According to newspaper reports coming from Italy, Samuel Eto`o wants to play for Milan next season, as the Cameroon player offered himself to the Rossoneri.
The Barca star has contacted Milan directly, and the Italian giants are more than willing to welcome the striker to their squad.
The Rossoneri were keen on signing an attacker, with Ronaldo topping their wishlist, but with Eto`o ready to join them, the Brazilian forward will have to forget about Milan.
Calciomercato had this rumour yesterday i think, although they mention Etoo wanting to leave after next season. Would be amazing if we got him and didn't have to sacrifice Shevchenko or Gilardino.

i am not an anti sheva, but wud u guys agree on this deal:
eto'o to milan for 15 mn pounds
and sheva to chelski for 30 mn pounds and any 2 chelski players.
inzaghi can be our leader for attack coz he has shown superb improvement and still has the hunger of a 20 year old!

i know it sounds wierd and crazie but if there is anytime we can get a good deal outta him, its now! i know it will be the most ruthless thing done by milan on sheva till now but we have had a similar case with albertini too.

albertini ASKED to go because he didn't like being on the bench, we let him go because we knew he deserved better, and more still we let him go for FREE!
Sheva has expressed his desire to become milanesta, and this is something we (milan fans) should be proud of, he is our all time scorer, he is only 29, and he is still the best striker in the world.
He should retire a ROSSONERO!
I agree with Seaninho on this one....
Sheva is beyond "good deals" worth a few million dollars... his value can't be expressed in terms of money...
Milan could make a few million by selling him, but the cost of losing him as a player, and losing the credibility by selling a trademark, an icon, would be unmeasureable...

its not good having sheva,eto'o,pippo,gila in same team. I know it sounds crazy, but it can only create troubles. We cant rotate that much, and I doubt Sheva will adopt to be bencher every 3rd game, same goes to eto'o. If we do get Eto'o Im afraid Sheva is gone for Chelsea in exchange for Gallas,Crespo and some money. But that would be a huge mistake becouse Sheva needs to stay here untill the end.
Etoo is a great player but at this moment we dont need him, our attack is great this way, there is no place for etoo in here.

Eto'o and Sheva: The best striker partner of the era. We would be absolutely unstoppable in attack. Sorry, but Gila can wait if Eto'o comes. But to give up Sheva? No way.
I doubt it will happen, but we will see. Does anyone have any stats on Eto'o's cpntract with Barca.

I would bench Gila easy, because Eto is still very young ( I think he is 24 or 25) and is a great player already so Sheva and Pippo what a attack.
If this is the case I would see 2 scenarios:
1/ Berlusconi agrees to spend the Eto money as reinforcement w/o selling Sheva, we definately will offload Amoruso in some way and really do the team rotation among Gila, Inzaghi, Sheva and Eto. No mater how good Sheva is to maintain the best Sheva he needs to sit on the bench every 3rd games or minor games. I can see different qualities in Sheva-Inzaghi; Sheva-Eto; Eto-inzaghi or Eto-Gila. I would not opt for Inzaghi-Gila.
2/ I believe selling Sheva would result in changing the way we play because he is the only one that can suit any striking partner. I hate this to happens but to be honest if Eto to Milan = 15M pounds; Sheva to Chelski = 30 M pounds an any 2 out of Del Horno; Gallas; Robben this is not a bad move at all. We do not need Crespo any more.

We will never sell Sheva. Sheva will retire a Rossonero, stop creating rumours and stop dreaming. Eto'o is only a rumour for now. Even if he is available, I would never take him over Sheva or Inzaghi. If we need another striker there are players like Ronaldo, Tavano, Cassano available. We dont need Eto'o.

I don't think that galliani wiil pay much money for eto'o.In my oppinion samuel will stay at cam nou next season.Milan must buy minimum 4 defenseve players,2 young good midefielders like rosicky,sneijder or yeste and one forward like torres or farfan...

Zeljo je trenutno 7 na tabeli al niju mu ni lahko jer sve ispod je blizu i tako ako izgube zadnje dvije mogli bi ispasti...

But a lot has transpired since then, most notably the incident at Real Zaragoza, and it is possible that Eto'o is considering leaving. Eto'o is on the same note as Henry. I for sure wouldn't be sad about getting him, but he is hardly a need and it is hardly the area we need to reinforce in.

