View Full Version : Milan Mania needs your help
It’s time to discuss publicly something that we’ve been discussing in the Mods Haven all summer. As you may or may not know, we are associated with a site called Final Football and are hosted on the same server as that site. Several of us are co-owners there and we’ve done as much as we can to get that place active and to keep it alive. Andrew has decided that it’s time to pull the plug there…which impacts us here at Milan Mania directly.
We co-owners have been paying for hosting for 3 years. As you all know, life ebbs and flows, incomes grow and shrink. To put it simply, we are in need of REGULAR contributors to keep our present level of hosting and to keep MM “on the airwaves.” Is there anyone out there who can help, and who would be willing to do so on a regular basis? We need the stability of knowing we’re going to have the cash flow needed for the current level of hosting.
I know one of the first questions will be how much? That actually depends on how many people step up to the plate. Rezag or Andrew can tell us the actual cost per month for hosting. Our hosting is $155 a month, a level we decided to move to since we got hacked, so as I said the more people who contribute the less we all have to pay. And yes, before anyone asks, we have been looking into other hosting solutions—our primary concern is speed for a forum of this size.
The mods have already been approached and several have said yes, they’d help so you’ve already got members of what I’ll call for now the “leadership team” willing to invest in the site. My stance is that no ONE person can or should be responsible for the payments. I know I cannot pay for the hosting myself, nor will I get into such a situation because I saw what happened to the original founder and owner of this site, who racked up an ungodly debt with the original server.
Rez and I, and probably also Andrew if we ask him to come here, are willing to answer any questions anyone has. What we need right now are for people to step up to the plate and pitch in to help keep Milan Mania online. Please go to the Forum News and Views forum to respond!, the topic is Milan Mania needs your help.
$155 a month !!!!!!!! Wow that's alot for a hosting company to charge. Maybe you could post the actual specs of what you get for $155 a month so other members can help look for alternative hosting solutions ??
I have some questions like, what would be the best way to send the money ? How much money do you have now and how many months will that last ?
When i get some sort of income, i'll be happy to help :5ok:
We have searched and will continue to do so, any help on that front is ofcourse great as well. There might be a few that are slightly cheaper and if we find one suitable we will move. Right now we are more concerned about the immediate future.
Paypal is the easiest way to send money but anybody willing to contribute can do so by other means like checks for example. The money right now is being made available on a monthly basis by the current owners, there is no 'reserve' or anyhting like that.
What is basically required for a forum of this size taking into account speed and security is a dedicated (meaning wholly under our control) server. Basics for the current one right now is:
Windows 2003 server
AMD Athlon 3000 Processor
I know a free hosting company! go too orgfree.com 250mb fre hosting we have forum also there(now it`s closed)! I think it`s better solution than 155$ per month!
Free hosting sounds great BUT...you've got to think about a couple of things. Speed...we're used to these forums being fast and responsive. Size...these forums are huge (tho in need of some pruning) and Rez can probably address how size vs server affects us. Can a so-called free server handle heavy traffic? Do they have security? We were hacked even on the current server and moved to a higher level for our own sake. Trust me, our members demand the best and any sort of glitch, even slow loading pages, gets noticed and commented on!
Anyway, as Rez said, we're open to members helping him research other servers but please talk to him (PM him if you want) to get specs that we have to look for.
And also to back up what Rez said, we have no reserve cash; we've been paying as we go along. I chip in whatever I can afford to try to help out--last month I was able to put in $150 but that was to help cover what others weren't paying. I cannot keep doing that, nor will I get myself into that situation. We've been looking into other solutions but for RIGHT NOW we have to consider the immediate future on this present server, just to keep MM online. So no further comments need to be made about what we're currently paying and how much you think it is--we're aware of that and we've been looking for a better solution that costs less. The issue is, are there any MM members who are willing to be regular contributors in order to keep us online? And for that matter, we could go with a rotation system of some sort....this 10-15 pays for 3 months, then some others pay and so on.
The issue right NOW is looking at the IMMEDIATE future of MM....
There are definitely cheaper alternatives with good security, especially if you look at Canadian hosting companies. Free hosting will not do because they don't offer the server space or security that we need here. www.canhost.ca and http://www.blacksun.ca/ are two of the ones I have used with great reliability.
It's interesting that MM has basically become a FORUM ONLY site - meaning, nobody really goes to the main webpage anymore I think, once they have discovered the forums. I sure as hell don't because some of the links are dead. For example, if you got the the main page and click on the ABOUT page, http://www.milanmania.com/about , you still see the message left by the hackers. So it's quite obvious the maintainers of the site, as good as a job they do on the forums, don't really care about the rest of this site :) And of course that's due to time constraints and something called life that people have.
The point of all that is that the site could save a lot of space by eliminating the main page entirely and being a FORUM ONLY SITE with sticky's that could have a brief description of AC Milan, FAQ's, etc etc.. Might help bring the cost down?
as far as contributions go, if the cost is shared over 20 people it wouldn't be that bad. It would be around $10 a person.

Thank you for the suggestions, we'll check them out.
I know the main pages need work. We've asked and asked if anyone here does stuff like that and to no avail. This isn't really the point of why I posted this topic, so in the near future we'll open a discuss about what do we want MM to be. I know at one time Jan (originator and owner) had alot of info and history up here--do we want that, do we want to be forum only. DO NOT discuss that now, but it's something for all of us to think over and then discuss as soon as we get this much more important matter settled.
Yes, as I said in my original post, the more people who can or will step up to the plate, the less we all have to chip in! :star:
my point was, can we save on server space by eliminating the main pages. hence bring down the costs? :)
The 'load' of a HTML page like the main page is negligible, the forum with its size and database security are the main isssues. At the current $155 we maybe able to find something a bit less and we will move when we do and per person contibutions will be reduced to reflect that.
Anything like free hosting or cheap hosting where this forum resides on a crowded server with 50, 75 or 100 other sites will reflect severely on speed and performance.
I would help but I dont earn my own money :(
Im posting here to show that I care for this forum and I hope any one of you could help.

First of all I am shocked!!!
I thought that there are more members that cares for this site, especially regular posters.
I am ready to help financially but it looks like nobody is interested in this forum!!!!
Collecting money from the members I'll see it more as a temporary solution.
As permanent I think other solutions have to be found, like introducing adverts that guarantee enough money, and then the members can help by buying from the sponsors.
And again I pretended much more respond for this thread.

I do not earn money myself. Nevertheless I care for MM so much, so the least thing I can do is to post here, and encourage others to donate for our beloved forum.
Forza MM

Come on FIRENDS OF MILANMANIA! THIS SITE is our HOME. We can all do this if we cooperate. I have trust and faith in the Admins. Right now the costs are being burdened by them while WE ALL use this site. Already with the help of Nadir, they are looking for alternatives. But dont forget we had a bit of cyber terror put on this site and this is what drove the cost up.
Dont give it for my sake! I'm an A$$! But give for this precious resource and avenue we use to talk about Football and a bunch of other stuff.
PC $800.00
Flat Screen Monitor $210.00
saving MilanMania..... PRICELESS!
I'll be on the first "rotation". How do I do this ? I could send a cheque or even better I'll do it by credit card, it you have the capabilities for that. Please contact me asap.

Why it has to stop me from helping out?
After all that's why I send my post to help financially, and to have a reaction from other members to do their part also.
(If possible I prefer to pay by credit card.)

Come on friends. A couple more donations will help the folks running MilanMania with time to reorganize and keep this site up.
Special Thanks to those who have already pledged.... STACI, MalteseCharlie, Hasan the Rossonero and all those who have given anonymously!
How can I do that? I also wanna do something, maybe not that much. We also have a forum with my friends and I know how difficult it's to survive. Maybe I cannot do a very high quantity but still I can.
First of all I want to thank people for stepping up. I was --as was Rez--starting to worry, and while we were chatting we were doing the "what if" scenario. What if no one steps up, do we tell them then the site closes down? After 8 years of being online?? So again, thank you. As Rez and I have both said, less expensive solutions are being looked at, but before we choose one, it has to meet the specs for the site.
About payments...well, let me double-check who's doing the actual bill paying. I know it has already been posted about using PayPal. That's the fastest method for those of us who can use it. That's how I send my $$ to Andrew, who has been and I am hoping will remain our contact person with the server people. Anyway, once I double-check, I'll re-post. Any questions or concerns, PM me or Rez. Kui, I replied to your latest PM.
I have to tell you all that one of my last thoughts last night was, wow, is this going to be the end of MM?? Thank God, it at least seems like it is not.
:3band: :3band: :3band: :3band: :3band:
I haven`t any Credit Card or so! And I`m not earning money myself! But I hope to help MM! I think that free hosting sites have not bad security! We may try?! If I could help with money I will but unfortunately I can`t! :rollani:
Ontarians can contribute in person :D
paypal is the easiest I guess but if thats not possible for you money order, postal order, etc. is a possibility ofcourse. One of us will PM paypal and/or address details to you guys :)

What about coming here and handing them cash to you personally. After all its still summer here and sure you'll enjoy it. :D
I'll prefer to pay by card it's much easier for me.
I hate to go in the bank waiting in the queue besides I am busy at this moment.

