Zlatan Ibrahimovic

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sheva out – Ibra in? Wednesday 17 May, 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic could replace Andriy Shevchenko at Milan next season, his agent has confirmed.

“A move to Milan would be a solution welcomed by the player,” Mino Raiola told the Guerin Sportivo magazine.

Ibrahimovic could be one of many players to leave the Old Lady at the end of the season given the club’s uncertain future.

Although he was in talks with the Bianconeri over a new contract, the alleged match-fixing scandal has led the whole club’s board of directors to resign.

And with the outfit possibly facing demotion to Serie B if found guilty of sporting fraud, the Swede is assessing his options.

“Under normal circumstances, Juventus would never sell Zlatan and Zlatan would never leave,” Raiola added.

“But now we need to see how events unfold so that we can get a clearer understanding of what could happen.

“We obviously can’t talk about a contract extension at this moment in time,” continued the representative.

“It is my hope that we can prolong the agreement as it would signify that all of the problems are over, but before then Juventus still have to decide who will now run the club.”

However, the agent did open the door to a San Siro switch if the former Ajax man had to pack his bags.

“I have excellent relations with the Turin club and there are only a few sides in Italy who could buy him if they were forced into a sale,” he added.

“Milan are certainly a team who can permit themselves a player of his quality, especially if Andriy Shevchenko leaves."

My oppinion of Zlatan is that he one of the most overated players in the world, it would be a major letdown if we let Sheva go and replaced him with Zlatan.

But anyway forza Milan

I'd prefer Henry . . he has more pace and I feel is better striker option

Zlatan cant finish like sheva, hasnt got the pace...he could be good in pair with sheva or Henry, but Ibrahimović.-Gila/pippo will not work so good as Henry-pippo/gila.

JUST CONVINCE SHEVA TO STAY AND THATS IT, henry can go to Barca if he wants.

Zlatan has talent but there is no way I'd consider him a capable replacement for Sheva. His attitude problem is a major problem as far as I'm concerned.

Zlatan is a good player BUT he's no way near to Sheva. This season Zlatan was very disappointing scoring 7 goals, playing many games, missing easy chances and making Materazzi style fouls.I don't want him.
IMO the only way to substitute sheva without lossing strenght would be the signing of Henry/Etoo/Ronaldinho. All others will be good players but not as great as Sheva. Van Nistelrooy or Toni are very good but they are very similar to Pippo and Gilardino.

Zlatan is actually one of my favorite strikers in the Serie A. He has had a horrible year with Juve, he just didn't fit into their system. I think his performances for Sweden have shown he is a very capabls striker. If he can get in form, he can make a big contribution to our side. He's no Sheva, but then again, no one is.

Zlatan will be good with Milan!

Dont just look how he has played with Juve...Milan is a different team and their style fits for Ibrahimovic. I believe that with Milan he can play better. We need a player who is tall and talented like him.

Again Imbrahimovic might come if Sheva leaves!

What do you all think should Milan buy him even though Sheva does not leave???

Agree with most of you. Zlatan is by no means a replacement for sheva, but if available we should go for him. I think he's a great player, by no means a finished product, but the potential is there given right environment (milanello :)). True, he does have an attitude problem, but to some extent sheva also has it. if channelled properly i think zlatan could be a tremendous player for us. I know most of you might not agree with me on this, but the attitude aside, his size, touch of the ball, and the way he plays reminds me of Marco van Basten.

no way, he's rubbish. I'd rather we spoke to Real about bringing Cassano back to italy if we feel we need this sort of striker. Zlatan is horribley over-rated, he reminds me more of denis bergkamp, in that plays terrible for massive stretches of the season and still everyone raves about him. His agent is the most arrogant, annoying piece of crud in existence.