If buying Etoo means selling Sheva to Chelski then definetely NO!Sheva is icon of Milan, and IMO still a much better striker than Etoo.Etoo is probably afraid for his place in the squad cos Henry will probably go to the Barca, so they will have Messi.Dinho,Etoo;Henry.
Sheva isn't going anywhere. If Burlesconi wants Eto'o badly enough, he has the personal resources to make an extra investment in the club. It would not require selling Sheva. I do, however, believe the chances of Eto'o coming to Milan are remote.

Maybe a spanish refreshment would come in nicely if we got Andoni Iraola of Athletic Bilbao (Defender/WingBack/Right, 24, great player) and Antonio Lopes of Athletico Madrid (Defender/WingBack/Left, 24, a pretty solid player).

Berbatov has more talent than Eto'o and Lucareli put together but he's horribly lazy and inconsistent. Also, I don't think he has the mental strength to survive in an environment as competitive as Milan is - once you put him on the bench and he would lose interest in proving himself and waiting for his chance.
Oh, and I am Bulgarian, just like he is, but still don't think he is a player of Milan's mold.

the bench? no :) he would be first up on the right of the milan attack pulled down a bit, playing one-two's with kaka and running with the ball toward the goal dribbling past one or two players and finishing it in the top corner... every time ;)

I`d be delighted to see him in Milan Jersey! He is a great player! But If we should sell Sheva than NO!!!!!! And there is another one problem! Who will play??? Indzaghi-Sheva? Gila-Sheva??? Eto`o-Sheva or Gila-Eto`o???? Indzagi-Eto?? this mean we must change our playing style! for E.G. play with 3 attackers Sheva in the center, Indzaghi-Right,Eto`o-left(Gilla on the bench)!

true but are you willing to pay 35mil AT LEAST for an experiment? Would that be a smart move, to pay a whole fortune for one single player and then hope that he would be an exception to what seems to be a more or less well-established rule?

ofcourse it wouldn't be a smart move we shouldn't be doing such expensive experiment infact there're lot better players than him for that money, i was just saying that there's a chance he could suceed in Italy you could never know, but we shouldn't be taking that risk because we don't need strikers we should first take care of the defense and the midfield

He has matured over the past couple of seasons and hes still not 25.
IMO signig Henry is more realistic than Eto`o! I think if Sheva leaves than Henry comes!
In my view we culd use eto better then henry cuz he is younger then henry and can adapt with players like serginho and kaka. plus hes very fast.

Not that i like henry... well i really dont like him ;), but bringing etoo wouldn't be good imo. He needs at least 20 chances to score in a game... That may be working in primera, but he wont get that much in italian football.
Completely agree with you here, Peters. Eto'o would be very effective in the Serie A only if he has a striker partner like Sheva. With Gila or Super-Pippo he simply won't be effective enough. Plus, like you said, he misses far too many chances. In the La Liga, and especially for Barca that is ok but in the Serie A you need to take advantage of every opportunity.
That is why I want Henry, a true striker who takes every opportunity, much like Sheva. But I still cling on to hope that Andriy will stay, even though I have accepted the fact that he will probably leave.
Thats a harsh criticism of Etoo who has only started missing after the african nations. He is more suited to playing with Kaka behind him and Gila infront than he is to playing in a front three with Ronnie and Laursen.

the real problem with eto'o, apart all the technical discussions, is that he would cost as much as shevchenko, while henry would only cost 15 mill due to a fifa clause by which over 28 players can solve their contract and leave a club for a smaller tag price
etoo is a great player, and its not true he needs that much chances to score, 2 seasons ago i would agree in a way, but last year and this eyar hes been awesome and hes topping the scoring charts, when it comes to whos the most DANGEROUS out of the 3 (shev, etoo and henry) i would say its etoo because he the fastest his stamina is unbelievable, he plays best in areas with little space (i.e serieA) and hes good at ceating his own chances in these circumstances, his two chances against us came out of nothing, but if he can finish better then he would be the best of the bunch plus he cant head the ball.... but like gio said hed cost a lot, so i would imagine henry would come which i dont mind at all because henry has is own style thats also amazing, but whether or not it would work in italy im not sure
