View Full Version : Will Carlo be sacked if we don't win UCL/Serie A this season?

Last season was not bad, we were in the Scudetto race until the end and got into the CL final, where we suffered one of the freakiest defeats in football history. But still, the fact is that we ended up without any important silverware in 2004/2005.
This season has been dissapointing so far, we are already lightyears behind the Zebras and it seems very likely that they will get the Scudetto again. Our chances seem very slim.
So that leaves only the CL. If we win it, then Carlo's job will be safe for another season at least, no doubt about that. But if we don't? Would Berlu tolerate two seasons without a big title in a row? Or would it mean the end of Carlo's era?

Personally I'm quite sure that if we don't win the CL, then Carlo will be kicked out (or maybe he will resign voluntarily, knowing that his time is up anyway). We are pretty much blown our Serie A campaign already, so it's all or nothing now: UCL or failure.

yeah- if we fail to win anything he will get sacked. berlusconi was kind last year, as for keeping him.
the scudetto isnt over yet though- we managed to get hold of them with 8 points of disadvantage. if we can get back 8 points without counting the juve-milan game then we can tie them........

if we don't win anything this season i think Berlu will sack Ancelloti, that's my opinion

I dont think so, unless Van Basten wins the world cup, then retires from the job as manager of Holland...which is quite unlikely.

Erikkson is a possibility, or Donadoni....but I think Berlu will stick with Carlo, unless someone much more to his liking becomes available...

If Carlo was sacked, and if Galliani is to be believed, then it would mean Galliani leaving as well...something even more unlikely.

If we don't win anything I would say 60% chance he will be sacked. Warro is right about waiting for someone big but owners including Berlu have never been too patient no matter what they claim.

Lippi might also be an option, considering that Ialy will probably fail this summer again as usual.

Actually he might be a pretty decent choice. He sure has experience.

Lippi? No thanks. Ancelotti is 100% gone if we win nothing. Galliani is the ONLY reason he is still coach. Galliani did the same with Zac, backed him all the way, Berlusconi had enough and sacked him. First is first, second is nothing.

Berlusconi ADORES Van Basten. A half decent tournament from the Netherlands will put Van Basten in pole position to succeed Ancelotti.

If we win one of the big 2, we cant possibly sack him. That would be unjust.

If Ancelotti does end up leaving at the end of the season, which for me atm is 50/50 and clearly dependant on our results at the end, Van Basten and also Donadoni both look to be very good prospects.

I can't believe how good Donadoni is doing as a manager tbh.

it depends on how it happens. Last season, we where almost top when we got beat by the one team we were chasing, effectively ending the title race, then in the CL, winning 3-0 against a pretty average team and throwing it away. It all happened at once and in such a galling manner that it did seem like the end of the world.

Personally, if we go out to Chelsea or Barca or someone like that in the CL, playing well, and Juve continue to march on and we finish second, as long as our preformances have been good Carlo will probably stay.

If our preformances remain inconsistent, or we throw another massive advantage away in the Champions League then he's on his bike and, maybe, he should well be.

However if Van Basten or Rijkaard become available then he'll have to win either the CL or Serie A to keep his job.

Yeah, in honesty the kind of reguard Berlu holds Marco in might be good for the club. I can't see him telling him what to do so often. Remember, he sacked Sacchi when the two fell out, how often does the manager get the boot to appease the player?

I will try to stay out of this debate, not because I love Carletto, but because I feel like Van Basten is yet to prove himself! Yes, he has been doing a decent job with Holland so far, but we'll see what he is made of in the World Cup
