He played for Barcelona, but the demands on him was to big and he ended up quickly being labeled a "failure". Napoli went in and bought him. Of course you now show your age when you talk about 'big club', Napoli was and is a big club. their lack of trouphies have a lot to do with the unstable enviroment they have. but they are Italy's third most supported club after Juve, Inter and us.

The clip is taken from the DVD "Emotions: A Century of AC Milan"

The match was the famous Sorpasso in our quest for #11 and it took place on 1st May 1988, Matchday 28 of the 87/88 Serie A season.

We travelled to Naples to face league leaders Napoli, led by Maradona, trailing by a solitary point (The deficit from 5 points at one stage, and in those days where only 2 points was awarded for a win, 5 points was like a country mile).

We won 3-2, overtook Napoli in the league standings and eventually won Serie A 3 points ahead of Napoli in a 30 match season.

That was Sacchi's only Serie A title and the first of many for Maldini, Billy, Donadoni, Tassotti and company :cool:
