Sunday we host Palermo... we have to improve from yesterday or Palermo will punish us like they did in the Coppa match last season..

Channel 4 think this will be our line up, i would have to agree with that...

Milan (probable): Dida; Cafu, Kaladze, Nesta, Jankulovski; Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf, Kakà; Gilardino, F.Inzaghi

AC Milan vs Palermo

:sigh: So its Same day delayed...hope RAI shows it live...or maybe Zlat or NAMMY can hook us up with some streams?

Why am I looking forward to this game: Well, it will represent a barometer if you will, of where we really are this season...this will be, IMO a stern test for us, as we come up against a team that is really performing quite well this term (to date)...the hiccup vs Atalanta for me was just that...a hiccup...and the table tells no lies...they are deservedly in the position they hold..

So a stern test for us, coming off a rather difficult game vs Anderlecht in the UCL...still, I look to see Pirlo returning to form, and hopefull Kaka will maintain or improve upon his excellent second half performance vs the Belgian team.

FORZA MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILAN!!!

if Serghino was fit i would play a 4-3-2-1 and have Serghino up with Kaka supporting Inzaghi or Gila... That has worked before, plus the team would be dynamite going forward :devs: think i spent too long at the bar tonighttt...

After the dramatic victory against Anderlecht then this game would be the start of Milan's winning ways in the league.

Palermo shall play in Germany today against Eintracht Frankfurt...so logically Milan have more days to recover from their tiredness rather than Palermo.

I bet for Milan with 2-0 win..... :v103:

We have to win this one if we want to keep any chance in winning the leaque.
I should play Inzaghi and Oliveira in the attack as it packed out well against Anderlecht and we created a lot of chances with them...but we do have to take those chances at Sunday.

Yes Warro, tell him to play Dida in goal.

im sure dida-jankulovski-keladze-nesta-cafu will be our back line. Pirlo-gattuso and kaka will be in the middle. And if Gourcuff is ready, he could play a part after seedorf if off. Or seedorf on for gourcuff, it all depends of phisical condition.
Up front, gila will probably start alongside oliveira as we need a forward that can play also on the wings. I hope that we can score an early goal with a lot of quality posession so we can calmly end the game( havent seen that for a while ). If Palermo closes and doesnt concide in the first 60 minutes we will be in big trouble.

If Kaka is not going to be moody, we have a chane...in the opposite case, plus if Gila plays - we are in trouble. According to Gazzetta Pirlo is not going to play and there ll be Brocchi. This is also not a best thing that might happen. Lets cross our fingers and see what happens. Palermo desperately needs a win, and they are going to be very tough.

I would provide some streams (when available), but we don't have a wireless network set up here in my student house yet. Fortunately, Bravo UK will be showing the match from 7:00pm, so that's how I'll be watching. Zlats better at giving streams anyhoo. :v408:
Re the match, of course I hope for Milan to win comfortably, with Gila and Oli scoring. however, Palermo have been doing well so far this season, and Milan always seem to play below par when I watch them ....

Still nothing on Milan-Palermo, Warro. It's a Sunday game so the schedule will be updated tomorrow afternoon ... right now, I can find up to date schedules for Saturday games only.
The game should be available on stream, although Milan-Palermo overlaps with Real-Barca and most streams would be showing the Spanish derbi ... I personally have a feeling QSIV would be showing the Milan game cause, at least for now, they don't seem to have Real-Barca on.

For Canadian viewers Milan-Palermo will be live on TLNtv ;)

Inzaghi - Gilardino should start the game, according to Gazzetta. Hope that Inzaghi or Kaka will score...

nefremo
21-10-2006, 00:22
I hope Oliveira starts alongside Gilardino. The only league game they started together was Parma-Milan and Gilardino had to be substituted because of injury before half time I think. Besides they both played less the Inzaghi against Anderlecht so I would say that both of them will play on sunday. I think it will be interesting as Oliveira will drop deep to help Kaka and collect the ball, which will allow Gilardino to do what he does best and roam inside the box (Pippo style). It might work out great and give Gilardino a couple of goals.

Milan - Palermo : 3-0 (Gilardino x 3) :p017: at least I hope so for Gila's sake! :guw:

Dida - Cafu - Nesta - Maldini - Jankulovski - Pirlo - Brocchi - Seedorf/Gourcuff - Kaka/Gourcuff - Oliveira - Gilardino

If Gourcuff is going to be ready then I don't mind handing Kaka or Seedorf (expecially Kaka) some rest as we do have another midweek game this comming Wednesday against Chievo away.