By credit card?? I don't think any of us is in any way set up to take credit card payments.
People are stepping up to the plate now, will this be a continuing thing? Is anyone able to say "hey I can throw in $10 or $15 a month" or even a lump sum like every 3 or 4 months? We could set up a Contributions link, right Rez?

Or is it possible to open a bank account so we can do a direct transfer?
I guess paypal is basically credit card with the additional signup. I can add a contribute page with a link to the paypal account and if its necessary look into a bank account too.

Debs, Rezag I would also like to step up with a contribution for the site. The MM forums have been an enjoyable way to keep track of Milans progress, and news, plus the supporters and freinds that are all here. If you will provide an account to direct wire funs, or paypal? Provide the pathway, and we will follow with Aid.
Plus if eveyone just sends $2.00 dollars, Euro's, pounds that visit the site, I would think that MM would be finianced for a considerable time? Just a thought for those whom have little finiances available, even the smallest amounts can go a long way. I takes a village to build a city.......
thanks Derek
PayPal to me seems the easiest, tho I know that it's not available in all the countries represented on these forums. But I'd like to encourage people to try to set up such an account b/c then you do not have to worry about funds being lost in the mail! What I am currently trying to nail down, even for myself, is who's going to collect the payments. Andrew has been our server contact and the man who does the payments. Rez? Any idea at all if he's still doing that for us? At any rate, just hang tight till we have an actual answer on that, and we'll let you know.
In the meantime, Rez, yeah a link would be good. And let me say this--I don't like to post anyone's email addresses publically since it only invites spammers to gather them, so all contact info will be given by PM.
what's the paypal account? there should be a link on the front page so every now and then we can donate :)
Rez just posted that he'll make a link. We're hammering out who the actual payment person is going to be. We'll PM the info to those who want it. :p017:

Sorry to be a pain again Debs but I might want to do the paypal thing being that I forgot to go to the post office. could you pm me with this paypal info that I'll need.

Is anyone able to say "hey I can throw in $10 or $15 a month"
hey I can throw in $10 or $15 a month
Hey, if enough of us can do that it won't be such a burden or a worry! :5guitar:
I just thought I should post this for all of you, some may be obvious but I think an explanation here is the least we can do.
The search for a cheaper, suitable alternative will be ongoing, including looking at the links suggested by you guys. There are the usual considerations such as speed, security, and having a server with a solid operating system. The are always other pitfalls to look out for like not being able to support many users, visiting and being active on the forums, at the same time and thus getting mySQL (database) error messages like 'too many users please try again'
As it stands right now this forum has a size of 478MB and using 40-50GB or so I believe of bandwidth per month...every dedicated server (our current setup) does come with room with lots more but what I posted above are considerations that make it difficult to impossible to move to free or much cheaper solutions.
I hope those who have shown interest do start/continue and do so regularly knowing that once we find one suitable place we will move as soon as possible and will ofcourse continue to update you as to whats happenning. A solution that will make it easier for all of us (and that includes those of us paying monthly amounts prior to all of this) to continue and keep MM alive...
All I can really add to Rez's post is that what we're hoping for is a group of members we can rely on to contribute either on a monthly basis, or a pool of members who'll come up with some sort of rotating contribution, as in "I can pay X to cover this 3 months" and someone else can pitch in X to cover another amount of time. We need to look at a long term solution like a server that costs less, yes, definitely, but even then we're going to need regular contributions. I've said this before and I will say it as many times as I have to to get it to sink in--NO ONE PERSON (or in this case maybe 2 persons) shoulder or will should the entire cost of keeping MM online. The more people who can come forward, and on a regular basis, the less we're all going to have to chip in. I can't say it in any simpler terms, and I hate to keep repeating myself.
Many thanks to all who are coming forward....so now I have to ask...is this an indication of being a regular contributor? Rez and I need to start making lists and planning....
Reza, PM me either here or FF. I feel comfortable talking to you, specially about this.

