After the roumors that Milan will hire Mourihno, there is a question....

i would prefer Lippi and Capello ahead of Mourinho. Although Ancelotti has made some bad choices and tactics, in this case the workman can really blame the tools he has.

Yeah there is little point changing management around if they will be given the same team to work with. I do think Mourinho would be an excellent manager for Milan if they wanted him but he would almost certainly want to change the style of the team to a 4-3-3 and the current players couldnt do that.

It is right to say that Ancelotti can be criticized, but sacking Ancelotti NOW will only make things worse.

Recent example: Chelsea (forget about the CL win against Valencia. You know what their problems are right now. It's more than playing football.)

If it's tactical error that leads to these stream of poor results, then he is at fault. And it may well be the case that it's his tactical error.

But, I don't think it can explain a large portion of our recent results. Other factors include:

1) Dida
2) Gilardino & Inzaghi
3) Defense

My opinion is that Ancelotti is the best, the board shoud make transfers, you heard about not signing Bouffon at summer?

Definetly the board. Ancelloti is just trying to work with what he has right now.

Ancelotti has earned my respect as a coach becaue he has done so much with such a limited arsenal in his disposal. The thing is that even though he is a great coach, this team needs to have a fresh start and a new coach is a necessity for that. Look at Bayern Munich, Hitzfeld is their perfect coach, but after all those years he still had to leave so the team can get a fresh start. His replacement wasn't nearly as good as he is, but they still won a lot of trophies. A fresh change is necessary for this team right now and Mourinho replacing Ancelotti is a great start.

Agreed. Last year UCL trophy proves just how good Carletto is. He had to prepare what incomplete team he had for UCL qualification, stormed by injuries for months, adapted the scheme because of the shortage of decent strikers, yet he helped us win the UCL again.

Fresh start can be gained from several things, not only from changing the head coach. Otherwise MU will be desperately looking for SAF's successor for years. Instead he brought many players --some succeeded others didn't, but that's the risk--, changed the formation, etc. One thing that doesn't change is his desire to win more and more. I believe Carletto has the same desire too, b/c he once said how he admired SAF and wanted to be like him for Milan.

You mean Mourinho as Carletto's assistant?
LOL.. I'll take that

the only lack of Carletto is that he hasn't had the balls during the summer market to say to Galliani and Berlusca that the team wasn't as good as they thought: he was the only who knew very well the real situation. It's easy that don silvio didn't listen him because -it's sure- he didn't want to spend the necessary money to reinforce the team.
Anyway, everybody but mou-mou

what is really dangerous are all these Kakŕ interviews: is it all an orchestrated operation in order to land him in Spain next summer? I don't believe in the casual speeches, especially in these difficult moments

Ancelotti is not the problem. He's done a marvelous job over the years. No coach has done what Ancelotti has done over the last few years and that includes this year with the Super Cup win. No transfers are needed except for a replacement of that worthless and cheating Dida. Remeber guys, Pato will be playing in January and Ronaldo is coming back in a few weeks. Also, Kaka is going to play alone behind 2 strikers every match from now on instead of him being partnered with Seedorf behind 1 striker. Also, Bonera seems to be living up to his expectations and as the season progresses, he's only going to get better and more confident. Let's not forget Pippo who is due to score his first goal in Serie A anytime now. Once he's unleashed, he's just as good as Ibrahimovic and Trezeguet. So, let's not get ahead of ourselves with transfers and coach changes. We are still very good and all we need is 1 win to get our confidence back and get things rolling.

I do :notlist: Ancelotti wanted Toni and Ribery....at the start of the season he asked for certain players and even held a presss conference about it. But the money to buy such players doesn't come out of his pocket - it comes From Berlu and Berlu didn't support him so what is he to do :dontkn:

True, but I can't picture Carletto getting in the face of someone who regularly butted in and criticized his choice of formations and whatnot during the last days of the Sheva era. That would probably send him packing faster more than our ongoing slump.

