Stefano Fiore’s agent has sensationally opened the door for his client to join Milan at the end of the season.
Fiore is currently on loan from Valencia at Fiorentina where it was thought that he would remain on a permanent basis.
However, the Tuscan outfit are unhappy with the £3m asking price which the Spanish side are demanding for the international.
Although the Viola do have an option to buy the player outright, director general Pantaleo Corvino is trying to get the asking price reduced.
As a consequence, Fiore could again become available on the transfer market and the San Siro giants are allegedly an option.
“I need to discuss the situation with Valencia and then meet up with Corvino,” Federico Pastorello told the Guerin Sportivo magazine.
“I won’t exclude an interest in Fiore by Milan. The Rossoneri value him highly and boss Carlo Ancelotti already wanted him while he was coaching Juventus.”
The former Udinese and Parma midfielder has impressed on his return to Italian football after his one-year nightmare in La Liga.
Valencia swooped for his services while at Lazio, but the versatile midfielder struggled to live up to his reputation.
Fiore could prove to be a valid alternative for either Andrea Pirlo or Clarence Seedorf in the Milan midfield next term.

This would be a very interesting move he is already 30 and to inconsistent for me but he is a good player when he shows it.
On what basis do you come to the result that 'Milan have forgotten the defence' ? The point is with all these SQUAD based players like Poulsen or Fiore is that they are just that, SQUAD based. You can't expect Milan to buy a load of sparkly new midfielders like Ballack and Diarra and expect them all to be happy at not being played. You need players that will accept time on the bench and accept they won't be regular players, this is what Poulsen and Fiore will be.
IF Milan decide that those 2 players are enough for midfield, i'll be disappointed as i do believe we need one new star name in our midfield. You'll find that all the squad based players will be free transfers or low cost, which suits us fine and allows us to buy a star name or two. It is better this way than spending a fair amount on 2 average players don't you think ?
It may just be that money is set aside for defenders and other new players or that the players we want don't want to discuss contracts yet, so in the mean time we're making inroads into our squad for next season.
We should all relax and let this rumour stuff wash over us until things are actually signed :)
i like fiore, but i feel we need to sign diarra despite his price tag, i hve a feeling hell be worth every pennyand more, and i usually do well in these situations...
what a great player, just removed kaka from the pitch throughout the tie, hes probably the best DM in the world today, hes the new desailly/makelele
i completely agree with your point MK, all my posts about these squad players point to that as i think a couple of squadies AND Diarra would do us fine. Although if Rui goes i think we need someone capable of filling Kaka's shoes now and again. Juninho would be perfect, if unlikely and i'm not sure Sneijder is the answer either.

I also agree on Diarra, as for Rui's replacement, that's exactly why we seem to be interested in Fiore - his role on the field is just like Rui's. JP was great tonight too but he's already 31 and would cost us a good amount of $$$$$$$ ... no long term future in him but Diarra ... that guy just rocks and 15-18 mil would be a bargain price for him.

Diarra is BRILLIANT, but he will be a replacement for Rino/Pirlo, not Rui..
Fiore is a great player and i wouldn't mind having him here as we lack creativity in our midfield and he would be a great choice
and if we buy Diarra someone of Gattuso and Ambrosini has to leave and still Diarra won't play regularly
diarra has everything he needs to start for any team out there, he alone stopped milan over 2 legs, at one point i was kicking myself because milan couldnt control the ball for more than 5 seconds, we only had the option to send a high ball to the attack because diarra alone was a wall that separated our midfield from the attack, plus even with our useless routine tonight, diarra won most of the airballs that came his way if not all... im telling u, hes somthing!
Yea i agree that Diarra is a great player he's awesome but the problem is that Gattuso doesn't like to sit on the bench so the problem is who will start i think we will have to sell Gattuso if we want Diarra the two of them won't work or maybe can don't know :dontkn:

There is no place in Milan for Fiore. The most he will be a sub in a few games in a season. He is on end of 20 and there is more other younger midfield player
actually... besides fiore... i think a very good option in our midfield incase rui leaves would be enzo maresca who now plays for sevilla... hes always been class and its always nice to have italians play for milan espcially when theyre quality, id take him over sneijder for example
After todays game I just want to read Diarra's name. He is a player we could use to be our rock and when Kaka needs a rest we can just play him with Seedorf, Pirlo and Rino like Juve always play. Who says we need a Rui costa type player. Diara is pretty rapid anyway and can help attack.

pirlo, seedorf can both play in rui costa's role without problems. getting diarra would be great IMO.

Viola snub saddens Fiore Tuesday 6 June, 2006
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Stefano Fiore has been left devastated by the news that Fiorentina have declined to make Valencia a bid for his services.
Fiore was hoping to seal a permanent switch to Florence after impressing for the Viola during his season long loan spell.
But the Tuscan outfit have amazingly decided to not make the Spanish side an offer, even though they had lowered their asking price.
“Fiore will no longer be a Gigliato,” agent Federico Pastorello conceded. “Unfortunately his efforts over the last season haven’t been enough.
“Valencia were ready to do a deal so that he could stay. But Fiorentina only wanted to renew his loan, nothing more.
“Fiore is disappointed, he expected to be treated differently.”
Valencia turned down the Italian club’s request to keep the midfielder on loan and it now seems that the Stadio Artemio Franchi outfit are ready to wave goodbye to the star.
“I know that Valencia gave Fiorentina the option to sign me, but they didn’t offer a penny,” stated the former Lazio player.
“The impression is that they don’t want to keep me. I did my best to make it clear that I wanted to stay, I was even ready to renegotiate my salary.
“Unfortunately the pessimism of my agent is now shared by me simply because there was no offer tabled.
“I’m saddened. After having such a great season and making so many sacrifices…”
Fiore, who has been linked with Milan recently, now admits that he is unsure of what his future will hold.
“A Spanish return? I don’t know,” he added. “I haven’t thought about my next move. I was convinced that I would be married to Fiorentina.
“I need to now evaluate every possibility which will also include returning to La Liga.”

I think we should make a bid for him, he is experienced plus he would be a good backup for Pirlo...
i agree he would be a good buy IMO
fiore would be a good backup, a smart signing.
fiore would be a good signin ..
but i think that he cant make the first scuad of ac,milan
he also want more minute in game
becouse this season he was the mos subtituted player in leage .
so .. Diarra would be a smarter sign
we dont have money .. to make our bench strog !!