Tomorrow in the evening my husbends friend from Palermo ll come to watch the game with us. She supports Palermo of course. So Milan would better win, or I might kill her right there :).
Anyway, Palermo is in a good shape now...they have good players like Corini and Bresciano...I dont think we ll win 3:0, maybe 2:1. Seems to me that defence of Palermo is not that good, according to statistics: they scored 14 goals and considered 12. While Milan scored 6 and considered 2. Did you notice guys how we really dont score many goals this year? Is it absence of Sheva? Seems to me that yes.

Egoistka

Oliveira will not start the game, he might come on substitution. I hope he scores too. Inzaghi is not being brilliant, Gila as usual...so the only hope I have is that Oliveira worths something and starts scoring. Because if not, then we are in deep sh*t.

Carlo says Jankulovski will play as a midfielder. So that could mean Favalli or Kaladze will play as a LB. With Nesta-Maldini as a CB pair. Cafu will be on the right.

From an article on channel 4

“We are dealing with the Gilardino situation. He’s physically fine, so it’s time for him to end this blasted drought and get a goal that will clear the air. Marcos Cafu will start, while I confirm Marek Jankulovski at left-back and the entire midfield. My only doubts are tied to the central defenders and forwards.” [statement from Ancelotti]

They are without the injured Massimo Ambrosini, Yoann Gourcuff and Serginho, while Dario Simic and Giuseppe Favalli are fighting back from niggling fitness worries.

-----------------------------------------------

This should explain some of our absentees.

I really feel the team have had a sudden surge of much needed confidence this week and Palermo are not a defensively sound side, despite the quality attacking play. I really believe this is a critical match for us, as Inter and Roma both drew and we can possibly damage Palermo's great run this season.

A must win at all costs as we need to start regaining ground again, but now I believe we'll start winning more games after the important win on Wednesday.

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

22-10-2006, 12:55
with a win tonight and a win against Inter on saturday we are on -5, and that is ok. Wit hthe key word is WIN. Lineup looks good, the best we can offer. Now lets play the best we can, as we didnt do it so far this season.

Inter and Roma drew tonight. If we beat Palermo, that means we will have caught up on the top 3 in Serie A. Knowing Milan, everytime the leader slips we seem not to play well and drop points. Comon we shouldnt miss this chance.

Official lineups:

DIDA
CAFU - KALADZE - NESTA - JANKU
GATTUSO - PIRLO - SEEDORF
KAKA
GILA - INZAGHI

Another Gila-Inzaghi combo, you guys know what that means, we have to struggle.

Look at our subs,

Fiori, Maldini, Costacurta, Simic, Brocchi, Oliveira, Borriello

Why do we need 3 defenders? We don't need Costacurta in that list, why not give the place to a midfield Primavera player?

Jeff
22-10-2006, 14:31
Milan's defense has been solid so far. The reason Milan is going to continue to go strong this season will definitely be its defense. Nesta is having a FUN game so far, and Kaladze is certainly enjoying himself. Janku is doing great, while Cafu is uncharacteristically cautious on the right flank.

Kaka played well, Pirlo is ok, Seedorf tried hard but didn't turn into anything.

Inzaghi had a couple of threatening shot, while Gila seems to be frustrated. His pass to Inzaghi who then half-volleyed it deserved credit.

Psychological you think? maybe i am a 2nd level in phychologist department but the only thing i am sure is about Gila, he needs to see a specialist.

COME ON GUYS! CUT THIS FREAKING CRAP ABOUT GILADIRNO.

There are 2 stirkers and you guys keep picking up on one. Instead of blasting Nesta for the stupid mistake or Dida for not punching the ball away, you blame GILARDINO. How easy it is?

Grow up and watch the freaking game and stop blaming player. Inzaghi didn't do s*it today as well. Just shut the he@@ up and don't find ANYONE as the scapegoat.

after the last 10 minutes, I feel really sympathetic to Milan. It's not that Milan doesn't have the skills; more than needed to beat a team like Palermo... it's a psychological issue...

Perhaps it is good that they lose tonight. It will force a re-examination of the players and the squad that we have.

I think that Milan is under too much pressure to perform by starting 8 points behind. The season is still long, hopefully some forceful re-examination can be done.

