The same website which you dont like guys www.acmilan.ru gives following news:
"This week talks appeared about Crespo coming back to Milan in June. His price according to English newspapers is 5 million euro. Precisly this ammount was named by Abramovic. By the way its 100% already that with Chelsea being out of CL, Chelsea is going to make rotation of attack, in which there is no place for Crespo.
Galliani indirectly confirmed his interest in Crespo, saying that club this summer WILL make attack stronger. Most likely Amoroso will be sold and Crespo will wear red and black t-shirt again."
Is my dream coming true??? Crespo is going to be back??? WOW
TGcom said that Milan is going to buy also William Gallas and Oddo. Juve also are interested in Gallas.

we've got sheva, pippo and gila!!!

all of them are in a good form!

Amorosso? I doubt if he will have any value

crespo wud be so good with us. his combo with shevchenko and kaka is perfect.

i dont think he will be our transfer priority!

maybe some1 lot younger, some one like theo walcott (arsenal) who is just 16 would be perfect so that we can build him at the club.

as the player would be young he won't need alot of chances because he will be developing into a good player

but crespo news is definitely pleasing!

He costs just 5 million according to English newspapers. So its a good price for such player as Crespo. And Crespo's heart is with Milan. Thats very important as well.

we dont need attackers!
we f'ing need defenders and good ones

and all of our attackers are in form

we even can take attackers from our junior teams, I've heard they are good.

Everything is so expensive today, then why waste it on crespo. 5 mn pounds is huge!! we can use that to get a good defender like marquez!!

No need for Crespo as we already have Gilardino as his replacement this year....
We need Perea,Gallas and Chivu more than anything.......
And i wish for Ronaldinho as a 20 years celebration gift from Don Silvio.....

if crespo is available for that price then id definatly go for him, and mybe sell inzaghi who i never liked, or amoruso who didnt really get to see since he never gets the chance to do anything.

but if its true were moving in for gallas and oddo then id put them waaaaay ahead in terms of priority

yeah i hes been scoring important goals recently... but i never liked his style, i get a bad feeling everytime hes on the field, same as the one when laursen or roque jr came on... only pippo seems to score in the most important matches at the most important times... hes probably the luckiest player on earth, besides his contract for being injured alot, he scores when we all give up hope, respect for that but i dont like him!

if milan is gonna bring crespo, one of inzaghi and gila has to leave, we cant afford 4 high wage's strikers in one season!
also, i start to doubt gila's ability even though it is too premature to make judgement.
the best scenario is sell inzaghi and bring crespo, besides crespo is 2 years younger than inzaghi!
in regard to amoroso, noone should judge him as useless, since he only played for less than 2 matches for us!
we should have george weah junior in mind too. is he good?

Its not about unhappy Crespo...read more carefully! Its about Chelsea not having place for him there. Crespo doesnt decide anything, management does. Abramovic doesnt want Crespo, he wants Henry, Sheva or Adriano...he said it himself. Abramovic now decided to keep Mourinho and the coach also doesnt have place for Crespo there, he wants to see one of the same three in his team...
We have not needed Amoroso, who we definately selling this summer. So we have place for Crespo. At least our attack can be different and not tired (coz of variety of good attakers)

He brings good memories, but we already have Gila and Pippo to carry out the role he would. Id prefer someone who would give us more options. Some one big or some one quick and nippy.

what if Sheva got injuried for a month like this season? and i remember he missed some matches last season.
what if Inzaghi is tired and have to be subistituted , who will take his role if we dont have Amorouso?
and who is the striker who can wait till the injury of the strikers or they being tired and wait for cup matches? Henry?!
Crespo , he was a great option but i dont think its good to have someone who played for Milan and left for a season unless he was loaned for that season to gain experinces like Costacorta in the past.
he did well to Milan and i wont forget him , he obeys his coach and never experessed his anger for being a subistitute but we need a subistitute for Sheva the second striker that got tired playing most of matches and doing the most effort.
i hope Gilla would be back to his perfomance at the middle of the season coz i wont be happy if he dropped and we sold him !

After watching gila on so many occasions I feel that he is not mentally strong. and in the kind of competitions we play in it is very important that we have stronger players who live up to the occasion and make a mark.

I dont think if we have any other mentally weak player!

Tough times dont last tough people do!!

also crespo's entry wud increase our salary charts. so its kind of sad but i dont think crespo will have a good time as he did in 04-05

its so unfortunate that in spite of crespo wanting to come to milan and his succes at milan, his entry seems unrealistic!

I highly doubt Crespo will come. Milan respects Crespo...but they moved on and they signed Gila and Vieri. Now Vieri is gone and Amoroso took his spot. I think if Carlo stays, then all of our strikers will stay and expecially Gila. There is no way that Milan is going to sell their star-signing from last summer. Besides, he has done good. He's scored a lot of goals and the menagement is happy with him. The problem with some people is they expected Gilardino to come to Milan this season and score 40 goals. It doesn't work like that. The point is that he has had a bright start with 17 goals to his name. I would say that it is great. 15 goals in Serie A and 2 in the cup. I really don't understand when people complain about his performances. He is comming along and he is something for us to build around in the comming years.
As for Crespo....He had his good times with us. I would not mind him comming in for Amoroso......however the brazilian gives us more balance between our attackers. Him and Sheva can create and drop deep, while Inzaghi and Gila are more box strikers. Besides.....We can use these 5 mil. as a part of a bid for a defender. Something that we will need as our attack has been superb the way it is.
Conclusion?...Bying Crespo would be total missmenagment because we are well covered in attack. If Crespo comes it will be purely just because he is available and not because we need him. This is not Championship Manager where you see a great name available and you run to sign him whether you need him or not. I love Crespo...but he is a player that we already have in our team, so it would be smarter to spend on something we lack!

I can't belive people in here would get rid of Gilardino, to even suggest that is in my opinion absolutely ridiculous. Lets get rid of a rising star of Italian football and bring in another older player ! I like Crespo, he's great but he shouldn't be seen as a replacement for Gilardino at all. He would also have to accept that if he came here, he would get more playing time than at Chelsea i expect BUT he wouldn't be a definte starter in the first team.

I'm also not so sure Chelsea would be this willing to give up Crespo and Gallas without making us pay a ton of money for them. They won't just give them away.

Its mind blowing what goes through the minds of some people!!

A 23 year old who scored 23 goals in the previous two seasons, scored his 16th goal this season today and made two assists. Did I mention the fact that hes made the Italy shirt his own and is expected to lead the attack in the world cup.

Sounds like a common case of not appreciating how much you really have. :v46:

Dude really? He and Sheva combined are a lethal attack combinatiion . . to me it has been Gila who has been the biggest disapointment this season. Pippo might the catalyst who has changed the fortunes of this teams European Campaign around . . . The man scores he did it at Juve, and he does it for Milan he has a proven track record . . . I get have a great feeling about games where is lined up with Sheva . . I won't complain about a guy who scores the clutch goal . . . teams need those players without them you don't win.

Id also be interested to know if Inzaghi was playing in the CL at his age. Its his first season in the CL, even Sheva only scored 2 in his first CL campaign. Give the guy a break.

I would say the biggest disapoint has been the defense in dead ball situations, that being said they have played a lot better as of late. However in terms of Forward options, yes Gila has struggled in Europe, and I prefer Pippo in there, domestically yes Gila has done better . . but my focus really is on the title we have a shot to win, and that is Europe. I do like after we get a nice lead putting Gila on as only forward as he played that formation with Parma and scored in abundance, our leads will be safe that way.

As for Pippo's style . . I am sorry but I like it, he is intense, he bring a recklessness that gives the backs headaches . . Gila is getting there with his attitude, you can see it. But I think right now Pippo gives them something they lacked last year .

I answered with a no, we do not need crespo again at Milan yes he's still a great Striker but not one of the best anymore, we could only get 1 more season or 2 at his best level same goes for inzaghi but i just think Inzaghi is playing better than crespo at this moment in time. So we have 3 strikers better than him so i don't think hernan would be happy coming off the bench now and then. Though at the end of the season i would not be surprised if he did come only if he has a good World Cup.

Wait a sec, I'm not a fanatic of Inzaghi but I think to sell someone who is on his Form is the last thing a club would do ( we don't have financial problem, do we?)
amoroso once is a talented person but he won't be a first team choice here at Milan. To sign Crespo means another rotation problem for us. He doesn't like to sit on the bench, he wants to play and get the regular first team.
But the fact Ancelotti admire Crespo too much may bring the player to San Siro.
Still, I don't see the urgent to sign another striker.
It is more wisely to spend our budget for the defender, well as others had mentioned before, Chivu and Gallas are good signing.

This is crazy. Sell an in-form striker? Why? We DON'T need Crespo. He did great here last year and we are greatfull for that. Now though...we have the best attack in the league and we don't need him. I said it earlier....this is not Championship Manager to jump on every available big name out there. We should only buy what we really need and Crespo is not that right now.

I certainly agree. There is much more young and talent stricker out there. the pass will remain the pass and it such a nice memory that Hernan Crespo played so well with Ac Milan last year.

Crespo will also be much older and why dont we get much younger alternative? I sure the brand of Ac Milan can lure any youngter to Milan

Crespo is hardly the player we need, if we for some reason should buy a striker (which hardly is the kind of player we need) then we should obviously go for Henry instead. Especially since we can buy him for the same price...

When was the last time Pippo scored 20 goals in Seria A.

Don't know if this was a question, but the answer is that he did that only once in his career. That was about 10 years ago with Piacenza where he scored a incredible 35 goals. A feat he never came close to again.

Ofcourse Gila's record speaks for him, but when it comes to high tensed matches he does not show up. I am not trying to create a rift but the if you look at his performance in UCL matches (which are pretty taxing mentally and physically) , he has not scored goals and more than that he hasn't even had any starts!

so i beleive, hopefully as time passes and as the club progresses toward glory he should get better.

Of course there is also a very real possibility that if we get Henry then he will be marked tightly and be suffocated of space, therefore crippling his biggest asset- his pace.

Also, with Kaka relishing pace through the middle I feel we are covered.

This is all conjecture, mind you, but I base my opinion on the tight marking in Serie A compared to the space afforded in the Prem.

Of course, I could be wrong :D

actually come to think of it, from the first 2 paragraphs i concluded that if henry joins and pairs up with sheva i doubt hed fail simply because with defenders already having trouble controlling kakas pace, imagine how hard it can be to control kakas along with henry?? and with sheva waiting alone to pounce on whatver they can create that would be really great, to be honest id love to have henry here, hopefully inzaghi leaves and we can rotate with sheva, henry and gila alot ... the 3 alone can give us so many great options upfront, probably the most complex attack in history!

Its not like Henry had problems with the teams that defend in premier league. But we have Gila to cover the role of beating these stubborn serie A team and having henry would would have someone to beat the Inters, Juves and Bayerns of the world. It is clear that some players playing style fit a little better against some teams. Sheva positively ranks among those who seems to be able to score against anyone, that versatility is what puts him above many other strikers.

and that is problably true, however that is over time, we are talking about now . . . I am in full support having player that are young and talented on the roster and see playing time such as Kaka and Gila, however Henry, Pippo, Sheva, Crespo etc are players in the prime or the back end of their prime they are players that make substancial immediate effects . . now that being said Milan has Gila and Kaka who at younger ages have had effects, same could said for Messi, Ronaldinho, Gerrard, Terry etc . . . I have completely forgotten where I was going with this post however I think most people can see my point. :hammer:

I do doubt in his ability...more psychological than physical. And you know that even if physically you are the strongest man in the world, and your skills are great, if you are not strong mentally you loose all the rest. Thats what I think about Gila. If he scores a winning goal, I would praise him, why not?! It would be factual thing that he have done. But football is not about one winning goal, that one may be lucky...
I didnt say that we need to sell him this time. I think for now he should be a bench man, train, develop....Later he may become something. For now its Sheva and Inzaghi in a great form. Let them play and for Crespo, my friend, there is always a place in AC Milan.

I'm so happy (as many times before) that you're not our coach.
I think it's pretty obvious that Gila needs time ON THE PITCH to develop, to get used to the team and its play....and of course to get the confidence every player needs.
Carletto has known this since the beginning of the season, that's why he kept Gila in the squad and not on the bench, despite the critics.
I know you will say: "that's because Gila is mentally weak"
But again you compare him to more experienced, older players, who have been in Milan for years. He's 23, in his first season, amongst players he used to watch and admire on tv just a couple of years ago. It's very natural that he feels "small" (as he said some weeks ago in an interview).