I'm sure that Ancelotti really wanted Ribery to join us, it's a shame that the board didn't made what he wished.

ancelotti is a good coach, but he is too conservative and do not have courage to rely on young players. i dont mind him staying at milan only if we have no chance to sign lippi!

also i believe half of our squad needs to be removed and buy new players to replace them. they can be good players at other clubs but at milan they become dead woods.

the following players i believe should be retained from the current squad:
oddo,bonera,nesta,kaladze,jankulovski,gattuso,pirlo,ambrosini,gourcuff, emerson,seedorf,kaka,ronaldo,pato,inzaghi(15 players). :5ok:

the rest of the players(14 players) should leave! we need breathe of fresh air! :987:

Why not both, I mean yes the board has to make some transfers but also Carlo has his own mistakes such as relying on 30+ years old instead of letting player like Gourcof has his chance, and also that his very conservative when it comes to playing away against big teams like Barca, Real so on.

So to make my opinion clear to you I am a fan of bringing some fresh blood whether this fresh blood was a coash or some new transfers, however, I am against changing the coash in the middle of the season and also not a fan of Mourinho not because of his quality but becasue of his personality.

Ancelotti is a very good coach, but Milan needs some fresh blood. I think Mourinho is very talented and I would like to see him as Milan coach. You, guys, can say whatever about Mourinho, but you have to admit the fact that he is a very talented coach.

I think it's somewhat of a moot point. Mourinho is a good manager but he would never work under a person like Berlusconi. He has first hand experience of a club where the owner has the first and last say over what transfers occur, and general meddling of the higher-ups. He would leap out of the frying pan into an identical frying pan.

Now, as to Carlo. He's a decent manager but needs to put his foot down and get the right players in, and that just hasn't happened. Milan were not good last year, and had we not won the CL he would have been gone, simple as.

Anyway, changing a coach mid-season is a really, really dumb idea. But if Milan don't challenge for the league this year, then a change has to come at the end of the year. But it won't be Jose.

I would lean more on the latter, though I wouldn't say that Carlo is "the greatest coach" either... So I'd eventually say "neither"

It's funny that I have been hearing this same 'age' argument for the last 3 years. All I can say is the results speak for themselves. I truly wish that some of you on this forum would have been Inter or Manchester United fans instead of Milan fans and go years and years with nothing. We are getting spoiled people!! This old age is nothing but a myth. Our average age squad is right on par with all the big clubs. We have a few old guards and suddenly we're running a retirement home? First off, Ancelotti does break in the youngsters in his squad. Bonera has broken into the first squad, Pato will in January, and Kaka Gila are starters. Gourcuff would be a regular but it's his fault he isn't because the little he played this year, he held on to the ball way to long. That would definitely cost us in important games. Ancelotti has proven that he knows how to utilize this squad and has proven so with an overflowing trophy case. Also, Milan has "ALWAYS" gotten the right players. Anybody will tell you that this current Milan starting squad, that will soon include Maldini,Ronaldo and Pato, is one of the best assembled team of the last decade and the most succesful group in the last 5 years. And that's not an opinion, it's hard cold fact.

Mourhino is a great coach, but ancelotti is the current coach of milan. He is a great coach, world class coach, 1 of the better coaches in thew world, and if he wasnt a good coach how did he lead them to champions league sucess? No need for a new coach, a few good transfers, and this team is set.

"The market? It's our affair. President Berlusconi in 20 years has won 25 trophies and finished second 16 times, he doesn't have to justify himself to one. The market is our business, president Berlusconi does it with my help. The choices, Kaká, Oliveira, they are all our choices. Then you judge. Then it's up the censors to judge, but we don't owe anyone any justifications."

The above are Galliani's words...if you didn't think management cared about public opinion...you don't have to think it any more.

That's not something that should come as a surprise. Galliani is totally correct too, they don't have to justify their decisions to anyone as they have the success to back themselves up (that isn't to say they don't screw up, they're human after all). They listen to opinions of those in the club such as Ancelotti or Leonardo, but they will always make the final decisions. As for the public opinion, that shouldn't be bothered with anyway, as doing so would be begging for failure and bankruptcy

Milan needs transfers.MANY and GREAT transfers! We need three defenders two midfielders and one attacker! We have the oldest team in the world! If we want to have any future we need young and good players.Until now the board did nothing to that direction apart from bringing Pato!
