Gaucci accuses Juve and Mazzone
in channel 4 is noticied a post about another italian scandal:
Luciano Gaucci continues to spark scandals, as he now alleges Juventus had a deal with Carlo Mazzone to buy the 2000 Scudetto.
The title actually went to Lazio that year, as Perugia won the decisive match 1-0 after an hour-long break for a thunderstorm on the Stadio Curi.
“That game had been fixed,” claimed the former Perugia patron on Umbria TV. “Juventus were meant to win it. Director general Luciano Moggi had already made a contract with Mazzone (pictured) and our director Ermanno Pieroni so that they’d go to Torino the next season – which is where Pieroni ended up.”
As for why this supposed ‘deal’ did not go through as planned, Gaucci claims he intervened to ensure fair play.
“The year before I had been threatened by Lazio fans because they lost the Scudetto when Milan came to Perugia on the final day and won 2-1. So I went to talk to the players, though Mazzone tried to keep me out. I told him he was an employee and had to step aside.”
“I told the players that the game had been sold and that, if they did what had already been decided for them, then I would send the entire squad to China for two months to play meaningless friendlies. On their return, they would be relegated to the youth team so that everyone would know they had been bought off.”
Alessandro Calori scored the only goal of the game after the restart to ensure the Scudetto went to Lazio.
"I'm starting to get fed up of this man," slammed Juventus director general Moggi. "We lost the Scudetto at Perugia and did not go crying to anyone. What does Gaucci want? He should shut up instead of lying there with his belly in the air getting a tan in Santo Domingo."
This is the latest scandal that Gaucci has sparked after his allegations that Fiorentina tried to ‘buy’ the 2003-04 promotion play-off from Perugia and that five or six players accepted the offer. Viola patron Diego Della Valle and player Jose Ze Maria have announced legal action against the disgraced businessman.
have you noted that the last notices involve juventus´ directors or players?
- 3/4 years ago, Zeman accuses Juve medical department about the straight of juventus players ----(doping)
- Figo "asked" Moggi what he was doing in referee´s dressing room (i´m sure Figo isn´t crazy to invent something like this!)
- now this afirmation from Gaucci...
why FIGC doesn´t investigate this acusations? this is very bad for the credibility of italian football.. and it´s funny because Juventus is in the middle of all