I do not have much hope for Milan this season because of two things:
1) The loss of Sheva
2) The capioli scandal which robbed us of our entire pre-season and 8 points

I would be glad if we qualified for the Champs league this season.

This is not one man's fault! out team won't start magically wining again if we buy ronaldinho or bring back sheva or fire ancelotti. There's something wrong with the team as a whole. Theres been a growing cancer in this side since we won cl. since then we have had the depertivo dabacle, the liverpool tragedy, losin to barca ect. ect. It is something we shud have seen comin considering that we have not won anything in the last two years. It is time for a new theory. We no longer need some players to compliment our team, we need new players to base the roots of our team on. The way i see it there are two players that are very key to this team and we need to keep in our system for many years to come, nesta and kaka. we shud no longer buy band aid solution for our defense like favalli or bonera. its time to get rid of that garbage and buy some cornerstones for generations to come. players like barzagli, oddo, torres, sneider, amelia, suazo, gasbarroni. and please get rid of gila, its taking him far too long to find his comfort zone. mayb a deal like gila+cash+wut atletico owe us for torres?but there is no point in firing the coach or buyin a player when it is evident that the unit as a whole is rotten.

i don't think sacking Carlo now will solve anything i think we should stick with him this season and then sack him, we should spend big for next season or we should buy a lot of players because this squad lacks depth and we see how much this hurts us.
With this squad we won't win anything maybe the UCL but i doubt it, i didn't think Sheva's departure would hurt us so much but now i see it did.

Yea Warro you're right we were unlucky that will be Carlo's and everybodies excuse for sure :)
and also we miss Serginho's runs and crosses on the left Janku can't attack like Sergio, the injury of Gourcuff came in bad time also maybe if we had him we could've win some of those draws, that is the problem with don't have depth what will happen if Kaka gets injured for a long time(god forbid) then we'll be really screwed.

A HORRIBLE NIGHT FOR ME AS MILAN LOOSE !!

I loss my big bet on Milan and the tragedy was that I add another bet after half time with a thought that Milan could score.
They don't and conceded another goal from Amauri instead !!!

Not as an excuse but what I saw during the live game on my TV was that Milan played so slow !!
I have noticed this slow pace of ball playing during 3-4 recent games !!!
There is no more pressure game being shown by Milan to force their opponent to defend but just playing the ball so slow, passing incorrectly.
The player were so sloppy were Gattuseo and Seedorf !!
I can't see anymore the pressure from Gattuso ..or maybe he thought that with the captain armband he wore on his arm meaning that he can play so slow and clumpsy??

If Milan do not change their playing tactic or Carletto couldn't find a good strategy on how to play against an almost defending opponents (which almost all teams knew how to play agaist Milan) it would be the end of Milan's winning possibility.....a very closed and tight from the midfield and defense by just letting one or two player upfront..and...Abracadabra ..they stop Milan for scoring goal/s !!

The 1st goal was purely Nesta's fault as he didn't know where the ball is..and Bresciano make use of Nesta's stupidity to score...
The 2nd goal was Dida's fault as it seemed that he's not ready for a shot from..again Bresciano...He just tiiped off the ball not too far away but to Simplicio header and finished by Amauri.....

Again this is the most horrible night for me to watch Milan played like an amateur team...play slowly and no pressure at all !!!

Berlusconi was leaving after the half time and could be a sign for him to find a new coach for Milan....

One more thing...in this situation I just simply miss Serginho who always gice good cross to the strikers!!!!

the game wasn't as bad as the result might suggest and some people are really making it sound like we are real, real bad.

Obviously, one can't say that thigns are going well for us now but the team played well today and showed more agressiveness than in that game vs Livorno for isntance - worst game by Milan this season IMO. Today, if it wasn't for that howler by Nesta, the game could have ended in avery different way as Palermo's second goal was the result of their 0-1 lead as Milan was throwing everyone forward looking for an equaliser.

The team does lack concentration and the string of average results has beat up owr confidence a little but to say that we are playing crap and the coach has to go is jjust plain overreacting IMO not to mention the ridiculous comparissons to the 96/97 and 97/98 seasons.
Right now, we are playing pretty well just not getting the results we should. A lot of work DOES need to be done especaially when it comes to bringing more concreteness and precision in our game. These, however, are issues that are solvable as long as the players, coaches, and club officials manage to keep their heads cool, recognize the problems and get down to work ... and the people working at Milan are experienced enough to know how to deal with situations like this one.

