Hm Jim, not masked by outstanding ones, but masked with result. We played bad alot of games, but when we pushed for 30 minutes we got a goal. And even with static slow play we did enough to defend the lead and maybe score on counter.

But now we dont score when we push, we get the goal when we take some break and when we are pushing for equalizer we get too tired to create good chances.

Ok, enough spamming from me for today. Forza milan!

main thing that worries me is the fact they cant score, if we dont score in the first half, there not going to... really is scary and embarrassing.. Sad to say, but i think even lazio have a better squad than we do. It takes alot for me to say that...

we cant seem to open teams up.. In italy its even more difficult because we are now the most predictable team..

Sorry...I wanted to ask...why EVEN Lazio? What is so bad about Lazio? (just curious)

and why is Carlo's fault if our players don't run, if our strikers can't score chances that my grandmother would i really don't understand why you think so, he can't do more with these players maybe if we didn't had so many injured players we wouldn't have been in these crisis the only mistake is because he is not using the youth players

And why do you think Milan plays poor? If the same players before managed to play brilliant, why now they cant do that? Maybe because the coach doesnt do his job right, maybe the tactics is wrong, maybe because we are so predictabale now..I think it is mostly coaches fault..I might be wrong though. But I think that a new coach can make the same players play differently.

Lol, here in Belgium, Anderlecht is quite upset about this Milan-loss. If Milan had won, Anderlecht had good chances of proceeding to the 1/8th finals, now they even will have difficulties to go to Uefacup.
I see Milan losing in the last game also, they are already qualified as group leader.

What do you mean the same players?? Two yrs ago the main strikers were Shevchenko, Crespo, Tommason. Now the strikers are Gilardino, Oliveira and an old Inzaghi. Well Sheva wanted to leave but they could have easily paid Chelsea the 8/10 mil to keep Crespo. Vogel was a good sub for Pirlo. They frekin sold him too.

Before in the defence there was Stam. Now theres Bonera in his place. Dida's sub used to be Abbiati. Now his sub his Kalac and Dida is older. No proper replacement for Rui Costa. Kaka has to frekin play every game.

Fukin Berlusconi. With the transfer campaign they did, it was obvious it would be difficult to do anything special. Not even frekin Inter has ever done so crap.

Barca was the top team last year. Still they went and got Zambrotta, Thuram and Gudjonsen.

By the way, Crespo is still so much better than Gilardino. And Inter got him for free.

Now if they buy Huntelaar, Daniel Alves, Torres, Diego, Barzagli, Vicente then something good could happen.

Milan SHOULD lose the final game of the group stage. I hope Ancelotti fields a side of squad and primavera players. We need to focus on the league now, and this is an excellent opportunity to give the first team players some rest.

That is not the Milan I grew up with, we used to trash teams for fun, we used to trash Barcelona 4-0 in the CL final, sometimes I think we're caught up in a nightmare and when i wake up I'll open the paper and see us at first place in the standings, with Inter 20 points behind... the way it should be. Dissapointment is not a strong enough word, I feel pain right now, physical pain in my stomach.

I mean, first of all, not 2 years ago time...but simply one year ago. Then, I actually meant those same players that are still in Milan, such as Dida, Cafu, Nesta, Maldini, Pirlo, Seedorf, Kaka etc....

If you remember, like 4 / 5 years ago when Milan won the champion League, Milan lost both games in the group stage after winning the first 4 games (i.e., 12 points).

Bayern was pissed with it; because Milan won Bayern twice, having 12 points, and then lost to Deportivo and another freakout team. So I expect Milan to lose the last one as well, with most of the players (kaka, Pirlo, Seedorf etc) resting.

yea, thats exactly why we lost todai. I cud tell the players out there were jus having fun and wanting to lose. plz, dun compare this team to that one. that team had luck and was on the incline, the beginning of the wonder boys. This team has no luck, no plan, and is pretty much the end of the "wonder boys". I hope we see a revolution this year, and also a new coach. ancelotti wuz fine, we won trophies. now let go, and form a new team. you can tell how well things are going by the fact that our startin cbs are costacurta and maldini. the sad part is that even our most loyal players are quitting; cafu wants out as soon as january, maldini wants to quit at the end of the season, sheva alredy left, and kaka has a big decision to make concerning real madrid. Yup, looks like a team of winners to me.

yup, that doesn't sound like a team of winners, but you has depicted the situation worse than it is.

Maldini can quit anymore; he is supposed to retire since 33.
Sheva? you still talk about him? :)
Cafu: his family, and I trust him on that, not like someone (huh?).
Kaka`: IF kaka` leaves Real because Milan is in trouble, then he is not that great of a champion. Champion prevails only in the midst of hardship.

