Hey guys, I haven't been on this forum for awhile. Well, this is the deal. I'll be visiting Milan this year from June 30th for about 1-2 weeks before I head on to London or some other part of Italy or Europe (not confirmed but London and Milan are a definite).
Just wanna ask those living in Milan what a Milan fan can do during the date I'm going (in terms of merchandise, cool pubs and nightspots etc). I'm sure there are stadium tours and stuff. I'm not sure if the team will actually be in Milan during that time though, as its preseason.
Any other info on what I can do in Milan and general tips for surviving in Milan (transport, accomodation, general culture etc) will be much appreciated as well :). Oh yeah, recommendations on visiting other parts of Italy that are near Milan are welcome as well.
P.S. I didn't know where to post this so sorry if its in the wrong forum :S

well iv never visited Milan but i know that Maldini's nightclub is called Hollywood
and the Duomo is a must see.
Visiting Italy well i can help the lakes are beautiful iv visited Garda and Como
Riva del Garda is studded with shops cafes and restaraunts for all budgets, i would well recommend it, my hotel was about a 20 minute walk away but it was worth it as we took a walk through the park alongside the lake.
Hope this helps a little :)

Thanks guys, I've done abit of research myself. It seems Maldini's club (supposedly the hottest in town) has got some bad reviews. Anyone knows the deal on that? What about good eats? Oh and Kaka1899 check ur PM.
This might be of some use to you Milan4eva. I took a 48 hour guide to Milan and put it into my BRNUK website a few years ago, here's the link (http://www.freestylecreations.com/milanclubuk/travel-b.html). It's in parts, so just use the links on the side of the page to see the next parts and there's a link under the map for a larger version. There are also links to other Milan guides and other useful sites, however, keep in mind this is a few years old so some things might be a bit different now.
Hope it helps.
If it werent for the club AC MILAN... I wouldnt go to Milan ever again. One of the most depressing places I've been to. Of all the Italian cities I've been to Milan was the least favorite. My advice is to go to Milan to watch the Rossoneri play, then leave town and come back to watch another home game.

Glad it was of some use, took me ages to write it out from the article i took it from :D Drawing the map was a pain too :tong:
I'm sure most of the info is still relevant, just might be the prices or opening times that are changed. Well that's what i hope, it's not my personal guide so i take no responsibility if you get there and find one of the restaurants is missing :guw:

I'm with Kui,I'd only come back to Milan because of AC Milan, the city itself doesn't attract me that much..
You might want to go for a day visit to Lake Como while you're in Milan. If you're a big star wars fan , u'd like to visit Villa Balbianello:D There's a train from Milan to Como, about 30 mins. The train station in Como and teh lake itself is just a walking distance. You can take a boat trip at the picturesque lake and stop at Lenno (where Villa Balbianello is ) and Bellagio, the view just take your breath away! ;)
Apart from my 1st visit to San Siro. :proud:, the trip to Como was one of my most memorable experience ever!
Night life in Milan, there's always Alcatraz :djn:

The city is nothing special. But it's full of activities that the visitor on a quick tour may not notice or know in his first visit. I prefer Roma any day though.

Is it true that Milano is not safe for backpackers? I've read somewhere that the backpackers were robbed when they were sleeping at the park

I think in most big cities around world
someone sleeping in a park more than likely
will experience crime.

Hmm that brings me to another point. Anyone got good recommendations for accomodation. I guess we're looking at mid-range prices for hotels. Not to shabby as I'm going with my fam. I went to Bangkok with my friends and the hotel we stayed at was shiat.
