dun think ambrosini wud be a gud choice.. gilardino + sheva and we definitely need pippo there.... but honestly i think, pippo n sheva wud be just fine.. gilardino still shaky.. he is a gud player but in this level, he need more exposure...
n please... please, get that "bloody seedorf" out of the first eleven... he is sucha waste.. bloody waste...

I would say that the starting 11 are perfect, ofcourse Gilardino should be replaced by Inzhaghi and I do agree with u mainsh Maldini should NOT be on the bench and play instead of kaladze!!!! if kaladze wanted he could have stopped Guilys' goal he should have jumped in the air facing the goal, allow the ball to bounce back of his back!!!! who the hell slides when the attacker is about to hit a volley( it was quite obvious tht Guily wasn't going to roll the ball past Dida aiming for the far corner).
Danny c'mon u cannot say Seedorf is a waste the first goal against lyon (second leg ) who gave tht beautiful cross to Inzhagi and thn in this game against barca the second chance of the game; for sheva;was also created by a beautiful curling ball from Seedorf!!!!
AND C'MON ANCELOTTI GIVE ME A BREAK PLZ END THIS SUPERSTITION, AMBROSINI IS GOOD BUT CANNOT PLAY AT THIS LEVEL IF U DONT EVEN LET HIM PLAY IN SERIE A. IF RUI COSTA WAS IN HIS PLACE AT THE CHANCE AMBRO GOT . TRUST ME I CAN PUT MY LIFE ON IT THE BALL WOULD HAVE BEEN AT THE BACK OF THE NET!!
In the goal situation our central defenders were not the best however the ball was at very narrow corner and in that situation when the attacker does not have a clear run or 1-1 to the GK the GK must always remain at his line and try to block the near post. What Dida did was he mis-read the situation, came out to the ball the retreated. He completely failed to block the near post. When a GK beaten at near post he is to blamed for this mistake.
This is totally a personal blunder by Dida which is so regular these days.
Not much wrong with the CDs, the strikers but not so good were the midfielders.
We should have given up the Inter game and won this one.

its not that, i thought his movement and passing was better vs barca, but if u wanna beat barca u gotta control the midfield, they have ronaldinho, deco back and giuly... who can cause craziness to anyone... gattuso alone cant stop ronaldinho, pirlo isnt the best defender out there, so i thought by having better tacklers in gattuso and seedorf we would win the midfield battle, especially with sergio on the flanks... maldini's presence i think is also important
actually... i might chose to play stam and nesta in the center, with cafu on the right... kala can be introduced if were having trouble
Defenders - Cafu,Nesta, Stam, Maldini
Midfield - Pirlo, Kaka, Serginho, seedorf - now that gattuso got himself another yellow
Strikers - Sheva & Pippo
Keeper - Dida - since we dont really have an option at present
and its strange that you dont know that rino got himself a card yesterday and was already carrying one...doesnt that make him ineligible???

We Gotta Have A Good Attack. Hence I Feel This Formation. We Will Use Wings So That Pippo Makes The Most Out Of Long Crosses. Abt Only Three Defenders, I Think We Will Have To Take That Risk For The Initial Period And Hope We Are Not Unlucky. Abt Ambro's Inclusion, He Always Does Good In Tight Matches So I Have Faith On Him. If We Get A 2 Goal Lead Then We Shud Get Back To 4 Defenders And The Usual Formation.

I don't think Rino got a YC yesterday. Nesta was the only Milan player who got one, at least that's what I remember.
But yeah, I also think that Gattuso is 1 YC away from suspension.
Last thing i heard is that no Milan player is suspended for the Barca game. Only Oleguer from them is missing the game through suspension.
The system is fine, execution of it isnt so hot. If Seedorf can play a straight pass, Pirlo can stop sucking, Sheva can get some service and Kaka can try to be a bit more agressive and impose himself more we will kill them.
we only need one goal then the tie is completely reversed again.

Got to drop our weak links from our team Pirlo is in terrible form and keeps losing possession of the ball he is to slow for the big games, Kaladze needs to be droped for this one to put the legend Maldini back in the team and push serginho forward, also seedorf is in need of a big rest he doesn't seem to be the player he once was. Vogel can do a great job and control the midfield with gattuso. I hope Shevchenko is up for this as he didn't really seem intersted in the frist leg

