there arent thousnads of crazy scousers at the sansiro tonight, but there are many milanista who wont let a repeat of istanbul happen. Juve cant even fill their ground, the players just need to stay focused and follow Rinos "give me the captains armband" performance :de3:

WOW
The first ten-fifteen minutes were a tad worrisome as Juve was doing well controlling the midfield but their overrated defence..overrated players (Ibra., Nedved) are falling FLAT. We are playing as a UNIT with contributions by everyone from Gattuso to Gilardino all contributing to goals...
Don't worry the players remember last time they were up 3-0 in a big game...however, Christmas only comes ONCE a year....
FORZA MILAN
hey hey hey hitmannq8 this is not the right place and the right time!!!

Commentators Are Just Talking About The Cl Final.
We need to limit their long range shots and crosses into the box.
Chill it hitman, Liverpool used all their luck in their past 50 years to win on that ill-fated night in Istanbul  Juve had favors from the refs and officials all year round, so it's payback time

we played a wonderful game.. im surprised people here thought nesta struggled, i thought stam, nesta, maldini were wonderful at the back! Serginho made some good runs as well. Pirlo WAS FABOLOUS, i predicted he would perform amazingly today which will be our turning point. I believe we will be putting in impressive performances from now on, just like the 03/04 season :).
Gattuso? For me, man of the match. Just outstanding today. Seedorf was alright but we could have used Marek. Pippo didnt do anything today, a few bad touches though. I think Gila played a really really good game, if it wasnt for him there would be no first goal. He held up the play perfectly and released the pass at the right time and right place. Everytime he got the ball he held it well and returned it the midfield and went back in. Gila is hitting form :)
Overall, AN AMAZING game, but there is one thing that i did not enjoy, and it was, unfortunately, Vieri. He returned to be an "eeediat" when he came on.

Indeed.
Let this game be a lesson to all that slamming your team for every little mistake is not the way to go about it.
Our defence was superb, our midfield was better than Juve's and while Gila did not score he was a constant thorn in the Bianconeri's side.
Now we have to show this concentration against Udinese and we are good.

ya, it was stam whom kept Trez onside but did u see dida's body movement in covering the ball? His reaction showed that he was prepared for the ball to bounce into his arms but was stunned by Trez's toe-picked shot. Seriously go see the reply n u will know what i mean. :neww: But i dun blame him. That was a tough call, so no prob! :D

What I meant was that in the league we often win the big games and let oursleves down in the follow up.
In that context, the Udinese game is very important indeed, perhaps more so than the pSV one.

our best preformance by a country mile. If Seedorf and Gattuso lift themselves like that for more games in the season then our fortunes would improve drastically.

What inspired play by our boy's in Red and Black. We knocked out all the spider webs from the past and surged towards goal over and over. Our defense played thier markers fantasticly. What Inspiration Gatusso created for our other teammates. He was agressive, but didnt get himself into any trouble. The midfeild broke up the rythem of Juv and made all the goals. Nice work today, now the title race is an open door, all created by a great team effort.

Adrian Mutu literally tried to kill Nesta at one point, what the **** was he thinking?
Well im back from celebrations and after seing this beautifull match i can only say BRAVO CARLO! Maybe some of you know i dislike carlo, but this time i have to say lineup for the start of the game was brilliant. Changes were a bit strange ( vieri??), but i'll leave it this time. Seedorf played extra game tonight, so did GATTUSO. Stam worked well, as did serginho in the offence and defence. And one thing that needed to work properly - PIRLO - worked at last! Pippo and gila did ok, fighting. Kaka showed some brilliance and Juve mafia showed how they cant play fair when they loose. (mutu, emerson). The best thing is that we showed we can over-power juve + we have better technique. Our conter attacks were a bit unefficient but im very happy so ill just talk about good things today...:) :) :)
Ibrahimovic? haha...nesta got him and made him his personal slave! San Paolo as usual, brilliant! We can do better , but this is indeed very good, great performance by our team. With sheva and THIS ATTITUTE no one can beat us. Only problem is... it seems we cant play fighting like this all the time. and one more thing that worries me - cafu...you all know what im talknig about, he is loosing it . Sorry but its true
My fellow Rossoneri, I hate to sound like sour grapes after such a big win, but i will for the sake of debate. Milan PLAYED POORLY. I watched the game like many of you and from what i saw, Milan left alot to be desired. To be honest Juve were playing our style, their ball control, quick movements and transitional play were a replica of Milan.Despite Juve dominating much of the game we willed the win, led by our heart beat Rino.I'm not that ecstatic about this win because, we didn't play well, and against big teams, is when we really prove our METTLE. I'm glad we won, but we seriously need to improve, may be time is the cure.
Forza Milan

