View Full Version : Hello
Hello,
I'm new here and a pretty new AC Milan fan in general. I figured since I loved just about every moment of the last three World Cups, it was about time to follow league soccer too. I'm an American college student and professional poker player living in the dreadful state of Texas. This place seems fun.
One question (and which forum would be best for a question like this?), is there an American TV channel that broadcasts all the Milan games? I'll have DirecTV with access to Fox Soccer Channel and GolTV, and I'm willing to pay for extra channels if necessary. To be honest, I'd rather listen to games in Italian (or any other language, really) than in English, so that's not really a concern.
Hello again and thanks,

Welcome dtlerch :)
To try and help the best I can, you might be able to find a thread about your question in the Discussions or Game's and Tactics forums. Sorry, but I don't know anymore than that.

A proffessional poker player sounds hilarious at the first glance but then at second thought it's a serious proffesion.
Welcome!

Hi! I've decided to follow league soccer too after watching my first World Cup (Haha I know...) Anyway,
Directv has CalcioDirect Service, which wouldn't be useful as much since it adds 3 channels, two of which you have already (GolTV & FSC). The other one is SkyTG24.

Have you had FSC & GolTV for a while? They do televise leagues around the world. I just got those channels recently so I'm not sure how much gets shown (maybe others can give info on this). And it does mention the Milan Channel (Sept-May, Matches 37, Duration 2hrs).

dtlerch,
welcome...
FSC shows pretty much just EPL... but they do show Milan Classics...
GolTV will now show more Milan than ever since Juve is not in serie A this season...
but if you want to see them in Italian, check with DirecTV if they have RAI International...
you can watch the games live there (commonly at 7 am your time, so enjoy the weekend, hehe) in Italian...
I have to tell you that Italian commentators are not that great, but it's in Italian...
or watch them in any channel, and tune Radio Zeta for live broadcasting in Italian, much better than the RAI guys...
don't miss La Grande Giostra dei Gol... and Domenica Sportiva in the afternoon...

Hi,
I actually haven't even gotten the channels yet, so I can't speak to their quality. They'll be installed with the new TV on the 27th. I've heard very good things about GolTV especially though, just not from Milan fans so I'm not sure how many games will get shown. Hopefully a lot!
Do you or anyone know whether Sky TG24 shows matches or just news?
welcome aboard and enjoy your stay here.... :p286:

welcome.
did you really mean that you are "a pretty new fan"? If you were " a pretty and new fan", I am sure you would have gotten more attention. :D
I don't have info about Milan on American TV. Sorry about that. :depress: But try to enjoy your stay here. :)

When I was shopping around for cable options, I did look into what Sky TG24 was and I felt it was more of Italian news. I don't have it. The best info I can give is from the link below. It says that on weekends, there's more football, but it's mainly news.

I'll definitely follow the games and am more excited since Milan now is in CL Qualifying!
welcome to MM
poker quite a game ... i am an amateur ... played in vegas in the MGM Grand last year though
if you can get GolTV, I can almost guarantee you will get at least 75% of Milan games in the season... plus, a show called "Ciao" on Monday nights (or is it Tuesday?), which is a review of the entire round in serie A...

I'll definitely be getting GolTV (in fact, that's the main reason I'm going for DirecTV instead of the alternatives), and 75% sounds reasonable. I'm sure the rest of them can be streamed online?
yes... FYI, I have GoalTV with Dish Network...

I agree with SANT - GoalTV and RAI International would cover almost all Milan games in Serie A, especially with Juve out of the picture.
My personal pref. is for DishNetwork though. Last time I checked, they had much betetr packages/offers than DirectTV. Have no idea about the current situation.
I have it with Comcast (GolTV and FSC). I got it since ESPN "ignores" :dontkn: soccer (Except the world cup and zidane hehe).
Where do you get RAI International?

Dish and DirectTV both have it, I think, but each will offer it in a dif way. RAI Int'l is usually available as a seperate channel or in a package with a couple of other italian-language channels (and even Italian Radio on Dish i think). You have to pay like $10 US or so extra for it.
Not sure about Comcast though. They do have a RAI channel listed but I am not sure if its RAI International or not i.e. whether they show Serie A or not.
I got GolTV with the LatinoMax package by Dish Network... and RAI Intl. is $12/month
