Gazzetta released all the Serie A salaries, and there were quite a few surprises. Our wage bill is the highest. Here is what each of our players earn (net):
1) Kaka 6 million euros
2) Dida 4 million euros :groan:
3) Kaladze 4 million euros
4) Nesta 4 million euros
5) Gattuso 4 million euros
6) Seedorf 4 million euros
7) Pirlo 4 million euros
8) Inzaghi 4 million euros
9) Ronaldo 4 millon euros
10) Ambrosini 3.5 million euros
11) Janku 3 million euros
12) Maldini 2 million euros
13) Favalli 2 million euros
14) Bonera 2 million euros
15) Serginho 2 million euros
16) Oddo 2 million euros
17) Cafu 2 million euros
18) Pato 2 million euros
19) Simic 1.8 million euros
20) Brocchi 1.5 million euros
21) Kalac 1 million euros
22) Digao 1 million euros
23) Gourcuff 1 million euros
----
Kaladze is good but 4 million is way too much for him. Our total wage bill is 120 million euros, 10 more than Inter. Inter's highest paid players are Vieira, Adriano and Ibra, each taking home 5 million net.
There is not a single player at Lazio who earns a million!!
Buffon earns 5 million, and Del Piero 4.8.
So Kaka is the highest earner in Serie A. So his new contract must really push him to another level. I would say it will probably see him earn 7.5-8, bringing him to the level of Ronaldinho (who takes home approximately 8 million euros).
Hasan, would it be a problem for you to put Juve's, Inter's and Roma's players salaries ?

Does Maldini earns only 2m, how could this happen? He should be the highest earner in the team.
I know he is not the best at the moment but for nearly 20 years he was our best player and the best CB/LB in the world.

Totti is the highest earning Italian in Serie A.
Maldini is really a true leader! Being the best player in his position, he earns only as much as a Favalli. I dont know if this is because of his age but I remember when I played CM 2 and 3, Maldini didn't earned as much as other Milan stars and it's really easy to offer him a new contract without incrising his salary :D (I know it's only a game, but there were some informations that were similar to the real thing, like who was the most paid in Milan etc.)
Does Maldini earns only 2m, how could this happen? He should be the highest earner in the team.

I also thought so. About two years ago Paolo and Sheva were the highest paid Milan players

Yes, but considering Maldini is 39 and injury prone, his salary will be adjusted accordingly.

No online link? Mkay. Thanks for the ones you gave then:)

They weren't listed.
Milan will never cut off Maldini's salary, he asked for the cut off himself.
I think there is something wrong with the list (I mean the newspaper:D, not the copier, thank you:D). I can't believe Digao earns 1m a year (take a look at Chiellini:D). And as I read (also on Gazzetta), Pato only earns 800k in the first season and his salary gradually raises.
Count Digao's salary together with Kaka's 6 millions.
That's the only reason he gets a million. So, even though not officially, Milan is paying 7m net only for Kaka , who is giving 1m to his younger brother :)

Doesn't shock me, most of these players have had their contracts extended on a few occasions in the past and so naturally their salary gets higher.
I'm surprised Gourcuff earns so little, I would have assumed he'd earn the same as Brocchi at least.

Also cant beleive that Schuster is twice Hitzfeld in terms of money Real Madrid's managment are stupid.
This is a headline from Corriere : £27.5m for Kaka! Milan ready for incredible wage rise.
I can't read it for another two hours, so i was wondering what is this all about ?

rumour is Milan will renew his current contract till summer of 2012 and his salary will be 8 mil euros/year, so for 5 years on the new deal, he would earn 5x8=40 mil euros (or around 27.5 mil BP)
btw, I believe Milan (think it's on the official site too) came out with a statement on the very next day Gazzetta published those salaries and said that out of the 24/25 on that list only one was correct ... it also mentioned Digao, whose salary is "nowhere near 1 mil" (were the exact words, I think)
Quite interesting, some of the numbers make sense, some not (though strikers and goalies are more 'important') - how much would Pato be getting?
I wonder if there's a list for Premiership players ...
Kaka pens bumper contract
It is rumoured Milan have agreed to give Kaka a new contract worth £5.5m per season to stave off Real Madrid’s advances.
The Brazilian rejected an offer to almost triple his wages – currently at £3.7m – if he went to the Bernabeu this summer and will be rewarded for his loyalty.
The ‘Corriere dello Sport’ claims that a new agreement has been drawn up to give ‘Ricky’ £5.5m per season until 2011, although an extension to 2012 is on the cards.
“Kaka deserves a pay rise, so we will happily give that to him,” commented President Silvio Berlusconi after the European Super Cup victory.
“We have to be careful, though, as there has to be a balance within the club and locker room for all the players.”
Kaka has earned himself the right to be an exception after his exploits over the past 12 months for the Rossoneri.
Top scorer in the Champions League, UEFA’s Player of the Tournament and front-runner for the Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards, he is widely considered to be the greatest player in circulation right now.
He has had a splendid start to the new campaign as well, scoring five goals in six official games between Milan and Brazil.

That will in part depend on when Kaka signs the contract. If he signs right before the summer then I really think Calderon would reach new lows if he attempted a bid. Not because he would be wrong to do so, but because he would be wasting his time.
Either way, I don't think Kaka will go this summer or even the next if he signs a new deal. However, I think it may require another contract renewal to keep him beyond 2010.
Such is the mercato.
Also, I think if Milan offer Kaka his image rights he would earn close to 13 million euros or 14 million euros. That is what Real were offering him anyway (reportedly, though I find it hard to believe).
This 8 million euros salary would put Kaka in the Dinho earning bracket.

I dont think Calderon & Co know the difference between High and Lows and no matter when Kaka signs an extension, they will always be after him. Hasan do you know when kaka's current contract runs out? Is it 2009 or 2010 im not sure? Like you said hopefully though he can sign a big extension as I have this feeling he isn't the type to sign an extension without seriously considering staying the full period.
That is a lot of money and I know Kaka is probably the only player in the world who deserves this type of money, but dont you think it could destabilize the team a little bit? Majority of the players would only earn half/third of what Kaka's earning.

Kaka's current contract runs till 2011.
In Italy you can sign on for five years at a time, not more than that.
As for the destabilizing...I think players at Milan realize that Kaka is something special, and therefore is paid special money. Of course there is always a risk of that, but I don't think it will happen in this case.
You mean you *hope* it won't happen in this case. Just for an example IMO Nesta is just as important to this team as Kaka..and Kaka doesn't deserve to earn 2x Nesta which he would earn if Gazzetta is to be believed.. And how many more pay raises does Kaka need to keep him happy ?

But defenders are also paid less than forwards generally.
Attacking midfielders and strikers are paid much more on average. Is that not the case?
That seems the trend and it's sadly true. Same way attacking players on the whole win more of the awards than the defenders who play just as much as an important role on the field.
My main point though is how many more pay raises does Kaka need to keep him happy ? He's already(reportedly) the highest paid player in Italy. Is it really necessary to pay him double the salary of *any* other player on the team and if he is paid that much I don't see how it won't cause problems.
I have to agree with Mystic. I don't see why Kaka should be paid that much more money then Nesta, Gattuso and Pirlo. There is no reason of why Kaka should get double of what these 3 make.

Would that be in Italy only?
In EPL the players are paid based on their strenghts/skills as Gallas, Cambell etc are on atleast 100 K and Terry is on about 130 K.

Coz he is younger than the rest of them. Much younger...
I know but...double their salaries is a little extreme..no?

I don't think Kaka should make more than Nesta, but Kaka is our symbol, according to Berlusconi. So he is paid accordingly I guess.