At the end of the day one team came out to play and another did not. As is typical of upsets you will hear the other side try to come up with excuses to play down the loss as mere luck or based on a probability of chances. In one word: HORSESH*T.
Nesta, Maldini, Stam and Serginho defended..and they kept Zlatan shotless...took Trezeguet totally out of the game save for his late goal and held the midfielders Nedved and Vieira at bay.
Rino Gattuso ... where to begin? He simply played his heart out and contributed in every way he can..say what you will about his technique but he had a better technical game than Nedved today ...Another thing about Rino, some claim he played a dirty game..NO, he played a physical game and fought FIRE with FIRE...on the other hand, Nedved and Mutu played the 'dirty game' ...Nedved STEPPING on Gattuso and Mutu purposely falling on Nesta then stepping on him....hence, the difference.
Pirlo, Seedorf and Kaka carried the game and dictated the rhythm of the game..they knew early on that our strikers may not get the opportunity they need to score so took it upon themselves to contribute. Juve responded by hacking down Kaka when they could do little else costing them two goals and allowed Seedorf and Gila ample space on the edge of the box and then claim it was a 'one in a million' goal. You play with fire..you will get burned.
Reading Capello's comments and other Juve fans you would think that Milan scored three goals and rode the rest of the game on sheer luck...
despite the fact that Pirlo almost made it 4-0.
despite the fact that Juve had NO decent chance of scoring apart from Trez.'s goal.
despite the fact that the Juve D was totally in shambles on the first two goals.
despite the fact that their PRIME players were nowhere to be seen today.

All this and we are supposed to believe that we won by luck??
Form is temporary..Class is permanent.
Capello is a sore loser. He didn't even have to make these stupid comments for everyone to see that. He sent his players out to go after our players. Mutu on Nesta was ridiculous I could not believe my eyes when I saw that. The Juve players had even Maldini angry. Honestly how often can you say you see San Paolo mad?
Let's just celebrate this win. But not to heartily. We have won nothing yet. We aren't even in first right now. Our focus must remain on the matches ahead so we don't go dominating Juventus then blow it against teams like Empoli. That's where titles are really won so let's not forget that.
mkri, you have got to be the most negative person I have ever come across in any shape or form. We have a hell of a game and after the excitement of beating the undefeated Champions of Italy you focus on the fact that we cant play like that all the time. Who can, you cant motivate your self for the likes of Empoli the same way you would Juve. This was our 7th straight Seria A win and the only difference between us and a record breaking team is they won a game where we drew. So we arent doing too badly at all. And no,I dont know what yo mean, cafu isnt loosing it. Infact he may soon be lifting his 4th world cup trophy.
And Rosso6, are you havin a laugh. Which game did you watch
?? We totally dominated the team thats supposed to have a brick wall in midfield. We were excellent today especially our midfield. Yes after we tore them apart we sat back a bit and soaked some pressure, but what do you expect going into half time 3-0 up (U know what I mean). Apart from Juves goal, what did they create---NOTHING.
Honestly, Milan could win the world cup in Germany and some people would still find something to complain about :hammer:
Whats luck got to do with it, Seedorf engineered his goal with good interchange with Gila, Kakas finish was exquisite and Pirlo's goal was lucky, but fortune favours the brave and there was only one brave team.
well, we didn't have the luck in the CL too, but i don't think everyone says, "We are just unlucky"
And please, if this game is considered 'poor' by someone, I really don't know when people will be satisfied.
Perhaps, they expect Milan to win by ball possession of 75% and shoot on target 10 and goal like 10-0 against Juventus.
Dude, be realistic.