Debs et al, let me say that you have my support, and as soon as am able (give me a month or so) I will be able to send US$10 per month, until you say when...though in all honesty, it would be easier done via credit card.
As you may or may not know, I am the proud father of a 3 month old tyrant calld Carlos (no after his grandfather, not Ancelotti, before you even try to ask) and with he and my 12 year old sending me to the bank every other day or so, I am as close to financial meltdown as one can be without being bankrupt.
Please PM me, as I can get some funds to you via my friends in the Sates, even before my one month time frame is final.
FORZA MILAN! I for one wont sit idly by, and watch Milanmania go extinct.
pm me too i will be able to make small donation
Hey I can`t pay money so what I must do???
Dave, don't worry. We're looking for people who CAN help out, especially on a regular basis. So far we're encouraged by the responses we're getting publically and in PMs.

Well I hope you guys arent in dire need right now. Just let us know what is happening from time to time. I hope this initial campaign did well. I tried here earlier to rally some of the esteemed members of MM to contribute. I hope it went ok with you folks.

It's actually got to be more than an initial campaign, Kui and everyone else! We can't repeatedly have to go begging, that's just not the way to operate, not knowing from month to month if the server bill is covered!
Hat's off to those of you who have stepped forward, Rez has PMed you the needed info. (including one "unsung hero")(i just had to say that) But once again, I'll be the broken record and say we need REGULAR comtributors so we can split the costs up so that all those contributing are pitching in the least amount possible. So far...a few have said they can/will contribute on a regular basis. We need 10-15 people we can count on...or else a pool of 20 or 30 so we can rotate the contributions, as in so many do this 3 or 4 months, then so many other do the next 3 or 4 and so on.
If we get 20 people contributing we are talking $7.75 a month for each person. Surely you can give up a McDonalds and a Latte a month?:D
Just don't ask me to give up any pepsi or pizza :tong:
Hey, come on, Rez, I gave up a new computer this summer..... :uhm:
Still waiting for info on where to send my contribution seeing as how we don't have a means to get a paypal account here.

Yeah actually a good idea!!!
Yeah except that users are already complaining of slow access to the site.
http://www.milanmania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19073
Moving to a lesser host on a shared server than this will cause these issues to increase tenfold.
well you could try out offsideref.com to see. It's pretty fast.
The slow access is the server's problem, if they've been hit by a worm! Needs to be taken of straight away tho!
Just an update on a couple things....
For those who have spoken to Rezag about wiring funds, he's been investigating that option and it sounds cost-prohibitive all the way around! Not only would he have to pay a large fee to get the funds, but the person sending has a large fee to pay. It really sounds to me like PayPal or chasier's cheques are the way to go. I also suggested to Rez and Andrew that we could try BidPay, but I just went there and it seems set up only to pay for eBay auctions. I'm going to look at Westernunion.com, which used to be associated with BidPay and only charged a nominal fee.