Several players coming back from injuries - like Gorky, Sergio, and Ambro - as well as Gila and RO finally getting their act together will all make things much easier for the coaching staff. Of course, adding some new faces in January could help but we don't need to make this a revolution as one is simply not needed. A touch here and there, raising concentration and awareness among the players we already have will be all we need to be back as contenders on both fronts - its the results that are really lacking, not our play ... this tells me it's more of a psychological/concentartion issue rather than anything to get desparate about - in these situations, the best thing to do is keep cool, while working on the problems instead of point fingers in despair, buy player after player with no clear idea why, and end up making issues much deeper and bigger than they actually are.

Oh, and to most of you guys, please, for the next several days, avoid getting anywhere near kitchens or shooting ranges - I will miss you
Peace and Forza Milan!!!

I would say that you are right but one think I must say,Seedorf must be benched, not that his not good, he simply doesnt fit with milans style anymore
Kaka,Oliveira, Janku, Cafu, are pace players who like to atack at any time under any condition, Pirlo,Pippo and Gila are unpredictable. And seedorf neither is pace nor is unpredictable,I bet Sergio would do much better, cuz he has the tendency to attack without looking back.Seedorf always stops looks around than he makes a move, players like Kaka and Oliveira dont like that.
Thats what I had to say.

Carlo needs to understand that the 4-3-1-2 just won't work with Gila and Inzaghi paired up front. Seeing that we don't have any support strikers besides Oli.. and since he won't be able to play every three days, I suggest we alternate between 4-3-1-2 and 4-3-2-1...only playing a 4-3-1-2 when Oliveira can play. Higuain or someone of his calibur/style in January would be brilliant.

Ok, "rebuild the squad".... lets see:
1. New GK
2. New defence (Maldini, Costacurta, Cafu all out...)
3. Some refreshment in the midfield
4. Worldclass striker

That will cost how much?? 50-80 millions??? And who is going spend it?? Berlusconi??? What a stupitidy will it be if he'll spend 90 mill on Ronaldinho and leave the rest of the team as it is.... than we'll descover that even Ronaldinho can be useless, in our team at least.

I am very dissapointed with this match. First of all, Milan didnt deserve to lose 0:2. The following things were horribly wrong::
1. during the first half everyone tried to pass on Nesta, to make him score a goal for his recently born daughter. If we have been winning 2:0 at the time, I would understand such thing, but not really when the score was 0:0. That was costly, as we now can see. Nesta was so much in attack, that seems to me he have forgotten that he is a defender in fact.
2. Inzaghi for the whole match was in offside, constantly complaining at the ref about his decision.
3. Gilardino missed many good opportunities to score.
4. The substitution of Gattuso for Brocchi was the wrong one.
5. Kaladze made bad mistakes in defence.
Kaka played well...Every attack was started by him, almost every cross was made by Kaka. I guess he was very unlucky today, but still I think he was the man of the match. Dida did all he could...I dont think that the goals are his mistake. Cafu and Seedorf constantly were losing the ball, or passing it to Palermo. Pirlo was playing well, but not as good as he usually does. Oliveira have been given too little time to do smth, I think Ancelotti should have given him more time...at least 40 mins.
Considering that Palermo doesnt have a good defence - we ve done really bad...we should have scored, and not once (especially knowing how good is Palermo's attack at the moment). Bresciano and Corini have played very good, and our Nesta (who probably doesnt sleep at night properly now) was unable to shut their attacks. I hope that this "Nesta period" will not be long - otherwise we are in a big trouble: we have big problems in attack, plus now we started having problems in defence. During 6 matches in Seria A this year we considered only 2 goals...and today against Palermo 2 in one match.... :str: :(

to save this season we need to change formation to 4-5-1. Buy a creative AM, someone, there are some good young palyers in sure.... And play with more possesion game. this simply isnt working, we are too slow and too predictable.

With just one chamge we can do this..........

.........kaka'........someone ( maybe this River kid...)
................pippo..........................

this would change our game drastically.

I didn't see the game as I was too ocupied watching Real trash Barca..hehe..I'll say that I still belive this season is not lost. I think it's the players fault as much as it is Carlo's (who rotates the squad quite badly, but his tactics and coaching approach are fine). They play with complete lack of vision in the midfield. We play the same plays over and over again with no effect. It's like the players have no inspiration. And no coach can inspire an uninspired team without some radical cuts. And cuts in defense won't change the way we play offensively.

