Me too but Tevez is also very good.
How reliable is the newspaper "Nozzles!" ? For 18 million euros i'd carry his bags to Milan right now :D
I'm not going to get too carried away, but it would be a fantastic signing. Better than anything Inter would have signed :rotfl:

I think the publication is "Lance!".
Anyway, though it seems a safe bet to suggest we're enquiring about him, for that price I doubt we'll get him, it seems shockingly low.
sssshhhhhhhh, don't tell Corinthians that ... they'll up the price Dev :D
If they want to sell him for £12 million, who are we to argue ;)

Yes can also just buy him first. Even if we really lose to red star ( which i cant believe will happen) , we still need a better player that we have now. With 12million is ok if compare to zlatan price....Hope milan just get him..
who says it's too low though ? We all think it is, but then we're not Corinthians.
We can only wait and see .... and we need not worry about those other clubs.
actually if all this is true and we buy as it looks now..oddo+gallas+tevez..I am happy...we have cover in midfield (brocholli, vogel, giourcoff)...but it deopends on CL progress...so we need to win in belgrade badly!!! If we do we are strong again...and Phuck Inter
Forza Milan
Oh yes, I'd prefer Tevez especially after seeing how he ran the Argie game in the World cup. Now is we could get him, we'd need Messi to complete the pair....
at last, we've finally been linked with him.
I don't know how likely the transfer is but no one can deny, this is a name we wanted to see alongside Torres' on our shopping list.
hahaha .... Debs i love your optimism :D
Kaka, Tevez & Messi all playing behind front man Gilardino  :rotfl:
Milan should get Huntelaar from Ajax. that kid can score.
I could score too you know........
i would prefer torres but this would still be a very good signing
I would much prefer Tevez, this guy play well wherever he goes and is one of the most amazing talent from arg compared to Torres who doesn't have an impressive stats neither does he possess the individual skills that Tevez. I seriously don't see how someone could choose Torres over Tevez unless they just believe the hype without seeing the actual play.
Same thing I'm saying.. I'd only buy Torres over Tevez if he were significantly cheaper(which obviously isn't the case). He isn't bad.. but not worth his price tag.
Would be a great signing since he can dribble.. but I'm fed up of rumours I WANT ACTION.

Man I`m glad about this news, I think that from the departure of Sheva the only player that most of us agreed that he can replace him was Tevez, I dont know how succesfull he can be in milan, but he really is worthy of signing him.(IMO) Can somebody closer to milan confirm weather Galiani really went to Brazil to disscuss the terms for Tevez..

I agree on Huntelaar, he does have something quite special. Not this year though since he cup-tied and we already have Pippo and Gila, who are more or less similar to the style of the Dutch. In a year from now, however, I would expect to see Pippo probably slow down a bit and maybe then would be a good idea to get Huntelaar, who'd be around 24 by that time, I think.
Also, it would be good for him to gain some CL experience with Ajax.
For this year, i would rather see Milan go for Tevez as he is a different type of player than what we already have in Gila and Pippo but Huntelaar is a must to keep an eye on for the near future.

i think that scudeto is more importante than CL, that's why we need a player like tevez if we want win the it
with CH or no we need the services of tevez :5schal: :w200:
That is definately the tricky part Milan Mad, lets all hope for a safe passage through that game and then we can see about getting these players.
If all the groundwork has been done already, it won't take long to get players signed.
Obviously Tevez would want to play in the CL, but he doesn't striker me as the kind of player who would refuse us completely if we don't get in. He seems a whole hearted player and if he genuinely wants to play for us then he'll come here regardless of our CL status.
Tevez would be an ideal signing being in the situation we are in now..and the price tag seems reasonable.. I am excited we are being linked, again, I hope it works out.
Many of us were in argumentation on which one is better, Torres or Tevez......
IMHO after watching the WC2006 I have a thought that Tevez is a real worker who may come from the midfield dribbling the ball to the penalty box....hit the ball to the net or pass it on to the team mates who were in better position to score.
On the other hand, Torres who I saw on the pitch was just in the box waiting for the pass and try to score. I didn't see his dribbling like I saw on Tevez. Yes...Torres did score a hard hitting ball from outside the box and that's it..no more class action I saw from him like I saw on Tevez..
So, my conclusion is that Carlito is better than Tevez. I might be wrong but that's my opinion and nobody can stop me to give my idea..right??
Come on Galliani...pay the check and bring him right away to Milanello to work with Milan Lab...together with Oddo (although we have to sacrifice one of Simic of Brocchi which I don't object at all) and....possibly Torres too.