Forza Milan
I am not sure you yourself are aware what you are talking about ... it's like 100 other MM members and millions of other people have watched a comletely different game than you have ... FCS, even utterly negative people like mrki and hitmann had something positive to say.
Every Milan fan does and should expect from the team to always strive to improve, but to say that Juve had a better, more fluid and Milan-like performance in a game when we kicked their ass in the first half and were clearely better even when we sit back in the second, now that's just plain ridiculous.
Hopefully, before posting this, you had just read Capello's loser-like comments after the game and you were just being sarcastic. Otherwise, I would recommend a temperature check ASAP.
lol....
Yesterday we made a terrific performance, it was the best matche of the season for us since we played well and got the result, not like vs PSV.
With Nesta in the middle of our defence I forgot that Ibrahomivic was playing. Gattuso with his running and carisma switched off the so called unbeatable Juve midfield partnership Vieira and Emerson. Thanks to Rino our quality midfielders Seedorf, Pirlo and Kaka had some more spaces where to operate.
It was a great performance by every member of the team, yesterday they really played with their hearth and got what they wanted, victory.
THIS MORNING I HAVE A HUGE HANGOVER, I celebrated till late. FORZA MILAN, juve merda. GOBBO TI ODIOOOO

Whats luck got to do with it, Seedorf engineered his goal with good interchange with Gila, Kakas finish was exquisite and Pirlo's goal was lucky, but fortune favours the brave and there was only one brave team.
i believe forture takes turns, once against us and once with us. We all remmeber both the Juve games that we dominated in Serie A last year but we failed to win. I believe in those games the ref played a big part, and especially that penalty on Cafu, I will not call it cheating for Juve, i'll just call it luck. Our champions league final, how lucky can liverpool get? When did Sheva ever miss from 2 yards with the GK on the ground?
forture was also against us vs PSV earlier this season, but im thankful that it has finally come our way. yeah, seedorf's goal was lucky, kaka's goal was a defensive mistake, and pirlo's goal was a goal keeping blunder. So what? Games are decided in moments like these. We cannot perform 10/10 every single game, but today, our defence were certainly 10/10. Midfield? Individually they were 10/10 i believe, but maybe their linkup play is what made people here think we did not play well. It is a shame that, Juve had only 2 goals scored against them, and we scored THREE against them, and they all came up with an excuse for every goal!
Anyway, let us be happy with our performance, and remember that we were without Shevchenko today :) What would happen if he was there? Maybe people think I am negative for what I am going to say, but i believe this hard work getting 3 points off Juve can be thrown into the bin if we lose against teams like Lecce,Cagliari,Messina etc. If we drop points to any of these teams and Juve win their game, its like we did nothing. We should not remove our feet from the pedals and keep going.
Next stop, AMSTERDAM!

