Going to see the Ghost Hunters guys!

I won't belabor everyone with how this summer totally sucked for me and my roomie--her dad was in the hospital for 53 days, needing a hip replacement redone and all the related drama. Unfortunately, we were unable to take any trips at all....until this weekend. We are going to Lily Dale NY (google Lily Dale Assembly) for a lecture on 8/18 by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) or as some of you know them, the 2 head guys on Ghost Hunters. Very much looking forward to this, to meeting Jay and Grant and to meeting some of our myspace friends! I'll be back sometime on Sunday, so if anything untoward comes up, Rezag is the man to contact! Back at you soon!

Aww, thanks sweetie! :lu: I'm even more stoked b/c i just got a phone call from Jason's wife, Kris, whom we've definitely befriended and she is indeed along on the trip. there'd been an illness on her mom;'s side of the family and she hadn;t been sure if she could make it after all of our talking and planning. But YES she will be there! Wooohooo....oh yeah, I will say hi to Jay and Grant, but our bud Kris is going to be there.

I didn't think anyone would care to hear about it!

We've gotten to be friends with Jay's wife Kris, b/c of myspace, and had talked her into coming laong on the trip b/c we can't go to any other events during the school year. Ended up meeting her and Jay at 10PM Frinday night when they stopped by our motel to meet the promoter, Rich, who also happened to be staying there. Made plans to meet Kris at 7 the day of the lecture, for breakfast. She was running late when we called her that morning but it all worked out b/c Jay also joined us. After breakfast we went with them to the place in Lily Dale where they were staying. Jay was saying oh yeah, Lily Dale is a very cool and unusual place...but there's no frikkin TV!!! While we were all waiting for Grant to make his appearance--he's apparently not a monring person--we got to see Jay deal with a few fans and Kris pulled out the pix she said she'd get them to sign for some friends of ours. I guess it was about 10 minutes later when Grant came down, gave us hugs and signed the pix. He and Jay had to head over to meet up with Rich, but we 3 chicks took our time and then it ended up that we had to save seats for some of Jay's friends who were showing up. Well...950 people were expected, Lily Dale is this real small community with one gate....so the lecture ended up starting half an hour late to give people a chance to get in! And the lecture was what you'd expect from these guys--full of joking and banter, and they did show a few clips of evidence from investigations that were not on TV. Obviously they have a problem talking Joe Homeowner into letting them use video b/c of confidentiality, but they do go back and ask past cases as long as they give no details, just show things like....gates slamming shut on someone, black objects moving thru the frame, stuff like that. It was fun....we totally enjoyed ourselves!

Sounds like you had an awesome time and i'm really glad you both did, you both deserved it :hug:

Actually one of my former lecturers has joined a local paranormal group and he goes with them to different places filiming things and such. He's already experienced things he can't really explain. I bet you both would have a heap to talk about.