I agree, I don't understand what people see in Torres over Tevez. He has bags of potential and could well be a great player, but nothing suggests at this point he is really capable of producing goals and great play immediately on a regular basis against any side, never mind doing it in Italy.
better not be trouble between kaka and tevez
Why should there be trouble, I mean the only reason I can see is Tevez is Argentine and Kaka Brazilian. Considering Tevez has been in Brazil for a number of reasons and been well received there, I don't see any reason for him and Kaka to have issues.
So, my conclusion is that Carlito is better than Tevez.
:haha: :guw:
Can any of our Braisilian members tell us about Corinthians financial situation. I know that just a couple of years ago (maybe more) they were linked with some type of company that gave them a lot of money to use to buy players and improve their squad. Is that still in effect? If not, they might have to sell off some of their biggest assets at what we might consider a cheaper price than they are worth. Last I checked the team wasn't performing at the lever their fans expect, so maybe that might factor in as well (weren't the fans angry at Tevez recently and attacked his car or something?). I just wonder, since that quoted price seems low in the light of what some recent transfers (Ibrahimovic), who are not a spot on Tevez's windshield, got.
I assume Carlitos will be leaving Brasil within the next year anyway (he's not going to stay there forever certainly), and someone in Spain or Italy is going to buy him, let it be Milan and all the transfer season complaining will probably stop on a dime.
Would be a great signing since he can dribble.. but I'm fed up of rumours I WANT ACTION.
Totally agree with that--Milan needs to stop acting like indecisive kids in a candy store and actually buy a few of these names they keep dropping. Smoke screen or what, I don't know....but it's getting annoying...

This is the first transfer target that really gets me panting, I want Tevez in Milan. Then Gallas + Oddo and we're good, plus the surprise, if the surprise is not Tevez himself that is :D

This "rumor" has gotten Debs all excited! Debs! Of all people! Now I regard her as one of the sunshine posse, and for her to show some frustration at this point in the silly season, shows how excited :sweeteye: she actually is over the Tevez possibility. :D
I for one am drooling all over my laptop at this news, and I need to call Galliani to find out if he is actually in Brazil...actually let me do that now:
Beeeeep.....Beeeeep (cell phone ringing)
Galliani: Hello
Bantan: Hey Adriano! How is Brazil my friend?
Galliani: Brazil? I am not in Brazil! Who told you this.....(sound of a samba band in the background obliterates his last words)
Bantan: Why, I read in the papers that you had travelled to make Corinthians "an offer they cant refuse" for Carlitos.
Galliani: What! You are breaking up? No, I cant bring any Coffe back from Brazil...I am not there, cant you hea.....(again, loud Samba music interrupts the Milan official)
Bantan: Ok "Uncle Festor"...talk to you soon!
Galliani: Bantan! I told you never to call me that! You "$#%&!! Oh si mami, yes, I would like to dance! Bye you insolent Rastaman!..click.
I tried guys, I truly tried...:D
Bottom line: This is the player (Carlitos) that I want in Milan more than any other (even Ronaldinho), as I think he has all that we need, and more, to replace $h..whats his name again? The guy that plays for Chelski?

Finally we are linked to Tevez, good news. IMO he is the only one that can replace Sheva on the emotional side and being really a fan favorite among milanistas. And he isnt a bad player at all :1d31:
Also I found this article from an argentinean newspapers about Tevez:
http://www.clarin.com/diario/2006/08/16/deportes/d-04601.htm
Its one day old and says that Tevez not only wants to leave Corinthians for Europe but he wants to play for a UCL side, one that will make a deep run in that competition. Also people close to him said his club switch could happen soon.
:rone:
Well Rio, i don't think Corinthians is in the best financial shape as i think MSI were the ones who gave Corinthians the money to buy Tevez in the first place.

Huntelaar has already player CL-qualification for Ajax this season, so I don't think he will be eligible to play for us in the CL. Meaning he won't come to us this season...
True. But if we lost to Red Stars?
just kidding. BUT, s*it happens.

we've all being going on and on about Tevez for the last 2 monthes even when there was absolutely no rumours surrounding him.
what do you expect when an official link surfaces? :D
He'd be good next season though(2007-2008).. to rotate with Gilardino. He'll probably end up playing ahead of Gila.. unless Gilardino finds his goal scoring touch this year.
EDIT: talking about Huntelaar.. not Tevez.

Like every Brazilian team - rare exceptions! -, Corinthians desperatly need a sponsor in order not only to hire quality players but also to pay their sallaries. Over the last 10 years they have three different sponsors doing it for them (Banco Excel, HTMF - I used to say HTML... :respect: -, and now MSI).
So, Galliani, Braida and Leonardo are here in Brazil to deal with Tevez, Corinthians and MSI (who have his rights). Not an easy task as the rumours are the company belongs to Abramovich...

I've seen Sobis few trimes, and I've seen Tevez 100 times. Tevez is a reall class player, a player that can do it all by himsefl. He lacks a bit of height, but he is extzremly srtrong in duels and on his feet. Right now he is 40% stronger player that Sobis. I still hope we will go for Tevez for real after we qualify for the CL. Why not have Pippo, Gila, Tevez and Sobis at the same time?? We can rotate them very good, and use them all.
Why not have Pippo, Gila, Tevez and Sobis at the same time?? We can rotate them very good, and use them all.
This is what i hope for as it would be a great mix of strikers. We would have the two main starters in Gilardino & Tevez, both of whom have the ability to score alot of goals. We would have two lead men in Gilardino & Inzaghi, two that can drop deeper and beat people in Tevez & Sobis. We'd have the experienced wily old goal poacher in Inzaghi and the young speedy protege
in Sobis.
It's a great mix of goals, strength, speed and skill.
Tevez's agent has stated that Tevez wants to leave and knows that we've been linked with him, but as yet (and as always it seems) no one has made any bids.
I really really hope we can land both of these players.
I believe the bids were made, but the officials are lying, as usual....
We just need to qualify to CL ( and that will not be easy ), and then im sure the money will be invested properly.

