View Full Version : serious opinion
hello my friends!
this is my first post, so iīll write all i have in my mind
first, let me say to you that i am vey disappointed with the actual situation AC Milan is facing.
for me, this all started when we lost CL...what a shame!! this was the first time that i felt very embarassed with football.
nothing was done in the pre-season and now ACM is very weak ....
I agree with Berlusconi when he said Ancelotti should stay because there wasnīt better coaches at disposal...(letīs see after the World Cup) but perhaps the person who deserves to leave is Galliani. his time has passed. we saw others general managers of other teams buy players that the club needed and Galliani is expecting that Costacurta (39), Maldini(37), Cafú(35), Stam(33), Serginho(34) last forever!!
Maldini is our symbol but his knees are very bad..he canīt hold the entire season;
Cafú and Serginho are very quick but not for 90 min;
Stam is very slow and is is NOT a right defender!!
ACM bought for defense: Jankulovsky - heīs a very good player but his injured was too long. heīs one option only for season 06/07
For midfield: Vogel - i think Dhorasso was better
For attack: Vieri - come one people, only because he was free we must buy players who no longer can play?! his left didnīt surprise me...and the excuse is not the world cup!!
Gilardino - the "only" signing ACM did; and i thought he wasnīt coming... much burocracy in the business
now, in the winter market we saw a lot of movimentations but none of ACM.
this period isnīt the best for buy players...they must think before the season starts. as they didnīt buy defenders in July, now we must wait until summer (and this season is for the garbage). I donīt think ACM could win the CL...or the Serie A...maybe the Italy Cup.
Milan could only buy 3 types of players:
italian players; brazilian players; players who can play in Serie A
in my opinion, this are the major characteristics to buy a ACM player (or magical players like Sheva :) )
we need:
- one right defender (for me Mancini -Rome- is a younger Cafú but Galliani is thinking with his "hair" and he maybe goes to Juve!!)
- two central defenders the news talks Chivu -I like him; Cris - i donīt know very much but i think heīs good; Barzagli and Terlizzi - donīt know either;
i would try to buy Kompany / Chivu (or Bonera)
- one midfielder (they lost Marchionni; Galliani is so old!!;
Maybe they try Pizarro - Inter; Diana - Samp; Esposito - Cagliari; Tavano - Empoli (appears to be a good player) )
Ok my people enough of writing!!
this is mt sincerely opinion about our Club; I love him but we must be realistics.
See ya ;)

i think you have some points and we can't deny it anymore.
the transfer market has been simply wrong, i think we have underestimated the decline of our defence (we had some signs of it in some matches last season and in La Coruna the season before, but until the form of some key players and esp Maldini lasted we coped with it) and possibly the terrible psychological wounds of the post-Istanbul era.
I've been a tough defnsor of Ancelotti, but i reckon that a change is about to come after the WC. We need new ideas and sometimes the change is needed in itself, after 4/5 years. Costacurta said that after many years the players don't follow a coach like before.
But the key problem is our midfield, not just the defence. We can't cope with the attacks anymore, and we are too dependent on Gattuso's form. I think we should change playing system in the future with a new coach (Van Basten? Rijkaard?), keeping some of our characteristics (ball possession etc.)
Welcome to MilanMania Flamy. Your first post is quite good. You got the top dog Gio responding to it so it must be important.
I would disagree with your opinion on Galliani however. I think in regards to the accuisition of players, the main person for that in Milan is Ariel Braida. Now the mysterious Braida whom no one talks about is the mover and maker in all stuff pertaining to Calciomercato. Sometimes he's hot... sometimes not. But he has such a low attention persona about him that many will blame Galliani, Berlu, and whomever the coach is on the reason why or why not we got or didnt get a certain player. If anything I think his (Braida) time is up in Milan. Of course who knows what can happen??? Braida has pulled some of the best tranfer coups in the history of club football. Would be ashamed if we let him go.
Thank you:)
i understand your point of view and you are right in some things; Braida is our football director and Galliani our Administrator;
Braida is the person who close the negociations with the players or agents, but who really decides is galliani. ACM has a good short list of players. i try to write those who possibly will be signed.
in my opinion Galliani doesnīt have "youth spirit" from the past...Iīm not saying that they most buy all the players that play good, but to INVEST. this team was CL, Serie A and Cup winners; but how about refresh the team with some 2 or 3 first team players? only Gila...
it reminds me when ACM were a team to play for the second half of the table , remember?? they had old players like Boban, Chamot, Albertini, Rossi
we need fresh blood, players who havenīt won nothing...motivation is very important in todayīs football. in just one month they get rich, understand?
my hope is Luciano Moggi...for me the best signing ACM could have. letīs pray (if God is seeing our posts maybe he offered him to us9 :) :)

