this is my first time to open Milan's match's thread, i hope i can bring a good luck to Milan. :rone:
Forza Milan !
we should start a full B team against Messina.
F**k Serie A, we can still win CL. :djn:

I hope even i will be able to say fuk serie soon. ALthough i beleive we shud give pippo 30 mins to play! and yeah we shud use the following players coz even they deserve a chance:
amoroso, gila,
janku, simic,
vogel, rui
good job, dude...
I thought about the thread, but I know we're all thinking about the Champions League...
still, we gotta play it... so I'd say
Dida
Simic, Costacurta, Maldini, Jankulovsky
Vogel, Ambrosini, Rui Costa, Serginho
Gilardino, Amoroso
i don't agree that we should play with B team i think we should make a mix of A team players and the B team, because you never know what will happen maybe Juve will drop points vs Lazio and we can't f*** up again like with Lecce
Pirlo won't play this game because of yellow cards so i think something like this
Dida
Cafu, Nesta, Maldini, Serginho
Ambrosini, Vogel, Rui Costa, Jankulovsky
Gila, Inzaghi
we must rest Seedorf, Sheva and Kaka they should come in the second half to play some minutes just to stay in shape, and Pippo should play because he hasn't played for two weeks and must play this one to get his shape back, we need him 100% fit for Barca he'll be our key player
Thank God Pirlo is suspended. The way he is playing its not going to make a difference anyway. Hopefully he will spend the week wisely getting his touch and confidence back.
Im not even going to comment on who should or should not play. Although we do need to conserve some energy we need to win this one. Carlo can rest Kaka and co but its not his fault if they dont start playing for their lives.

agree completely I think cafu and maldini should play to get a tonus also vogel and especialy rui because he needs practice, he needs his muscels wormed up for barca game:) and sheva zeedorf and kaka should for sure rest, and about pirlo I think this guy is just very tired and wasted I even would ot put him in main 11 with barca, and one more thing if the match goes well may be even give rest to resta and change with kaladze in second half.

Important again we get a positive result this weekend like last week. It will hold good stead for the Wednesday tie.
If I were Ancelloti I would be not playing a full strength but as others have mentioned a combination of both as others have already stated.
I think Gila could start with Amoruso but it is likely Ancelloti will choose Sheva instead. Players like Maldini, Cafu, who nornally start should get some needed match fitness.
The thing is which players that played during the week should play again fromt the start? Remember they played most of the game againts Inter as well.
I don't think Pirlo has being substitued because of poor from only. He has worked harder than anyone with the exception of Gattuso this year for us. It is obvious he is suffering from match fatigue. He just dosen't finish games as well. Ronaldinho for example has been rested many times recently by Rijkaard and henceforth being influential in selected big games.
We really don't have a back-up for Pirlo, heck there isn't hardely many teams that even have a Pirlo-type player in the squad! So when he is out we can't play our preffered xmas tree which has proven so successful. With this we have being creating many chances whether it running at a slow defence or cutting wide and coming in off the wings.
Pirlo being squalified means we will need to go 4-4-2. I think this will be the line-up used. Subs in brackets.
Dida
Cafu-Nesta-KK-Maldini
Ambrosini-Gattuso(Vogel)-Kaka(Rui)-Serghino
Sheva(Amoruso)-Gila
Players like Kaka, Sheva and Rino have to rest. Otherwise we could be already giving up CL before its even over. We must as stated before make a positive result and hopefully we have enough left in the tank and enough arsenal (excuse the pun) to fight for everything still till the end. One think this Milan seems to always do. I have faith and it's not unfounded.
FORZA MILAN!!!

lets hope they get chances and we discover some1 new!
but pippo out completely
Galliani told the press that Milan should be thinking only about Messina, and that if any player's head was already in the Camp Nou, he would cut it off... haha...
only 5 points behind Juve, who will be missing several players, and is not playing well recently... actually we'd be only 4 points behind if it wasn't for their last tie with Cannavaro's goal in the 96th minute...
Ancelotti will play most of the UCL starters...
One change from the list Jivara presented... Aubameyang instead of Sandro Bloudek...

