well, first of all, you can tell them that the original game called football is the one created in england that is played by eleven players with a round ball and not that ugly thing that is a bad copy of rugby that is played by i dont know how many idiots dressed as robots and you can tell them to go eat hamburgers or just tell them to go to h--ll.
In the music matter i added you to my msn list so when you get online i ll be happy to supply you with all the music you want if i have something that goes with your taste that im sure i am.

IF you like Latin music, you could do worse than to check out anything by The Fania AllStars. They were Salsa stars of the1970s and 80s who recorded in New York City for the Fania record label. Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Willie Bobo, Ruben Blades, they are all great if you like Salsa. I'm sure their stuff is online. Another guy I remember from highschool (where it was 85% Latin) is Wilfredo Vargas, who's "EL Negro" was the big hit back in '86--you heard it at all the quincanearas, despite the fact that the words are a little dirty.
As far as Mexican music goes (Salsa is mostly Carribean based), Banda and Norteno are still popular here in San Francisco, but that accordian sound is an acquired taste. El Tigres Del Norte are good.
Debs could tell you all about Latin Rock music as she is a big fan, if I recall correctly.

I remember ''El Negro'' i think. Was it like this?:
''Hoy la negrita nos conto lo que sucede
el negro no puede, el negro no puede
esta en la cama y ni un pelo se le mueve,
el negro no puede, no puede dormir''
Was it that or it is a different song? I remember listening that song in thousends of TV shows here in Argentina.
And as you mentined her, let me tell you that Celia Cruz was great ¡Azuuucar! We loved her here in Argentina.
You spoke about Mexico, you like ''corrido'' music? i heard narcos send some groups to make songs for them, i heard one, ''La cruz de marihuana'', that goes like this:
''Cuando yo muera levanten una cruz de marihuana,
con diez botellas de vino y cien barajas clavadas
al fin que fue mi destino andar en la senda mala.
En mi caja cocaina mis metrallas de tesoro
goze torito en la vida joyas mujeres y polvo
yo soy narcotraficante que se arrastro por el lodo.
Sobre mi tumba levante una cruz de marihuana
no quiero llantos ni rezos tampoco tierra sagrada
que me entierren en la sierra con lobos de mi manada....''
Here in Argentina this style is always compared to ur ''Cumbia villera'', a style borned in poor towns outside Buenos Aires, whos lyrics sing against the police and rich people, and in favor of thief boys killed by the police while they were stealing to feed their families.
The song i posted earlier ''los dueños del pabellon'' by Dama$ Grati$ ( the group of the creator of this style, Pablo Lescano) talks about prisoners in jail, and other songs speak about drugs and alcohol, and their sense in these people lives as an escape way to their pain.

OK im glad you liked it, that is the music we dance here in the discos, :djn: i think you would be very happy and have a lot of fun in our discos because in most of them music they play is cumbia, other latin music( like reggaeton) or rock and roll (rolling stones kind) and there is almost no electronic music. :2dance:
Oh and all of them play Gasolina :p017: :u56:

El Matador from Fabulosos Cadillacs is a must.
La Copa de la Vida-Ricky Martin.
Que el Futbol no pare-Patricia Manterola
There's one that I think is called "Un pais tropical" but I'm not quite sure.

Matador sure, it rocks, and also is a song that here in argentina a lot of club supporters took it and made it a song to support the team, for instance where it sais ''ma matadoooor ma matadoooor'', Boca sais ''dale dale boooo dale dale booo'', or River sais ''vamos river plaaaate vamos river plaaaate''. :1ole:
the other two songs mmmm :( :googly: :w143:

Well, la Copa de la Vida and Que el Futbol no Pare were both part of WC98 and WC 02' albums...I'm not a fan of them, but they can work for the clips.
Maybe something by Calamaro...

mk18,

being a football fan living in the US also, I have had the same discussion with locals...
they want to see games ending with scores similar to baseball games (like 9-6)
which would be just ridiculous... specially for a Milan fan who knows that a defense like Tassotti, Costacurta, Baresi, Maldini can win you games with half a goal ;)

If you want music that is good for highlights, try Batucada (from Brazil, lots of percusion)
