It looks like a permanent deal but undisclosed thus far.. This could be a gr8 bit of buisness as Sheva should integrate str8 into the team.

These are Galliani's words about this transfer. (Sorry cannot make the translation now because I have to go.)

okay it's time to hang his jersey back on my wall right next to kaka, boban and weah....

How much did he cost? Did he betray us? did he score? did he kiss chelsea badge?

I don't care.

Welcome home Sheva. http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/aug23o.html
I know he made a mistake but he is only human, I only hope he doesn't flop with us... That would even be more sour than to see him leave.
If he returns to half of what he was when he left he could be of massive value for us. Carlo can now deploy any tactical system he wants.
Let us hope that Nesta won't miss a single match...

Ps our mercato was over. NOT let's hope to get a wc CD and will truly be ready...

Wake up call, it's not like that happend over night...
Ba, Pancaro, Emerson, Favalli, Vieri, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Kalac, maybe even Oddo and Zambrotta could be added aswell.
I'dd prefer to have Sheva than to have nobody to be honest... If he accepts his new role that is. When he left us he was here the last time he was the Tsar but now he will have to make a coup before he can return to his previous status. But I'll doubt he'll make such a big impact again.

Welcome back Sheva. i was sad when he left but a mans family always comes first. So what he did was for the family it didnt work i welcome him with open arms.

Him kissing the Chelsea after the first goal to me was just a human reaction no thought put into it. To me a traitor would be someone like a Maldini going to play for inter or Zanetti coming to play for Milan, Totti to another top 3 team etc.

Honestly if we sign one good defender i will be soooooooooooooo pumped for this up coming year.. Abiatti will be just fine as our starter till Jan or till the end of this season... :3band::3band::3band:

What an embarrassment :eekani: You guys call yourselves Milanistas? I'm guessing that PRIDE was never a requirement to join your ranks :5dito: So much ofr us getting a GREAT STRIKER to excite the fans and give us a sense of hope for the FUTURE. Since it's the year of washed up has beens might I suggest Stam and Costacurta at CB and Bierhoff to the primevera? This transfer was disgracefully disrespectful to the passionate milanista. I think I take AC Milan too seriously when it's obviously a joke.

Milan have always been like a family and loyalty seems to be very highly valued by Berlusconi / Galliani - which is why we have Ba in our lineup, Leonardo, Tassoti etc in Milan's staff. I am sure even the ball boy once spit-shined Berlusconi's shoes 3 years ago, and I hear he will be offered a contract soon (jk).

However, to call Shevchenko a "has-been" is a bit unfair. He hasn't been given a chance with Mourinho and with a squad like Chelsea's already rich with established strikers, it was always going to difficult for him to break in. It would be like having Drogba come to Milan when Sheva - Inzaghi were in full flight. Drogba would have hardly found room at the club.

I look forward to seeing the Ronaldinho - Sheva chemistry - soccer fans worldwide should rejoice :)

I wake up, I check the news and first thing I see is MILAN OFFICIALLY SIGN SHEVA. I was shouting like crazy and i went and hugged my brother and every one in site, I was doing cartwheels, I WENT CRAZY.

I am so happy Sheva is back. Welcome home Sheva, I was never, NEVER convinced with Boriello. But what the hell are we gonna do when all these strikers are fit lol?? It's like taking a kid to the candy store! They have to play around the formation now with so many great players. I think the 4-2-3-1 might work, with Ka-pa-ro and Sheva/Pippo up front.

and again - I AM EXTREMELY happy. Fantastic news. As someone said earlier, we finally found our replacement for Shevchenko :)

However, it certainly has been a while since Milan has had an abundance of options. I fear that Kaka's injury and all these 100m offers might push them into doing something not any of us will like.

Milan has an oversized squad and they will have to shrink it before they submit the official team to UEFA. I am pretty sure the Uruguyans will be loaned out, along with Borriello and Paloschi.

However, best signing of the year = Flamini. Shevchenko and Ronaldinho? Excellent jersey salesmen ;)

Here's a question to Galliani - where are you going to find the $$ to buy a defender and pay his salary?

Second question: When are we going to invest in a quality man between the posts?

I am not against Sheva's coming but I am really surprised how the fans here are so happy! He is 32 years old (even I think he could play role like Inzaghi IF he puts his will in to his performance). We are not signing super striker! This really surprises me!

I was against the decision to sign Sheva back... but considering Borriello is out, Pato was playing in Olympics, Kaka is injured till God knows when, and Inzaghi is reaching the end of the career, now signing Sheva back makes sense. Regardless how bad he played in EPL, he should lose all of his skills. So, that makes him a bench role player. I do not see him to be the Sheva back in the day, but I can see him to be the person filling Pippo's position.

I don't know how much he will be making, but I think he should not cost that much, no way near what he was making in Chelsea. I think Milan might be able to afford to pay another defender's wages, but I sorta doubt if they are willing to make a purchase/loan in this case without having Berlusconi taking out his wallet.

