I read with interest this (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-6944567,00.html) article on theguardianīs website...

Nothing new here, but interestingly, the prosecuter wants the charges against Moratti to be dropped, while requesting that Galliani, and some other officials from Inter, to be charged.

Anyone with any more detailed info on this?

Well, from what I understand, this has to do with the "Plusvalenze" investigation. Basically Milan, Inter and a few other clubs are being investigated for inflating the values of youth players to increase the overall value of the club, and thereby being able to meet the financial requirements necessary for participating in the Serie A.

I doubt anything will happen though, cause player values fluctuate a lot, and it is difficult to determine the true value of a football player anyway - unless he is actually sold to another club. So it would be extremely difficult to actually prove that Milan, or any other club, has done anything wrong.

Yes, while I agree with you that it will be very difficult to prove, why then is the prosecutor asking for some people to be charged?

Well, let's just say that it's a huge conspiracy against Milan - it's my favorite explanation when things go against us ;)

Whatever the machinations and drama, I am getting tired of Italian football. It's just a scandal without end. Also, the whole "it's a conspiracy against Milan" is a tenuous position (I know you meant it in jest, but there are people who believe it). We have to understand that our management is not angelic.

If there are any points penalizations for these imbecilic events, I will be furious. Finally, when the championship was balanced and had its big names restored, we have this.

Idiotic and tiresome.

Notwithstanding this, I will be back watching it again tomorrow. The fetters of love...*sigh*
