View Full Version : Your fear

As for all discussions about what will happen in the off-season, what would you fear most that Milan could do? buying a player you don't rate? Not making a change where you think it is needed? Bringing in Souness as manager? ;) Preferable if you put out things that actually could happen...

for me:

1. Keep Cafu. He have been great for us, but I believe he have lost motivation and together with his physical shape I feel that with keeping him we will end up with the same problems on right back as we had this season. Get a new player here.

2. Buy Materazzi. Really please no!!!! Rumours are there, he is not needed in Inter... Still we can't do this can we?

Hope that anceloti doesent leave.

Bringing in Souness as manager?

A manager so bad he makes Glenn Roeder look like a tactical genius.

The thing i fear most is picking up a paper in late August and seeing the headline

Galliani: "Who cares how old they are? the defence is fine as it is !"

Carlo deserves to stay, but I wouldn't be surprised if he left... either to take on a team like Real Madrid, or Roma, etc. And Milan brought in either Van Basten, Donadoni or promote Tassotti.

My fear would be if we were surprised by a different coach than the 3 prospects above.

About players:

I'd be dissapointed if Gattuso left. The club would make him go, he'd go only if the wanted to. I hope he plays at Milan most of his carreer, and then back to the UK to finish it, but just when he's like 34 years old or so...

If the new defenders didn't adapt....
We will surely get more than just 1... and I pray to God we don't get Materazzi...
too much of an Inter symbol, too much of a bad player, period.

If Paolo Maldini didn't return...
I hope his knee can heal properly... I'd rather know he'll be out this entire month, but then back to normal, than see him struggle on and off...

If Billy didn't get a farewell like he deserves...
We know this is his last season, so he should be honored and recognized as an institution... he's a symbol, an icon... and deserves something the club has not done for Albertini to this date...

My single greatest fear for the off season would be the headlines that read:

Milan to sell Shevchenko to Chelsea for 200Gazzillion pounds! Ronaldo(or insert any other name here) targeted as replacement

SANT

There are things even worse than losing Sheva to Chelsea...
I do not dare write here about them.
With god's willingless Sheva will play well for many more years and
he will do so with AC Milan and Ukraine.

Agree. Gattusso has clout, not only physical, but motivational as well. Gattusso is an institution, per se. A hypothetical scenario is that Maldini retires, followed by Rino's sale to Man Utd. No leaders left. Look at Arsenal, when Vieira left, structure and leadership did as well. Veterans like Bergkamp, Pires, Cygan can't muster any direction. I fear the same predicament at Milan, as Shevchenko and Ambro are decent short term leaders, but long term leadership needs someone who has been primed for the captain's role. Forza Gattusso.

Character from the movie Usual Suspects.

I think I agree with most that my fear is just signing too many temporary players who have to replaced in a couple of seasons at best.

Keyser Soze - the cold-hearted and feared crime boss from "The Usual Suspects" - one crazy but very nice movie :D, a true crime bestseller, IMO.

Why fear? Milan rule !

Seriously, I fear the day Maldini retires, for he has been such a great captain and player for Milan !

Other fear is losing key players, but I hope the board will flush away that fear... :D

Materazzi, RJ, Zebina, Laursen......guys I hope our management won't use this as a source of ideas ;)
I wouldn't like to see these fellows in rossonero ever (or again, in the case of RJ and Laursen)...it would be a nightmare.
My biggest fear is that we don't find the proper people to refresh our defense in the summer....it's a huge task for our managment but I hope they can cope with it.

Sorry to be going back to the topic(since it seems you guys had fun with `Usual suspects`:)) but at the moment my fear is something which is not connected to transfers policy or re-buying Ibrahim Ba, Brncic ...to name the few.;)
I`m afraid of the possible re-play of the last year`s cl final. I`m not being pessimistic(even if it sounds so),i actually believe we can reach finals this year again, especially being that it`s what we are aiming for, but i hope that 3 silly `lack of concentration` minutes won`t happen again...
But, as the saying goes...lightning never strikes twice in the same place :)

You mean Kaiser Soze. SANT... I cant believe you never saw the movie. I dont watch movies at all and I at least know who Kaiser Soze is. I'm sure you have seen the movie so I totally understand if you may have not recognized it at first.

Anyway back to topic. My fear is not where this team takes us. I have learned to be calm in the eye in the storm. Milan may bring us victory or we may not win anything at all. I take it philosophically as if I'm trapped in the middle of the ocean on a raft and letting fate take me and this team where it chooses. My biggest fear is the other people on board b!tchin and moaning to a point of driving me mad, in the same manner some people here when things dont go our way. We are fans people. Our support can help and even then we are helpless in the result. So to complain and moan afterwords does no good. This is always my fear. Never the results but the reaction to it especially when it is negative. After so many years supporting this beloved team and through the bad times, I always dread the monday morning moan.

as much of an asset Pippo is, his age brings his price down more and more every year...

well its a pretty good topic,
Materazzi and Zebina in Milan will disappoint me a lot
also keeping Cafu and buying a player who is 28+ years old especially in the defence
maybe buying Ronaldo , depending on Simic , leaving Janku and Vogel and replacing Ancelotti by Donadoni
i think Donadoni aint well experinced for Milan , he is a good coach though !