I think that's the order in which things would happen.
IMO Milan sees Sobis as a player we would go for no matter whether we are in CL or not as he is a relatively low-cost investment. Players like Diarra, Buffon, Tevez, Torres, Mascherano and all other expensive players would be an option only if we make it into the CL.

OK...this one is totally off my radar. who is Sobis, what position and where does he play now?
Rafael Sobis is a 21 years old Brazilian attacker, playing with International di Porto Alegre, winners of the Libertadores cup thanks for the 2 goals scored in the first leg by him.
The talented Brazilian is a very rapid second striker with good dribbling skills.
He can play along side Gilardino or Inzaghi or even behind the forwards as an advanced midfielder (trequartista)
The deal looks to be around 10 million euros.
Josh-Sheva
18-08-2006, 16:30
Which is cheap for a layer if quality of him :)
Uh oh, just heard on World Soccer Daily that Tevez may go to Utd, in January. Corinthians don't want to give him up just yet. They are currently at the bottom of the league and they want to sort that out first before releasing him.
World Soccer Daily first reported Sheva was definitely leaving us and we all know what happened. Hopefully these guys are wrong this time. Who knows.
A blind hog will root up an ear of corn every once in awhile, so I wouldn't put too much stock into World Soccer Daily being the first on Sheva (especially after it was leaked by Berlusconi that he was probably leaving).
Manchester United does not have our funds after spending 10 million pounds more on Carrick than they received for van Nistelrooy and they're more in the market for a tough tackling midfielder right now. They already have Rooney to play the second striker, so Tevez would be a luxury for them rather than a necessity. Plus Roman Abramovich has close ties to the group that funds Corinthians and it's likely he would do whatever he needed to do to keep Carlitos away from his closest rival. He would be much more likely to stay out of the way of Milan.
Rick, you have to consider the loss of van Nistelrooy's 20-odd goals from last season. Who will pick up the slack? Rossi? Talented but inexperienced. Saha? Solid but injury-prone. The Norwegian guy whose name escapes me right now? Serviceable but perhaps well beyond his sell-by date. And of course Alan Smith has a long term injury. Who else, I hope I'm not missing anyone.
Surely Rooney can't do all by himself, so indeed Utd are in the market for a proven striker. The reports of the them lining up a bid for Adriano proves this. And looking at their current crop, Tevez is definitely a necessity, not a luxury. He's pretty good as both an out-and-out finisher and provider and he'll come at a cheaper price than Adriano.
I don't disagree with your other points with Abramobitch and they all make sense, but isnt England Tevez's preferred destination? I think I heard that somewhere but I may be imagining things. Someone set me straight.

oh boy I hope we get Carlito, he has been my first choice as well ever since Sheva left.. but what worries me is that he is being linked to milan alot, and that is worrying because milan is kind of looking for a surprise transfer..they linked themselves to ibra, crespo on purpose just as a smokescreen for their actual target.. im also guessing ronaldo is a smokescreen..
Sobis is not a smokescreen though, because I remember we were serious about him since April..I also believe we'll get him either way if we get in CL or not.. Braida did say they will surprise the fans as they usually do.. who do u guys think it might be? what were the surprises they did before?
I remember Nesta, Bonera, Vogel, and Dhorasoo were the most recent surprises.. We were absolutely not linked to any of them before actually signing them.. so a surprise in their terms is really a surprise, not someone that we thought we might get (eg. Tevez, Buffon, Diarra)..so i think the surprise can be... ADRIANO or if Berlusconi is too generous, MESSI. Now MESSI would be a nice surprise that would please some of you, right? ;)
Nah, I think Messi sucks. No way in this blue-green Earth would he ever help us. No way we should even consider that guy. He blows herds of chipmunk. What nonsense has gotten into your head hitmannq8? There are much, much better options out there like Ronaldo and Alan Smith. I would give the world plus 2 cents to see those guys wearing our shirt.

Tevez linked to Milan a lot? Hmm...from what I can see is, that said "formal link" we're mentioning is from that one Brazilian newspaper being cited & repeated across Italy sites. And as we all know, Galliani was in Brazil for Sobis (for another player too? - don't know). I haven't found one coming from Italy itself. A bogus one :d55: (or not?) I found was a few days ago, Ancelotti said that Tevez was similar to Kaka & Gourcuff...so yeah...moving on... But then again, I don't know anything about football. :ende:
Well, for big signings, rumors are rumors, heavily linked or not! We were linked with Ibra & every site was clamoring for it. In the end, it was Inter finally.
Wednesday could be a wonderful day to wake up to. If not a surprise, then something to satisfy restless minds!
I think Messi is really good in that age. And he is quite cheap I think, so if we have him, I will be very happy <maybe happier than Torres>. Ronaldo and Alan Smith can't match Messi. They don't have effect. Ronaldo just runs, when he meet a defender, he starts performing, then, he passes to his behind teamate, and wastes a counter attack. Besides, his shoting and passing skill is really bad. Alan Smith, I can't see anything of him.
What makes you think Messi will come cheap? Further, what makes you think Barca will sell him?

Il corriere dello sport of today is reporting that Berlusconi blocked everything about Sobis transfer.
And La Gazzetta dello sport is saying that Galliani phoned Ronaldo, and he is Milan's main target if Milan will be in CL.
Sorry about that Sleep, I was joking on that last post.

']I read that Milan's interest in Tevez has cooled, while ManU and Bayern Munich are favorites to land him.
Seems like we're not an attractive club as Manchester United and Bayern Munich anymore... Or that we're not willing to spend any money?
Well, the management have promised surprise signings, so anything can still happen.
Where did you read that our interest in Tevez has cooled and now Man Utd & Bayern are favourites to land him GilAttack ?? The last i read was that all 3 are associated with him and the player's agent knows this but NO offers have been submitted.
I think we're jumping the gun a little and now all of a sudden we have members who think we're 'not an attractive club' anymore. The slightest sign and everyone goes all gloomy and depressed, give me a break !
The one thing that does concern me is the 'Berlusconi blocks everything' headlines, this has been brewing for a few days now in the Italian papers. I'm hoping this just means that he's waiting until after the CL game before going ahead with further purchases.
I agree that United will have a difficult time replacing Ruud's pure goalscoring ability, but then again the reason he left was because Fergie had replaced him in the lineup with Saha (who was magnificent down the stretch), so really they only lost a backup player (albeit a great one). Granted, Saha has been injury prone, but they also have Rossi, who I think they have a lot of faith in and are ready to let him show what he can do. Plus the veteran Solskjaer is finally healthy again. So they do have four very good strikers they can call on. Of course, I'm sure they'd love to have Tevez. Who wouldn't, right? But they're very thin in the midfield and are lacking the physical presence they had with Roy Keane. That's why they were hoping Milan would be relegated and they might get Gattuso. Carrick is a fine defender and ball distributor, but not the kind of hard-nosed tackler they need. So I think getting someone such as Hargreaves has to be their first priority. But you may be right. We'll see.
As for England being Tevez's preferred destination, I have no idea. He's been linked there a lot (mostly with Chelsea). Usually the players from Argentina prefer to play in Italy or Spain because both the culture and the style of football are more suitable, but everyone is different, so Carlitos might rather go there. I just don't know.

I agree with both of you, Rick and Goose, on whether ManU needs an expensive forward like Tevez - it's a toss up for me really, depending on what opportunities SAF faces in the coming days and first 2-3 games of the EPL.
So far, he seems to be showing faith in Saha and if the Frenchman stays fit, alongside Roonie, getting Tevez won't be a necessity for ManU, I guess as they might decide to focus on strenthening the midfield even more - I read rumours of them having made a bid of 25 mil euros, I think, for Bayern's Hargreaves, who is an excellent mid and a very good RB too.
On England being Tevez' preferred destination, after the high-profile failure of players like Crespo and veron to adjust to England and EPL, I would have to hear it from his own mouth to believe it. I agree with Rick that it has been mostly CHelski he has been associated with for a move to the EPL but that's more along the lines of Abramovich being a major shareholder in MSI and a close friend/business buddy with Corinthian's president. Given the rich presence, and very, very successful one at that, of Argentinians in Italy, Tevez must be out of his mind to go to the EPL, especially with Crespo's ordeal as a vivid example.
The only reason he's linked to Man Utd is because he's pretty good mates with Heinze, that and they need a forward. There's no more truth in their rumours than there are in ours or Bayern's.
The other thing I had forgotten about was that Fergie has converted Alan Smith back into a striker. So he has Rooney, Saha, Smith, Solskjaer and Rossi available.
Smith has always been a striker, i never understood why that mad man tried to pass him off as a midfielder in the first place, it was a stupid idea.
What makes you think Messi will come cheap? Further, what makes you think Barca will sell him?
na, I don't think Messi is too valuable that Barca can't sell him. And I guess his price is about E10M, no more. Because he hasn't shown much last year, just a talented player, not at world class yet. The best time of him till now was U18 Championship I think. And Kaka was not worse than him at that age, and we got Kaka with E8.5M.
About MU. If we REALLY want Tevez, MU can't beat us. They are bad at transferring, they are not as rich as chelsea, and they have bought Carrick with P18.6M so they don't have much money left. And I wonder, if Carrick costs P18.6M, how much MU wants to pay for Tevez?:D
They're more concerned with Hargreaves at present. Which is not to say they won't be monitoring Tevez, but their immediate interest is with the Bayern player.
Josh-Sheva

Then again, NONE of Barcas players are!
Anyway his "future" has already come :)
Guys, Milan are killing me, I cant take it no more!!! I need to see Tevez pulling on a Milan shirt pretty soon. Hes the only player available that I can see doing what Sheva used to do for us (apart from the heading)and maybe even a little more. I dont think Torres will ever be anywhere near Sheva, but Tevez actually could be better. The other brazilian simply cannot be considered as relacement for Sheva. We need Tevez, someone give me some encouraging words or Im going to blow up in anticpation and frustration.
I still remmeber when we needed strikers and we went and got players who were well known and wanted by many teams. I can clearly remember Weah banging goals in all over the place for PSG, who got him us. I remember Sheva scoring in the Europan cup for fun and everyone wanting him, who got him us.
Wheres that ambition gone now, we need Teves!! Im desperate to see a striker like him who can score goals, make goals come to Milan and show the same kind of aggression as Rino does. Thats what we have lacked over the past couple of seasons in those matches against Pool, Depor, and PSV. Someone who is going to run st the other team when we need some pressure relieving of our defence. We cannot only rely on Kaka for this role.
Bring Tevez to Milan Berusconi!!!!!!!

I feel exactly the same, but we lost a whole lot of the transfermarket due to calciopoli verdicts and having to play the CL qualifications. And it still can go bad in Belgrade, which would already jeopardise our entire 2006-07 season, in that case, other than Oddo and a fifth rank striker I don't see anyone coming.
Sad but true, it looks as these days players need guaranteed CL to come to us, the name and magic of Milan isn't enough anymore, even Zambrotta who prefered staying in Italy went to Barcelona in the end because he wanted guaranteed CL football. It's a sad mentality that of today's players.
I see what you mean and this game on Tueday is important, but even if we dont get into the CL we have to win the scudetto and you dont do that by not replacing your star striker. This whole thing is starting to remind me of when United got rid of Stam and paid for it by not replacing him. After this whole crisis Milan need to send a message to Europe that we want another CL. If we dont get Tevez now we will have lost him forever. Of course there is no need to panic, but there is no room for complaceny. We like every other tam except Juve have to win every match by winning on the pitch. Teams wont just roll over for us. The lineup at the moment doesnt exactly strike fear in the heartsof the opponents either.
Messi is cheap, if some clubs want him this summer, you will see. He can't cross over E10M. Why do you think Messi is expensive? In world cup, he was just a normal player in Argentina. Last year at Barca, he shined A BIT in Champion League and the first half of the season. And he got injury and he couldn't show any thing interesting after that. So if you think Messi is expensive, how much do you think?

Messi shone quite a bit at the World Cup, his injury notwithstanding.
Excellent player who Barca have groomed. Will cost ALOT.
the game that made Messi better than a normal player was the match VS Serbia. And it was the game that all Argentina's players shined. Apart from that, Messi was just a normal player in world cup and i didn't find anything interesting from him.
Cost alot. Not sure about this, Messi hasn't been a star like Kaka, Ronaldinho yet. He's only a young talent. So if he can't show anything more interesting next season, no football club'll get him with a expensive price.

Guys, please, get real: Messi is one of the most expensive players right now. In fact, I dont think he has a price unless you want to pay his clause that is 125M.
He has shown little playing for Argentina, but he did impress playing for Barca and we should expect the same this season.
Still, he isnt a guy Milan is targeting. So back to Tevez (this is his topic), and well, his days are numbered in Corinthians. And in spite of what I read (Milan's interest cooling), I find it quite amusing that he hasnt moved yet. So starting wednesday, I will be following this one closely.

His price isn't about what he's shown, its about hype. Maradona labelled him his successor, in Spain he's being called possibly the greatest ever and here in England he's the only player the pundits would ever talk about (along with Riquelme who imo is overhyped too) when referring to Argentina.
I honestly think we should be in the lead for Tevez, I'd be shocked if we aren't. Man U have only had a couple of links so far and one reported refused offer, that was denied by Corinthians I think. Bayern I've heard almost nothing about concerning Tevez, while with us we hear Galliani personally has been talking to Corinthians, Berlu apparantly with Abramovich and a number of Milan officials being in Brazil to sort out the deal.
Messi costing 10 million Euros ?!! hahahaha .... that's the best thing i've heard since mzk57 started talking about only getting pretty players for our club :rotfl:
So Kaka was call "White Pele" and he costed E8.5M. Aimar was praised by Maradona too, and he costed E12M this year <Aimar is better than Messi now, I'm sure>. I don't understand why you regard Messi highly, he hasn't shown anything well enough to be a World Class player. And as far as I know, no club is interested him yet.

I just read on calciomercato that Tevez' contract with Corinthians expires in january, 2007. If that's indeed the case then I have enormous doubts about us getting him now since I doubt Galliani would spend a lot of money on a player he could have for free in less than 6 months.
Of course there is always the chance that we would go for him now if we manage to drive his price low enough ... and maybe include Dida in the deal too shoudl we get another GK (Buffon, Amelia, etc), but that would still seem highly unlikely to me at this point given the short term Tevez has left on his current contract.
I must agree with Zlatanov on this one...

i think an even bigger obstacle before this deal is the Roman-MSI connection. just don't see it how Abramovich would allow a player like Tevez to go to probably their closes rival in the EPL, and a rival in Europe too. It would be brialliant to get him....Gilardino, Inzaghi, Tevez and Ronaldo.....unstoppable......add Gallas, Oddo and Buffon.....and Inter will lose another 'unlosable' title!!!!
We're going to get our hands dirty in the next week. After this much needed win, we'll make a number of major signings. I hope Ronaldo is our surprise signing, although I see many of you aren't to excited about it. Tevez would also be a great addition. Also, does anybody know the latest about the Gallas story?