CL is a difficult issue I know but this is important to actualize. Liverpoop didn't beat us WE defeated ourselves, in last night's game I saw an style that we played that day, fluid passing, rythm imposition, effective counter-attacks, but then we had the concentration slack and ocurred the disaster, our zone defence became overwhelmed by their pacey rythm but later on we starter defending and breaking them with this unique "choreographed" overlapping man to man marking, that inmediately dimished their rythm and allowed us to impose an overwhelming attack and that type of defence was the key to almost get CL cup back.
That so exclusive style of performance seemed to have come about when we panicked, some sort of desperation possesed Milan for an urgency of recovery, and I must say that we tried our hearts out but we failed. Then later on I saw similarities of that same peformance when we played PSV last time, probably only on the 2nd half, and finally we were able to replicate and impose that performance throught and through yesterday with a Big, Big Juventus.
Now we need that hopefully with some consistency we'll be able make it our own trademark, I commend this on the Great Gattusso because I know he's the only player leader who can create this powerful and effective style for us in Milan, a pivotal player for the maximun performance of the others. GOOD LUCK AND FORZA RINO!!! I'm your biggest fan now and forever... lets make this our MILANNIUM!!! :star: :p286: :star: ...MILAN FOREVER AND EVER!!!
Congratualtions to all Milanisti on the planet. We strolled to an emphatic victory turning in our best performance so far this season. From that point our title challenge begins. We completely dominated the match from start to finish and our players without a single exception produced their best under a masterful management from our coach Ancelotti. We brought their winning start to the new season to an end and cutting their lead to just two points for what promises to be another thrilling title race that will go all the way till the end. Sheva our goalscoring machine failed to recover in time in a very big blow but we weren't affected. That match in specific is one of the best from Carlo Ancelotti in terms of match management. He completely outclassed the veteran Fabio Capello. Our starting line-up witnessed a big surprise as Stam started at the right-back at the expense of Cafu who was relegated to the bench. Carlo aimed at fielding a solid defensive player on the right to close down Juve's left winger and most influential player Nedved sacrificing Cafu's importance to our attacking game with his usual excellent width and wing-plays. It was a well-calculated move as Nedved was completely neutralized without leaving any impact on the game. Super-Pippo started upfront partnering Gilardino ahead of Vieri in the vacant place of Sheva. Serginho started at left-back earning the edge ahead of Kaladze and Jankluvski to provide us with the width on the left pushing up all the time. Carlo continued to deploy his usual 4-3-1-2 format. Capello on the opposite side continued to adopt his preferred 4-4-2 making one tactical change shifting Zambrotta from the left-back where he usually plays to the right-back allowing veteran full-back Pessotto to step in at the left-back while Chimenti started at the goalkeeper. In such type of encounters the team that wins the battle of the midfield usually come close to winning. Bearing that in mind, Ancelotti and Capello as usual employed a high pressure tactic to break up the attacks at the earliest trying to hit on the break. Even though Juve's central midfield pairing of Emerson and Viera is considered the strongest in the world in terms of defence, our three man midfield of Gattuso, Pirlo and Seedorf supported defensively by Kaka when we lose the ball completely stamped our authority and gave us the advantage. Gattuso in specific is undoubtedly man of the match delivering a great match winning back possession all the time and nearly winning all of the duels. With that performance he silenced all of his critics as he was back to his usual self living up to our expectations. Our central defence pairing of Maldini and Nesta imposed a very tight man-marking on Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic leaving them no chances at all while on the opposite side of the pitch Thuram and Cannavaro imposed a similar marking on our target strikers Gila and Pippo. Pippo managed to escape once latching on to a long pass inside the box but he failed to convert. Seedorf the specialist in scoring goals against Juve oppened the scoring with a long range effort that deflected wickedly off Thuram and looped behind the advancing keeper into the net giving us the lead. We continued to dominate after the goal with Juve outclassed. Kaka added our second firing a bullet into the top right corner on the half-volley from inside the box after a Pirlo free kick caused a goal-mouth scramble. A dream start and a completely well deserved lead relative to the run of play. Even though Serginho and Stam were providing width and pushing up, their outcome was minimal because Juve left no spaces down the wings for them to exploit and whip in crosses. Capello made his first sub replacing Pessotto by attacking-minded left-back Chillini in a bid to provide his side with width. Carlo made a counter internal tactical switch moving Kaka to the right with Gattuso shifting to partner up Pirlo at our central midfield reverting to a 4-4-2. Carlo wanted to add pressure on their right side restricting Chillini forward runs and exploiting possible spaces behind him on the counter attack. A masterful thinking as Chillini was forced to be very cautious in moving forward. The match witnessed some disgraceful refereeing as the Juve-tailored referee awarded a large number of non-existent fouls for every fair challenge on Juve players and added by neglecting some off the ball incidents that should have resulted in sending-offs. Gattuso was losing his temper as for every challenge he made the referee whistled for a foul. Even