According to this (Diario Olé's quote from Corriere dello Sport) http://www.ole.com.ar/jsp/v4/pagina.jsp?pagId=1163847
Milan is having conversations with Abrahmovic to bring Crespo back after the WC. This was one of Ancelotti's main requests for extending his contract till 2008, because Hernan is his favourite striker, since he coached himat Parma.
This means that if Carlo realy stays, the chances of Crespo coming back are big.

Poor, poor Gilardino...he feels small...;) Its not about critiques..its about him not developing in any way during a year in Milan. New players in the team should understand that they are small, especcially if there are such players as Sheva and Inzaghi. He had to be ready for that, and he wasnt. Now when Inzaghi is having a great form, Gila is going down (mentally mostly)..he is not capable to deal with that. Gila needs to be the only good striker in the team to be brilliant. Thats not the case in Milan and not going to be. We dont play 5-4-1 or 4-3-2-1..We always play with 2 strikers, plus Kaka, who is also brilliant, and he is just turning 24 in april...So its not about age, is it? Kaka is mentally strong and constantly developing plus one more important thing about him: HE ENJOYS PLAYING FOOTBALL, like Ronaldinho, and for that to both of them I have a huge respect.
BTW, I m not pretending to be a coach in Milan. I have a lot of other headaches in my life. ;)

There is one fact that proves that Crespo is not mentally weak: he wanted to stay in Milan, he liked Milan, but was forced to go back to Chelsea. And how was this season for him? I think not bad. If a person is mentally weak, he would be so dissapointed that he wouldnt play even well, he would loose the interest. Crespo didnt, although he was still saying that he wants to play for Milan.

So tell me Egoistka...did he tell you this when you guys had breakfast the other morning? Or was it after training when you took him into your office for a chat?

The fact that he has scored 15 goals (or some such number) is a clear indication that he is not developing. I mean really! What a waste of 20M pounds!

But let me ask this, how many of our forwards have scored a similar number of goals in their first season? Experienced or not?

Now when Inzaghi is having a great form, Gila is going down (mentally mostly)..he is not capable to deal with that. Gila needs to be the only good striker in the team to be brilliant.
Really? How have you arriven at this wonderous piece of perception? From your close and careful analysis of the player from his teenage years maybe? He is going down mentally? Mostly? :haha: You really should be on the Late Show with David Letterman, or better yet, HBO should give you your own half hour comedy special. You are too funny!

Am I to take from this that because of your unstinting observation of Gila, he is the opposite? This seems to be what you are indicating here...ahh but I forgot, you used to be his guardian when he was a kid...I keep forgetting..sorry! And of course, you had to force him to go to training...as he preferrs ballet dancing to football, but thankfully you were strict, and made him go to football practice! Thank you!!!!

BTW, I m not pretending to be a coach in Milan. I have a lot of other headaches in my life. ;) Coulda fooled me! Then again, I am easily fooled. Whatever goals he scored were scored in the games where all the rest of the players scored as well..like 5-0, 4-1 and stuff like that. It doesnt show that he is great, sorry! Whenver we criticize any one or praize any one, it would be really good if you could prove what is so bad or good in that player or the member. this is because MM is a forum with fans having different ideologies so it would be good if we actually say what is wrong with a player and not give reasons like ' I just dont like him.' coz that player might be someone's hero. So just respect every1's view and donot crticize or praise any1 baselessly!

Present some stats to prove ur point and be respectfull. We are talking about players who have committed their lives to this beautiful game so that we can admire them!

There always seems to be controversy or arguments on these Transfers section. At least this time people were a little more civilised than letting it degenerate into simply swearing at one another.

Anyway, I'm not too keen on Crespo as I don't see why we'd need him. To be more blunt, I don't see a problem with the attack as it is atm.

That's what Pippo thinks on this subject (it's from channel4.com):

The Rossoneri have been linked with possible moves for Chelsea’s Hernan Crespo and Ronaldo of Real Madrid, but Inzaghi believes there is no need for any alterations up front.
“Our attack is envied across Europe by everyone, there is no need for me to give the club any advice on whom to buy,” he said.
Inzaghi is just one of four international forwards playing their trade at the San Siro, seeing as he is accompanied by Andriy Shevchenko, Alberto Gilardino and Marcio Amoroso.
Pippo has a point, doesn't he?

