Anyone read or hear of this article: http://www.goal.com/en-india/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=673105

Apparently Milan is nearly 24 million pounds in debt! Galliani then goes off and says that selling 'a single player' could relieve the club of this entire debt. Okay he may be joking but to say something like that is moronic. Why would you go off and try to unsettle our best player? I wonder if he works for Madrid.

Also, where the hell did all this debt come from?! We haven't purchased big money players in some time. We have been doing well in Champions league which brings in a lot of revenue as well. Where is the money going or more importantly, where is it no longer coming from? Anyone else forseeing a terrible summer spending campaign? Damm1t! If we don't make fourth now we are going to be seriously screwed. :5milan: :5milan: :5milan:

if we started a negative thread about everything we read on websites like that, we would all go nuts... realize it says HINTS... realize the real structure of AC Milan... shareholders? the club is privately owned, it doesn't trade in the open market, and Berlusconi owns it entirely... the only one who decides is him...

I dont know why everyone is making such a big deal out of this.. I think other clubs like Real, Barca, Inter, Roma, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool are in far far faaaar deeper debts than we are.

Galliani simply meant the easiest way to balance the books is to do such and he obviously was joking. We will continue spending wisely this summer and this debt will not stop anything. Clubs are usually in debts of 100m to 250m I believe, and I think Milan is in the best situation than all of them (maybe not Arsenal, and Roma have been improving)

He was just insinuating the shareholders for asking him to renew Dida's contract. Don't take it seriously

Yes, I also have read the article. But in the article I've read, Galliani directly said that selling Kaka would be a good move to pay the debts. And he also said "Selling Kaka to Real Madrid"

What the hell is he thinking about?

I have spoken to Kaka. He said he will be in Milan for life.

Milan is not interested at all in selling their biggest star. A star who by right gave the club a CL title by displaying the most perfect and beautful football the game saw that season.

Forget all worries. Erase them from your minds. Berlusconi is loaded enough to buy C. Ronaldo, Messi AND Drogba, if he wanted to.

Instead you are talking about Galliani's supposedly saying he will offload Kaka to clear debt. A debt that is not a big deal at all. It's a very small debt.

much ado about nothing this topic. The debt is nothing to worry about, and in fact, if I remember correctly our debts a decade ago were much, MUCH worse.

Compared to other clubs our stature, 24m is nothing, especially as I remember reading Inter had a loss of somewhere around 180m euros last season. Galliani's point is to press the shareholders (those beyond Berlu, possibly his kids) to invest more intelligently in Milan, as he claims it's because of them that have players like Dida, Serginho, Favalli, Emerson and Cafu earning similar amounts to our top stars (Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf etc).

The cause of these debts are from wages and taxes. We spend 20-30m euros per season on players we don't need, which is a list including Cafu, Serginho, Brocchi, Digao, Ba, Simic etc. Italian football is struggling to keep pace with other major leagues financially, and when you spend a fortune on players that aren't used, then it's pretty natural you're going to have a loss (I remember reading somewhere that guys like Brocchi and Emerson are earning 4m euros each). Berlu has already hinted at this policy changing over the coming seasons, as we intend to trim the size of the squad but with quality players (many of whom, like Flamini, would probably be overjoyed to earn the same as Emerson).

Finally, onto the comment on Kaka. Yes, saying that to deal with debts we would have to sell Kaka for £55m to Real is asking for trouble, but it's clear that we won't sell Kaka. Firstly, the club can continue to run as normal even with these debts, as Berlu is still the owner, and so will pump money into the club (and as I said, the debts aren't particularly impressive). Even if we were in a situation where we needed to sell players, Kaka isn't likely to be the first to go, as with players like Brocchi, Gourcuff, Emerson, Simic etc, we could fetch a fair amount. Simply mentioning Kaka's name will pressure the money wo/men to invest.

And the question is whoose fault is that we are paying HUGE wages to players like Emerson, Brocchi, Dida, Simic, Serginho, Cafu, Favalli, Ronaldo.

And the players that also dont paly becouse they are not good enough: Gilardino, Gourcuff.

that is TEN players spending money for nothing. REsize the squad with quality players and young players with smaller wages, players like : cigarini, Rosina, Marzoratti, and other young italian players.

Enough with "family atmosphere" and start working professionally Galliani. Scout faster and better and we will not have the problems we do have now.

i think Galiani just tried to be funny. it was a joke to teasing Real btw. nothing will coming from the man who just signed extended contract and the expired date is way far from now. so chil :D and Berlusconi will do anything to prevents the most lovely club losing its shinny star :)

I guess I just have trouble believing with our club being so quiet in the transfer market, we could possibly be in debt still. You would think with the trophies and player sales and the lack of purchasing we'd be profitable right? I guess salaries for our players are outrageous? I guess I'm scared we are losing the global appeal we had maybe around 2000 or so. I mean if we go along with a realistic summer transfer campaign we can expect to spend about 40-50 million pounds to sure up the team. Isn't a debt near 75 million pounds a little high??? I guess I may not be familiar with the numbers but it looks like the club is seriously losing money. Someone threw out Inters debt and I realize that is extremely excessive, but one big mistake compared to one small mistake still makes 2 mistakes no less.

What makes us who we are is our humanity and our caring for ouw own. If we operated the way you suggest we would be a combination of Barca-Real-Ajaz with only the worst qualities on display (kicking out best stars for money- Barca, kicking our our veterans prematurely-Real, scouting a bunch of good young players who will surely tire of us in 2-3 years- Ajax)

We don't need to sell Kaka, nor will we do so. Galliani was making a point.

seriousley guys do you think we would sell Kaka?

if we sell Brocchi,Emerson,Favalli,Dida,Kalac,Emerson all for 5 million each that will remove the debt prehaps Dida may go for more who knows
also if Gila goes for say 10 million we have wiped the debt out, i agree it was a bad tasted example from Galliani but we all know he never says the correct thing at the correct times :)

Man U, according to "theGuardian" made a 50M GBP loss this season, with other huge debts still hanging over their heads...do u think they will sell Christiano Ronaldo because of this?

Dont think so.

Neither are we in a position similar to Liverpool, who is having difficulty making their debt repayments, and may have to sell in the summer, if the rumors are to be believed.

The amount mentioned by Galliani is a trifle compared to Inter, Man U, Liverpool, and some other big clubs losses/debts.