What did you regret for, Gallas not moving to Milan...or the Cole's switch to Chelsea. Because if you regret the latter, i guess you had seen it from a different perspective, cause Ashley is keen enough to join fellow Judas and Traitors such as our only $hevchenko the shirt kisser and Arjen Robben (who had no respect at all on the friendly and concrete approach by the United management @ that time)

I agree with you.Don't believe Tevez has ever been something more than wishful thinking by Milan fans as I never read anything like a quote by a Milan official making even a single comment about Tevez being even an option for Milan. The only time wha his name was associated with Milan was when he said that he is definitely out of Corinthians and he wants to play in Europe. Somehow, the papers interpreted that as Milan is after Tevez and Tevez sends a message to Milan. Truth is however, he never ever mentioned the name of aparticular clun he wants to play for or he is in negotiations with.
And with a week left till the transfer deadline, there isn't much time left for everyday trips to Brazil, so ... I don't see it happening at this point in time.

If Milan is too worried about replacing Sheva they have certainly not sold him. No matter how badly you want a great player to come the club will get only those that fit their bill, their formation, their way of playing a game which they know and mean business while we are only to talk about.
Remember Berlu owns the club and he manages it with Galiani not us.
Trust them for what they do, it won't be something very stupid.

No, because Tevez was signed by MSI and not Corinthians. And the head of MSI is Kia-J, currently in England (London, more precisely). So if we want Tevez, we have to compensate both, MSI and Corinthians. Actually, Corinthians would ask MSI for some kind of compensation.

No, MSI is a firm that runs their football but isnt Corinthians per-se. This means that MSI tomorrow can leave Corinthians, and someone else would take over. Instead of having a president elected by fans, they have MSI running the show.
So Kia is president of MSI, not Corinthians.
Thats why Corinthians wanted Leao and MSI wanted Parreira to take over as their coach. MSI is the one that invested in Tevez and Mascherano, not Corinthians.

Well, I kind of regret the both I guess. I honestly wanted Cole more as I believe Kaladze is a good CB and Gallas isn't as much of a necessity in my opinion. The LB position to me is more of a concern than the center of the defense. Cole would have brought security in that position and I think he's one of the best LB's in the business. Also, you must understand my friend that unfortunately money speaks loud in soccer these days. Wherever your account gets fatter, that's were you go :(

Looks like a 3 horse race: ManU, Milan and Roma. Maybe after we get Ronaldo, it will be Roma or ManU.
Well, Roma can't afford to buy anymore this summer and he clearly stated he wants to play in England. Man U to me looks like the clear winner of his signature but I still can't see how he would fit in their plans. He definitely isn't the same player as RVN, or even close to that. In my opinion, he's the South American version of Rooney. Just can't see them co-existing on one team. Still, Tevez could be our surprise signing of the summer.

guys, calm down, obviously this is not a question of money. Mrki, said it himself, if we are ready to pay close to 25mil for a Ronie, why not for Tevez ... it's more than obvious that money and being unwilling to spend was not the reason for not going for Tevez ... there must have been other factors - my guess is character related ones - why Milan has never been reported to be seriously interested in Tevez (or at least all the stories in papers turned out to be daydreaming).
Also, given the Roman-MSI connection - Gilattack11 clarified that Tevez is owned not by Corinthians but by MSI's pres. Kia Jaroobchian (sp?), who happens to be a gerat budy and business partner of Roman's - do you really believe that there ever was any chance Milan would get their hands on Tevez if Chelski were even remotely interested in him ... even if Milan offered those 25 mil and even more? I mean honestly, how stretchy one's imagination has to be believe that given what Chelski have been doing on the transfer market over the past 3 years buying star players by the killo regardless of how overpriced they are? How could someone expect that, in these circumstances, Chelski would allow a talanted player like Tevez to slip away from their "dirty mitts" as Jaime put it?
One other thing though, now Tevez is 22 yo ... I bet a bunch of hairs from my back :w154: that before he's 25, he will be on the lookout for a club in Spain or Italy as I give him a season, mostly two, before he realizes why Crespo and Veron failed to settle in in London and that England is not the place for a someone like him. So, don't be too worried about Milan having missed on Tevez for ever, if we want him, I am sure in a couple of years from now we'll have another Crespo-like case staring us in the face.
But until then, try not to blame and curse the management for every single player that goes to Chelski and not Milan ;)

You´re right, zlatanov....Kia works for a Russian magnate called Boris Berezowski(sp?), and the press said in Brazil that Boris and Roman are very close...
A move would obviously favour Chelsea, but i don't think they'd be 100% assured of his arrival.
Wether you like him or not, you can't argue about the guy's talent and goal scoring ability, so it would be a big shame to miss out on such a rare player.
You´re right, zlatanov....Kia works for a Russian magnate called Boris Berezowski(sp?), and the press said in Brazil that Boris and Roman are very close...
Abramovich and Berezovsky are former business partners, but last year Berezovsky sued Ambramovich for allegedly pressuring Berezovsky to sell Roman his Russian assets cheaply after Berezovsky fled the country. Or at least he announced that he intended to do so, although I haven't seen anything about a trial or any sort of outcome.

