View Full Version : Members deleted
I haven't been here that often recently, but were a whole host of members deleted who hadn't posted in years?
I noticed a few were now "guests", including some who had made loads of posts.
We've been talking about pruning members who've never posted or those who have been inactive for YEARS but haven't yet. I think members have the option of setting their presence as beign Guest instead of having their names showing in the Who's Online list. How else do you explain 5 members being here and over 100 Guests? :3band:
I just noticed that a few of my old friends, when I happened to be looking through the most posts section, had disappeared even though I knew they had far more posts than me but hadn't been around in years.
Wilmot seems to be a "guest" now, just noticed. what the F is that?
Same with Wenjie and nonleaguer, two old friends who hadn't posted here in a long time
If this forum is set up the same as XT is or was, you can set your profile so you read as GUEST. It's a privacy thing. Hello...I already explained that. If it bothers you so much, why not PM the people you've mentioned? No members have been deleted or removed.
Didn't bother me too much, just an observation

Just a question. If these posters comes back, will they get their status back. I see some of them have make great contribution with their posts. They makes great posters but unfortunately they are not around due to life commitment or something.
I think I found out what the problem was, it may be tied to all old posts in this forum having been deleted. so the ones that have not posted the last year have turned out to look like "guests".
People that have not logged in over 12 months have been deleted. If they've not been here for 12 months, they don't really care about this place anymore.
Posts over 12 months are also gone. Steps needed taking to try and speed the forum up for other posters, and to enable us to move the database in the future if needed.