This is the perfect time to test who is loyal and who is not to Milan. This is the crucible.

the situation is bad, compare each of our players performance these last two years to that of 2003, 2004 2005. they are all playing worse except for kaka. you are right, if kaka moves to real, this will say a lot about him and this means he wont be the great guy we thought he was/is. however, think of the blow that wud give to milan? he is clearly our future, if we lose him then we have lil to build around. also, if we were winning and the morale was good, do u think cafu and maldini wud look for a way out? i remember at the beggining of the season both players saying they cud go on for 2 more years. im not blaming them, simply using them to describe milan's situation. i am also tired of talking about sheva but look at the huge hole in our offence. and frankly i am sick and tired of having patience with gila. we all noe he has potential and that he is a good striker, but wen one has a chance, they have to run with it n impress. gila has only dissappointed us and our high expectations despite his 19 goals racked up last yr. the time for a change is nearing, it will all start by replacing carlo with rijkard.

Nesta, Favalli, Kaladze were already injured. Cafu was also out due to a minor injury, while Simic injured himself right before the game. Janku had and is still having a minor injury but had to play because Billy got injured during the game.

I agree with the above.
If he leaves, something I don't believe will happen, at least not in the next 4 years, we would be losing a great player but not a great champion.
Now is indeed the time to see who's loyal to Milan and who's in it for some cash and personal glory ... one more reason why I would have given the Golden Ball to Buffon.

Brocci is!

In spite of being in a ditch he released these statements.

Brocchi hits out at Inter

Milan midfielder Cristian Brocchi has revealed that his Inter stint was a nightmare. “It was the worst year of my career,” he declared.

The 30-year-old played for the Nerazzurri in 2000-01 before joining city rivals Milan, but he hardly has pleasant memories of his time with the Via Durini outfit.

"At Inter I spent the worst year of my career. I got injured and then, when I recovered, I was sold,” said Brocchi in an interview to the Italian weekly magazine Chi.

“The rush of always wanting to change is the defect of those who have too much money,” he added.

“By acting this way, Inter never managed to build a solid base of players who could represent a reference for the others.”

Brocchi, who spent last season on loan at Fiorentina, also denied reports that there is increasing tension within the Rossoneri camp.

“The squad is very united, there’s great humbleness and respect amongst us. You can be sure that here you will never see dramas like those that took place at Inter,” he continued.

“Considering that after the Calciopoli scandal Juventus were relegated to Serie B and strong opponents like Milan, Lazio and Fiorentina were penalised, if Inter don’t win this year, then they will never win.

“They even took advantage of Juve’s difficult moment to purchase Patrick Vieira and Zlatan Ibrahimovic who otherwise would never have been bought so easily,” concluded Brocchi.

Sacking Carlo is not the issue here...its the lack of quality in several key positions: Goalkeeper: Dida makes too many mistakes, despite all the good saves he makes
Defense: Too old, needs to be refreshed
Midfield: Not enough attacking options
Strikers/Forwards: Not enough muscle, nor enough finesse, nor enough pace.

We need to rebuild. No time like January to start the process...if Galliani et al continue with this: We dont need new players crap...I think I will throw up.

Gourcuff, Pirlo, Seedorf; Kakà
Are you sure ?

zlatanov
22-11-2006, 09:05
well, the last three, due to injuries to other players, have been playing way too regularly and are so tired that once a game is beyond the 60-70th min, they are barely walking on the field ... not to mention that Kaka and Pirlo didn't get much of a rest in the summer.
As for Gorky, he was injured for a good 4 weeks or so plus he is too young and inexperineced to see him as a viable alternative just now after 2 months in Italy.

Tas
22-11-2006, 09:17
Btw, Warro, Carlo might just be trying to play "your" 4-2-1-1-2 thing with Brocci(Gattuso) and Seedorf as the two Def midfileders, he just calls it 4-3-1-2.

it's not quite set up the way you set it up b/c in his 4-3-1-2 pirlo drops down a lot (where you'd have Brocci and Seedorf drop down more). this "new" 4-3-1-2 might be just what the coach called "new midfield ideas" during the summer. (let it be noted i think that in the defensive part of the setup your and carlo's ideas differ - example: i think carlo's "d" is based on stoping counter attacks and your would be on a "pressure d")

in the 4-2-1-1-2..one could give gattuso permission to run forward witht the ball when there are no other options (like he did for italy in the wc). that way he and pirlo could be the power of milan like they were the power of italy.

Tas
22-11-2006, 09:21
I agree zlatanov, 100%. the thing i'm wondering about is do we even have backup midfielders at milan, because i would consider all of our mF to be "rotational" (any one of them is, more-or less, equal to the others). this leaves me thinking that we dont have any backups.

The early start to our season is really coming back to haunt us now with the amount of injuries we are having..and thanks for pointing that out for me Tas..looks like Carlo got the voice mail I left him yesterday. :D

there :)

Before I start let me just say beforehand I am greek and an AEK fan. Please dont start shouting, I come in peace. :kap: I didnt log in here to brag or rub anything in your face. I was just curious as to what Milan's fans would say about the game. However I read a couple of posts that really made me upset and though I can understand why people would say stuff like "AEK sucks, how could we loose?", I felt compelled to answer to one of those.

In particular:

I cant believe we lost from from AEK!!!!!!!!!
I remember milan as the best teams on the world!
And when i compared milan with greek teams i always laugh or
say bad things to my friends for them and to not support them because there is no reason to be a Olympiakos,or AEK fan!
But now what?????

Of course there is a reason for being AEK or Olympiakos or Panathinaikos or A.O. Kerkyra (heard of it? Doubt it, but I am from Corfu and that's the town's team and I support it despite the fact she just got to Greek Premier League). The reason is simple: it's a team we love. We dont love her (AEK is a female in greek language) because she's the Queen of Europe or of the world or I dont know what. We love her cause she's our team. We stick to her when she wins and we stick to her when she looses. That's what being a fan means. If you read some of your fellow Milan fans posts you'll see they agree with me. Winning our loosing, the team needs your support.

And as a sidenote, because you said a lot about AEK sucking and being for laughs, AEK, despite having probably the one tenth of Milan's or any other big team's funds and players, has had a lot of successes in Europe. Turned a 2-0 match in Bernabeu to 2-2. She has left the Champions league undefeated because of bad luck with the score. There is a reason why Europe knows that team as it does Olympiakos or Panathinaikos. And she has prooven yesterday that she deserves at least some of your respect. So please, just like the whole stadium rose up and applaused for Dida when he got out of the game injured, do the same for the team who won fair and square. You say Milan was unlucky? Sure. Or AEK was lucky. Or Sorrentino is a hell of a goal-keeper and we played some good defence.

As for those who "blame" Dida for the goal, I'll say two things:

1. If it werent for Dida you would have received a second one when Cesar made that excellent move after Tziortziopoulos' fine long pass. I doubt a lot of goalkeepers could have made that save.

2. The way he moved and the way the foul was shot was not coincidental. Milan players study videos of their opposing team and players before every match. Cesar knew this and he knew that Dida would be expecting him to shoot to the other corner, as he almost always does. He took the shot trying to trick him (challenging his luck a bit...) and scored.

That's it from AEK's side. I wish Milan good luck in the second phase and I hope we'll join you there :)

Please do bear in mind that I doubt many people will greatly disrespect AEK, but rather the disrespect comes from our currently very bitter situation. It's nothing against AEK though :)

As our Mod, ACMILAN1983 has already stated the disrespect shown by certain member might be purely unintended and if not they do not echo the opinions or thoughts of other milanmania members or milan supporters what so ever. So if u can kindly disregard any such posts or comments that might be offensive in your viewpoint. Congrats on AEK's victory and I'm sure they will be making it through to the next phase. Ciao.

im not talking about this game persay, but the whole season in general. True, inzaghi has been dissappointing, but do u remmeber how he carried us at the beginning of the season? inzaghi has done his job as far as i am concerned, he came back from that huge injury n started scoring again last year, right now he is going through a rough patch. oliveira shows promise, but no luck. we cannot blame him for spending such a ridiculous amount on him. i think that once he adapts, he will be a lethal 3rd striker. the problem i have with gila is that he has hit rock bottom, reli reli dissappointed us. do u remmeber how long it took us to attain him? do u remmeber the amount of goals we expected from him? last yr he did fine, surely did not have the firepower we were expecting but did fine for his first season with us. look at him this year. this is the best situation for him to be in, the strikers are **** and expectations are low, n sheva is gone. he shud have been able to take the lead by now and show us his true worth, considering that he is our star striker, and has the support of kaka. if he does not prove his worth this year, we shud ship him+cash+ money owed to atletico for torres.

and I"m very angry with Inzaghi because he WAS the one who got ALL THE CHANCES today... it's not like difficult chances that Gila or Oli have to do.... bera that in mind

Unfortunately yes; because you can't buy any players at this stage... in Jan we'll see. BUT NOW... goal is the key.

Completely agree with you there Jeff, im really disapointed with him after last night! one slight positive from last night was that Bonera proved he was much more comfortable playing CB than he is Left or Right back!

Yes quite sure. Pirlo is off form, Seedorf is not the same player anymore and Gourcuff has only just arrived. There aren't enough viable options in midfield.

I thought he almost screwed it up again in the second half when he back passed to Dida weakly and AEK almost took adv. of that.

Look guys, it's not all doom and gloom. At this point, it's the overall results that count, nothing else. Our problems are pretty obvious and as I have sent numerous times before, stem from our transfer activity or lack there-of over the last two years.

I could care less if we lost to AEK by 5-0. The most important thing is that we have qualified top of the group. At this stage, that's what counts. Our performances have been quite good, but we lack the cutting edge and are lacking results. Now if reinforcements can be brought in in January and RO/Gila start firing, we could again march our way back to the UCL Final. As for the serie a, we just need to get three points and keep playing and put a good run of wins together and wait patiently for the inevitable Inter collapse :)

Bonera had a good game at CB? Are you kidding me? Everytime this guy plays for us he convinces me more how bad of a signing we made. Did you see how he just let the AEK guy go infront of him? TWICE? They nearly scored twice but thanks to Dida's heroics he saved Bonera from being barbecued.

GREAT news. :yuck:

Dida's out for at least a month with his bum knee. Get used to Kalac as our #1 for the next few games. ARGH!

Simic is also out of Saturday's match. Hell, with all the injuries wracking our club, we won't have anyone left to play in B next season.