Let's stop talking about things that can change from one game to another. We have to take the remaining games one by one and will assess our position and chances when the last 1-2 games are left.
To say that we are gonna win the scudetto if Juve draws and we win tomorrow is speculative at best for they will still have 2 points more than us. Also, capello isn't exactly known for throwing titles away and Juve's trademark is winning games by playing bad and getting a hand or two from the refs, so ....
I persoannly am very worried about the game vs Messina because it would be very difficult for coach and players to concentrate on that game given that the one vs Barca is a do or die for us. It won't be a shocking surprise to me at all if we drew or who knows, maybe even lost that game.
if juve will draw tomorow against lazio than scudetto its our 100%.

Not sure what you mean by more and less realistic when getting the CL or not depends entirely on us and us alone - all we need is win 2 games, it won't be easy but it's FAR from impossible or unrealistic.
Winning the Serie A title, on the other hand, is out of our hands as Juve have 5 pts more than us with only 4 games to play. This means we can win all the remaining games without getting the title as we would have to rely on external factors - Juve losing at least 5 points - in order for us to get the scudetto.

i meant the scudetto, we are just 3 scudettos away from the second stella. I agree we are high spirited, but in the ucl matches we cannot afford a slip, whereas in serie a we can afford atleast a draw! we are 2 ucl games away from cl glory, but we are up against barca at home and hopefully, arsenal later, these matches are going to be very taxing on our players than the league matches.

to tell you the truth I am a bit lost on what your point is/was. Not sure what the number of stars/scudettos has to do with how we are gonna finish the current season. It's true that CL games are more energy demanding but there are only 2 left and they will be spaced relatively far apart from one another, so that shouldn't play a big role in going for the CL given that we rotate the squad a bit in Serie games.
As for what I meant - yeah, it's clear that we can have the CL only if we win the next two games and we don't really have an alternative for that. We may not have room for errors but at least our fate is in our own hands. In Serie A, theoretically, we can draw or lose a game or even two and still win the title but practically, should we fail to win even one of the remaining 4 games, we could kiss the title goodbye. My biggest "trouble", however, is that in Serie A our success doesn't entirely depend on how we do but also on how Juve performs and these are things we have no control on ... unless Galliani finally decides to excercise his power and have a "convincing" talk with the refs or something

if juve draw and we win ... there would still be 2 points to separate us... with 3 games to go... still in juve's favour...
stupid it seams, huh? Its a more realistic goal than ucl
im not sure what u were trying to say in the following posts but the scudetto depends on what juve do more than what we do, the CL is entirely on us, we have to win both games... whereas in the scudetto even if we do win the remaining games, it still might not go our way.
so i guess.. the CL is still more realistic

According to Goal.com Juve will play without Nedved, Viera and Giannichedda that are all injured... add to that the absence of Comoranesi and I say Juve is in big troubles. There were so many matches this season when Juve was supposed to lose and didn't, today they have to lose. I still believe in the scudetto...
And mk8 if Juve draw and we win then it's 3 points and not 2... and why did u insult sheva-gila?? When I insult someone I immediately receive warnings and threats, and when u do it that's ok??
And yes we have more chance to win the scudeto than CL, because Juve is weak and Barca is strong.

22-04-2006, 09:08
why didnt ancelotti play with a few reserves for this game? If we get any injury to Kaka/Nesta, it is ancelottis fault.. and why didnt he have marek on from the beginning? if he doesnt get chances in games like these, when will he?.. and dida wtf is wrong with him?
neway, we been playing good possession football, but there's alot of bad news, we used our 3 subs in the first 30 mins!!!.. and we will have cafu, sheva, seedorf, gattuso all playing full games today..not good at all if you ask me.. and i really had to check like half way into the half to see if Sheva was actually playing!!!
the other bad news is that i always though Paparesta was the best ref in serie A (after Collina retired), i never thought he'd be a juventino! Sending off dabo for complaining or swearing at TURIN for cancelling his goal? ridiculous! it shudnt have been more than a YC..