Hello , I'm new on this site and I'm french so excuse me for my english... About Zlatan, I don't like it. First because it's a Juve player and I think that he doesn't want to signe for Milan when He comes to Italy. Milan is not a second choice, it's the Best club of the World!!!!
More He has a bad comportement in Juve and really I think that he's very lower of Sheva. I think that Sheva is going out Milan and Ruud Van Nistelroy is able to replace it
Henry is good but he's not so wrong with french squad and no good against Barcellona. ETO'O or Van Nistelroy are the solutions.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think Ibra is a phenomental talent. The guy's got amazing skill and touch for someone of that size. True, he is not the finished product yet, but you've got to appreciate his potential. All he needs is the right team (an offensive one), the right atmosphere, and the right coach to develop him fully. Imagine if this guy starts scoring goals, he would be unstoppable. Ive seen him since his Ajax days and have been impressed since. I was even more impressed at how quickly he adapted to serie a. I would be all for getting zlatan. If we can get him to fulfill his potential, then believe me, this guy will be a true gem.

they adored him last season. they don't like him now 'cause he's had a terrible season. But does that mean that he is a 24 yo player who won't improve if he comes at Milan, does that mean that he's finished and without much future in him?
if I have any concerns about Zlatan it has to do with his character - often described as a n arrogant "butt" - but he's young, fame has come a bit too early for him IMO ... still, next to cassano, Zlatan is like a shy schoolboy, so i wouldn't brand him as "just another wasted talent" just yet.

Jim_UK
21-05-2006, 13:00
I wouldn't say he is as shy as a schoolboy when compared to Cassano, true he's not in the same league as the Italian munchkin, but the swede still causes enough trouble and has a bad attitude. I also don't see any reasons why he will suddenly produce the goods here when he couldn't at Juve this season.

Dave and mk, my sentiments exactly. It's a no lose situation. With ibra, we get a player proven in serie a, still young, a player who has yet to peak, and someone with enormous potential. i also agree with zlatanov that next to cassano, ibra is puppy. but honestly, i think a proposed move to milan would be very improbable. i think everything will hinge on what happens to juve (obviously :)), but even if they had to sell him, i dont know why they would sell him to a direct rival. who knows they may opt to sell him to madrid instead. but then again, juve is juve. remember baggio? vieri? zidane?

Sheva to the Chelsea, Ibra in rossonero 26 05 2006

In Via Turati, the encounter between Adrian Galliani and Andriy Shevchenko, originally planned for thursday, have made official what it expected to us: the ucraino it leaves Milan in order to go to London, mainly to the Chelsea. The ucraino it has cleared once for all thing wants to make of its future: to move itself to the Chelsea on the push of the moglie and flatteries of the friend Roman Abramovich. "I leave for familiar reasons, ringrazio the society for all which has given to me, not there is a problem of relationships and and not there is an economic problem".

The reason of this divorce would have been therefore the moglie: spouse of the soccer player models did not love Milan and would have preferred to make to grow the son to London. !Non my moglie enters there, has decided entirety for the good of our family. I do not speak English, my moglie I do not speak ucraino, the language that we have in common in this moment is the Italian, but the only way for being able to make to understand to our sons the love who we have for they is the language English ". Through a goodbye letter that Andriy would have "to sign" and to publish on the situated one of the Milan, the ucraino it would have to explain to all its reasons. "E' the Victoria of the English language on the Italian language - Galliani not without sarcasmo has said - I have tried to convince it to remain until to a minute before coming in conference. E' very sure the more painful separation from when they are to the Milan. From now we will begin the negotiation with the Chelsea, and he will not be simple ".

In fact the rossonero club is not convinced of the technical contropartite ones offering from the Blues: beyond Gallas, than the London society it seems seems to deal separately in order to raise of the appraisal, neither Didier Drogba neither Hernan Crespo seem the ideal Shevchenko alternatives. Both are in fact first tips and in this specific role the Milan is covered with Alberto Gilardino and Pippo Inzaghi, while to Carl Ancelotti it would serve a forward of able maneuver even than to hold the realizzative averages of Shevchenko, one to the Thierry Henry in order to mean to us, with the French whom but it has extended with the Arsenal. To this point, in Via Turati they could try to insert "of force" Gallas in the operation and to at least invest part of the money (in cash would be 30-35 million euro) in the hunting to one aims external.