The bottom line for me is that Kaka is no good (never mind the goal vs Anderlecht). He's the fantasista. That means he cant go for 10 miuntes withoug geting the ball. And the other three mF need to stay in formation and press the opponent and the results will show.

Finaly, I also don't like this everything is fine thing from Milanello, but I most seriously oppose the position that Milan is going down faster than the Titanic..

I havent got a clue what some people here are talking about. Giving match reports without even bothering to watch the game..criticising Kaka who is our one driving force this season...blaiming Carlo for the strikers poor form etc

I mean for God's sake what should Carlo do run on the pitch and score himself. Milan were absolutely dominant, the midfield was bending over backwards to get our strikers a goal, but they couldnt score in a brothel right now. Nesta decided to defend like an amatuer for one moment after which the team were just mentally hurt because our strikers were just not going to score and all of a sudden its Carlo's fault.

You could tell Carlo told the midfield to get the ball to the strikers, Pirlo was sending heat seekers to them every five minutes, Seedorf was actually playing quickly most of the time instead of in slow motion, Gatusso was desperate to tackle anyone with the ball, Kaka was trying to feed the strikers all game long. The fullbacks were pushing forward even though their crossing wasnt too good. Even Kaladze was trying to get things going. Maldini made some great moves when he came on, Oliveira seemed happy to just get a game, I mean you do realise he cant pick Diego Maradona dont you.

Tell me what did you really want Carlo to do, he simply doesnt have the tools available to him to go out and win every week. If you want some one to blaime then blaime Galliani for thinking he works for Bolton Wonderers and signing average players to replace champions.

I think its good we lost this game so our players finally understand that we have to run our butts off to win, and the game is not won just because we are AC Milan.

I will repeat again and again, the reason we are losing this year is because of MILANS MANAGEMENT. Not because of the coach, not because of Gila that amateur, not because of Nesta. It is because we dont have a world class squad but we have a world class starting lineup, THATS IT. FKING patheting transfer campaign, not even if i was a Torino fan i would be happy with. Galliani and Braida are the ones to blame for this disgusting transfer campaign.

Ofcourse the players are also at fault during times, but what more can they do? Our 3 midfielders have to play almost every game because Gourcuff is out injured, Ambro breaks a nail every now and then and gets injured for six months, and Brocchi who simply isnt good enough. Kaka who has no sub at all, has to play every game whether he is tired or not. And last but not least, our mediocre attack who cant create for sh*t.

Fire Galliani and Braida already. A club as rich as Milan going for free or cheap 30+ year old for the team, and selling our STAR player for 30m and getting an unproven player to play in his place. What pisses me off the most, is that we only bought Oliveira to meet his agent to get Ronaldinho. Its like they even know that hes not good enough.

GET RID OF THIS MANAGEMENT, AND USE THIS TRANSFER WINDOW WISELY

I was speaking on general terms, just trying to explain my vision of play. To have Kaka play a 3/4 role with freedom and vision and have the three mF behind him stay in formation, cover some space and pass decisevely and with percision. And to have a solid back four. Then, the wins are sure to come.

As I didnt watch the game, I was actually commenting the Anderlecht game where every Millan possesion was EXACTLY the same and I dont remember seeing Kaka with the ball once in the whole first half...when I let it out on Kaka its just that...I'm angry that he goes AWOL for periods...I will try to watch more games :-)

Carlo is a good coach. But there is always a time when coach have given everything to the team he manages and there is nothing more he can add - that is the time when a coach needs to go to another club. All teams always need some changes, some new blood, some new style - and this is actually what Milan desperately needs now.

Its not really all about the players - its about tactics. He d play the same tactics with whatever players, because its his style. I can give you an example...Zenit ST-Petersburg...we have go a new coach now - **** Advocat. He is soooo much different from our previous coach, which was also a good one in my opinion. two big doods in central midfield and a lack of creativity.

Carlo's system is fine, it just needs someone to replace Cafu and Seedorf when they are not fully upto it and a new striker to replace Sheva. Let me remind you we have been the most succesful team in the CL in the past few years with Carlo's system.