Cafu got seriously injured, looks like he might also miss world cup .. Cant believe how dirty that tackle was.. But i also cant believe ancelotti played with a full lineup considering we have CL semi-final 4 days later and we desperately need to be in full fitness..
and where was Gila? against a messina side that was a man down, playing with 3 defenders, he didnt even get a shot on goal.. and plz dont give him credit for his goal.. if gila was not made for big games, or games against small teams like messina, then what is he made for?
anyway, good effective juve-style win by milan today.. and unfortunately juve equalised in the 86th minute.. and in the 93rd minute peruzzi performed a miraculous save.. and in 94 ibrahimovic missed on a 1v1 from 7 or 8 yards!!!!! it was not offside!!
anyway, we really needed Cafu for barca, and he played a really good game today.. i just hope our 4 players that got injured today are ok..I also hope the real Sheva shows up for Barca, the one we havent seen in a while.. Seedorf is also effective as a CM he proved today, but im not too sure if he should be given that role for Barca.
Lead is now 3 points, all we need is a Juve loss. We lead them on goal diff and head to head record, if we are on equal points, we get the scudetto. Now off to the game we all have been waiting for, the hardest task Milan has ever had to do in the Ancelotti Era.. Overcoming a 1-0 home loss to Barcelona, at the Nou Camp. Forza Milan and may god be with us!

Really nasty game today, those butchers injured 4 our players in the worst time possible i just can't beleive this, now our job in Barca is much harder.
And Carlo shouldn't have played Seedorf and Kaka but now the damage it's done so phuck it.
BTW this was a really important win as you see Juve draw with Lazio, so now we are 3 points behind and there's still chances don't lose hope football is so unpredictable

Couldnt see the match live, but I am watching the SDD on Gol TV...
Disappointed about the injuries, but this is when we will have to dig deep for the next match vs Barca.
From what I have seen, I think Carlo wanted to start with a strong team, get the lead in the first half, then make some subs...but injuries, I think partially as a result of the weather (eg Nesta) forced some changes that he could ill afford to make...so blaming him is a tad bit unfair I think.
I think he felt that the scudetto race is still open, and with Juve dropping points, it "game on"!!! So I wont crucify him for his team selection.
Sheva, Pirlo, Rui, Serghino, Seedorf, Pippo, Stam and Kaladze are all able to play vs Barca, so though we may be without Kaka and Nesta, we still should be able to do the work against the Catalans.
Good victory in the end, and the sending off of Clarence may serve to have him rested for the final in Paris. How it will impact our scudetto campaign is directly proportional to how well Marek and Voegel play in his stead.
FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!! A 1-3 victory, even against relegation candidates, is just the filup we need before our trip to Spain.
messina have completely plummeted in my estimation. they deliberately went out there to hack and brawl thinking we would be too worried to get stuck in back as we had the barca game. I hope they go down, that wasn't how a team conducts itself by any stretch of the imagination and no serie A team should have to be put in that situation.
forza milan. 3-1 you hacking ****s. The scuedetto race is back on.
I don't know about you, but i think Reggina will get us the Scudetto. Juve will win at least one of Siena and Palermo matches, and if they win them both then Reggina will beat them as Perugia has beaten them in 2000 ! If they get 4 points from the next 2 matches, then Reggina will not lose in the last round and Scudetto is ours !
What is realistic now :
1. Next round we play Livorno. With todays win ,Livorno is only 5 points behind Chievo, who plays against Roma in the next round.
So, Livorno will give us a fight but i'm 99.99% sure 3 points are ours here
Juve plays away to Siena. Siena is 6 points clear from Messina and they are not in big danger, but still, they might make them problems if they play not to lose. Big problem is that many Juventini are on loan to Siena, and relations between the 2 clubs are great. But if Messina takes the lead against Reggina away, then Siena will have to forget the friendship and play for it's life
( and tell me please, does the 4th place from the bottom means securing Serie A status, or it means a play-off ?)
2. My biggest concern : Parma-Milan. Parma, together with us and Lazio, is the most in-form team, and from what i've seen in last matches they don't give points to teams who need them, easily. So, we will have to beat them on the field. If we succeed here, then we'll certanly win our last match !
Juventus-Palermo: Too bad the Sicilians lost today and they are now 6 points behind the UEFA cup place. Palermo plays against Fiorentina in the next round and i really don't know what would be the best result for us. If Palermo wins it will be good for us because they will fight hard against Juve also, but on the other hand, If Fiorentina loses the match then Roma may win and in the last round Roma could fight for the 4th place against us. And if Fiorentina wins this match, then Palermo will lose all the chances for the 7th place and they will go as turists in Torino, but it will also make Fiorentina untouchable at the 4th place and Roma will have to play practically for nothing in the last round !
3. Milan-Roma...it's all said above. If God helps us and we get in the final in Paris this match may be tricky if Roma fights for 4th place.
Reggina-Juventus : No matter if they secure their serie A status, Reggina will play for us here, i'm sure. And they will play without pressure while all the pressure in the world will be on Juve.
This is the match where i hope we'll get the Scudetto !
Go Siena, Go Palermo, and especially: Go Reggina ! :)

