View Full Version : If Sheva Leaves... Why not Totti?

I know he's not an out and out striker, but he scores a LOT of goals for a second striker, and with him and KaKa playing off of Pippo or Gila I'm sure we would score for fun.
Not an Ideal situation, but Who can replace Sheva, no one, he is unique in that he is a striker who can create goals for others and also play a physical game.
Totti has been scoring in Italy for years, has proved his class ov er and over again and I think was the best player in Italy this year untill his injury.
He may be expensive (23million euro?) but he would be a great addition if we lose Sheva.
What do you think?

Perhaps, but it depends what you're aiming for in the side.
I think Totti's arrival may be troublesome for some of our current players as they have similar roles (Kaka for example). But unless I see him at Milan, its hard to comment. Personally, I doubt I'd like to have him at this point, as I see some better alternatives for us.

After Ronaldinho, comes Totti. Ofcourse he would fit in, no doubt. But Totti will never leave, and he stated last week that he'd rather win 1 title at Roma than 10 at Milan.
Totti is a great player. I would love to see him playing for us, but not as a replacement for shevchenko. Why? Because i dont think he can replace sheva. Totti, to me, is more in the mould of rui costa and zidane. What sheva has and totti doesnt is PACE. so if we are to replace sheva, we gotta get somebody with genuine pace, ala henry. I say with get them both. I say we get Totti (cmon berlusconi!) and create a new "playmaker" position for him and also pick up henry to replace sheva. Then we can really talk about genuine attacking potential. Alright, better get back to CM :)

Totti is better then ronaldinho, though man disagree.

that wud be great but can u really see Roma selling him it would be like us selling maldini and they would put a really big price tag on him like u sed bout 23 million euros.

Totti wont leave roma, unless he has another arguement about the sides tranfers?
sheva 4ever is right we have KAKA.
no one can replace sheva not even henry in my view if sheva leaves we need to change the formation.
he`s never going to leave As.Roma ..
Never say never. I remember some years ago people were saying that Nesta would NEVER leave Lazio. Guess where he's playing today?

That was different wasnt it? i thought Lazio had to sell players to get money.
You're probably right, Kaka1899. But you never can tell. who knows, roma might be cash strapped one day, or totti might have a bust-up with spalleti, or maybe he would state his desire to move to milan for "famlily reasons" :u56: sound familiar? all i'm saying is that in football, anything is possible. although in this case, very improbable.
4get Totti. Now we r being linked 2 Tevez and Mascherano

I would love to see Totti play for us, but it will never happen, sadly. But yes I definitely agree, it would be quite a replacement for Sheva, hes one of the better players in the world when hes fit.
totti might have a bust-up with spalleti
I think that would mean the end of Spalleti's days at Roma to be honest...
;)
Totti=Roma he will probably stay there for ever, Nesta joining us was a miracle could we have another miracle? never say never but then you can say the same of winning the lottery

LOL!! Completely agree!! A Totti-Spalleti bust-up could only mean one thing for Milan---Spalleti as our new playmaker! :)

Totti has wasted his career on a lousy side Roma, that's really a pitty.

he loves roma though as he grew up supporting them. he did win a scudetto with them which i would imagine means more to him than winning 5 of them with another club.
on the otherhand i have always admired him
... if sheva leaves i would love to see him at milan

That's where the sacrifice comes in. Totti could have joined any other big club but he insisted on Roma because he just loves it. He had said once that winning the scudetto will give him more pleasure than winning it 10 times at Milan or Juve. It shows the commitment of the player and he has earned the respect of our great captain for his loyalty.
We talk about getting Riquelme, Totti and Henry to Milan; but we have to realize that these players have become famous because they could extract the most out of themselves at their respective clubs. If the were to join us there would be comparatively much less reponsibility on them and hence they wouldn't feel the urge to give their best.

we totally agree on something unlike our previous debate!
