View Full Version : Stop blaming anceloti!
i mean seriously stop blaming him,u expet him to do the same like 2 years ago?our defence is old as the time it self what do u whant him to do whit does expired players?gatuso only runs like a idiot i see no use for him in the club, sedorf can only last one more season wee have lets say hmm 8 good players on the field the rest well i said enought about the rest....
take it easy, my dear Andreea... I agree with you, it's not entirely Ancelloti's fault...
but can't call Gattuso an idiot... just say you don't like how we plays...
Most people agree that
1.- We need new/younger players, specially in defense.
2.- Top management has decided not get them during winter market, and we must pay the consequences (out of Coppa Italia, 3rd. place in Classifica far from Juve and Inter).
3.- We need changes in the summer, along with new players, maybe time for a new coach. Not because this season is Ancelloti's fault, but because after 5 years, it may just be a good time for fresh ideas.
Some people like Ancelotti's style of coaching, I don't, never have.
As soon as he walked into the squad, which was packed with high powered players, he had to complain that HE didn't pick the players, therefore HE was unable to coach them properly. As far as I was concerned, the team he inherited from Terim (and the players were bought by management anyway, not by Terim) would have been a dream team for any coach to inherit.
I think when people start to unload on the coach, it's for one reason--inability to change. We've all seen it. People said Zacheroni's team couldn't adapt to the tactics of other teams. Then they said it about Cesare Maldini's and so on, right down to Ancelotti. For me, maybe it's b/c I don't understand or that my own philosophy of what it means to coach a team is out of whack. To me, a coach should be able to say to his squad "Look, what we had planned to do is being read by the other team and they're blocking us left and right, so it's time to adjust." I never see that happen, and it's not just with Ancelotti. Apparently the team isn't allowed to say "hey, this isn't working guys, let's do something else." OK, so I don't understand coaching, so apparently you develop a plan and stick to it ad nauseum. Mea culpa!!
But there's something else you need to observe, hottie, and you can observe it in the Serie A, the Liga, the EPL, the NFL, you name the sport, as long as it has teams. When a team does poorly--and we'll define poorly as NOT meeting the expectations of the fans--the first person who gets blamed is the coach. Why? See above--it's the coach who makes the decisions as to how the team is going to play, chooses the lineups (don't get me started on some of Ancelotti's choices and decisions) and so on. In other words, the coach is the person on the front line and will always be the person who gets the blame, or should I say is one of the first people to get the blame...

Indeed, a new coach appears to be the most visible solution. However, Milan need to be cautious in selection. When Capello left after his first spell, there was a landslide. We couldn't even qualify for the Intertoto cup. Oscar "Georgetown" Tabarez needs no introduction. So, I propose one of either: a new coach, with slight improvements in squad makeup or stick with Carlo, but be more bold in revamping the team. Stability is essential.
gatuso only runs like a idiot ....
Since when has Rino become people's punching bag?? Not long ago everyone wanted him to be our next captain!! :angf:

Well, in truth, I have been (like Debs) among the initial critics of Carlo, but he has had the results to prove me wrong, and big time, for the past couple of seasons.
I have to admit that he has done more than most coaches have at Milan, and with a squad of players that he inherited...and while I wont necessairly agree that the squad he inherited from Terim was chock full of talent, and the envy of most coaches out there..he did manage to bring some long overdue silverware to the club.
No coach, since Berlu took the reigns at Milan, has really selected the squad on a whole...yet, fans and phans jump to point the finger at Carlo, when we lose.
Suffice it to say that most team based sports have, as a knee-jerk reaction from fans, derision of the coach for dissapointing results, and in this I agree wholeheartedly with Debs.
One criticisim I have of Carlo though, is his slow reaction time to events unfolding on the pitch. He rarely responds to a downturn in our fortunes with a rapid fire substitution (as he should have done in Istanbul, the Riazor, vs Samp and Lazio this season)..as some other tacticians would..(or at least I would :D )
As I have said before, I will continue to give him the benefit of the doubt until May...then..we will see what happens...good topic hottie...its about time that some here realise that the players who Carlo can do nothing with except bench (and even so, quite possibly to his detriment) are the ones that are underperforming...