with two goals up we continued to push forward as Juve failed to threaten at all apart from sending some crosses in but Dida was always there to collect. Right on the stroke of half time we scored our third and virtually finished off the match. Our free kick specialist Pirlo powered a tricky shot from more than thirty yards that their keeper failed to stop as the ball squeezed from his hands to the net. At three goals up, Carlo ordered our players to slow down our tempo in the second half keeping hold of ball possession for long times to deny them the chance to press forward and put pressure on our defence. Capello fielded Adrian Mutu pulling out Camoranesi to play with a trident attack in a desperate attempt to score. The stupid referee neglected sending Nedved off after he kicked Gattuso's head whle lying on the ground and Capello responded by pulling him out immediately. Still Juve couldn't find a way to our goal apart from an earlier shot from Nedved from the edge of our box after he was allowed a rare space that was parried easily by Dida. Pirlo on the other side could have added our fourth after sending another long range free kick that their keeper palmed round the post off the goal line. Capello pushed in Del Piero on the left wing on for Nedved throwing everything forward while Carlo pushed in Vieri on for Pippo. Juve snatched a goal after a mistake from Stam in applying the offside trap played Trezeguet on side when Viera's chipped pass reached him inside our box in a one on one to fire a shot that beat the onrushing Dida. Carlo went for protecting our lead in the closing stages pulling out Gila and replacing him by Cafu switching to a 4-5-1 with a lone forward. Cafu stepped in on the right wing while Kaka reverted back to his usual playmaking role. Carlo aimed at holding up the ball more to dampen them and Cafu did just that. In the last few minutes Carlo made our last sub pushing in Kaladze on for Seedorf. Kaladze stepped at left-back while Serginho moved to the left wing. Serginho shows some amazing skills in keeping the ball under high defensive pressure as the match went to the end. An awesome victory in our biggest match so far this season. We need to pay much attention to minor sides because actually our results against minor sides cost us the title last year. Hopefully our winning streak will continue after that massive boost.
Player Ratings :
1-Dida : Not under much pressure as Juve rarely threatened thanks to great defending. Excellent in dealing with crosses. 7
2-Stam : An almost flawless defensive match closing down Nedved completely but it was a mistake from him that resulted in their goal. He pushed up much in the first half but without much effect. 7
3-Maldini : Another great performance from our living legend. Dominant in the air winning most of the challenges and marked Trezeguet excellently. He was trying an offside trap alongside Nesta when Trez snatched the goal and for me it wasn't his fault. 8
4-Nesta : An excellent match from the world's best central defender. Succeeded in stopping Ibrahimovic all the way. Unbeatable and made a number of crucial interventions. 8
5-Serginho : He provided width but not wing-plays and crosses. Played a very important role in the second half and was instrumental in Carlo's possession tactic. Flawless defensively as Camoranesi didn't find any spaces. 8
6-Gattuso : Man of the match. A heroic performance in breaking up their attacks and winning the ball. Provided an excellent defensive support to Stam on the right side. He was the victim of non-sporting acts including a kick in his head and amazingly he came back to complete the whole match. Back to his best. 10
7-Pirlo : A goal and an assist and instrumental throughout. 8
8-Seedorf : One of his best matches defensively and offensively. Scored the goal that opened our way to victory. 9
9-Kaka : He developed his game into one of the few complete players all over the world. Apart from the goals he score week in week out, he developed his defensive game to its best something he learned with the Rossoneri. He was denied any space but influential in holding up the ball. He was used on the right for a large portion of time and succeded in that. Scored the all important second goal that put us in a commanding position. 8
10-Gila : moved a lot trying hard but was denied any opportunity. Lacked support as the goals we scored in the first half forced us to play with a different approach. We didn't put in much crosses to play him to his strengths. 7
11-Pippo : Back to fitness and back to big matches . Like Gila he tried hard but lacked support. 7
12-Vieri : Didn't have much time but wasted a promising opportunity. Needs to recover his finishing touch.
13-Cafu : Performed exactly what was required from him when he came in.
13-Kaladze : not tested .
Even if sometimes im over critical, it doesnt mean im soooo negaitve.... Im just trying to find any space for improvement to our loving team :devf: ! So my negativity is actually a very realistic point of wiew on football. Anyway, i just wanted you to know im not being just negative, but trying to get absolutely the best from our team. Forza Milan :gun:
Im sorry, but your negativity is not realistic at all. if the players had your attitude in the last two games we played we would be 11 points behind Juve today. and if it were up to you cafu wouldnt be able to produce the countless classic performances he is going to this season.
This whole luck issue is just a way for Capello to explain why his team arent as good as ours. Does anyone here watch Chelsea. They wait for the other team to make a mistake and then take advantage of it. Some of the luck they have had this season has been unbelievable. But how can a team that keeps winning week after week be called lucky. They cant, because they are rewarded for their endevour. Yesterday, Milan were constantly looking for an opening and finally found one.... or three. That was the difference between us and Juve yesterday. We were the better team and played great, to say anything else is an insult to the players.