And players not being important, when we play Barca or Chelsea this year and Nesta or Kaka are injured then Il ask you who will win. :ilol:

This is just ridiculous. Not just yesterday's result, but our play and results over the last 3-4 games or so. Somebody has to take responsibility. I dont think Carlo's necessarily to blame. As somebody has already mentioned, if you're given crap to work with, then how much can we really expect?

If the management wants to take credit for us being the most successful team in Europe (despite winning only 2 major trophies) over the past few years, then they also have to take criticism for GAMBLING on 35 year old Cafu, Seedorf, Inzaghi/Gila, RO and essentially the same midfield as 2003!!! Everyone know our team needed some freshening up over the summer. Everyone know we needed to replace our game-winning striker. BUt management decided to take their chances----I will never understand why. After pocketing a cool 30M for Sheva, the least we could have done is brought in some world class players---and IMO, Oliveira doesnt fit the bit. He should have come in for AMoroso, not for Shevchenko.

Capello has got his own style, but at least he has some ambition. Look what he has done with Real Madrid. They got Diarra (supposedly our transfer target), RVN, Reyes, Cannavaro, Emerson---all this while we pick up Oliveira and a young Gourcuff. This is just ridiculous. I am not one for buying players simply for the hell of it, but when you actually NEED them, why do we insist that our current players are good enough. How many more years is Cafu, Dida, Seedorf going to give us? And like someone said, what if Kaka gets injured? Then what?

Oldman
22-10-2006, 22:03
I would say that you are right but one think I must say,Seedorf must be benched, not that his not good, he simply doesnt fit with milans style anymore
Kaka,Oliveira, Janku, Cafu, are pace players who like to atack at any time under any condition, Pirlo,Pippo and Gila are unpredictable. And seedorf neither is pace nor is unpredictable,I bet Sergio would do much better, cuz he has the tendency to attack without looking back.Seedorf always stops looks around than he makes a move, players like Kaka and Oliveira dont like that.
Thats what I had to say.

BRAVO KASTRIOT !!!
I can't explain as good as you do above!!
There are 2 players I had noticed in recent Milan games.

1. Seedorf always hold the ball and looked around where to pass it or made back passes with a very slow pace meaning to hold the team pace in overall.
2. Gattuso didn't as fast as before and seems that he loose his pressure power to hold the opponent players. In many cases he also like Seedorf..slowing down the pace of the team play.

Hope that Milan could improve in the midweek game against the Flying Donkey who have their Old Trainer back in their home...Gigi Neri who had a good record against Milan.

Yes we have been so predictable. Take Palermo too as a counterexample. This team takes risks owning to the fact that they’ve scored so many goals and conceded a whole lot too, and some from laughable mistakes. Played a back 4 against a win with Lazio and today, they only had 3 in their backline. Even Zaccardo usually plays as a right back and not on the left. And I’ve seen their defense running up front to counter and confident in leaving their line (Barzagli - who was stellar :lick: , Zaccardo). When I was watching this game, it was reminiscent of how Palermo frustrated Lazio from scoring in a previous game, although Lazio had more chances and ball possession.

But this Palermo had a common consciousness and alertness, what Milan seemed to be missing today. Some of our players played well, pushed forward but a missed pass in a linkup costed a lot. When our pace was slow, Palermo’s midfield sniffed out our passes and closed in on us. Seedorf was slow :wow: and hence the attack hesistant at times and the baldies and co. were more dynamic! Sorry Gila, but he wasn’t in the rhythm too. I almost laughed when someone thought of a Milan 3-0 scoreline because Palermo have been doing well and have been focused in their away games, and also deservedly won today.

If we want to improve, we first have to admit that the other team played better as a whole (played to win). We can't keep saying that we played well, hit the post, Gila unlucky again, again, again etc. As we can see from the series of consecutive draws we had in Serie A, our stale playing style and tactics culminated in a home game that we lost.

22-10-2006, 23:18
I have always had this idea that our midfield gets the most balance with Seedorf because he defends and attacks and he does both pretty good. Lately however, he looks so slow...that I don't even expect him to pass the ball in less then 3-4 seconds. Is he lazy to get himself in the open so he can actually play pay attention to where his teammates are be quick to get them the ball? Because it seemd today like he was always struggling with the ball and had to look around every time he got the ball. It took him forever to even make the simplest pass.