As for Paloschi, I think he should stay in the first half of the season. This is a pre-cautious move because given that all the injured players take time to recover, i think having him around will give us more flexibility. As for the oversize squad issue, I think we have to offload either Brochi or Emerson. Flamini, Gattuso, Ambro, Brochi, and Emerson in the same squad - now we are talking what is ridiculous. They might have different level of skills and qualities, but they are playing similar position.

Now we can loan or sell half of Boriello, ih wait.... we did that already :) Boriello can forget about playing now between Pato, Sheva, Pippo and 3 world class AM's. Its good we payed only 9mln for that player :3band:

We have too mayn palyers, some must go on loan: Cardaccio, Viudez, Paloschi.

As far as Sheva ( the traitor ) goes, Curva will not let him slide, unless a miracle in Curva Sud happens. We'll see aguess. As far as Im concerned this in an embarassment for Milan and Milan fans!

Next year we will need to let go of 5,6,7 players again ( Favalli, Maldini, Brocchi, Emerson, Pippo, Oddo, Dida ) if we are to remain fast and competitive.

Well i was thinking here and about 2-3 years that for those players the every year was the last for them except from oddo. I don't trust our managment anymore, i think some of those players will be playing for us and next year.

Wait till he scores a couple of goals and curva will forgive him everything...

Almost all of us here, at least at one point, questioned boriello's qualities and having sheva in the squad will certainly help us.

Pato needs a real role model and a mentor and, lets face it, pippo isn't that kind of player and boriello isn't that good.

Sheva+Pato combo will provide enough experience and flair to score bunch of goals with the magical trident providing the chances.

Finally we have 4 quality attackers, paloschi and viudez can be loaned to learn and come back in a year or two when we lose pippo and sheva.

With this signing, we can officially forget about winning the scudetto next year. Both Ronaldinho and Shevchenko will be counted heavily early in the season to cover for the absence for Kaka and Borriello/Inzaghi. The problem is that both Dinho and Shevchenko will need at least half a season to get back to their form, provided that they can even bounce back to their old form at all. That means we are in for one hell of a crappy start of the season again.

I think Sacchi was right with his comments the other day. This team really has no plan. But I guess it's not their fault because when you only shop for bargains, you don't really know what to expect. You can't exactly plan on what to eat when you don't know what's going to be on sale in the supermarket, right?

I really don't know how to feel after these news. I can't forget the fact of what happened 2 years ago and I can't let that go. I simply didn't care at all about Sheva in the past 2 years and I could care less about what happened to his career or life. The fact is that he left us and he payed for his mistake. We, in my oppinion, shouldn't have done what we just did simply because we don't need him as a player right now. We have players in his position and in attack. So it seems like this transfer is made purely out of respect and good relationship between Sheva and Milan/Berlu. It seems like we are just helping him to get out of his nightmare.

In any case, he is our player now......or more acurately....will be our player on Monday. It is impossible to forget what he did with us and the success we shared just like it is impossible to forget how he left 2 years ago. This, however if you ask me, is purely a professional relationship and I will support him and wish him well because I love Milan. Maybe at some point I will even be glad that he is back with us and no, I am not going to deny that I wasn't happy when we resigned him. Hopefuly he will help us win the scudetto and we can share some good memories again. Is he an upgrade over Boriello, Paloschi, Pato, Inzaghi???? ....... at the moment it is impossible to say yes because of the fact that he's been in horrible condition and shape in the past couple of years. Only he can prove us wrong however, and our job as fans is to hope that it happens simply because it will bring the club succsess. All I can say right now for Milan's sake is, Welcome back Sheva.

I am not pissed and he is a part of the team now. I am treating this as any other signing. The only thing though that has been on my mind for a couple of hours now is how are we going to intergrate all these players into the team. It'll be interesting to see what happens in this last week of the transfer period and I really hope that we find a good defender to go for as well. Also, what's going to happen to Boriello? Very interesting. Silly season at its finest!!!:510:

The only thing that I will be really pissed at is if this in ANY POSSIBLE way badly affects Pato. The kid is brilliant and needs to play. Maybe not week in week out but he needs to play.

up to now, with Sheva back, it is verified Carlo Ancelotti has no word over the market.
His opinions, his solutions in order to cover the holes in the team haven't been never considered
and the grotesque is that he should know them very well .
Isn't it fantastic?

To loan or not to loan,
that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them? ...

hi everyone,
Sheva is back...thats a fact now.
Sheva loves Milan and thats a fact also and he really regrets his move to chelsea bcos it didnot work 4 him.
Inzaghi is 35 sheva is 32 by the way.
some of u has to remember that AC Milan could not find a replacement 4 Sheva in the last two years. and I believe that the attack department was our major problem in the last two season not the defense as many may think.

to win the scudetto, we need them all, pato inzaghi poriello and sheva.
Kaka and Shave are very close to each other and they are very very close friends.
if Sheva physically fit. then we got ourselves a world class attacker who is dieing to prove that he still loves milan.

we still need a CB though.