I wonder if we shouldnt require that posters include their age when posting...at least it would explain some of the more nonsensical posts here...I refer in particular to the "axe Seedorf" posts...hangman and all....I mean really....how old are you guys?
Clarence may not have had a perfect game, but he didnt have a stinker either. He played a little below his best, but he may have been tired, as he has not been rested as some of our other players have.
What you Seedorf-haters have to realise is that Carlo thinks he is important, moreso than Pirlo...so put that in your pipes and smok...sorry, wont promote underage smoking...even in analogy...
Now back to the topic...
I would field an unchanged lineup from the first leg, except for Gila, who would be on the bench for Pipo if the older Italian is match fit...if he isnt, then he should start on the bench.
I think Rui Costa should feature in this game...Barca are going to pack the midfield, and we will need to have a playmaker who can beat 2 opponents without the need for speed and space, which Kaka MUST have to create anything special. (No criticism of Kaka here...that is just, IMO his style of play)
I would take off Pirlo or Seedorf for Rui Costa at some point in the 2nd half, especially if we have not scored or created much by half time...and if they score...I would drop Rino, and put on Rui..why? At that point it would be all or nothing..so why try to defend? Go to all out attack!
FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!!
This is mine line-up:
-----------------------------Dida--------------------------------
Cafu------------------Stam---------Nesta-----------------Maldini
-----------------Ambrosini----------------Pirlo--------------------
------------Gattuso-----------Kaka--------------Seedorf---------
-----------------------------Sheva-------------------------------
This is my formation, 4-5-1...
No point to play with 2 forwards, if they can't reach the ball. We were outplayed in the center both against Lyon and Barca, so Ambrosini supposed to be fresh and add an exta power in the center.
The fresh players are the key to win at Camp-Nou, Maldini and Cafu. I mean f*ck it looks like our midfielders have weights attached to their legs, that provent them from moving... it's a shame to see Barca have a passing practise infront of 80000 milan fans when we 1 goal down with 20 minutes to go. All the people here that suggested Kala-Serginio, well they were wrong. Stam is essential player, he neutralized Ronaldinho and made him switch sides... how many defenders in the world do u know that can neutralize Ronaldinho??? BUT NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like some experts here suggested Kala and Seginho are "pacy" so lets play them!!! Yeah, right... man sometimes I can't believe what stupid things people here are saying.
The most important thing though it's not who will play, but with what attitude we will play in Camp-Nou, because I have a feeling our players already accepted a defeat. And the other thing that was pretty shameful, it's when the fans started to leave 5 minutes before the end, the fans didn't believe in the team in that crucial minutes.
P.S. Zlatanov I don't think Olegeur got himself a yellow card, so he will be available. So does Gattuso, I think both teams won't have any suspensioned players.

Wat are you ppl talking about?? Seedorf should be offload or out of the first 11 after a poor match??
Come on..We do still need a player like seedorf. We still need his cross as many Milan goals come from crosses.
If that the point taking seedorf off how about Kalazhe who never successfuly block the shot n and even give away procession?? how about Gila who struggle in front and cant seems to be dangerous? how about Pirlo??? Pirlo player more worst that Seedorf??
We just need improvement from the team be win again in NouCamp. No matter who they got that not the point. I am sure MIlan can defeated any team in this world when they play more better. Our Midfield indeed need to improve. More accurate passing n need to win more procession in the middle....
My Line up
Dida
Cafu Nesta Kalazhe Maldini
Pirlo
Gatusso Seedorf
Kaka
Sheva Inzaghi

Sorry double post
What is going on? Is every solution to any problem now to boot someone of the team, or in extreme cases to kill them? I have read posts saying that Pirlo, Seedorf, Gila, Kaladze, are crap, that they don't deserve to start, blah blah blah, etc. (Not all in this thread) So Seedorf had several poor passes. What now? He is worthless? He shouldn't start? And who would take his place?
I don't know about you but I wouldn't trust Ambro or Vogel, Seedorf is the most expereinced and the most talented, he deserves to start.
Seriously, some of the posters here are starting to really piss me off...
My lineup would be identical to savage_mau's, whose post I agree with 100%. We can't have both Serginho and Cafu in the line-up, that leaves too big a void in the defense as both of them like to push up along the flanks. Stam is a good defender, but let's face it, he is not the best crosser of the ball and we need someone to do that from the right flank.