Couldn't watch the game but from what I read it's been a ugly day for us, apart from getting at -3 from Juve, of course. I can't believe that 4 important players, 3 of whom possible starters for the Barca game may very well not make it for Wednesday. Nesta's coming off seems to be due to Carlo just being cautious with him rather than a serious injury but Kaka's and Cafu's may turn out to be serious ones, or at least serious enough to force them miss the CL game.
Happy to see Janku scoring ... would apprecate it if someone who watched the game, told me how he and Rui played today. With Kaka possibly unavailable, we might have to consider a X-tree with Rui and Sergio/Janku next to him as we would miss speed in midfield with only Rui in there in place of Kaka.
Hope everyone's back for Barca as any possible absences will only make our task even more difficult.
oh how i hope your right, nothing would be sweeter than winning the CL and snatching the scudetto from juve on the last day of the season!!

On calciomercato they say that even Sheva might have been injured. FCS, what were those Messina players thinking? Hope the FIGC takes some action on this but if they do, Galliani will again be accused of mixing his duties :(

I think we will have our players back...on acmilan.com it says:
The condition of Ricardo Kakà, Alessandro Nesta, Massimo Ambrosini and Marcos Cafu will be evaluated tomorrow at Milanello.
No Sheva mentioned...hopefully calciomercato is wrong...what a game eh guys...Forza Milan! Can we win the Scudetto? I am praying!

13 (2 on 2 player) yellow card n 2 red card. Wat a match... Well........I missed the match. Anyway suddenly there is stil a high hope in serial A but out of the player that injured i think we really need Nesta n Kaka.
Or maybe we can just go to NouCamp without the injured player, being underdog n get away with another historical win!!!! I do seems dreaming but who know? Just see the Zebra in serial A!!!

Didn't get to watch the match today, as wasn't on, but it was a great win!! gattuso now on 3 goals this season, well done marek and it's good to see Gila back on the scoresheet. Hope Kaka and Nesta are fine for Barca
http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr22j.html
but the biggest doubts for Wednesday’s Nou Camp encounter would appear to be Kaka and Ambrosini. :groan:
They also mention Sheva was seen limping away from the locker room after the match, this is not looking good guys
Who else thinks Barca bribed Messina to injure as many of our players as possible?
3 points but a very ugly 3 points it is. The foul on Cafu was incredibly ugly. That guy should be banned from the game, him and Materazzi. I don't feel like talking about the match, what is there to really say? If Nesta can't play we need Paolo to really step up. And we can't play both Serginho and Cafu in defense, they both play deep up the flanks so they often leave big holes in our defense.

Kaka's loss will be huge.
However, we have Rui...who can pull the strings. Maybe it will be good to play Rui since he will be fresh.

true... the ref pissed the Shhit out of me that game... he kept slowing the game down by repeatedly making our players play a free kick from the exact same position... pssshttt!

u know never know what is the truth, but for sure joan laporta isn't a good guy. during the barca election he had promissed that if he were to be elected he wud get beckham to the club but it didn't happen and later the issue wasn't talked abt coz of they good run and of course ronaldinho. there is thick screen of fog between the fans and the club authorities. hopefully we donot have any bad record

or draw 2.
I am not sure but I read on a Juve forum that for this year, should we finish with equal pts, Milan will win the scudetto based on better head-to-head record. Until now, provided that the above is true, the scudetto winner in Italy couldn't be decided on head-to-head record or goal dif or anything like that but 2 extra games had to be played

I don't believe that is the case this season, because of the World Cup. Apparently they don't want international players involved in domestic competitions too close to the WC.
guys, i am a bit emotional now, about the same time last year we were in the same situation as we are in now, fighting for both scudetto and CL and sadly we ended up with empty handed! i hope this season at least we win one of them!!! Disappointed about 4 injured players in one match, however this is the time that the second string players show their values vs barca! we still have maldini, stam, inzaghi, ruicosta, vogel ! it reminds me of barca 0 milan 2, when coco scored one of the goals. i hope this happy memory is repeated!
now we are in the heat of the battle!!! come on milan!!!