The heir of the ucraino could therefore be Zlatan Ibrahimovic: from the song its the Swede, giò would have given to the free way to its agent Mino Rajola for dealing with the rossoneri in the case the Juventus was degraded of office for the scandal that is upsetting the world of soccer.

Zlatan the same with Pippo and Gilardino? NO WAY!
Ibrahimovic has an amazing ball controll for a man his size. He knows how to score as well, even though he has a difficult year for Juve in front of the goal. His touch and technique on the ball is one of the best ones in the world which is why exactly he assisted a sh!t load of goals for Juve this and last year. He has great strenght and size wchich makes him the perfect prototype of a target player in todays football. He will win 90% of the long balls from defence. And he won't just win it, but controll the ball amazingly like few others can. That I think is a lot different then Pippo's and Gilardino's qualities. He will definetly be back in the goal scoring charts next year be it in Milan or Juve. He is just an extraordanary player. I agree that his attitude is what sets him back a little bit, but then again nobody liked Pippo before he moved to Milan as well. As soon as he started scoring everyone fell i love with him and forgot all about the cheating and the diving. I will be happy if he replaces Shevchenko!

Discussing players is one of the most fun and interesting part of football beside watching the game. People almost never have the same opinion of a player but you have to give :respect: cause its their opinion. The reason I wrote this its because I may get ripped apart for this, but I think Zlatan have one of the worst ball control while running that I ever have seen (for a supposed top player). When he is standing still thats a different matter, then ha actually look good.

28-05-2006, 13:47
Conti, Ibrahimovic is not expected to have an amazing ball controll while running. He is a target man so it is important that he has good controll while standing and he does. The thing that impresses me about him is his skill, ball controll and soft touch (true, it is while in place). He has find players with ease which creates a lot of chances for his striking partners. He will win almost every long ball in the air and on top of that control it and keep possesion. We don't really need him to run with it. We have Kaka to do that with Cafu/(maybe Oddo); Serginho; Jankulovski and also Seedorf. We need Ibra to controll that long ball so the midfielders and defenders can push up more freely while he is holding up the ball. He is a tough man to mark as all defenders have stated that. I personally think he will give us a whole new dimension in attack and great balance. I think he will fit in well and he is one of my choices to come if possible.

But if he come´s to play for Milan he will have my support from day one no doubt.

This myth that he is cocky and arrogant is something people should´t believe, my cousin spent two days with him and the rest of Sweden´s U-21 and drove them around to different places and Zlatan was great to my cousins and his kid´s

Juventus striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has blamed his poor form last season on being overweight.
"In my entire career I have never been so out of shape," the Swede told journalists after a two-month Press silence.

"My ideal weight is 92-94kg, but throughout the campaign I have fluctuated between 96 and 97kg. I'm really struggling to find my form again. I get the feeling Italian food is not for me."

He has some weight issues which kept him from being more agile and fast. If not goals then look at the number of assists he has had. We are looking for sheva's replacement who is versatile and not just a finisher! He has atleast 8 great years ahead of him and he will be able to contribute to our team the way Sheva did.

Could be... Yet I don't like the player also... :D

I'd prefer a kind of Torres (or Tevez, if he is as good as it is said...) A real agile and pacey forward, with a good finishing and a good "assist giver"...

The other point is, with a player who gives assists but has trouble scoring, he can almost never turn a game... And he becomes frustrating, because he's the one who ends up in front of the goal at the end of a difficult game, just to put it wide...

i kinda get the feeling that ibrahimovic was asked like by some journalists "would you play for Inter?" and he kinda said cheekly "yea if they pay me 8 mill a season"-- wouldnt blame him lol

So if he does play for us, hes wages might not be as high as people think...

for me Ibrahimovic is the best replacement we can do for Sheva.
he is a young player and now adapted in Serie A.

transfering him in San Siro would be the best signin for this year .
