do you want a dream-team, or based on who we have now ?
if the latter, " Peachtot " 's formation seems just right... maybe pippo instead of borriello.

Why do you always at the start of the season take Ambro out of the equation, why does he always need to prove himself over and over again, arguably he was our best player of the season, and I think we should acknowledge that.
Based on current form and the fact that flamini is more of Rinho type of player, my preferred midfield would be Fla/Rinho Pirlo Ambro.........however if Rinho regains his old form than his untouchable, I guess the Euro will tell

Based on current players I would go for.....
---------------Abbiati------------------
Bonera----Nesta----Maldini-----Zambro
------Rino/Flamini----Ambro------------
-----------------Pirlo------------------
-------------------------Kaka---------
-------------Pato---------------------
-----------------Borriello---------------
From that I hope we can rotate Maldini with another CB (My choice remains Zapata) and Borriello gets replaced with one of Adebayor, Gomez, Drogba, Eto'o or Berbatov (My pick remains Gomez). Abbiati isn't really my top pick for a keeper, but looks like he'll be our first choice come the new season.
Therefore, after a complete transfer market, I'd like to see a team like...
-------------------Abbiati-----------------------
Bonera-------Nesta------Maldini/Zapata--Zambro
-----------Rino/Fla------Ambro------------------
-------------------Pirlo-------------------------
--------------------------Kaka------------------
-------------Pato-------------------------------
-------------------Gomez-----------------------
With a bench along the lines of...
Dida/Kalac, Oddo, Maldini/Zapata, Kaladze, Janku, Favalli, Antonini?, Rino/Flamini, Emerson, Maggio/Abate, Seedorf, Borriello, Pippo.

Bcouse Ambrosini and Gattuso cannot play together in 5-3-1-2 sistem, as it takes too much from our game. Flamini is a different kind of a player, that can create more.
Gattuso will always play the same football, his performanc depends of a tzeam that is around him. If things are asked from his to do that he is incapable of ( like this season ) then he will not shine. But if Rino is used and paired with right players ( like it was with Cafu and could be with Zambro , and KAka', Seedorf, Sheva, Rui around him...) he shines in his way: tackling, and...running.
TZhe season is long, Ambro will play, but my first choice is rino in pair with Zambrotta and Flamini with Bonera, in this concept that I suggested of course.

the later partner's characteristic are too similar

Probably, you are right, however, I still believe than Rino and Flamini can make a superb partnership not just because I see this ;) but because my friend EL Fre say this as well so I have to agree :5ok:
For me the starters right now would be:
Abbiati, Zambrotta, Nesta, Flamini, Pirlo, Kaka, Pato, Boriello
The rest is dependant on who else we might purchase during the summer.

it means you guarantee Boriello place more than Max or Rhino in starting line up no matter who our new player in ?
or yoy just pessimist milan wont sign new striker for new season ?

The players i chose to start are based on who we have right now, i'm not a psychic, i can't predict which new striker we'll sign :googly:
Boriello scored more goals than any of our strikers, don't you think that justifies him a place in our starting line up?

in accordance with current players, i feel more confident that both max & rhino can compete to whoever new midfielder in than boriello with the one upfront who'll join us.
plus the huge need of striker for upcoming season, i think boriello chance to play as starter will be less than max or rhino's

That maybe so, but Boriello is here and therefore should start. If we had a match tomorrow who would you pick?
Quaresma should definitely start :guw:

i'll pick boriello over pippo, then more surely max & rhino ahead other midfielder ;)
I mean Jim, max&rhino place in midfield more secure than boriello's upfront if new player come in with their repestive position:5drunk:
p.s : oh i forgot... i'll rest max & rhino after donadoni fielded them for 90 minutes though they didn't play special and italian squad in need to chase goal deficit from netherland :D. in my prespective, 1 of max or rhino should be took off in 2nd half

with our current squad (and i hope we see a few more additions) I would go
----------abbiati-------------

----pato----pippo---------
(sigh... hope for another striker plus MF and D depth)

Abbiati
Bonera Nesta Kaladze/Maldini Zambrotta
Flamini Pirlo Rino/Ambro
Kaka
Pato Borriello
if we play 4-3-1-2, Flamini must play, Seedorf can't, and Ambro - Pirlo - Rino, we know how bad it looks, especially without Seedorf (or when he plays badly)

our lineup last year against arsenal was
----inzaghi--pato------

--------kalac----------
and we got WORKED.... so what is changing this season that makes us look like we can compete?