Oleguer did get a YC and is suspended, even if he isnt suspended, he will be missing through injury. They will prolly have Beletti who is more attacking than Oleguer.
Gattuso did not receive a YC, and is 1 YC away from a suspension. Does anyone know Nesta's situation with YC? If he gets a card next game will he miss the potential final?
Regarding the Seedorf thing Iv noticed he tries too hard against Dutch teams. Barca has a strong Dutch connection historically besides the manager being Dutch and VanBomel competing directly with Seedorf in the game.
What Im trying to say is he tries too hard and the pass isnt quite accurate enough or he goes for too much power on the shot e.t.c. For years now hes been trying to prove himself to the Dutch with mixed success. He has been playing well recently and probably better than the the whole MF including Kaka. So under no circumstances should he be dropped. If it wasnt a semi final I would have said Kaka needs to be dropped for 1 game just to show that hes got to fight for the team. But we all know what hes capable of and this isnt the right time for a lesson.
If Ambro or Vogel were to play it would be in Rino's or Pirlo's place. I have supported Pirlo through his bad form, so now Im gona ditch him in the hope he "Wakes" up against Barca. I hate Pirlo, Kaka, Sheva and Seedorf
I can't believe that some here still prefer to see Kaladze in the starting 11, on expense of Stam... with this kind of stupidity what's the point for this forum to exist?? I agree - we have to stand together for this one as the second round will be tough. On the seedorf issue - one last thought....
A player like Serghino would be much better suited to play in Seedorf's midfield position and move Maldini to left back if we are in search for the goals that we need to progress to the final. Serghino offers more on attack on the left and can provide better defensive cover as well. The Milan midfield (except Gattusso) seems to fade to quickly these days when the other team is in the ascendancy...
Maybe it is time to try something new....
I don't think Rino got a YC yesterday. Nesta was the only Milan player who got one, at least that's what I remember.

Rino got carded early in the game... or maybe its just my imagination because I was really drunk while watching... but for our sake i hope he hasnt been
Wake up, Hitmannq8, if we get through to Final who cares if we miss Nesta, Gastuso...Anyway the following player have 1 YC each: Gastuso, Nesta, Maldini, Serginho, Inzaghi, Cafu. Butreally who cares if we get to the final.
My bad.. rino didnt get carded... I thought he had been booked for this:
' Gattuso (Milan) gives away a free-kick following a challenge on Ronaldinho (Barcelona).
Ronaldinho’s seven UEFA Champions League goals make him the tournament's second-highest goalscorer - behind Shevchenko - and Gennaro Gattuso looks like he has been given the task of keeping him in check. His challenge is a little too rigorous here, however, as the Brazilian goes tumbling.
Or this:
Gattuso (Milan) gives away a free-kick following a challenge on Iniesta (Barcelona).
The Milan midfielder's foul midway through his own half will give Ronaldinho the chance to drill the free-kick into the penalty area.

-------------Dida------------
Cafu--Nesta--Maldini--Kaladze
-----------Pirlo--------------
--Ambrosini--------Serginho--
-------Kaka------------------
-----------------Shevchenko-
-----Inzaghi------------------
That would be the formation I would play, with almost a 3-4-1-2 set up!
Cafu and Serginho playing as very attacking full back, Mandini, Nesta and Kaladze sitting defenders, rearly attacking, Pirlo doing what he does best, Ambrosini sheidling him, Kaka getting on the ball more and running at players, Sheva using his pace and power, getting into the box in the end of passes, runninh at players and so on and Inzaghi being offside 5 times out of ten but still getting on the end of things!
It's pointless.... Seginho??? Kaladze??? With this two u want to beat Barca in Nou-Camp?? lol...
I will be surprised if this two average players can beat Messina this saturday. Stam neutrulized Ronaldinho all by himself, and stupid fans here don't think he deserves to be in starting 11.... sometimes it's hard to restrain myself and not insult stupid people.
U think Seedorf shouldn't play, and Pirlo should?????????? F*ck...
Alex, you have been doing really good over the last few weeks, please don't go back to insulting people. Thinking different than you doesn't make anyone stupid...
thanks for understanding
Last call for Paris, seconds out, do or die, mission impossible. :scared:
Take your pick, they are all the same, we are with our back against the wall and the sentence has already been written, or........ :hopefull:
Before I will venture in what might certainly become an indeed confused post  may I take liberty in underlinig one particular point that often makes me smile :)
Milan is the most Spanish of Italian teams
My only reply to this indeed original claim, is the following:
Barca is the most Italian of Spanish teams
In once again congratulating Barca for their 1-0 win in San Siro  after having reviewed the San Siro clash, even though the match was certainly not one sided one way or the other, till the almost out of the blue magical Ronaldinho/Giuly combination that cost us so dearly :depress: till that 58th minute, we were able to achieve 3 crystal clear scoring opportunities in front of goal, unfortunately neither of these sitters was banged in, I would go as far as suggesting, that most possibly these sitters will cost us as dearly as qualifying to the Final :notlist: nevertheless, should we also add the Ambro's scoring opportunity, when unmarked in front of goal he unfortunately shot wide, perhaps we could add that we created the chances, unfortunately we missed them all :frustrat:
As a very personal opinion, despite having had almost a heart attack when young Gila missed an open goal just minutes before the out of the blue magical Ronaldinho/Giuly combination, I particularly regret that Gila's post or the zero meter Sheva opportunity a few minutes later, did not result in an early lead :frustrat: since Barca possibly could have paniched due to this early lead. Obviously pretending that both went in, perhaps would have been asking for too much, even though, basically Barca scored on their 1st close range opportunity. Oh well :depress:
Having said that Barca were also masters in hiding the ball for roughly about 15 minutes after scoring, with a 80 meter counter that resullted with a post hit by Ronaldinho  having said that we finally managed to put some pressure in the last 10 minutes of the game, with the above mentioned Ambro missed sitter, a close range header by Maldini and a couple of shots by Kaka just inside the box, as always logics suggest that spotless finishing is an asset at all levels of Football, in a Champions League Semifinal even more. Barca achieved this much, once again credit to them
Coming to what's ahead of us next wendsday at date is indeed painful, if indeed not scary :scared: realistically speaking, we have no more than a 20% chance of making it to Paris, to state the obvious, we are in a Do or Die situation, wether we like it or not :stress:
Even though no less than 4/5.000 Milanisti, one way or the other, will be heading to Camp Nou  obviously Barca will benefit from a massive support on their own turf, it will be loud out there, load as hell, nevertheless, Devils ain't afraid of Hell, it's home
The Mission, as hard and perhaps beyond hope as it may appear, surprisingly is fairly easy on paper to understand, it's word formed by only three letters and fairly easy even to pronounce:
WIN
Nothing more, nothing less
Now, in order to achieve this much, BTW a position we've faced already 4 times this season, for starters, we must not conceed a goal, I'd even go as far as suggesting that if in the opening minutes of the game, perhaps also due to the fact that support in Barcelona, in the opening minutes of the game will be red-hot in favour of the home team, which again perhaps, will drive Barca to try and achieve an early lead that certainly would seal the game, Old Diav, if in charge, would suggest even some good old sound Catenaccio :stuckup:hell, even Barca resolved to that in the early stages of the game in San Siro :)
As long as the game is held to 0-0, we have a chance :hopefull: given that unless we are completely annihilated from the pitch, we are bound to achieve atleast one scoring opportunity, till the game is held at 0-0 we have a chance
Should we be fortunate enough to take even just a 1-0 lead, from there on, anything can happen, even the incredible :eekani:
As for lineup, for now I'll leave that to all the knowlegable posters that bliss this subforum, as a personal opinion, 2 are the players that I want to see on the pitch, one is Dida, since Kalac ain't as reliable as him  the other is the one that perhaps we missed the most in leg one :frustrat:
Diav's lineup (change gameplan if you wish  ) :