This is what Berlusca said after the match, at least according to goal.com, that is:
"Juve Are Still Favorites-Berlusconi
10/30/2005 4:08:00 PM
AC Milan patron Silvio Berlusconi believes Juve are still favorites to win the Italian title in wake of the Rossoneri’s 3-1 triumph over the Bianconeri.
“I am happy with the result, but Juventus are still the favorites to win the title. They are still in front of us,” said the Italian prime-minister shortly after the final whistle.
“Two good teams played against each other tonight. It was a game with huge emotions,” he added.
Berlusconi also revealed he guessed the final score earlier in the day.
“Ancelotti called me in the morning saying he felt good and that Milan would win 3-0. But I told him we would win 3-1, as we would let the other team score a consolation goal, like a true knight,” he said."
I like that last paragraph very, very much :)

I was surfing around the juventus forum and it's quite chaotic with arguement and disagreement. It's music to my ears :delol:
Juve fans seems to blame mainly on capello for the lost which they stated that he played in a wrong formation, wrong players or tactically being outwit by ancelotti.
Apart from that they blame their keeper for the mistake.(pirlo feekick)
Like I said before the match that the midfield is the key to the match and without a doubt that Milan win it there as we have more bite and desire to win the match.
Before the match, I have to confess that Juve might have the upperhand with players of emerson and viera calibre.....but I was wrong
Finally we won without our stealth bomber.

Actually, like I said, my attitute is NOT PESIMISTIC, but just very real and if you want to have 100% of your team, you have to look at the little details and not just be happy and think everything is beautifull and perfect after a win. Team always needs improvement, so does milan. You say Cafu will produce countless classic performances this season, i really hope you are right, so far he didnt( this season). Still, Cafu is a true sport legend. As I said at the beggining, we played great game, no doubt about it, outclassed juve. Im just saying some things can get even better. Whats wrong with that? Anyway, this is just a polite discussion as always here at MM. Forza Grande Milan :respect:

nobody realise that capello's team always lose to ancelotti? except for that game last season when we lost to juve and drew in turin, ancelotti have always get maximum points against capello's roma or juve. ancelotti would always outwit capello.
Good Match!!
But Just abit concerned about Stam's technical defending, no doubt he is probably one of the best in terms of physique, but I noticed too many times he put players onside and also unnecessarily drifted out of his position to get into the thick of the action when all he had to do was keep wide right and let Nesta and Maldini do a job there were quite capable off.
Also the two strikers weren't holding the ball up too well for me, i think they are too similar and Gila and Inzaghi shouldn’t be on the same team.
But other than that it was good. Now for PSV.