Philly

theres no need for addition or alteration. i dont even know why we brought amoruso.
sheva, and gila the main two strikers, and now pippos back into full fitness then he's our alternative!
crespo would either be warmin the bench sat next to pippo, as would ronaldo. theres no need for it

OK read this for example:
"At the age of 17 Alberto Gilardino joined Piacenza and scored three goals in 17 Serie A appearances. The following year he joined Verona where he stayed for two seasons making 39 appearances and scoring five times. Not a bad record, but not a true indication of the player he was to become at Parma either.

In his first season with the Gialloblu, Gilardino spent much of his time on the bench as understudy to the prolific pairing of Adriano and Adrian Mutu. The following year he was again meant to be the Brazilian’s understudy, but when Adriano picked up an injury and was subsequently sold back to Inter in January 2004, Gila took centre stage.

By the end of the season Parma’s young hotshot had amassed 23 goals - including four in the last game of the season against Udinese - falling just one behind Capocannoniere Andriy Shevchenko. By the end of the summer Gilardino had also won the Under-21 European Championships and a bronze medal at the Olympics.

Alberto, you exploded on to the scene last year with 23 goals. This term you have already grabbed 16 in 30 games. You must be pleased.
Last season was terrific for me. I may have scored 23 goals but there was also the creation of a group capable of supporting me and helping me to score. At Parma I feel very comfortable playing with my teammates who are always out there to feed me passes.
Which defenders do you find most difficult to come up against?
Alessandro Nesta and Fabio Cannavaro. But also the not so well-known young defenders at the smaller clubs cause me a lot of difficulty because in Italy defenders are all very fit and tactically aware so I can’t name one I can go past with ease.
When did you realise you were a natural-born-striker?
Since I was very little I felt at ease in the box and had an inclination for scoring.
Why didn’t Juventus and Milan pick you when you were a kid yet are now both willing to pay millions for your services?
It was just by chance. I ended up in Piacenza and I cut my teeth there during the days when Simone Inzaghi was the main striker."
As you can see from above story about Gila he only shines when the only striker and whole team plays only on him. Thats the explanation of number of scored goals. He says that he "cut his teeth" in Piacenza..why is that? If he is a natural-born-striker and he is mentally strong and stable...why did he say that? Because he is not strong.

Then "Gilardino has scored 17 goals this season, while Inzaghi has hit eight in nine games since returning from a long injury layoff." "Like him or not, Filippo Inzaghi scores goals wherever he goes. From Serie C1’s Leffe to Serie A giants Milan to the Italian national team, he has been rippling the net for the past thirteen years." (http://www.socceropinion.com). I guess Inzaghi's performance speaks for himself...wherever he ve been, whatever he did, he still scored (and didnt cost so much money), bacause he is strong and capable. (Just an example). Gila's doesnt really. For a player bought for 20 million or so it is not impressive performance...You may not agree, but thats my opinion with facts as you asked.

About Crespo - we definately should take this guy. Just think if something happens to one of our strikers and we won't have substitution?! For such price such a good back up plan ;) :5schal:

there is nothing to be sad about, milan never force anyone who doesnt want to play for us, i think 4 star strikers(if crespo joins us) are just a bit too many, to be honest we dont really need a reinforcement in forward department, gila-pippo-sheva-amoroso is enough.

Actually, tavano is right in the middle - 27 :)
I wouldn't mind seeing him or Vucinic join us but lets be more realistic - players like that won't come cheap, at least not below 10 mil euros or so. With Sheva, Gila and Pippo in the ranks, Milan will hardly spend this type of money for a 4th striker.
If Amoroso is to be replaced, and I suspect he will be over the summer, I would expect to see us go for either a very young prospect in his late teens or early twenties, who is still not well known and thus cheap, or just go for a sure bet like Crespo, for instance, of course if the price is right.
From this aspect, I would love to see Crespo come back to Milan as having him will make sure that we will have 4 top strikers all the time, and no injuries or periods of bad shape will affect our perfomance up front.
As for a striker for 10 mil or so, my personal favorite is still that guy from Feyenoord - Dirk Kujt (24, I think). But I am not giving myslef much hope to see him with us next season for the reasons I mentioned above.