We need a little more firepower and i think with Cafu coming in on the right will help us out. I think cafu will basically be playing midfield the entire game as gattuso will stay back deep and essentially be playing Sideback. We created alot of chances in the 1st leg and deserved to have won. I just think Pippo will take over the top again. He didnt play any of the 1st legs if you guys think vs munich and lyon, so hopefully it works again this time as barcas defence give alot of space and pippo is the best at finding these spaces and making hte most of them.
But after some 60 minutes, if we arent playing like we want to win, i do think ancelotti should replace pirlo, if hes having a bad game, with maldini and pull serginho up the flank and seedorf in the center. But other than that, we played a good game vs barca the 1st leg and just were unlucky. Barcas magic will end and the devil will RISE!

no we need to play our normal formation just swap gila wi pippo and i think the rest will sort itself out
Milan Mad's midfield of Gastuso+Voggel+Serginho+Kaka will not work, here is the reasons:
1/ This is still diamond shape w/o Pirlo, it will not work as proven in so many games.
2/ This MF looks having more power and speed than skill, so it can not hold the ball which is a fatal weakness
3/ W/o Seedorf Serginho is not effective at all.

----------------- Dida ------------------------
Cafu ---- Nesta (Stam) ---- Kaladze--- Maldini
--- Gattusso ----- Pirlo ----- Seedorf
----------------- Kaka ------------
Shevchenko ----------- Gilardino
Explanation:
If Nesta is not available because of injury, Maldini is more defensive then Serginho and should be inserted into the line-up to settle the back-line, it is important that Milan don't conceed an early goal. Serginho could be the ideal sub for Maldini or a tired Seedorf on the left if Milan need a goal in the 2nd half. Not sure on the condition of Kaka, but hopefully he is fit, if Not maybe Milan should add Jankolovski or Vogel and play with 4 midfielders? I give the nod to Gilardino, not sure how fit Inzaghi is at the moment, Inzaghi can replace Gilardino in the 2nd half if Milan need a goal.
I think the key to this match is not allowing Barcelona to score early, how Milan attack and defend the left side of the pitch and the condition of Kaka. Remember, 1-0 the game goes to ET and 2-1 Milan go through. Never give up hope..
