Is it really true or just rumours?

If so, why is Milan so interested in São Paulo's players? Cafú, Leonardo, Serginho, Kaká and now, Amoroso and Lugano. Can't Milan just look for its new players somewhere else?

Welcome São Paulo, please check the thread below

I won't comment much on that issue, it can't be easy for São Paulo or any team's fans to see their stars leaving...its the reality of football, especially South American football I guess.

Thanks!

About this issue, Amoroso was supposed to sign the new contract today (after the World Club Championship, Amoroso asked for signing for more three years instead of one, and São Paulo accepted). And then, he simply didn't show up today and all this Milan stuff has come up.

I bet Leonardo is the major responsible. And you guys shouldn't judge Amoroso for his age. He's a great player and could well play besides Shevechenko or even besides Ronaldo in Brazilian team (such as in 1999).

Best regards.

AC Milan is a important member of São Paulo Fan Club.
Since 1993 World Championship when lost to us, they see a player with our beatifull and glorious t-shirt and they want to hire him. Amoroso is an example, he was forgotten, was even in Italy a few time ago, but when he comes to Sao Paulo, Milan wants him more then anythink else in the World. They are fascinated by our team, they want to be us...
When the patetic Dida gave those 3 goals to Liverpool, and now Rogerio Ceni stops Liverpool atack in the World Club Final, Milan people think: we should had hired Ceni intead of Dida... Or instead of Vieri, because Ceni scored 21 goals last year...
Why dont you hire him, and Lugano and more 2 ou 3 São Paulo players, toghether with Amoroso, Cafu, Seginho, Kaka', and you will have your own São Paulo team, and them maybe you win something.

It's better lose players to Milan than, lose the Championship to Liverpool. It's a real reason to cry. Sorry for remember that. Maybe in the nest time you win, with our team dressed like Milan.

One lost CL final doesn't change the fact that Milan is one of the 3 most successful clubs in the whole world, while Sao Paolo isn't in top three even in South America. Actually, I am not sure if they are even in top 3 for Brazil only.
As I said, wipe the tears, blow the nose and grow up for whining won't make from a neighborhood team like SP a world giant like Milan. Nothing will, like it or not ... actually I am pretty sure you don't like it :5hoest: :5130:

With 3 Copa Libertadores and 3 Intercontinental Cups Sao Paulo is one of the top 3 clubs in South America. The problem with Amoroso is that he's one of the most injury prone players in the World.

Oh really? For Brazil, SP are the most successful club but as far as South America goes, fans of Independiente, Boca Juniors, Nacional M, and Penarol may actually have a point if they don't agree with you.
For those who still don't know what I am referring to, check out the statistics at the bottom of these sites:

Boca yes. Independiente were a big deal in the 70s. Nacional and Penarol last won the Libertadores in the 80s. Uruguayan clubs are no longer a force.

A club becomes a "giant" over a long period of time 50-100 years or so and not becuase of what they have done for the past 10-12 years or so, as is the case with Sao Paolo, for example. Barca won its one and only CL in 1992. Does that make them a mediocre club? What about Real who won 6 CL 50 years ago and then close to nothing for the next 35-40? Are they a mediocre club too? I hate to say it, but how about Inter? It's been 50+ years since they won their 2 CL titles but they are still a major name on the European scene, aren't they?
I agree that uruguayan football - both at national and club level - is going through some tough times but that doesn't change the fact that Nacioanal and Penarol are still two of the most successful clubs of SA of all time. Same goes for Independiente - being a giant is not what success or lack of it you have had for the past 10 years or so, it's about tradition and success all interwined in one over a long, long priod of time.

