At my school, we make mention of many holidays and days of observance for other faiths. I would be remiss to not mention Rosh Hashanah to our Jewish members! Many greeting and blessings! Shalom!

By the way, do you mind to tell us what do Jewish people celebrate in that holiday?

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, it marks the new year for people, animals and legal contracts.

Should also say Happy Millennium to any Ethiopians we have here, they are currently celebrating the year 2000.

Toda raba, Debs~!
The month of Elul is the final month in the Jewish year. This month is a particularly propitious time for prayer, self introspection, and repentance. It is a time of intense spiritual preparation for the coming year and the upcoming holiday of Rosh Hashanah. This year (2007/5767) the month of Elul begins on August 12, 2007 and lasts through September 12, 2007.

Rosh Hashanah is the first and second days of the first Jewish month called Tishrei. It marks the beginning of the Jewish new year. The celebration of this holiday is marked with solemnity, as it is the day on which the whole world is judged for the coming year. Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the world, as it was on this day that G-d created Man on the 6th day of creation. Every year, on this day, we proclaim G-d as our one and true King.

& I turned just this morning from after a week in a city/town called Uman in Ukraine, 3 hours drive from Kiev. hundred of thousands of Jews men go there every Rosh Hashana to a "man"(my private angel) who barried there called Rabi Nahman miBreslev.
its deep *respect*

& in this days one of my best friends is Ethiopian. Works in security, I call him WEAH ;) :de3:

Not like in Spanish and Portugese languages.
Kaka' - means the irregular stress. The regular one is 2nd sillable from the last one.
Uman' with the last "n' " means that"n" is soft.

Dude, how is your recovery, do you fell a progress? I hope u do.
