well as we are now preparing to begin life without il capitano :proud: we are going to need a new one and i thought it would be a good idea to talk about who can lead the ragazzi in the upcoming years.
i personally think Ambrosini should be our next captain he has been playing with us since 1995 so about 13 years we have already seen him captain games when san paolo has been injured nobody else in the squad has been with milan for this long.
And mods if there is a thread exists or if there is any flaw than you can move it or anything :respect:
Maldini will play one more season, although surely not all games, so Ambrosini has been our vice-captain since Costacurta and Sheva are gone...
currently it's:
1.- Maldini
2.- Ambrosini
3.- Gattuso
so if gattuso leaves, will that Make Kaka, or Pirlo in the 3rd place to wear the armband ? :P

thats a good point ace but than there is also nesta
Nesta is not on the list... there are several others before him... like Kaladze, Pirlo, Seedorf and several times Kaka' has said he would like to get the armband, and after 5 years of being a symbol, his day is getting closer...

Traditionally, captains are chosen in order of hierarchy of how long the player has been at Milan. However, sometimes exceptions to the rule are made, such as for Maldini, who was chosen captain ahead of Billy Costacurta. Ambrosini seems the most natural captain post Maldini, as he’s the longest serving player and has experience as captain. Rino was in line but I think it seems less and less likely these days whilst others like Pirlo and Kaladze are also possibilities. I think after Maldini, Ambro will take the armband permanently and either Pirlo or Kaka (I don’t think Kaladze really fits the mould of a captain) will be vice captain. I think Kaka will get the armband a couple of years later as Ambro isn’t exactly young (and by that point Kaka will probably be the longest serving first team player, with the possible exceptions of Pirlo and Nesta).
I say give it to Kaka. He's our symbol, our best player, a model on an off the pitch, a consistent performer, and has expressed a desire to be captain. If you ask me, I'd say give him both the "number 10" jersey and the captainship next term.

I opt not to give it to Kaka. A foreign player usually go away so easily.
I suggest :
1.Max
2.Rhino
3.Pirlo

Agree :5ok:
Talent is needed to raise the team up when down to goals and Ambro is not as good as Kaka.

Rino is not a foreign player and he's joining Bayern :)

I understood he said Kaka is the foreign player hence he shouldn't be the new captain and that's discrimination.

Pirlo has shown interest in being club captain eventually. Not a bad choice imo, a quiet leader, but a vital one indeed.

I thought maldini made to the first team in 1985, and whereas billy came in 1987 and for that reason Paolo was senior to Billy not age wise of course ,but by playing years. Nowadays teams sometimes vote on who should be the captain, and I think that is better because some players are not cut for captaincy.either way, my vote goes to ambro as I’m totally in love with the hard working midfielder. By the way, maldini will play for another year, so that is something to cheer about.

Pirlo as a captain, that would be funny, don't get me wrong, i love pirlo, but he seems sleep all the time.he is so cute though and an excellent playmaker.
Dont forget, when you look to make a player a captain, you should also look at how much he plays, how much he spends time injured ,etc...
and to me, Pirlo and Ambro are the most players that play in the team, alongside Kaka, Nesta, Kaladze and so on.

you have to take into consideration of their time in the youth level at Milan, where I think Billy joined first.

I never meant to. Kaka deserves it, but there are another candidates who deserve it more than Kaka does.
I think Milan wont bring the hierarchical system in terms of captaincy. This is then all fair and nobody will complain if the rule says, "who has stayed longest in the club will be the team captain".
Honestly, within the whole team, who doesn't qualify to be a captain?
1) Kaka (yes)
2) Inzaghi (probably for a smaller team)
3) Gattuso (yes)
4) Ambro (yes)
5) Seedorf (probably for a smaller team)
6) Pirlo (probably for a smaller team)
7) Nesta (yes; don't forget he is the Lazio captain!)
8) Maldini (of course!)
9) Cafu (captain of Brazil, used to be).
So, who doesn't quailfy?Everyone qualifies; everyone is a champion in a team (or most of them lol). All deserves the captain armband, but only one gets it.
Seniority seems to be the best way to sort things out. All fair.
J
you forgot Kaladze, he's captain of National team... no?
Ya Imissed that out, way too many players who can qualify as captains...
