I am looking to book early, to travel from England to the Milan v Barca semi final, so as to get the cheapest flights. I am very confident that we will beat lyon and face Barca in the last 4 and want to book flights before the game is officially confirmed!!
I know that the first leg would be at home and the second leg in Barcelona, but does anyone know if the home leg would be on the 18th or 19th April and if the away leg would be on 25th or 26th?
Thanks

700 pound question, dude :-)

I cannot deduce anything from any fixtures I can see on the net.
(Please do not tell me that The winner of Lyon-Milan pair plays on the first match days, i.e., 18th and 25th. The fixture dates for the 1/4-final;s do not agree with this "first come first served" logic.)
It seems like the officials who reported the results of the draw do not care about the fans like you. The more cash you spend the better for them I reckon.
If you can get to Stansted airport in London, you can get a flight to Milan at about 6:30am for £0.79p with RyanAir on the 18th of April. I think that's one way though and you have to book 14 days in advance. There are some fees and charges on top of that and other times available, but you could get there and back for less than £50 with them.
RyanAir (http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/)
Check this site for a whole list of flights and prices,
airline-network (http://www.airline-network.co.uk/index.asp)
try British Airways for more flights
British-Airways (http://www.britishairways.com/travel/home/public/en_gb)
Or try Easyjet for more flights and prices
EasyJet (http://www.easyjet.com/en/book/index.asp)
Like i said you can start from £0.79p for a flight and work up to around £250 depending on where you fly from and what time of day you go.
Hope this helps.
0.79?? .... thats cheaper than a chocolate bar man!
jim, u sound good at this... im trying to go to nottingham next thursday, which airport is nearest to the city of nottingham, i already tried easyjet but it only goes to london airports. thanks :D
well they say £0.79p, but when you add the charges on it's about £16 :D I've seen free flights before, but it's all about being in the right place at the right time ... and getting up extremely early. There was a flight from Bournemouth to Lyon for £1.50 ! But it was at 6:30am, which meant it would be impossible or very expensive to get to Bournemouth for that time in the morning.
Anyway, i digress ... where are you flying from mk ?
You want Nottingham East Midlands Airport, but i don't know where you're leaving from Mk, so i can't find any prices for you at the moment. Tell me where you're leaving from and i'll find out what i can :5ok:

Im guessing amsterdam Jim :)
Thanks Hitman, it's so hard to keep track of where he is :D
Mk, you need this site
BMIBaby (http://www.bmibaby.com/bmibaby/en/index.aspx)
It deals with all the Midlands airports including Nottingham, there's a flight that leaves Amsterdam at 9:55am and arrives at Nottingham at 10:15am on Thursday 6th April and it's about 70 Euros, so about £45 - £50 i think. That's only one way though, i wasn't sure when you were flying back.
I don't think you'll find it much cheaper to be honest because Nottingham Airport isn't a popular travel hub.
Alternatively you could try either the Eurostar or a National Express coach, but those will take alot longer. We'll have to call you Phileus Fogg, always travelling :D

Thanks for all your help guys, but the real issue is whether the first leg is on the 18th or 19th? I have no problems sorting flights, I just can only take 2 days away from work, so have to fly out on the morning of the game and back the next day.
Would love to be able to do 18th to 20th, but can't do it.....

Hey Rahul, Philly to Milan on that precise day could be expensive but you can try booking thru Hotwire.com, even if Redeye flight, which is even better considering the 6-7 hour difference you have with Europe, plus about 9 hour flight...
and just find the cheapest destination in Europe, fly anywhere, if Milan is $700, but you can find let's say Amsterdam for $300, then go there, and book
a separate flight with one of the airlines already listed above like Ryanair, or Vueling, or something like that for a few Euros...