Hernan Crespo has admitted that he wants to return to Italy, despite being offered a new Chelsea deal. The Argentine hitman, who will be representing his country at this summer's World Cup, has never hidden his desire to return to his adopted homeland. Having spent the best year's of his career with Parma, Lazio, Inter and Milan, it is no surprise that he prefers Serie A to the hustle and bustle of the Premiership. And he could be about to have his wish granted, after confessing that he is likely to reject an extension to his Chelsea contract. "They have offered me a renewal which would see me through to the age of 33," he told and Argentine newspaper. "This shows that I have done well. I have won the League in England, but I have the desire to return to Italy or at least move to Spain. Abramovich has asked me why that is the case given that the fans love me, Mourinho has faith in me and he is ready to give me a new contract with some significant figures. I simply responded that I feel more comfortable in a day to day environment in a Latin country rather than England."

I said along time ago that Crespo will be back and im glad if he joins us!

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has admitted that he doesn't expect to be joining Milan this summer. The Rossoneri are reported to be keen on bringing the Argentine hitman back to the San Siro as a replacement for Andriy Shevchenko, who is heading for Stamford Bridge this summer in an expected Ł35m deal. Although it would seem logical for a trade deal to take place, Crespo is unsure of where his future lies "There isn't anything concrete with Milan," the Chelsea No 9 stated. "Unfortunately the present situation in Italy is a hindrance to the transfer market. However, I would be happy to come back to the peninsula, although I have to accept that I am content at Chelsea. "As for Shevchenko, he has chosen to join Chelsea for family reasons and family always come first. When somebody makes that sort of decision then there really is no comment to make about it. My situation is the reverse of his though, that's because I want to come back to Italy for my family. Nevertheless, I have to say that I fit in well at Chelsea, with boss Jose Mourinho, the team and the people are great."

Oh well i was getting exited about this!

Crespo Eyes Milan Move (http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=404466&CPID=8&clid=8&lid=8&title=Crespo+eyes+Milan+move)

Hernan Crespo reportedly wants to be released from his Chelsea contract.

The 31-year-old forward played a key role in The Blues' second consecutive Premiership triumph last term but the common consensus was that his heart never left Italy.

Having been loaned out to Milan two years ago he is now eager to secure a switch back to the San Siro, and is hopeful of his chances.

Sources suggest that Crespo's agent, Fernando Hidalgo, is to talk with Chelsea bosses about the possibility of a departure.

The Argentine is believed to keen on severing his ties with the Stamford Bridge side and returning to The Rossoneri on a permanent basis.

He is even ready to accept a pay cut, while Milan would undoubtedly welcome him back with open arms.

In the wake of Andrei Shevchenko's arrival Chelsea may be sympathetic to Crespo's plight and deem him expendable, but they are not likely to let him go cheaply.

I've always felt that Crespo is a good player, but he isn't a 'Big'/'Star' player, and let's face it, no-one can really live up to Sheva's quality.

After the departure of Sheva, I am actually glad - and was hoping for a move like this one - to see him on the verge of joining us. From what I read on tgcom, he is expected to cancel his contract with Chelski and come to milan for free - from his wages alone, they would save around 18mil for the remaning 2 years on his contract.
Guys, let's not forget something - without Sheva we have only 1 proven and experienced goalscorer in Europe (Pippo) so getting someone like Crespo simply had to happen. Chances are we'll see Amoroso go or stay as a 5th striker cause Milan seem to be willing to add one more striker to the team apart from crespo, so Hernan coming back doesn't necessarily mean we won't get our star signing ;) ...

I don't think Jose used Crespo well enough last season.

Hes a great striker and i think he's going to sell him. He's risking it all on Kalou an unproven young striker from the dutch league and although we all know Sheva is top class will he adapt THIS season in the Prem? And Drogbas not exactly a natural goalscorer is he.

I really don't want Jose to sell Hernan but if a bid comes in, i fear he'll be off in a dash!
Although Hernan did really well for you guys in Serie A and if he wants to leave.. let him.

Crespo for Sheva in a season without CL and -15 serie A campaign is not bad at all i think, i guess Berlusconi is saving his bullets for 2007-2008 campaign....
But Zambrotta we can't let go....