Believe my friend, São Paulo has as much history as Milan.
We are one of the younger clubs (founded in 1935) and the for sure the most victoriuos of Brazil.
- We are 3 times national champions (this championship started only in 1975). Only other 2 teams are 4 times champions.
-We are 22 times RegionAL champions (a championship that is played in each region of Brazil, becaise the country is too big)
- 3 Libertadores da America (our CL)
- 3 World Club Champoinship
-and a few dozen of others: http://www.saopaulofc.net/1NOVO2.asp?PLC_map_001_c=03.01.05
About the Penarol and cia, before the 80 's , the brazillian teams didnt used to play sulamerican championships, because it was not considered important, and because of the same reason of the european clubs didnt like to play on Argentina and Uruguay: their violence and hostillity.
São Paulo has the BIGGEST private stadium in the world. http://www.saopaulofc.net/1NOVO2.asp?PLC_map_001_c=03.01.05
One of the best Trainig Centers in the world, Ronaldo comes often to recorver of his injuries, Ricardo Oliveira, Rivaldo, etc, etc
So, try to research a little more before saying that we are not a giant club, only because we are not european.

i dont understand whats your point of registering here?? ... do u actually think you can convince us that your better than us?? ... keep it to yourself and the SPFC fans and have a cigar over it if you want... point is... no matter where you go... other than brazil (infact other than sau paolo only) ... u say whos the better club... its milan...

dont make me laugh... ur comparing what u achieved to what we did?? ... how dare you put these two teams next to each other man. I respect sao paulo... theyre my favorite brazilian team, but honestly id rather watch paint dry than to follow the brazilian league...

al-feisaly in jordan has won ALOTTTT of local trophies... probably more than the 17 scudettos milan won... that means al feisaly are a bigger team??? gimme a break... oh and change your title because all your doing is provoking us, this is a milan forum you know...

oh lastly grow up, we dont need facts to prove were better... just know that you dont see milan fans searching for a SPFC forum if there is one infact just to show what we achieved over you, you on the other hand are so desperate for attention.... can we block this guy please, hes asking for trouble here

Hey, Brazilian league is way more competitive than the Italian one. In Italy, it's Juventus x Milan x Inter. Here in Brazil, we have at least 12 teams capable of winning the National league.

However, I agree that Champion's League is more important than Libertadores Cup due to the fact that it's a challenge between Brazilians and Argentinians, while in Champion's League, we have English, German, Italian, French, Spanish, etc teams.

And Milan isn't so superior. The match agains't Liverpool is a good example. I know it's hard for you to remember, but let me show you the scores:

Milan 3 x 3 Liverpool (Champion's League 2004/2005)
São Paulo 1 x 0 Liverpool (World Club Championship 2005)

Milan 6 times european champion will win the achievement of all other club in this world.Only Madrid are better...(maybe)Remember playering in europe will we much more competative and toughter that any other league in the world.that mean also like first class football or world class. Milan achievement since founded is better that liverpool,Juve, barce,MU or any club.Maybe if milan is playing in south argentina Milan maybe already won more that 50 league cup.......the quality is different

1-Liverpool fans dont think that way....

2-I'm sure you would be complaining on the SãoPaulo foruns if we hired Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaká and Shevshenko of your team.

3-Can you just Admit that you are a half-SãoPaulo team. Specially after the WorldCup, Lugano (the best defensor in the world) may go too, then there will be 5 of our players, only to talk about the current team. I dont think it exists between any other 2 teams in the world. Just admit that, partners.

kris...why do you allow SPFC´s post to upset you so? This is a public forum, and he hasnt been rude (not that I have seen at any rate)...he is just sharing his opinion on his club.

The fact is that he has a much different view from yours (ours), and as such, we shouldnt be telling him to leave mm...however, you are free to air your views as well...lets just try to get along, can we?

Yes Sao Paolo is a great club..is it a greater club than Milan? Lets argue constructively...define the parameters as to what makes a club great, and then use historical facts to prove your case...simple as that..

Lets try to be nice to our guests...(I know its hard sometimes, but, politeness is always the best way to go...IMO)..I mean, lets ask him something like:

So when do the views of Liverpool supporters matter when it comes to assessing the greatness of a club? thats a polite, yet witty response to his post...:D