If you PM Rezaq or Debs they will give the info you need. Thanks for helping out Philly! BTW this reminds me. I'll do another contribution soon too.
Again this for all you devout fans of MilanMania. I am asking for help personal differences aside for all who are willing and interested to donate some $$$ to keep this site up. This is serious stuff as the life of this forum is a stake. The admins from what I know are trying to find ways to get this site functioning properly again. This is only possible if they can find some if not all who are willing to help so that they can concentrate on re-organizing this great forum of ours. If they get the site up and running effectively, than the possibilities of finding businesses to invest here can get MilanMania to be self sustaining. AGAIN this is all dependent on all of us who can to help out while the Admins work on this. Please contact the Admins for any questions and/or post any feedback here on this thread.
We're really in need of someone with some technical savvy too, as Andrew has basically burned out trying to keep it all running and dealing with the 2 sites. Now it's all going to fall on Rezag and I don't want him to burn out too! So please...if anyone is interested and has some tech smarts, PM Rezag! Thank you!
between a rock and a hard place...
Not to trivialize matters but something has developed. Andrew withdrew his credit card info from ServerBeach b/c Rezag is to take over, and wouldn't you know they tried to charge the account the very same day. We have 72 hours to decide what to do. I sent Rez a $75 contribution. We'll stay online for January, then...unless someone has some other ideas...we're shutting down the site, plain and simple.
If anyone is interestred in contributing and hasn't PMed Rezag or hasn't gotten a PM from Rezag with PayPal info, you can PayPal him using the email address:
[email protected]
I have no ideas left, I have no real words left. I don't want to see MM close but 2 or 3 people cannot afford to keep it running. I've asked, I've begged, I've explained the situation and there's little response. Put yourself in my postion and tell me how it would make you feel. I feel like no one cares about this site, about the people here, about any of it. I simply do not know what else to do.
Been away for a while, hasn't been my fault, my body and health have virtually made it impossible to even use the net, I'm backfor a while, is it still $155 to keep us online for another month?
As of now, yes thats the amount
I am so desperate to see our site is going down knowing that I can not do anything
Yeah me too, i'm so pissed that i can't do anything aaaaaaaaaaa :d55:
I sent Reza $50 to help out for this month too.
hello,
I am really sorry but cannot contribute financially to the cause.
Kinda shocked and saddened to read about the site being so poorly funded and at risk.
Maybe someone has already brought this up, dunno cause im new here but what if we were to try to raise money? I mean, what about a once a month raffle/lottery where people could buy say a number and it gets drawn out...something like that??? Or what about some kinda competition??
I think we would be more succesful with something like that. I run my kids local under 8's football team and we are never short of ideas, football cards, sponsored this, sponsored that. Maybe hard doing something like this cause we are online, but my dad has always told me "when there is a will there is a way", I see lots of will, im sure there is a way!
What if members were to donate a piece of milan/football memrobilia and then auction it on ebay? I mean haveing supported Milan since I was 7 (28 now) I have been collecting religiously Forza Milan, Guerrin sportivo bla bla bla bla. We could maybe do this!! I am sure many of you out there would be the same.
what do you think?

If there is anything i can help wid please let me know by replying to this post! i can help financially too! i want MM to be the best milan forum!
I will PM you soon, thanx.
Those features like chat were not really a big success last time we had them and as you can see from the menu on top of the pages I have been hesitant to add/remove stuff in case we bring them back, which is possible.
I will PM you soon, thanx.
Those features like chat were not really a big success last time we had them
And let me add to what Rez said--we've had several different forms of chat here over the years. The problem is the bottom line, meaning the cost vs how much the chat really gets used. At one time our founder Jan had a chat on here that cost $100 a month, and I'm certain prices have changed alot since then, but the only time it really got used was during games when a bunch of us would get on and if someone was seeing the game live on TV, we'd get game updates. We've tried a free chat that a member once created for us. Nice bottom line but it never worked well. We've tried IRC and it wasn't successful either, Rez could probably fill you in on the follies of that.
What it really boils down to is this: I'd love for us to have a chat. If we could find a really inexpensive one or a free one that would work well, as in be able to handle 20 or 30 people at once, we could consider it. But if it's costly, it's just not worth it.
minhduc is a new member from Saigon, Vietnam.
I can contribute some $ and have to find out a way to send it out of the country. can someone tell me where (which city) the money have to be sent to and how ?
any other members from Vietnam wish to contribute too so we can consolidate the transfer ?
For sure we will keep this site up and running.
i saw the advertisments at the end of the page and i remembered this thread, first of all i want to ask if those ads are helping in the financial side of the thread. second, i promised i will donate money, but i was busy travelling, how can i do this?

What do I see... is it a new advertisment on the bottom of the page?! Does that mean we have a sponsor?

When I joined MM I though it was excellent that you could upload images to the MM site itself. Reading this topic I thought that it must be adding to the cost of the site.
I am a long standing member of the Man United Message Board and we are not able to upload images on that site. We can display images by copying and pasting from other sites on the web, use of <img src="image url"> html code to display images. Istead of the site having to store a 100KB image it only stores a small piece of text that is much less than 1KB in size. This makes the site more responsive, faster and it reduces the running cost I would say.
Users are encouraged to use free image hosting sites such as
http://www.photobucket.com
http://www.imageshack.com
http://www.flickr.com
to share their images.
Would this be an option for MM to reduce the cost of running the site?