Hello,
Just watched the Lazio v Milan game, and i have to admit i am very very disapointed. Not in the fact that we did not win, but just in the way the team is playing. I dont know about you but i am stuggling to c any light at the end on the tunnel these days regarding milan. i am just going to get my opinions out, because i feel reall anger if i do nothing.
I dont think the coach is able to motivate the players the way he should, there seems no urgencey in there play, no thrust, not cutting edge. do you remeber milans 3-1 victory in turin a few seasons ago, we had a purpose then, a drive, a will to win. we knew we where the best team in the land, not just a shadow of its self.
Seedorf has been great, but he tends to loose the ball too easy, when he is on form, he is outstanding, when he isnt - he simply isnt good enough.
Gattuso, outstanding passion. but passion isnt everything in football. you need skill and composure. if he coould add some skill to his game, i have no doubt he is a future milan captain.
Kaka is class, but i think he needs a rest. let him recharge his batteries so he is in top form for games against Bayern.
Defence - WE NEED SOME DEFENDERS! i dont care who comes in, we need players to cover for the like of maldini and stam. i know milan will buy players in the summer, but why did they not buy defenders this summer. i think i know why. after that night in instanbul i believe the coach wants these players to put things right, buy showing the world they can win CL with this team. will i admire this, i think it was a bit foolish.
I hope milan can pick them selfs upa nd show what a good team we are. i am not too worried about serie a, as that is gone. I DONT WANT TO BE EMBARRASED IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AGAIN.
I know like a lot of you, the nights in Istanbula nd Deportivo willnever be forgotten, and nor should they, but they were DARK<DARK DAYS I NEVER want to be apart again.
COME ON MILAN, FORZA MILAN!

You know, as disappointed as I am with tonight's result, I thought we played a decent game. The defence seems to be slowly regaining some of its old confidence (Lazio didn't get many chances), and it was only bad luck that kept Sheva and Gila from scoring.
Now, I do agree with what has been said in this thread about bringing in new players and a new coach, but I also feel like this is "just one of those seasons," where things don't really go our way.
I'm sure we'll be back with a vengeance next season!

If we played decently today my name is Adriano Galliani...

I'm well aware that it wasn't Milan at its best, don't get me wrong. But it wasn't an awful performance either. We can't expect stellar performances during a rough period, but considering our results and the way we have been playing lately, I think this game was a tiny little step in the right direction, even if we didn't get the result we wanted. And from an objective point of view, getting a draw at the Olimpico isn't that bad.

Well, regarding the present season I guess you could be right, but only in that perspective.

First of all, welcome mate to MM,
After a big talk i had today, with other Milanistas here in Greece, i came (we all came) to the conclusion that we desperatelly need a new coach.
We need a new motivation for the players, right now we just falling of the mountain and nobody do anything to stop the fall...And the joke of the story, is that we have Carlito tell us that everything is ok...
%@#%$!@!
Milan forgot too early that against PSV last year, we werent the ones that had to advance to the final. Both games, we played badly, but our luck was present. Everyone should question themselves for the reasons, but nobody did that. Not also after the final, that was clear that something wasnt right.
As for the boldman, hm...i dont think easy for his to step down. And i dont know much well the "inside facts" of our beloved club, to know if there are others that can take his position well. Don Silvio for me is far away from the club, and ok its normal as he is the prime minister (how much longer,hush :)). Who else we have?
Finally, when i read articles like that: http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/feb4e.html it seems to me that we dont have money.
Do we have to sell Sheva to buy more players? It seems a good joke :(

It is time for Ancelotti to leave. If only..Maldini could have taken his place...Milan would become the best again. Thats my opinion.

Sheva is not going anywhere, he stayes..thats what he said in the interview for some russian magazine..I dont remember the name. Sheva plans to finish his cariera in Milan. So it s not a joke then..it is wishful thinking