But Zambrotta we can't let go....
that's not up to us alone, he has to want to come and with that CL exclusion, it would be a miracle if he does. true, he did say that he wanted Milan but that was still before we were handed that ban. With him being 30 yo already, every season now counts for him and with clubs like Real, Barca and Chelski around, he isn't exactly without options.
Plus there is always the Juve factor too as they may very well prefer to sell their players abroad and not to other Italian teams.
All these things make things very, very complicated and Zambro's transfer - and not only his - are no longer a matter of if you want him, come and get him.

Please no!! Not Crespo! That would be a HUGE step backwards. He had a good year on loan with us, we said our goodbyes, that's it. He is now in his thirties, past his prime, and represents a short term solution (when we already have Inzaghi and Amoroso). We need a long-term signing. I say go for a proven, big-name. If not, then at least let's take a chance on a youngster, but not Crespo again...

Crespo Reiterates Italy Desire (http://home.skysports.com/list.asp?hlid=405239&CPID=21&clid=8&lid=8&title=Crespo+reiterates+Italy+desire)

Chelsea striker Hernan Crespo has stated there is nothing billionaire owner Roman Abramovich can do to stop him wanting a move to Italy.

Crespo is desperate to play in Serie A this coming season following a three-year spell with The Blues that included a season on loan with Milan.

Chelsea are keen to retain the 31-year-old's services with only Didier Drogba and Andrei Shevchenko as alternative strikers, but his mind is made up.

Abramovich has tried to ease Crespo's anguish with the offer of a house and additional money on the table, although the striker is not interested in the incentives.

"Abramovich has offered me a house, a private jet and more money, but I told him I simply want to return home," Crespo told Tuttosport.

"Abramovich is a marvellous person and Chelsea is a fantastic club - they have treated me like a king.

"The fact is I love Italy. The money and success don't come into it.

"Italy is my natural environment, it is the place where I will live when I retire and it is the best place to play."

Serie A giants Milan and Internazionale have been linked with moves for Crespo, but no bids have been forthcoming from the pair.

Chelsea hold out on Crespo Fee (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/chelsea/5210082.stm)

Chelsea have issued a statement after Hernan Crespo told an Italian newspaper he wanted to return to Serie A.
Crespo was quoted as telling Tuttosport that his "one wish" was to go back to Italy, where he has played for Parma, Lazio, Inter Milan and AC Milan.

Chelsea then said: "He is contracted for the next two years and will remain so unless we receive a suitable offer.

"Everyone at Chelsea is aware of his domestic situation and we have every sympathy for that."

Crespo owns a house in Italy and says returning there is more important than money - adding that he has turned down incentives presented by billionaire Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.

"He offered me a house, a private jet and more money, but money and success doesn't come into it," Crespo said.

"Italy is my natural environment, it's where I'll live when I retire and it's the best place to play."

Crespo, who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan for Ł16.8m in August 2003, was loaned to AC Milan for one season before returning to Stamford Bridge.

He said: "Abramovich is a marvellous person and Chelsea is a fantastic club, they have treated me like a king.

"The fans have been great too, but I am waiting here, just hoping my mobile will ring.

"I can guarantee that I am a healthy striker with just one wish - to return and play my sort of football."

___

Following reports in the Italian press this morning claiming to carry comments from Hernán Crespo, Chelsea Football Club has the following statement.

There are no new contract talks or discussions about offers of any nature with Hernán Crespo. He is contracted to Chelsea for the next two years and will remain so unless Chelsea receive a suitable offer for him. Chelsea is a bunch of @$$HOLEs. Crespo may not be as good as Shevchenko as a football player, but I would welcome him back with open arms.

Remember the 8 weeks that Shevchenko was out hit on the nose? We had nobody but Crespo since all the other attackers were injured too? Everybody thought we were doomed, but we had 8 straight wins and beat Man U twice and advanced into the quarterfinals of CL.

Crespo seems along with Ibrahimovic and Cassano to be the best solution currently available on the transfer market.
Torres and Tevez seems not so realistic....and I would definately prefer Crespo over Suazo and other big football unproven players.
He's not Sheva type of the player but he's definately very good player that showed his qualities many times and over last 10 seasons.
He's also that kind a player that needs a confidence...he never does well when he's not regular starter so I guess there's no way he would be our 4th striker. I can remamber when he was sub for Batistuta/Lopez in argentinian national team he never did too well but when he's a regular he can do very good.... Same with Inter, ACM and Chelsea...
He's not adequate replacement for Sheva but better Crespo than nothing...