Inzaghi's form seems to have dipped as fast as it came after his long-term injury. I was so furious with him....I wished I could jump on the field and b!tch-smack him to tell him that he needs to look around if he is onside before making a run..........then again that is nothing new with him however on other occasions he would score after being in offside 100billion times and lately he doesn't. Both him and Gilardino missed some opportunities as they could have done better.

Nesta was good......but what was he doing on the first goal. I gues you can't blame the guy. No one is perfect and everyone will make mistakes. I seriously can not recall Nesta doing something like that ever before.
The second goal..........Dida Dida Dida. What more to say. He is one of the best keepers in the world........but the guy has a problem with shots as he never holds them. Even though he does good with palming them away as that one maybe couldn't have been held........but come on. They teach 10 year old keepers this rule......."WHEN YOU PUNCH....PUNCH TO THE SIDE, NEVER THE MIDDLE".

As of asking for Carlo's head?...come on. Be serious. We have to look at the fact that our team depends too much on Pirlo and Kaka. There is no more Shevchenko, there is no more younger explosive and healthy Cafu, and apperantly there is no more good Seedorf. Serginho is injured and we lack forwards so we are forced to play with 2 box strikers who can't create for crap. On the other hand we have injuries that are forcing Kaka to play every single freakin game............and when rough times come like for example we are down 1-0...........we have no attacking options. We needed an attacking option in midfield but the best we have at the time is Brocchi so that's who Carlo put in. Seedorf decides to play as slow as my grandma but what can Carlo do? Who to put in??? Gourcuff is injured and he is the ONLY offensive midfield substitution we have.
Where is Carlo's fault in this???? Some of you please tell me that!!
I don't mind seeing a change at the end of the season. Hopefully Lippi. But at this point of time.....there is no need for Carlo sack. It simply won't help us as it is not him who is at fault......but some of the players need to get their act together or simply be replaced.

I believe in this team as someone here mentioned it before. WE DO HAVE A WOLRD CLASS STARTING 11 that can play with any team in the world on any given day. Sometimes things will go wrong however and that is understandable (like today)... but that is where the back ups come in and that is where we are short or simply not good enough.

Our eleven starters:
1/ Dida needs to be replced, he is not singing anyway
2/ Cafu needs to be replced, he is too old
3/ Kalaz needs to be benched
4/ Nesta can start (but going down)
5/ Janku needs to be replaced
6/ Seedorf needs to be benched
7/ Gatuso is OK (but going down)
8/ Pirlo is OK
9/ Kaka is OK
10/ and 11/ 2 of out striker need to be replaced or benched.

Out of 11 only 4 are OK, how do we win things with this squad ?

i really now started laughing about the score because it is too ridiculous.. what a disgrace!

anyway, lets see what happens in chievo.. its been now 6 games in a row where we played 100% boring, predictable football and still another game where we couldn't score a goal. THERE IS A PROBLEM, WE CANT IGNORE IT. Bring Piazza. Bring Di Gennaro. FFS EVEN PUT FIORI IN ATTACK, I DONT GIVE A FLYING FK WHO YOU BRING, but just dont you see that what we are doing doesnt work? I dont want to see a Pippo/Gila partnership again, EVER.

Then what?

Well done!!!I agree with you 100%!!!

i was going to Mension Di Gennaro, think if we still are without a paddle in the next couple of weeks i would start him... or we could play a 4-5-1 and play Piazza next to Kaka.

How much control does Ancelloti have over the transfers? Milan need a scapegoat and i cant see Belusconi firing Galliani.... I dont want to be over negative and depressing, but people here need to see how things really are, and what a state we are in.

What is best, to play ok and lose 0-2 or play like a bunch of noobs and draw 1-1?

I find it amazing that some people here are only now seeing the problems that some of us have been trying to point out for quite a long time.

Anyway, for those who are interested, the attendance was 51,000 last night and Berlusconi made a point to congratulate Palermo's director (Gloomy?) in person and compliment his team. It's nice to know that we still have class.

Gila and Pippo don't even know how to make a run to make space for each other or make passes to each other, they step on each other foot. Must send Gila back to Parm to recover his form and kick his ash for some money. He is not the sh*t we need.

Sorry, but that's a pathetic idea. You make the statement that Inzaghi & Gilardino doesn't work as a partnership (something we all can see) but then you blame Gilardino for it! How does that work? A partnership involves 2 people, not one!

if you want to blame either of them, you could blame inzaghi for being so blooming selfish with the ball, at least Gila trys to set people up. I feel sorry for Gila because everythings been dumped on him, he hasnt got a decent support striker to play with.

Well I'm certain that I did not want Milan to lose this game, but we did. So get over it people! Once in a while however, a loss much like this one against Palermo really tells me a lot about some of you fans. That is... a loss like this shows me the fools that some of you really are. I think of all these posts here I found only Zlat's to my liking. Let me just summate the thread here for you all, followed by a personal comment by me.
1. We lost and we want somebody's head for it. Kui: Call this a blood atonement on the so called fans part.
2. Our Scudetto chances are over. Kui: I've heard this one before! Debs might as well shut the site down and save some money if this is the crud I that is going to be in the forum til May.
3. We really needed Sheva. Kui: I thought the lot of you said he was over the hill? OH WAIT! Lets blame his wife.
4. Bonera sucks. Kui: Why all the threads titled "Lets get Bonera"?
5. Gila cant score for us. Kui: The lot of you wanted him. What? Now you all dont want him? I thought he was our future? Oh you guys meant like now! Go figure? :dconf: Future=NOW :dconf:
6. Our lineup should be player x here and player x there. Kui: Tomorrow you all will tell me Carlo needs to rotate the squad more.
7. :gun: Lets put a gun to their heads. :5milan: Kui: Oh yeah that would help our team a lot if the trigger is pulled. Seems like the misery is coming from the fans. Maybe the "gun" should be pointed somewhere else.
8. We're going to lose against INTER next week. Kui: That may be the case. I think we're going to win. NO! WE WILL WIN against INTER! You all can sneak in the backdoor and steal Milan's glory at the victory party and say... :d6: Normally people who predict the downfall of others dont get invited.
9. We have been so predictable. Kui: What are you all then predicting? Never mind! I already know.
10. We need to change and like now! The staff, the top management... the whole lot! Kui: Oh yeah! Let me take it from an expert logged on to MilanMania to know what's good for the club.
11. I dont want a Gila/Pippo pair again. Kui: Perhaps Fiori instead as someone suggested. Would you be happy if we had Galliani score for us? Yeah lets put him in. In fact lets put Carlo in as a striker being that he supposedly sucks as a manager. Lets not have a manager as the season is done according to some of you.
12. We're in a crisis, hard place, suck, 14th place. Kui: Let me suggest bigger words like quagmire, quandry, dilema, plight, between Scylla and Charybdis, Gordian knot, tribulation, for those who think so.

Sigh... someone broke a nail and you all are running out of a building as if its going to collapse! While you all have ran out, those that do count, the club exec, trainers, coach, and players are in there trying there best to keep it from falling. I guess that is the measure of the word "FAN". First to run away, b!tch, and moan when the going gets tough. AND first in line for meal when others worked so hard to provide the bounty. Congratulations! Very constructive thread people. Stolen Honor, Stolen Glory.

10. Don't you think we need a change? Talk of sacking the manager or getting rid of berlusconi is ludicrous. During the summer though i admit i was keen to give Galliani and Braida the boot for a poor transfer campaign, but i digress. We've had insignificant changes to the squad for far too long, players that come in and don't really offer anything to our team. Yet now when we have a few injuries and losses of form, we can see that these secondary players offer nothing to us at all. We may only be MM experts, but it doesn't take a genius to see that we don't have the right players in our squad right now.

So people calling for change (at the appropriate levels) shouldn't be condemmed for speaking their minds.

11. Again, we may only be MM experts, but most of us can see that playing two similar players (especially one who is struggling with form) is not good for the club. We spent £12 million on a player and we stick him on the bench. Why? What's the point of having him if you don't play him, especially as he (Oliveira) would be a better foil for either Inzaghi or Gilardino, than either of those would be for the other. We also have Boriello, why not give him a shot too? We have some Primavera strikers/attackers, why not give them a try out? When things aren't going well, you have to look to alternative methods, if you persist with a partnership that doesn't work it suggests either the manager is dumb (which he isn't) or that he doesn't have faith in the other options he has at his disposal.

For the most part, i agree with your other comments and indeed some of them made me chuckle.

It is not the end of the world but Milan sucked against Palermo. Nesta made a horrible mistake and Palermo defended superbly.

Of course, Wednesday I will watch the game as if Sunday was a bad dream. Do I believe things should change? Well I think our strikers need to start scoring. I don't think it is a matter of buying player A and getting rid of employee B.