LOL, but supposedly Chelsea already ""bought"" Tevez for 25M Euros and is loaning him to Rennes.
Agent: Tevez Set For England (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=412330&CPID=103&clid=3&lid=2&title=Agent:+Tevez+set+for+England)
Carlos Tevez's agent has claimed that his charge is nearing a move to England.
Chelsea have been leading the chase in recent months, but Manchester United and Arsenal are also both known to be keen.
Tevez fell out with his Brazilian club Corinthians at the weekend when he walked out following their game with Botafogo - claiming he would not play for them again.
Corinthians coach Emerson Leao has not been shy in condemning the Argentine striker - who looks as if he could be on his way to Europe.
Adrian Rucco, Tevez's agent, admitted a move to The Premiership was on the cards.
"Tevez is very close to moving to an English club," said Rucco.
A host of clubs from Europe are interested in Tevez, with Milan and Bayern Munich also linked.
But Corinthians director Humberto Grondona confirmed that they were under the impression Rucco was setting up a move to England.
"I am convinced that Carlos will go away to some European league," Grondona told La Nacion.
"His representative, Adrian Rucco, was in Rome three days ago and now he has gone to England to look for a club for him."
Reports in France have already stated that Rennes have made contact with Chelsea about the possibility of taking Tevez on loan, should The Blues sign him and decide to let him leave immediately.
Ho-hum.

It seems to me, that based on Tevez´s behaviour, Milan are taking the decision not to persue our intrest in the player...while his talent is undeniable, his unprofessional conduct at this point, is surely (again, IMO) a factor for a club for gentlemen, like Milan, to looke elsewhere....we sold Davids for this reason, and got rid of Coco...
So its hard for me to see us (though I sincerely want him at Milan) going for a player who is behaving like this, and on top of that, has a history of poor behaviour.

Just watched the latest interview with Tevez and he showed a letter signed by Kia that grants permission to him in order to stay away from the team until august 31th. So for those that like to talk without proof and talk nonsense, well, there you go.
He asked Corinthians/MSI to sell him to an important club in Europe because he wants new challenges and believes he is ready to take that next step (this after Argentina's defeat in Germany 2006). His agent is in London, as well as Kia trying to finish some deal. Didnt talk about any specific club, but I guess there wont be any surprises (Chelsea or some english club).

Gilattack, let me ask you something - what do you undertstand by "team spirit" or "devotion to one's team/teammates"? Is it something like "one for all, all for one" or is it soemthing like a contractual obligation that you follow just because you put a signature on a sheet of paper and you are getting paid very well to do?
See, with or without that signed-by-Kia letter, Tevez' team is fighting to avoid relegation and are going through hell right now. OK, he does have the letter that allows him to leave the team and go do whatever in Buenos Aires ... but does that mean that he should take advantage of this just because Corinthians can't force him to stay? So, what's in the end the price, not value but price, of his duty to his team and teammates - a signed permission to go mess around with nice Argentinian girls?
My point is that true, genuine devotion to a team should not be shown just beacuse he didn't have a signed permission by Kia ... because once Tevez has that letter and he takes advantage of it, it turns out that his so called "team spirit" was something he had been parading only because some contract was forcing him to ... this is a false and poor and quite deceitful substitution for "team spirit" because genuine "team spirit" is something that you have either have it in you or you don't ... and no contract or signed permission to take your butt to Aires will be able neither to create nor destroy thus making you forego your duties to your team ... duties that exist in you, not because of some stupid sheet of paper with your sig on it, but because of who you are as a person.
All in all, if Tevez had stayed, eventhough he had permission to go, that would have been something to in fact admire. What he did, however, is use that signed permission to basically wash his hands with.

Well, I repeat: people like to talk without proof. He doesnt have to come here to be with nice argentinean girls because he has his girl and daughter.
Kia promised Tevez that he will leave Corinthians after the World Cup and he didnt fulfill that promise. So now he is allowing Tevez to sit, not risk any injury, and get his wish to be transfered to an european side. Whats so hard to understand? Why would they risk injury in one or two games that Tevez will miss just because his boss didnt backup his words?
Admire Tevez for staying there in spite of having permission to leave? OK, its quite possible. But him leaving is OK as well, there was a gentlemen's agreement and so be it. He went by the rules, I have no problems with this behaviour. Im not tipping my cap to Tevez for leaving, but Im not criticizing him or inventing things to make him look bad.
Dont worry, Corinthians has enough talent to win without Tevez. They arent in that position because its Tevez +10. And since our friend Brasilero argues that most of his teammates doesnt like him, what better than watch him go?
Oh, and most of Tevez's teammates knew that he was leaving after that sunday match, he didnt went AWOL.
On another note, Tevez said that Mascherano is also willing to move, he make it sound as if he is desperate to leave Corinthians. And before someone compares both cases, they are quite different!

