Well if anyone here remembers this time last year, i also had a topic posted but it was about Cancun, and I was so worried of going to Cancun that I will not be able to watch the Man U vs Milan game, and ended up cancelling Cancun and going to Atlanta.

Now the time for spring break has come again, but this time its Cuba. Im not sure whether its going to be Varadero or Havana yet, but im looking forward to going there. Can anyone here help me out and tell me where will I be able to watch the Bayern Munich-Milan game? And the Chelsea-Barca game the day before?

Thanks alot.

hitmannq8...I do believe that they get ESPN Int..though I am not sure, that being a US station...I dont recall watching any football when I was there, except Mexican...as I was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too busy to think about anything but the beautiful women..and believe me..they will make you forget that a club name Milan even existed!

But your travel agent should be able to tell you more...one thing to note is that while Varadero is a better "vacation" location, Havana may give you more of an opportunity to see the game in a sports bar, or in the hotel itself...since that is the capital, and a big city, while Varadero is more of a resort area.

If you stay in an all-inclusive resort, say one of the SuperClubs chain, then they may offer ESPN int on tv in the rooms, but if you stay at a local villa, then I doubt it.

I have serious doubts that you will get to see the match live at all, but who knows?

Plus, I would be spending my time getting more familiar with the Cuban females than worrying about a Milan match (trust me, I am just saying that...I would be frantic to find the game, but after a cuba libre or two, I wouldnt be worrying about it too much)...:D

Enjoy Cuba my friend, and say hi to the beautiful Cubanas for me!! :D

Sure thing, but I really want to know if I can get the game.

I didnt go to Cancun last yr just cuz I thought I wud not see Man U game.

Warro i understand that the girls there are unbelievable and that is why i am going there, but still, my love for AC Milan is too much and I dont think i will be on the beach tanning during the game. I will go all over Cuba just to find somewhere, I will even swim to Jamaica if i have to! :P

Seriously speaking, Warro, im guessing that Cuba get the same TV channels that you get in Jamaica, so do you think ESPN will have the Milan game or the Real-Arsenal game? I know that ESPN always put English teams.

All the ESPN channels will have the Real Arsenal game :(

Even ESPN Int? They normally show a different match from the US channels...

Well I have a friend here that gets all manner of matches...he has like 4 satellite dishes all devoted to football, so I am sure I will get to see the match, even if the commentry is in Chinese, or Portugese....:dontkn:

I think the Brazilian channel will carry the game, though to be honest, I am not sure yet, and my friend wont know until the week of the match.

Suffice it to say hitmannq8, that I doubt u will get to see the Milan match in Cuba, but dont give up trying..u never kno...

However, if u so choose...we have plenty of girls, grass, and beaches in JA if u want to fly 90 or so more miles south!!

Well well well...ESPN has gone and messed up as usual...not even a delayed showing of the match..the programme directors must have seen Madrid vs Arsenal and said..ok, this is it, we dont have to show anything else this match day...

They are killin me!!!!! :moan:

But, I think setanta may carry it..and my friend gets that channel...so....hitmannq8..u r welcome to take a short 45min flight on the match day, from Cuba to Kingston, to see the match if u want!!!

(I will even pick u up at the airport)

Not sure, but I think we are on the same time, but check here to verify:

Good luck, and remember the invitation remains open, I will let you know if I am definately going to see the match..the only problem is that I wont know until a couple of days before the game...but I am almost 99% sure that I will be able to see it live.

Which channels are you depending on?

Warro Bantan

Cuba gets Eurosport, a channel that we dont get here, according to my satellite tv friend..so that is a possibility....but his advice is to get the hotel to tell you what channels they carry, then research on the net to see what match they will be carrying.

Regardless, he will call me back later today to tell me about our game, and the channels that will carry it. He says we might not get it live, but that we are definately going to get to see the game, though it may be SDD (same day delay). The thing is, that his set up is able to get stations (eg the Brazilian station that I saw the last UCL match we played in) that Cuba will not have..because he is pretty much stealing the signal...if there is such a thing...

Hope that helps!

So far I can only find a Canadian station (TLN) showing the game live which I cannot get.

I will get the following live

Madrid Arsenal (ESPN Deportes and ESPN2)
PSV Lyon (Setanta USA)
A email from my friend hitmannq8:

It is possible that TV Capixaba or some of the other stations that show champions league will bring that game but they have not made it clear yet. As of now I know the Bayern Milan game will be on ESPN Deported at 9pm.

hitmannq8

yea it'll be on Deportes but at 9pm.. and my hotel does have ESPN.. but I really dont know if i can last 5 hours without somebody calling me and telling me about the game, or without checking the game myself.. i think i might just look for an intenret cafe and see it through pplive..

That, my friend, is an excellent option, and if they have broadband there (which they should, in a resort area, or at least in the hotel) then u can see it via pplive I am sure...

Bless! And enjoy your trip!!

PS: Please please kiss at least one Cubana for me...they are soooooooooooooo beautiful!!! :D

In countries like Cuba, where fast Internet is a luxury few people can afford, there are Internet clubs available to the public. In the US, there aren't any of those that I know of but back home in Bulgaria they are all over the place and the price is usually more than affordable - less than $0.5/hour. The Internet connection in these clubs should be fast enough to sustain a good quality stream, not sure however if users are allowed to DL a streaming program like PPLive, for instance, but I guess you could always ask them to make an exception. Chances are they will be familiar with PPLIve and will know that it's not a virus or something like that so there shouldn't be a problem.
In case you can't get a SAT or Cable channel, and your hotel doesn't have fast Internet, I think these Internet Clubs, provided that they exist in Cuba at all, would be your best bet, I think.

Remember that Jamaica is always an option hitmannq8! I have pplive, and you are welcome to watch it on my laptop, or at my friends house, if we can manage to find it live via satellite...:D

i doubt i will be able to come to Jamaica..i think im just better off watching the game as a record..i'll try to watch it on pplive, if it works.. if not i'll just watch real-arsenal hoping the commentator does not give us live results of the other games..

YES!! I am so glad you found out hitmannq8!! I was just about to post here to let you know that ESPN deportes will be airing the game live!! I am happy that I will get to see it live, but even more happy that you can sip a cuba libre, with a beautiful Cubana on your lap, and enjoy the game as well!

No my friend...think positively...you will see the game, and Carlo will play the Xmas tree with Rui and Kaka, and we will dismantle them...winning by 0-3! Positive thinking!!!

If you r planning to come to Argentina, tell me how much r you planing to spend and i can tell you where to stay, but i think that you wont need to spend much to get a very good place. For people coming with dollars everything is cheap here, to bad that for us everything is more expensive every day, but you will enjoy here, maybe not too much Buenos Aires(my vision is the one of a guy that works downtown and sometimes i just get very tired of this city), but we have plenty of nice places like the Patagonia or Cordoba province. Just let me know if you want to know something.

Just ask the Cubn immigration not to stamp your passport, and they wont. I had that worry as well, but when I asked them not to stamp it, they didnt!
