Chivu would have been a good purchase 'way back when'. Is Roma really willing to give him up...are they still cash strapped??

Braida attended Roma vs Udinese and apparently he was uninpressed by both Felipe and Chivu's performace.
Having said that Milan still have an eye on Alex (PSV) and of 2 players from the Serbia NT (forgot their names, but the report poited out that one plays for Dinamo Kiev the other in a team from Moscow :embarass: ) and Kompany. Possibly 2 of these 5 defenders could dress in Red&Black next season :)
Chivu and Alex :pr115: My only concern is that Chivu apears to be injure prone...but a great defender. I´m a fan of Alex...so, to see him in Milan jersey will be awesome!!!
Maldine, Nesta, Alex and Chivu :sweeteye: man, any combination will be a wall!!!

at least 1 of those guys should have been brought in this season. Nest season we could have to bring in 3 defenders, two centre backs and a right back, shocking really, they wil not gel instantly and we won't be able to spend on any other area of the team.

Yeah, he does, but he can't get a working permit for England because of his limited, if any, participation in the Brazil NT. So, if we are gonna get him, most probably, it would be on loan from Chelski, who I am not sure will let him come to us so easily.
I like Alex and think he has a lot of potential but a player I am even more impressed by is Gonzalo Rodriguez from Villareal. He reminds me so much of a young and unpolished Nesta - same style of play, very athletic and tough defender but also playing with certain elegance in his movement ... very much like Sandro. Gonzalo is 21 now and next year, when I would like to see him at Milan, he would still be very young but also mature enough to play for a club like Milan.
Kompany does look like a great player in the making but I think he is a bit too young to come and play for us even from next season. Maybe 2 years from now, when he will be 21, would be a better moment fro him to change clubs but at the end of this season, I am not fully convinced he would be mature enough for a Milan experience.
Chivu is the one defender I would like to see come to us from January as he is already an established defender with great deal of Serie A and CL experience ... one thing that bothers me a bit is his injuries but I am confident Milan Lab will take much better care of him than Roma lab-wanna-be.
Felipe I haven't watched enough to fully comment on his play. I am sure he is a talanted player, who could improve a lot at Milan, but I would still prefer Gonzalo over the Brazilian.
I wouldn't mind having Bonera come to us in place of Simic ... I don't think that the Parma defender is ready to be a regular at Milan for he is still prone to stupid mistakes at the back, but he is still 23-24 and could vastly improve under the guidance of Billy, Maldini, and Nesta ... and who knows, maybe one day he would be a first choice player with us. A problem for getting Bonera would be that he surely knows his appearances with Milan will be limited, at least at the beginning, and he might opt for a regular spot with some other team like Fiorentina, for example.
All in all, I would like to see Milan get Chivu, Gonzalo, and Bonera for next season - 2006/07 - when Maldini and Billy will most probably retire, while Simic could very well be sold. For season 07/08, Kompany would be a welcome addition to the squad, when Stam would be probably leaving us too.

Well...
1. Chivu - i dont think braida was unimpressed by just watching a single match with chivu. He certanly knows all the things abouth him and he doesnt need to take a closer look, its not like chivu is playing for Quatar! Im not impressed by the way milan managment are so openly involved in these players. There shouldnt be that much media coverage.
2. Kompany - maybe he is too young, but we cant wait 2 more seasons coz his price will go higher!
3. Felipe - i dont know much about him.

Next year we will be without maldini,costacurta, and probable simic. So we need 2 CB and RB. Chivu,kompany,oddo is more than just fine, but do we have the power to do it??

I `ve seen Vidic several times already when he was playing for NT,and he`s the only player in our team that `really contributes to the game`.He sacrifices a lot and is very good when it comes to aerial play.Plays in a similar way like Nesta.I still don`t find him Milan material,but i think Milan could get him at a low price,loan him out to gain some more calcio experience and then get him back.