Also if some people do want a chat thing I really think a thread in Members Lounge or Flamers Paradise called Chat would work.
I know it's not as good because you can't see who is online and start a conversation with them but you could declare your presence and wait for a reply (if there is someone else around that is).
Also if people still want a big group for live match chat why not try organise a group on MSN for Milan matches. It could be easily done if people have MSN and give their names and spread the word.
What do you think about my suggestions?

what's with the other chats y not some IRC? And y are avaters 88x88 that's very small... i have like the smallest i've ever used is 110x110 as a max...this is not enough to express youself and y i can't have a signature?...i'm very confused...

the signature is currently taken away because of abuse... as for the avatar... 88 x 88 is a good number... lucky... =)
there was a chat room years ago and it was very popular, but the for whatever reason it declined and was stopped. Then it came back and the link to the chat room is still at the top of the page (although it doesn't go anywhere i don't think), but no one used it. A real time chat box/room is being looked into and when the right one is found i'm sure it'll be introduced.
Someone who's been talking about chat--sorry that I forget who, I've had other things to deal with--said that vBB, which is the software we use for the forum, actually has something in it that's a form of chat. That's one option we can look at.
Jim, in the past Jan had to pay $100 a month for a chat system that really was only used during games, and it never functioned really well anyway. The more people who entered it the less stable it was, so people were always getting disconnected adn then it was hard to get back in. We had a member once who created one that we used a short time, but it couldn't handle very many people. IRC chat...I guess Rez could tell yo how that one worked b/c I never used it. Never was able to find the "room" that was ours. :stupid:
Ideally I think we'd like to find something free if possible, and that just brought something to mind. Yahoo chat...I wonder if it's possible to set up a private room for MM people, something that's always there but not visible to the millions who use Yahoo's chat, and have a direct link to it. I'll check into that, as I used to use Yahoo chat alot waayyyy back when I was first getting into this stuff.
I am working on bringing back a chat, when thing settle down we hope have a chat of some kind....

The google news is quite aweful! What kind of damage are we looking at?
Is there a possibilty of private advertising? (i.e without the interference of google or similar companies)
I don't know, but from reading Rezag's posts about it in our moderator forum, he's as disgusted as I am. We're uncertain what they mean by "invalid clicks" and the explanation they did give sounds like "fine print" they should have been more upfront with when Rez signed us on! We're not alone in being penalized, but that's not exactly comforting either.
Bottom line is, the ads were actually starting to add some money to what we have to come up with every month, which is $160 for the server. Yes, we'd like to find something less expensive, but that meets our specs. REZ, if you'd post the specs for us here??
I'd like to ask if there are any members who maybe have a little tech knowledge who could help Rez look for another server solution? Right now our costs and finding a solution takes priority over bringing back chat or adding new smilies and stuff like that. Obviously! :guw:
I'd also like to ask...and I'm going to post this in Rezag's topic in the Member's Lounge as well...that if there are any members who want to see these forums continue beyond the next couple of months, and who can make some sort of donation on a regular basis please PM me or Rez. The goal is to find enough people so that all of us who can contribute are only having to chip in the equivalent of maybe $10 to $15 a month...depending on how many people come forward. Yes, we have issues with beign an international site, but the best way we have right now to collect payments is to PayPal Rez's account. He handles the server payments, so he's the one collecting and forwarding the payments when they are due.

You can use your credit/debit card to setup a paypal account. You can make payments or recive money using the account. Western Union is a very expensive method as they charge a big fee for transferring funds. With paypal you do not have to pay any money for the transfer. Paypal can be used to pay bills, online, in the most secure manner.
Yeah, PayPal is just easiest for these international dealings, and yes, you can set it up for your credit card.
I do not live in a city where I can change over different currencies, Rez lives in Toronto so if it really came down to it, he can be sent some cash. Better method than that however is to go to your post office and ask them for an international money order in whatever amount in Canadian dollars. So PayPal or International POSTAL money orders.
Just put a contribution to rez's account 28 July 2006 Friday.
As always, thank you, Kui! :hopefull:
I have no proposals, if you find a solution just let me knowto see if i will be able to help you. Milanmania is indispensable to all of us. At least to me.

Isn't our vbulletin software old? How much will it take to upgrade to one of the latest versions. Any plans?
We just paid for the license last spring when the company told us someone had reported us for pirating the frikkin' software. I'll pass this one off to Rez b/c he can tell us if what we paid for is a permanent license. Hopefully it is, b/c we can't keep having to come up with money for all these added costs. Last spring was the second time I (we) paid for a license!!!
What we need is someone who could design us a forum.....dream on....
Right now we can upgrade without having to pay anything for the vBB upgrade, takes a bit of time to preserve the forum theme and template though.

I co-designed/built a forum a while back and i was about to give you the link, but it appears the guy hasn't renewed the webhosting. I'll see if i can dig it out somewhere and send you the link Debs.
