Well, the San Siro slamfest is over, now we welcome Messina to the devil´s den on Sunday.

I look forward to an attacking display from a team eager to recover from the loss to our city rivals.

The game isnt live on any US channel, but I think a Brazilian station will be carrying the game. I will watch it at my friend´s house(the one with a zillion sattelite dishes). :D

FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!

Lets get the fight for second place started!!! :rocky:

Oh, and for those in the US...goltv has the game live at 9am.

most impt is to keep a clean sheet, 2-0 would be fine...

i pray that milan goes into mechanical mode soon, with 100% efficiency at grinding out wins when flair and luck deserts the team..

2-0 is fuss-free, no media frenzy..personally...i feel milan plays best when the team is settled with no distractions from the media trying to hype up the team with lotsa expectations..

let the world concentrate on juve slaughtering other teams with 4-0/5-0 margins, a win is still worth 3 pts..milan would go about doing its own business with relative calm within the camp..

this is also how italy fares in big occasions, they play best when they are the relative underdogs in terms of team expectations..

please please i hope milan overcomes everything and slowly find their stride again..

1 step at a time..lets begin with messina..a clean sheet please..

yeah this is a must win for us to boost our confidence. expect us to start the game very aggressive and to take advantage of our chances. i hope we start with stam and nesta in the middle, and serginho and janku at LB & RB. since cafu departure, we havnt been able to attack through the right side. i know janku usually plays left, but he should do find at the right side.

forza milan!!

I think this is the answer some supporters here are loooking forward to in terms of set-piece issue. Not the most fantastic one but at least it makes sense to me:

"MILANELLO - Carlo Ancelotti held his pre-game press conference ahead of the Messina game but first answered questions on the Champions League draw: 'Did I say we would get Bayern? I can’t remember, I am not a prophet. Bayern Munich are very stimulating opposition, we’ll have to be at our best. It was an unfortunate draw, more so for Bayern than Milan. They have changed a lot of players since we met them in 2002 and they are stronger, it will be a fascinating and spectacular encounter even if German sides are very physcial and solid. Milan made a great impression when they won in Munich in 2002, it was a sign that we were building a great side, that victory made us understand that Milan was strong. Milan are much stronger now. That season we were out of the running for the league but even if we have made a few slip ups we know it’s still a long campaign and we want to be part of it.'

On Dida and Vieri:

Ancelotti then turned to the team in general: 'We’ve got over the derby defeat and have been training well all week. We are ready for tomorrow and we have to get over this period which set us back a bit. We want to close 2005 with two wins. Dida is a very balanced person and has managed the difficulties really well and hopefully they will be resolved. It’s true he has made some errors in recent games but he’s still a very capable goalkeeper. Then, a goalkeeper has a very particular role and it’s difficult to change things and I never think of doing that when they are happening. However, he has to improve even if he is used to doing well. I think it’s something he can resolve in a relaxed manner. Vieri is a different discussion because I think he is going through a good moment but he hasn’t had the possibility to play consistently but has done well when called upon. Dida, for his part, has made some mistakes but has to stay confident. We all have confidence in our goalkeeper. They haven’t been big errors just isolated incidents. We can’t talk about things being a consequence of something else. He made an error at Adriano’s free-kick but the others weren’t mistakes. It’s not true that a goalkeeper needs to come off his line every time the ball is played into the area because sometimes it can create problems with so many players in there. We have had a chance to look at Dida’s errors and the other things this week.'

This game has turned into a must-win now, especially that Juve have dropped points against Lazio. We must win to decrease the difference to 9 points. We must react. Juve will not slip up that much

Yea, since Juve has dropped two points, we simply HAVE TO take advantage of the opportunity to edge closer

Maldini is sidelined due to injury, which means the we are going to have Cafu, Nesta, Kaladze(Billy), and Serginho at the back!!! Does anybody know if we are missing any more players?
And also, I've heard that Carletto is not happy with Dida's recent run of form. Is Kalac going to start for this one or is it going to be Dida again?

all in all good victory, Pirlo was probably man of the match

No, there was no diflection at all. Looked like there was one because the GK had no idea where the ball was and went chasing ghosts.
Very good game by Milan with few lapses in defence when it mattered - Sculli almost made it 1-1 in the first half after Sergio had left his zone unmarked. Apart from that, we had a solid game in the back - with a pretty inventive back 4 of Simic, Stam, Kakha, Sergio - and showed a good bit of creativity up front. Kaka even scored a goal that should have counted for it was a Messina defender that kicked the ball to Kaka, who was in an offside position.
Pirlo's new way of taking free kicks is really paying off with him having scored 4-5 already this season. Simic and Kakha also had a very, very solid game at the back.
Welcome back to Ambro. His comeback will give a boost to the whole team, IMO.
The most important thing is that we don't seem affected by the string of bad results in the Serie A, and with Juve drawing with Lazio, we are 9 points behind, with still more than half a season yet to be played. Should we keep our guard high, the point diff will soon start getting smaller and smaller.

Forza Milaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan !!!!

if we wnt to catch juve we need to win next 6-8 matches and hope someone injurs juve, somehow. Yesterday Lazio had a clear penalty and nothing happened..... Serginho really looks bd at man marking, for a few games he looked ok, but now he is starting to drop again.

I meant that Vieri has turned out to be a bad buy.
I meant 'story of his season'.
I am confident that Milan, when on form, will be able to catch up with Juve and mount a serious challenge in Europe.

Good win. More important than the 4 goals scored was the clean sheet kept at the other end. We finally defended with a little bit of confidence and you could see the new defensive system for free kicks in action. Each player took a man and stuck with him and it seemed to work well.

In attack we were brilliant Kaka's run's were causing all kinds of problems as were Pirlo's precision passes. Shevchenko's second goal was an absolutely brilliant passing move involving Kaka', Shevchenko and Gilardino. Pirlo's freekicks continue to amaze and bewilder me. I don't understand how it is possible for a ball move like that. It's a thing of beauty. Glad to see Ambrosini and his fighting spirit back he looks like he's recovered from his injury. We could have scored six at the end but it was clear that when Bobo come on everyone was trying to get the ball to him. He actually didn't do such a bad job today had a well taken shot saved.

Good performance, now we need one more win before the break to keep the pressure on Juve. We must not give up hope on the scudetto!

FORZA MILAN!

until the defence isn't settled once and for few years at least, we should hope to score at least one goal more than the opposer. In other words, our defence is officially a joke therefore we should try to score as much as possible

Good game, and even more important, a clean sheet.

Saw the game delayed last nite (Goltv changed the live match to Inter...stupid :yuck: ), and was impressed with Kaladze and Stam in the middle...we looked pretty solid, even on set pieces, though to be honest, we didnt give them many opportunities..

Glad we won, now we have a tricky tie vs Livorno...hmmm...

With that comment, and the fact that we are a team full of stars, and getting a lil complacent.... reminds of me of Real's downfall :/ i hope that we will find our balance in defence soon..

and yeah, ambro was back and played well!! i was really happy for him :) he really made a diff when he came on.. he should start vs Livorno in Gattuso's place, and maybe we can finally give Marek a full game?

i think Real was far more unbalanced. Remember: until the CL semis last year our defensive record was excellent either in CL and Serie a. I think not only the defenders are those to blame cause it's clear our defence is more exposed and can't cope with all the attacks made every game. But i'm confident because our team key players are still young (Pirlo, Gattuso, Gila, Kakà, Sheva etc.) and we need a couple of players to strenghten the whole building, not a revolution.