']Just watched the latest interview with Tevez and he showed a letter signed by Kia that grants permission to him in order to stay away from the team until august 31th.
This is fair enough, GilAttack [11]...and I believe in that letter sign by Kia. But it was Tevez that created a problem, because(at least here in Brazil) it was promising that wants to stay in Corinthians after the WC. Every player in the world dream to play in Europe, it´s normal...and it is truth that a player can´t to say that wants to go out of the club, but Tevez made the supporters believed that would not go to leave....
BTW, don´t get me wrong, isn´t a brazilian x argie thing, I will be very glad w/ Mascherano or Lucho Gonzalez in Milan side, but Tevez(at least in Brazil) was one of the biggets primmadona that I ever saw...and IMO Tevez can ruin the team chemistry.
In the end of the day, I dont think Tevez's off-field activity will have too much of a determinant as to whether he will sign for us. I think it's more to do with his price and availability. Knowing us these days, if his price is above the 30M mark, we are unlikely to go for him, no matter how god-like he may become off the field. Secondly, I honestly doubt whether he is available for any other club except for Chelsea.
Yes, Milan like players who will contribute to the team and demonstrate team spirit, but that is not our ONLY criteria in signing players. Shevchenko wasnt exactly a model team player---the guy throws tantrums just because he gets substituted, and that too late in games when we are winning. Look at Seedorf. I guarantee you he will begin moaning the moment he is relegated to the bench for more than 2-3 games. And our beloved Pippo Inzaghi can also be a distraction if not played regularly.
So what I'm saying is that if we dont sign Tevez, I wont believe for one minute that the reason was solely due to his on-field disruptive behaviour. That may have a part to do with it, but I think the bigger issues are money and availibily. Ask yourself, if Tevez was available for say 10M, wouldnt Milan immediately make a bid for him? If we didnt, we'd be pretty stupid.

Its quite simple: lets wait until he moves to Europe and see the cancer he is...
And no, Tevez repeated yet again that if by some reason he has to go back to Brazil, its going to be because of Corinthians' fans but plenty of things will have to change. He admitted he was not motivated enough to go back to Brasil after the world cup, from playing against Germany in a terrific stadium to playing against Portuguesa in the back yard (for example).
But we will see what happens...IMO the only problem Tevez is going to face when joining an european side is playing time. That could be hard for him if he is relegated to the bench and to play one game every month. But other than that, I would bet he wont be a trouble maker or something of that sort.

He will not be benched. Especcially if Chelski send him to Rennes, He is a top class striker, there is no need for him to be resting while a match is going on.

Yes, while I agree that Carlitos has harmed his reputation with his current holdout, I think those who are claiming he is a "cancer" or some sort of troublemaker are being unfair and don't really know his history. I follow Argentine football and particularly Boca Juniors. He was never a problem there. He was one of the most beloved players in the club's history. In fact, the only reason he moved to Corinthians when he did was so that his family could hopefully get some peace because they were constantly mobbed by adoring fans. It was as though he was loved too much in his hometown.
I don't know the whole situation of what has transpired at Corinthians, nor do I know the truth of whatever alleged interest Milan may or may not have had in acquiring him. But from what I know, at least, I would have no reservations about having him on my team (if I had one, of course).
Anyway, here is an article from this morning's Miami Herald with some comments from Corinthians' coach:

i wouldnt exactly say he has passed through our fingers, with Tevez being owned by MSI, chelsea have always had a finger in the pie! if Milan did the same thing, we would have been done for conflict of interest!!

According to this site, Tevez has officially left Corinthians. He will join Chelsea next year after spending a year on loan at Rennes.

It says something on calciomercato about milan and Tevez, but I cant understand a word even after I translate it in babelfish. :coffee:

it's nothing really - just says that Tevez, on whose tracks is also Milan, says that "several european clubs are interested in his sig, especially some English clubs". The aricle also goes on to say that Kia and one of Tevez' agents could be in London to finalize his transfer next week ... doesn't say to which club, of course ;)
In the end, Chelski and ManU are mentioned as the two favourites for his sig.
That's pretty much it. Milan's name, and probbaly that of ManU, are virtually thrown in the rumour mill to create an impression that there is actually a race and all participants in it start off with a fair chance to get him ... of course, in reality, however, it's a one-horse-race and the name of his new club is already known, although unofficially.

Comes from Calciomercato...
If I understand it well, it says Tevez is close to a deal with Roma... :(
Yet, let's not give up hope, for he's been linked with "done deals" at Chelsea and Man U as well over the last few days...

No, but they act quite strange, because in the last article they wrote about Tevez, Milan was mentionned... So it might still be possible...

That would be a bolt out of the blue if Roma got him, especially if it's not involving Chelsea in any kind of way.
If he did go there, at least we could see if he settles into Italian football both on & off the pitch.
If he goes to Roma I will go and kick Galliani's behind personally
Again, if this is true, maybe it's the security of first-team football that is attracting him. At Chelsea he'd have alot of competition for places, same at Man Utd. At Bayern he'd probably go into the first 11 and i'm almost 100% sure he'd become an instant starter if he joined us.
Although there are no guarantees, we're one of the few 'big' clubs that can almost certainly offer him a spot in the first 11 straight away.
Milan would be negotiating with Tevez' agent right now...