Seems like Gila wasnt shining in this game too...
Unfortunately I missed the match, dont have an opportunity to watch it in Russia, but I read your posts here..what happend??? Why so many red cards??? Is the ref NUTS? Anyway, good that we won...what a price for this victory though...
Hey guys, also what happend to Kaka and Nesta? How bad are their injuries? And why Ancelotti (idi*t) have put Kaka on this match? He doesnt believe that we can still fight for the CL cup?? This seems like that! He already gave up the CL!!! Better coach we have...

Milanisti friends,
I just want to underline some importants points (IMHO) :
1. The game against Messina yesterday is NOT A FOOTBALL GAME... All Messina players were acting like "bone crushers" no one of them played FAIR PLAY but looking for injuring Milan players!!! FIGC must have to look on the video recording and decide to immediately relegate Messina not to just to Serie B but Seri C !!!!! They are not professional football players but amateur butchers and bastards!!!
2. Let us forget the scudetto race for a while and take the time for better preparation for Barca game next Wednesday. The Scudetto race is just a matter of a process to play and hope the Zebras out of gaz at the finish line... The scudetto race is not just a "tactical selection" like what we will face Barca which is a one to one fight..
3. The "injury" on Kaka and Cafu should not be a nightmare to us... Let us rewind our mind to the 1st game at San Siro where we were fielding almost the strongest team minus Super Pippo....
What happened there was that Kaka being personally guarded like a criminal by Edmilson and almost can do nothing at that time instead of only a beautiful pass but couldn't be converted to a goal by Gila (just wondering what happen if Pippo was there......GOALLLLLLLLL!!!!!!)
4. Based on the fact on point 3 above where Kaka was marked so tightly by Edmilson...then if Carlo has to choose Janku or Vogel or Rui to play alongside Pirlo (just in case Kaka will miss Barca next wednesday...HOPE NOT though!!)....this would make Rykaard got dizzy for whom to be marked..and give more free space for us to maneuvre and scoring goals......I am very confident on this scenario....
So, my friends...let us think with cool head and not just blaming Carletto why should he fielded our key players last night....it was only "assasination" of our players by almost all Messina players except the GK of course...
The people to blamed is Messina Coach who gives the instruction to play as rough/nasty as possible to stop Milan from scoring ...and 10 Messina players..especially Sculli, and those 2 other bastards who were red carded.........
Let us keep our faith to believe that we would WIN against Barca and the Scudetto too as the bonus.......
:1ole: :1ole: :1ole: :1ole: :1ole: :1ole:
:3band: :3band: :3band: :3band: :3band:
Let me say this as I think it is important. We should be proud of this years team titles or no titles. Why do I say such a thing??? I say it because they have always known that to win anything, it takes risk of the highest form. Such risk doesnt compromise one title over the other even if it means losing both of it. Rewards go to those that try to do the heroic and/or risky actions. Rewards dont go to those that compromise the integrity of the game. We should be proud that this team is going all out to try and win both the Scudetto and CL. It shows the depth of character and integrity of the players and the organization/club itself. Be comforted in this truth for if no title should be won by the end of this season, know full well that such dept of character and integrity is what makes a team a champion and many more CL's and Scudetti will sure be won in the future!
FORZA MILAN!
By the way... very good post Oldman.

Hi guys, first post here, I have been reading for a while... Milan fan for a few years now and just starting to really get into it. :pp20:
I don't get to watch many Milan games (apart from CL) since they are not even shown on TV here in Australia (Sometimes on ESPN but not live), plus I don't have the internet at home (poor uni student). By the sounds of it these Messina fools were out to get us, but why?! I hope all our players are ok for the Barca game, but as Oldman pointed out, it could also work in our favour if Ricky is unable to play. Rui will be fresh and hopefully be looking to impress as he has said in the media (http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/apr21d.html) that he is not sure of his position in the team at this stage. I am confident we can beat Barcalona and take the CL, we have never lost a CL semi.
Were the tackles really that bad? Could it be possible that the injuries have been made to sound much worse than what they are, in order to disrupt Barca's training and strategy preparations?

Welcome and yeah, the tackles were bad indeed - and the number of red cards for messina testify for that - but it's also possible that the medical and coaching staff may very well already know for sure that some, if not all, of those injured players will make it for the Barca game. Yet, nothing will be disclosed to the public until the day of the game. So, it won't be completely out of hand to say that the devil might have a finger or two in this :diablo: :devf:
