Milan’s season ticket boom
Thursday 28 June, 2007
With a mouth-watering campaign in prospect, Rossoneri fever has swept Milan and season ticket sales have rocketed.

The Diavoli have reported 21,344 early ticket sales – an increase of over 13,000 from this time last year.

The bumper ticket sales may be a result of winning the Champions League and the excitement generated by the club’s search for a high-profile striker.

If the Via Turati outfit are able to lure one of Samuel Eto’o, Andriy Shevchenko or Didier Drogba to the San Siro they can expect to sail past last season’s final total of 37,300 season tickets sold.

Serie A attendances have been in decline in recent years, but Milan still boasted an average gate of 47,000 last term – second only to Inter – in spite of the Calciopoli gloom.

It is estimated that Milan’s advanced sales will generate almost £5m for the club.

Don't get too happy about the progress as last year Calciopoli took our sales down. Nonetheless CL win will get us where we belong with the new Serie A season that everyone are waiting for.

Does anyone know why you can't buy Milan season tickets via website? I was always a bit frustrated with it, checked some other teams and you can do it via their websites.

Maybe the amount of online-tickets have been reached...don't know if it's the reason though.

milan have never done online seaosn tickets - the reason is that they are heavily involved with Banca Intesa and so theyare authroised outlets for Milan as well as Milanpoint and so i assume that a percentage gets given to Banc Intesa- plus they then handle all th epaperwork so it is a system that works- i agree on line woud be so much better but i odnt tihnk we will get that for a few years !!!

I don't believe they give out any "percentages" when it comes to season tickets, that is only needed if there is a shortage of tickets and we are not likely to sell out the stadium. I would believe it has something to do with security measures.

There is a little Banca Intesa in my town, and they always seem they can't be bothered to stamp tickets and make this service, compared to the much more important (in their opinion) financial and bank services. I for myself i'm always bored to see their faces every bit, but it's very close to my home, so i usually go there. Last year i found a good reason to go there with a smile: there was a Juve fan as assistant, and when i asked the ticket for Milan- Celtic, this man began his macumba versus our CL campaign, saying we had no chances. I told him : "you'll see me coming back a few times". After 2 weeks or so, i was still there, asking for the Milan- Bayern ticket (having the first choice as season ticket holder). This man this time said : "it's too difficult, you stand no chances".
Surprise, after 2 weeks i was still there for the Milan- Man Utd ticket. He said: "no way. this time you won't go through". I replied: "man, you are bringing us good luck, we will go to Athens". I haven't still met him after the final, but i'm sure the next year i want to see his face before every CL game.

if it was for security then how come Inter do it online ! same city same stadium - notice how Inte commercially are so much more active when it come sto website etc and so it makes sense that they would offer online facilities - whwreas Milan have always said that most of their revenue comes from the 70 plus sponsors- and banca intesa is a major one- i tihnk that for a small cut of the profits it means that milan fns can get ticket sin every part of milan with easy access andmilan dont have to do paperwork therefore in long run is more efficient although my experince of banca intesa is very different !!!! - although they have sorted out all of my seasn tickets for this seaosn and so despite the initial problems they have come through in the end !!

As you say(and have experienced but we'll keep that quiet!) Inter are far more fan friendly.there is no practical reason why Milan shouldnt be able to offer tickets on sale online.Perhaps Banca Intesa could do the processing and the information given could be used for marketing purposes which would allow them to gain from the transaction.
Of course Milan dont even reply to the e-mails sent to them so they obviously arent into this new fangled internet thing!

I agree with wils600 that the [ulr=www.inter.it]porn site[/url] is way ahead of ours in terms of connecting club to the fans.

Milan's £84m Ronaldinho bid Saturday 21 July, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are reports in the Italian media that Milan President Silvio Berlusconi is ready to pay Ronaldinho’s £84m buy-out clause.

The Rossoneri have made no secret of the fact he is their number one transfer target, but also confirmed publicly that Barcelona have no intention of selling him.

With this in mind, it seems that media mogul and former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi is willing to break the bank to get his hands on the holder of two FIFA World Player of the Year awards.

The buy-out clause on Ronaldinho’s contract is a staggering £84m, but having had a frugal transfer campaign so far and with the Champions League victory bringing in new funds, the sacrifice is not impossible.

The Brazilian arrived back in Spain for pre-season training today and spoke enthusiastically of Thierry Henry’s signing.

“I feel great and can’t wait to get back to work,” he said. “We have made some high class signings and the issue of how we will all co-exist is for the Coach to work out.”

Frank Rijkaard has hinted he will try to use Lionel Messi, Ronaldinho, Samuel Eto’o and Henry in the same line-up, but this could unbalance the side.

It is rumoured that Ronaldinho has privately already reached an agreement over contract terms with Milan, ranging from wages to benefits and sponsorship deals.

Barcelona President Joan Laporta would be willing to sell for a high figure, but getting Milan to pay the full buy-out clause would ‘protect’ him from angry fans.

“President Laporta told me he would have to leave the country if he sold Ronaldinho,” revealed Berlusconi recently.

maybe it is to stop bulk buying of them?