Well for one several of those players would be replaced. Gattuso would be replaced by Flamini, and Oddo would definitely be replaced. And of course the goalkeeper would be replaced by Abbiati. Not to mention, there was no Seedorf in that Milan vs Arsenal line up either... because of injury.
I dont know if Gattuso would be starter or not next season. He looks really exhausted. So is Pirlo but Pirlo still has no player who could replace him except fully fit Emerson.
My prediction in midifeld for next season : Max Pirlo Flamini
Something needs to be worked out in that midfield because Pirlo gets shut down way too easily and this cramps all our plans for the game. Flamini from what I've seen is a good passer and must play IMO. When you have a midfield of Pirlo, Ambro, Rino you can pretty much ignore Max and Rino cuz you know they're not threats. With both Flamini and Pirlo there you at least have to spread the attention between the two.

I even think if we can get a decent MC who can defend a bit (maybe like Pirlo) and has attacking skills, we can 'ignore' Ambro and Gattuso. :D
But seriously, I think we still need one attacking midfielder who can play behind strikers AND/or in MC position (regarding the need of fresh player in midfield area).

yeh. after gorky loanned out and seedorf which i believe will become less competitive next season, i think 1 attacking midfielder will be great addition for us.
By rank of needs i think 1st of all we need a main striker-the world class one. secondly we need another defender and i hope it will be a center back.
As for bonus 1 unhigh-price tag young attacking midfielder will be a win-win solution between club and fans here :D
i'll go for ibrahim afellay of PSV who fielded by San Marco late in 2nd half replacing kuyt in holland-italy game ;)

Yes, you are right, mate. We still need world class striker and 1 very good central defender. I just only talked about midfield are cause they seem really having no battery anymore :D
Afellay? I only watched some minutes of him on that match, looks pretty good but I am still not sure. Young AM would have tough time to get chance in Milan squad as young players in Milan had not so good experience with Carlo. I still opt for mature AM around 25-28. He shouldnt be world class player but must be decent one.

about afellay i have watched him for times in eredivisie matches which is broadcasted by local tv here. and my impression is good on this player either for his abilty or his style of play that will complete carlo's option for midfield section.
Plus, i think either his price or wage still in milan range :D in which around 5 years back become a main issue for our milan's talk
siregar, if you say so.. an AM which is 25-28 in age, not a must for world class but decent one, so the player gonna be who ?
name it... :)

My doubt is only about his age. Actually I prefer more young and fresh players if our coach is not Ancelotti.

Maybe our friend SAMI save the 11th place for whoever join us in the days to come ;)

We don't need the 11th player
we are too strong and we can play like this
and i think at Milan is recession time
so one wage less

Put Bonera over Kaladze and add Ambrossini there because based on FIFA rules football should be playing by 11 players on the field not 10. After that you'll get my deal. I'm hoping that we could cut the crap with playing 3 DM again :yuck:
We don't need the 11th player

if you look in any basic soccer manual they will tell you the player set up should be 4-3-3-1 (4 offense, 3 midfielders, 3 defenders, 1 goalie)
but i can't ever recall a team anywhere who actually has such a line-up
i'm not convinced the recent 2-1-3-4-1 milan line-up is the best either. it seems a bit confusing to me and i imagine on the field the players might not always have distinct ideas about where to play because their position often seems half and half...except the 4 defenders of course...their postitions are very specific
i wouldn't mind seeing the coach try a 3-3-3-1-1 line-up (3 offense, 3 midfielders, 3 defense, 1 sweeper, 1 goalie). i think it would give players like pato and kaka room to stay up closer to the other team's goalie to receive nice long passes from pirlo from the midfield instead of always trying to pass their way through the other team's defense and/or hoping for a breakaway dribble
not sure where i would put everyone...but maldini would definitely play the sweeper position...i've watched him "sweep" up the opposition after they've gotten through the other defenders so many times! :)

I've never seen it reported reverse like you have it. A 4-3-3 is 4 defenders, 3 mid, 3 offense - not the other way around.
Most books I've read use the 442 or 433 as the "simple" example. (again, the leftmost # is defenders)
Personally, I like Milan at 4-1-2-1-2 but it would help to have good wingbacks. (such as cafu and serginho) Oddo on the right did not do very well. Janku on the left was oft injured. Kaladze messed up a lot, even at CD, and Maldini just isn't fast enough for LB. Hoping Janku is healthier and Zambrotta can provide backup there if needed. I have faith in Bonera. IMHO, he improved last year.