Thats a very serious and veritable critic, giving us enough reason to want Carlo out.
I would agree whit u if wee have good substitutes, but i dont consider the full start team as a good one,and u see the subs on the bench well u figure it out.
And about this "Since when has Rino become people's punching bag?? Not long ago everyone wanted him to be our next captain!! " debs,i never consider gatuso as a good player ,i dont see anything good at him only cause he runs alot ,as i said before a skilled player is much better, and dont get me started cause he alaways comits stupid faults and stuff like that.
i mean seriously stop blaming him,u expet him to do the same like 2 years ago?our defence is old as the time it self what do u whant him to do whit does expired players?gatuso only runs like a idiot i see no use for him in the club, sedorf can only last one more season wee have lets say hmm 8 good players on the field the rest well i said enought about the rest....
Your typing was awful.
If Gattuso "the idiot" stopped running, then it would be disaster for Milan. And you don't see his use in Milan? :p146:
Seedorf probably will last more than just one season to come. :delol:
but I do like Ancelotti, and I agree with you that people should stop dumping all sh!t on him. He may not be the best, but he is definitely one of my best in my choices. and as you pointed out, currently we have no suitable alternatives even if Milan did want to replace him. ;)

Ohhhh...Ancelotti, Ancelotti!!!! I like this guy, even though sometimes he makes horrible mistakes and sometimes doesnt learn the lessons given...The problem in Milan (in my view) is that Ancelotti doesnt inspire the players anymore...Maybe its time for a new coach who ll inspire them, but where is a garantee that a new coach is going to deal with players and the team better than Ancelotti? There is no this garantee...Ancelotti probably should stay...but change the way of communication with players.

But why he is so ****in stubborn, that's what makes me mad about Carlo.
Sometimes Carlo goes on my nerves with not making changes, he see that our game is bad and he's not doing anything he waits for the 80-th min and then makes the changes i mean come on what can Janku for instance do for ten minutes??? He has to make changes earlier.
And he's not rotating the players enough that's what i'm blaming him for.

But it gets to me equally nervous when he makes changes and then we conceded goals... I mean... it's up to him to decide which tactics/lineup will produce the best outcome.
[QUOTE=hottie]gatuso only runs like a idiot i see no use for him in the club,QUOTE]
You seem to forget what Gattuso is all about, his style of play is unique and there are not many like him around. Where he lacks finesse he makes up with hard work, that goes a long way in my books. The champions league final against Juventus is a typiucal example, he was IMO and im sure in the opinion of others the man of the match. He is the one that can get the crowd going, the crowd can be the 12th man when needed. I disagree with you in this one.
what about last year final?..a player if he plays one macth good and the rest bad that dosen mean his good, but anyway this tread aint about gatuso its about not blaming anceloti ,cause its not his fault that our market strategy sux,and he has to do what he has to do whit the player he gets, and that makes him a good coah, but i whant better players in our team for anceloti to use,and i bet ul see the scudeto in the milan trofy room, and the champions league cup as well.
But it gets to me equally nervous when he makes changes and then we conceded goals... I mean... it's up to him to decide which tactics/lineup will produce the best outcome.
Yeah it's up to him to decide which lineup will produce the best but not always that happen, sometimes it doesn't work with the starting lineup so changes are needed and he makes them too late in the game.
And that we concede goals after the changes, i don't agree that is because of the changes, that's just a lack of concentracion from the team
cheers

Good point..He makes me mad when makes changes 10 minutes before the end of the game..whats the point? Doo them before or dont do at all...crap..
I guess Ancelotti also read our forum before todays game...lol :5schal:
ı dont like him
forza TERİM ;)
attacking Football..
Carlo knows more about that than any of us... otherwise, he'd be writing about one of us in this forum, and we'd be coaching...
errr, forza TERIM??? do you mean Fatih Terim??? the guy who tried to coach Milan about 5-6 years ago? before Zaccheroni???
I DON'T THINK SO...
Terim was after Zaccheroni, not before...
dosent realy matter ,anceloti stays :D
Hmmmm... A CL title, a Copa Italia, a scudetto, Super Copa Europa, Super Copa Italia... all in 3 years!
Yeah he sucks
 Time for a new coach
Seriously, Kui, if the squad doesn't produce under the beloved Carlo this season, I don't think it will be just the fans complaining. We're pretty flat this season and no one has figured out the problem yet. My fear is our flatness is going to carry over the the CL, and that's our last hope for anything.
Yes, waiting until maybe 5 or 10 minutes from the end of a game to sub in ...let's use Rui Costa for an example. That's stubbornness to the nth degree...or short-sightedness or....who can explain it to me?

