England Lucky, Russia could have taken them in the second half but were let down by poor finishing

England were lucky with the disallowed goal that should have made it 1-1, but that was it. We were the better team and deserved to win. Russia were lucky Owen slipped when he could have made it 3-0, not to mention the other chances England missed in the first half.

Anyway, what's clear is that we're now the best team in the world and will win Euro 2008 easily :guw:

a bit harsh to say England were lucky when we could have had 5 by half time, Heskey missed 1 on 1, Owen fell over with an open goal and SWP had a totally free header 6 yards out that he put over under no pressure :eek:

The disallowed goal was harsh though to be fair to the ref i thought it was handball too from the first view, especially as the Russian pulled his arm back afterwards which is usually a sign of guilt. All game long Robinson had practically nothing to do again as my old coach used to say, if theres no mud on t' keepers gloves you know your doing something right ;)

I dont think anyone has shown better form over the past 2 years then Germany there my favorites for Euro 2008 :)

I watched both games, Ukr vs. Ita and Eng-Rus, on-line.

I saw repeats of the disallowed goal. I was positive there was a handball, wasnt there?

What about the front line up? With the likes of Sneijder, Robben, Babel, Huntleear, Van Persie, RVN, & Kuyt I dont think the Germans stand a chance.

Its hard to tell even after various viewings, from the side it looks a definate handball but from behind the goal it doesnt. After looking at it again it looks like upper arm onto chest and the player didnt really make a fuss so he obviously thought he had handballed it.