Nice point about Stam and tbh your right that he's tactically not as intelligent as others (but then again, Maldini and Nesta are outstanding tactically, so he may look worse than he is).
To be honest, in the end he was brought into Milan for his physical attributes, rather than tactical guile, as we lacked big strong and maybe intimidating defenders in the squad (someone who could physically deal with the likes of players like Adriano). For that reason, I'm willing to overlook the slight tactical weakness of Stam.
To be honest, I think its unfair to single out Stam for that one error. Maldini and Nesta have also made mistakes. All three of them are amazing.

I am completely emotional, and estatic for this victory! I have only seen the highlights, and read reports, but rain or shine, hurricane or earthquake, I will see the PSV match tomorrow!
What a game! From all reports, we played as a TEAM which for me is the most important thing.
Lets home those players who get the nod in Eindhoven recall hte fortitude, team spirit and bravery that gave us this victory, ended Juve´s unbeaten run, and put more goals past them than any team this season in Italy. (How much did Bayern beat these so called unbeatable Zebra´s anyway? Dont care!!!)

MILAN: Dida 6, Stam 6,5, Nesta 7, Maldini 7,5, Serginho 6,5, Gattuso 7, Pirlo 7, Seedorf 6,5, :pr115: Kakà 8, Inzaghi 5,5, Vieri 5, Gilardino 6,5. Ancelotti 7