I think this has to do with Carlo´s either:
a) Confidence in his selections or
b) His reluctance to change his POA (plan of action)...which in retrospect could be one and the same [ie a) = b)]...
Suffice it to say, that I (though an initial critic) have warmed toward Carlo, and as evidenced when mobbed by the team after scathing press reports, so have the players.
This for me, is the most important..that the players believe in him, his selections and his strategies.

That I agree wholeheartedly.
I doubt if it's ever Carlo's fault in Istanbul. 6 minutes of lax concentration... who on the world as a coach can prevent players from going insane for just 6 minutes? Mind you, 6 minute sof lax concentration + 6 minutes of extreme luck together. You don't see it happen very often (very rare). I don't think any one of us should blame Carlo for the lost, tbh... anyway~
I doubt if it's a matter of self-confidence in team selection. IF it is the case, then why try different solutions in the firt place, then pirlo became a DM, Gattuso MAY get into a RB etc?
That's why it sounds just so logical to me that whether you change it earlier or later does not make a difference UNLESS there is something wrong in the initial line-up. That's my thought.

You know what problem we may have? Carlo doesnt know how to loose, he was successful before and this is first time for him when it is that bad...Maybe he is just scared or frastrated and doesnt know how to act in this situation...which makes the situation even worst?

Can anyone update me about his time in Juventus? What leads Juve to sack him eventually?
And again, 'is just scared or frustrated'... is it your assumption or with evidence?

"According to the press Milan coach Fatih Terim has been told by Vice President
Adriano Galliani and the clubs directors that if he fails to win the Milan derby
on Sunday he will be given the sack despite the fact that Milan are only 3 points
behind league leaders Inter. Milan have been looking for an excuse to get rid
of Terim and appoint former Milan hero Carlo Ancelotti as coach. Ancelotti was
released by Juventus at the end of last season after guiding the Turin giants
to 2nd in the table. Galliani denied the claims :
"Milan have full confidence in Terim. We didn't have to repeat this but in light of
some newspaper headlines these words became necessary. I didn't participate in
yesterday's reunion (directors meeting) because I had other things to attend to.
I must make it clear that reunions like yesterday's are normal routine for us and
in no way is management trying to impose decisions on Terim. Terim is free to
make his own choices.""
Thats what I found in the inet....

"Juventus only sacked Ancelotti because they rebuilt the team selling Inzaghi and Zidane and purchasing Salas-Nedved-Buffon and Thuram. They wanted thought Lippi could bring back the 'old glory' (whatever that was)"
Thats an opinion from our website dated by 06-11-2001, 16:57, by DON REDONDO
I mean... given Milan's management in the past, it's difficult to hypothesize (or hypothesise if you are from the UK or the rest of the world lol) that they will say something like that to Terim. Just not Milan's style. My guess.

I know that he is ex Milan player....What, there no other possible candidates?
Why does it even have to be a former Milan player? Sometimes those with a past association are just too close, seems to cloud their perception of things. Only prerequisite, at least one that would make me feel more confident, is that the person knows the league to some extent. :5schal:
I think, as a former Milan player, will have a lot of adv, but this is quite specific to Milan. that is, a former chelsea player may not be a good coach for Chelsea, but a former Milan player may be a good coach for Milan.
This is becaues I think Milan has created a very friendly atmosphere, and that insiders who know how Milan functions will settle in quicker. This is what I thought.
the sooner ancelotti leaves the sooner we can start another cycle of success.
his time is up and the results are there for all too see over the past few seasons.
theres no consistency and we`re having to rely too much on the players form rather than ancelottis tactical nous to win us games.
i mainly blame ancelotti but also the directors for not bringing in defensive re-inforcements sooner.
Oops sorry... but I thought I would treat guys and gals in the same way. Equality, that is.Yeah, but remember that gals aren't guys, even though we have equal rights. It normal to fight among guys if somethings wrong, but would you fight a girl? :pp18: :undecide:
