i have a question about san siro stadium is it artificial or grass???

Hi Suli147, First of welcome to MilanMania, i live approximetely 10 minutes away from the San Siro, iam there every weekend to catch the games, and the grass there is not artificial, it is simply well maintained real grass.

welcome Suli, the pitch at the San Siro is grass, but there has been discussion in the past to change it to an artificial pitch (like at Milanello I believe) due to the poor quality of the pitch and constant need to re-lay parts of it. This poor pitch is due to the stadium design, which prevents sun getting onto the pitch.

AC,ILAN1983 is correct, Milan is very foggy as well, and has many mountains, so there is very limited sunlight especially in the winter and fall in Milan especially the city, but thjere are a lot of dedicated volunteers who go out to the San siro during the week and help keep it maintained, and if you guys Know Julio Cruz, you would know he did something quite similar, so we gotta give a big round of applause for those people, for being able to keep the pitch to real grass.

an important remark, and I'm surprised inter-1908 didn't mention this...

you will notice an important difference in the color of the grass between the inside and the outside of the sidelines... everything outside the white lines (playing field) is already artificial... meaning, let's say Oddo is running on the right flank, on top of the line, his right foot is already on artificial grass... same behind the goals...
