View Full Version : Deliriuns of a great president
Ok, the guy can say whatever he wants today, but he doesn't need to exagerate that much hahahahahaha:
"Credo che Ronaldo possa fare ancora 5 anni di grande livello."
("I guess Ronald can still perform for 5 years on the highest level")
HAUAUAHUAHUAUAHUAHUAHUAHUA... :uhm: :devf: :hammer: :dconf: :ilol: :ilol: :p146: :p146: :p146: :p146:
when he gets fit he cab perform for 5 matches, not more :)
What we were afraid of just happened with Galliani and Silvio, they said Milan will not go on mercato in january as our team is perfect.

eheh Silvio has always had big paths..but it's his biggest quality too..in 1987 he got a double relegated and depressed average Milan side and said: "we must get to the top of the world"...people was laughing at him when he said that. Nobody could believe and see.
You will forgive me a bit of rethorics in saying that this attitude reminds me of Alexander the Great: Plutarch, in Lives, says that Alexander was megalopsykon which in Greek means "who has big paths". Silvio has this quality too.

Very interesting point, dude. And regarding AC Milan's state of affairs at 1987, one can say that he really worked a stunning miracle.

If only Berlusconi still has the same passion and love for this team that he had back in 1987.

Here's more deliriuns for you:
ROME (AFP) - European and world club champions AC Milan will not be tempted into bringing in reinforcements during the winter transfer window, owner Silvio Berlusconi said on Sunday.

Having added the Club World Cup - thanks to their 4-2 victory over Boca Juniors - to their Champions League crown, Milan believe they have all the ingredients despite standing 22 points behind league leaders Inter.
"Our objective is to always be at the forefront in Italy, Europe and the world," Berlusconi told Mediaset TV station.
"The formula is simple: forget quickly when you achieve one goal and find another to occupy you, this way you always remain ambitious."
As for new signings, Berlusconi thinks that Milan have proved that they have enough resources.
"It's strange when you're celebrating the victory of a team which has just confirmed itself as the best in the world and on the day that it's sitting on top of the world, you're thinking about reinforcements," added the former prime minister of Italy.
"I think it is the team that did not succeed, Boca Juniors, that needs to think about strengthening their squad, that's not the case with Milan."
Following Milan legend Paolo Maldini's confirmation on Sunday that he would retire at the end of the season, Berlusconi took a moment to pay tribute to the Milan club captain.
"Some important players will leave us but not everyone is going. In the case of Maldini, who is staying (after he retires from playing), like (Alessandro) Costacurta, like (Franco) Baresi, like many others, he will continue to be a great captain for the Milan family. He will be a captain off the field."
Berlusconi believes Milan have a couple of gems waiting in the wings in Brazilian forward Pato and French midfielder Yohann Gourcuff.
"We have two young men in which we have a lot of faith: one is Gourcuff, who I have dared to describe as the new (Zinedine) Zidane, I really believe in his qualities.
"The other is Pato. I have not seen him play myself but I've seen videos. I was amazed, astounded.
"That same effect only happened to me once before with another video, that of (Marco) Van Basten's goals."
Van Basten was one of the stars of the Milan side from 1987-1995 when he hit 90 career goals.

He gets to talk about Pato and Gourcuff as if they goin to save Milan. Damn it, I wish we could send him Eric Cartman and his boys to straighten up uncle Silvio!

What makes you think he has less passion and love for Milan now? He digs from his pocket for many times to buy players. But passion alone, or money, doesn't necessarily bring trophies.
Look at Moratti, nobody doubts his love for Inter. Only in recent years did he learn from his mistakes and bought the kind of players his team really needed instead of spending lots of money to sign a star player

Why anyone can't see that Berlusconi has lost interest in running this team is a mystery I cannot solve. Berlusconi has dig into his own pockets to pay for players many times, in the past. He hasn't done that for quite sometime now even though his team desperately needs new players (don't argue with me on this one, because even Martians can see that Milan needs new players to be competitive).
You are absolutely right about the fact that having only passion or money doesn't bring you trophies. But guess what, having no passion or money definitely won't bring you any trophies. Look around Europe, list the top 10 teams in the European soccer and see the amount of money they all invest in every summer in transfers. Except for Arsenal, practically everyone of them spend over 30 million every summer. The fact that their high spending results in a higher winning percentage is not a coincidence. That is why the Italian league is being dominated by the high spending Inter instead of Lazio. Professional sports in general requires good personnel to make a team perform well, not having the right personnel will never win you championships.
As for Massimo Moratti, you have to look at his situation from a different perspective. Moratti indeed learned his lessons throughout the years, but the lesson is not about the reducing amount of money he invest into the team. Moratti realized that he needed to sign the right players instead of some random big name players to his team. So you see, nowadays, the Inter transfer strategy transformed from throwing a big check around to sign any major name player to aiming at the right player and then sign the right man at all cost. Even in recent years, with a clearly stronger team, Inter has never stopped on acquiring new talents for their team. Their spending is always higher than Milan's. When they find the right man, they never shy away from paying for him. Like last summer, everyone thought they would give up on Ibrahimovic after signing Crespo, but what did they do? They signed a huge check at a price Berlusconi was too cheap to pay for the best striker in Serie A and got their man. And how did it turn out? Ibrahimovic is now their franchise player. Then we look at Milan. According to reporters and agents, they are interested in like 50 players. Every summer, they have a huge media campaign about how they will sign HUGE names. They go on scouting and then start negotiating with the player and the club. But when it's time to take out their checkbook and pay the price, they chicken away every time. It happened to big name players like Ibrahimovic as well as future superstars such as Lucas Leiva. Milan management is cheapening out on the right player. And that is why we haven't had any real reinforcements for our team in years.
The title of this thread was just hilarious and so was Berlu's quote about Ronaldo. Let's hope he doesnt come out and say that this whole Milan team can function at the highest level for the next five years.
But you guys are right, he does think big and he does think far, and that is definitely why we have been so successul. The amount of trophies this man was won with us is certainly not a delirium!!