From The Guardian:
Milan give Old Lady the mother of all beatings
Having seen the team he owns give Juventus a hiding, modest Italian premier and AC Milan proprietor Silvio Berlusconi took the credit and announced his plan to someday manage the team, reports James Richardson
Tuesday November 1, 2005
As Jessica Lange and Jack Nicholson proved in The Postman Always Rings Twice, there's nothing like a little top-of-the-table one-on-one action to get the juices flowing. Saturday night's visit by Juve to Milan certainly did just that. A bona fide top-of-the-table six-pointer, the match saw Milan rip their lauded rivals apart, opening a veritable can of shock and awe on the supposed tough guys of Serie A.
Juve had won all nine of their matches coming into this game, but as you've probably read elsewhere, Milan didn't just break their unbeaten streak, they trampled all over it, smashed it repeatedly against the wall and then ground the fragments into the dirt under their fancy Italian heels.
Led by an inspired Rino Gattuso, a man who took his duties so seriously he eventually had to be taken aside and told to calm down by Paolo Maldini, Milan were all over La Vecchia Signora like a sailor on payday; attacking every ball, flying in to every tackle. They may have been gifted the first goal through a lucky deflection, but even Juve had to admit that there was only one team in it.
Surprisingly, Milan won the game in the midfield. All season, we've been hearing about Juve's world-class partnership of Emerson and Vieira, but they swiftly found themselves outclassed and out-passed on Saturday. As a result, Trezeguet and Ibrahimovic never got a look in. By half time the closest Milan's keeper Dida had come to conceding was a suicidal back-pass from team-mate Serginho. Down the other end, meanwhile, the Rossoneri had already taken a three-goal lead. And if they spent their half-time break celebrating in the locker room, at least this time they had the good grace to keep a lid on it.
After the break and the obligatory reminders about Istanbul, a strangely subdued Fabio Capello threw on Adrian Mutu and eventually Alex Del Piero, but all Juve could muster was a lone goal from David Trezeguet - one which ties Monsieur Trezegol with Michel Platini on Juve's all-time scoring charts, but otherwise didn't help much.
So 3-1 it ended, leaving Juve a measly two points clear of the Rossoneri, instead of the tasty eight-point lead they'd been gleefully anticipating before kick-off. Moreover, Milan have picked up a huge boost to their battered confidence - previously the Istanbul Bottlers, they are now back in the groove.
Certainly Milan Supremo Silvio Berlusconi was in buoyant mood after the game, hosting the Juve chiefs of staff to a truffle-laden dinner (these are the same Juve personnel that, according to rumours in Turin, Berlusconi is eyeing up to replace his current mob at Milan).
"This was just a friendly dinner," Silvio told shivering hacks when he emerged sometime after 1am. "Juve and Milan are both great clubs, the only difference being that Milan have something called Berlusconi. You can be snide about it if you like but the facts speak for themselves. Over the last 19 years, with me running things, Milan have been more successful than any other club in the world. That proves something!"
It certainly does. Leaving aside the fate of the country under his tutelage (clue: it's not been quite as sharp), Berlusconi next revealed his dreams for the future of the club to the hushed assembly. These include the return of Marco Van Basten as manager and more besides. Much more.
Although he controls Italian newspapers, supermarkets, giant slabs of industry, state and private television, not to mention the government, Berlusconi was only ever forced to give up the presidency of his football club to satisfy the conflict of interests laws. Small wonder, then, that he still wants to expand his portfolio: "If I ever took back Milan I wouldn't be just the president - I'd have to be the manager too. That's always been my dream. Don't forget," he called, as someone wheeled him away into the night. "I've always been a revolutionary."
While Berlusconi was off mapping out Milan's new frontier, Juve were refusing to panic - at least publicly. Still, high on Capello's worry list must be their continued problems between the posts, where both Christian Abbiati (on loan from Milan and absent with a timely bout of tonsillitis on Saturday) and Antonio Chimenti have looked risky at best. First choice keeper Gigi Buffon is still recovering from a shoulder injury picked up against Milan back in August, and while he's stepped up his training, he still won't be back until the start of December ... much to the delight of Juve's near rivals.
Of course, whether that group involves anyone but Milan is still open to question. Supposed 'third force' Inter have already parked their campaign bus in the usual spot - right by the brink of collapse. Last Wednesday's 3-2 home defeat by unfancied Roma was swiftly followed by two-game bans for Sebastian Veron and manager Roberto Mancini - the brains of the Inter operation, on-field and off.
Meanwhile the press are talking up the Adriano v Everyone Else split after the Brazilian missed training yet again on Friday, before turning in his worst performance of the season in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Sampdoria.
Like an errant schoolboy, Adriano has promised to "try harder for Inter", or at least signed the piece of paper that the club's press officer had written to that effect, but all is still far from happy at the club.
In the meantime Fiorentina have glided past Inter into third place thanks to their 2-1 win over Cagliari. However, since this was Fiorentina's worst performance of the season, according to manager Cesare Prandelli, this is no time to start dreaming: "Believe me, until Christmas our target is avoiding relegation and that's that," he told reporters post-game. "We're only this high because Luca Toni [12 goals in 10 games] can't stop scoring. We're just a small squad, but if the club want to open their chequebook at Christmas, then we'll see."
Masterfully done, Mr Prandelli. In the meantime, Fiorentina face their first real test in two rounds time, when they host the rampant Milan. Before that, we'll find out on Saturday whether Inter can bounce back from their latest reverse when they face Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. As luck would have it, that's this weekend's match on Bravo. Hopefully it'll live up to the exceptional quality of the last few games we've had, in what is shaping up to be a vintage Italian season. See you here next week.

haha keep on dreaming berlu.
fortunatly, he's a clever man, as he pointed out we have had massive success under him, so he's not going to think he can manage the team. :D
i hope he eventually gets ousted as the prime minister though. it's a ludicrous state of affairs and the power has gone to his already humungous head.

If he ever does, he will probably go to jail.
Anybody else watch the game on GOL TV in the US? I was so annoyed by the commentator. He kept repeating that Milan's goals were very fortunate. Its like Juve is a very unlucky team. And anyway, Milan played better than Juve the full 90 minutes, so that commentator can't say that Milan didn't deserve the three points.