Sacchi is great but remember he is not the one paying the money.

the annoying thing is that Carletto is still angry at Sheva and if I have to choose between them I will go with Carletto bcos he has proved that he is commited to Milan despite all the criticism and ingratitude from many fans and the media.

the bottom line, I'm with Milan 100% no matter what and I'll have faith in the players, tha coach, and the management.

over the years, AC Milan won many trophies not anly bcos of technical excellence, but also bcos of the unity and loyalty we show is dark and unclear days. and we should not let anybody to take that from us to end up like like other mediocre teams.

Welcome home Sheva but we expect a lot from you.

Well, he's back. He left under some bad circumstances and that hurt, then when he scored his first goal he kissed Chelsea's badge, and that hurt even more. I felt betrayed.

Then the bottom fell out. No respect from the manager who didn't want him, no respect from his teammates who regarded him as the owner's lap dog, the inability to adapt to the English style of play, the injuries...

I felt bad for him. He deserved a better shake than he got.

Now he's back. And I bet you he's pissed off and ultra-motivated to get it done this season. And I have a feeling he will. And all you nay-sayers will be singing off a different sheet of music.

Jeff
23-08-2008, 21:35
Yes, I think it's right to expect a lot from Shevchekno. He comes to Milan not because he used to play for Milan but because he is good enough to fill a gap in our attack when most of our attakcers are (currently and in the future) injured.

Welcome home Sheva, family is supposed to forgive and I already have no bad feelings now. From day 1 he left I had that feelings that Berlu wants him back badly for some reasons. God know why Berlu and Roman have this man love in him

As a player, he comes back 1 year late,32 years old.. but oh well, with our injury situation now got him back is an insurance. But I hope Borriello wont leave again, he should try one more time first. And beside, if it is not Sheva, I highly doubt that we would spend money on other striker, especially a high price young ones.

Now back to find a new DC.:5drunk:

mihan
23-08-2008, 22:37
Seriously, do you dare to make the move if you were Sheva? Take a pay cut, not garanteed a start, most importantly facing boos and wistles of the fans who still hate him? I dare not.

Taking a step back is a true challenge of life.

Jeff
23-08-2008, 22:48
He will fill a gap simply because our bench is so injury-prone:

inzaghi - ...
Kaka` - I'm not optimistic about this year.
Ronaldinho: How important he is now that Kaka` is injured.
Pato - not mature enough, yet?
Borriello: Injured for at least another month.
Paloschi: You mean, serious?
Shevchenko: Fill in the gap just nicely, for now.

And if the next buy is not a DC, I'm going to be very upset.

He will fill a gap simply because our bench is so injury-prone:

Yes, I absolutely agree that he is brought to be used as bench player.

But how much have we paid for this bench striker? I just hope Milan didn't make crazy offer to Chelsea like the price a member on MM has mentioned (around 15 mil euros)

I think Sheva's deal is positive for Paloschi, as he'll now get to go out on loan and gain the experience he craves. Sheva is experienced and probably a better option coming off the bench than Palo, who is talented but still very much green.

The other question on many people's minds is about Borriello. Personally, if I was in his shoes I wouldn't consider leaving. Sheva may be a legend at Milan but right now he's way down the pecking order. He's got to prove he's capable of performing and dig himself out of the the hole he created a couple of years back. Borriello's other competition includes a 35 year old injury prone Inzaghi, a young supporting forward (not striker) in Viudez, and Pato, who is young and far more talented than Borri, but still not necessarily ready to be a regular starter in the team or to play on his own up front (personally he is my first choice though). Borri was the best performer overall last season out of all our striking options (Pato only played half a season), is 26 and should be coming into the prime of his career and on paper has the right attributes for the kind of player we generally need up front. Added to this the management (both Galliani and Carlo) have regularly complimented him this summer. If in Borri's shoes, I'd fancy my chances at getting a starting place in this squad.

Oh I don't mean that he is bought as bench. I think he will compete for a position at Milan. Remember that both R80 and (hoepfully Sheva) are hungry to show that they are NOT done. That's a huge factor.

I do not believe that Sheva is bought as a substitute. I think he is bought as a real striker.

I'm just worried that Borriello is going to turn out another Gilardino given the system Milan plays.

We have no good crosses, mostly, and we rely heavily on players who can dribble in front (e.g., sheva in the past; Kaka`, R80, Pato, R99 etc.)

Inzaghi is the only exception.

And are we ready to agree that Borriello can 'smell' like Inzaghi?

I personally don't have much faith in Borri. He's a squad player in my eyes not really the quality we need up front. However, I meant to speak from his perspective of things on his chances.

I can understand all the anxiety and mixed emotions people have with Sheva's return. Whatever it may be, either for or against, elated or berated with his return is besides the point already. As a player for this club again, we have no choice in the matter but to only support him as we should do with all our players, whether we like them or not or are still angry with them.
I believe in redemption. My personal spirituality makes me to do so. Has this hallowed club not redeemed itself so many times in the past, right in front of the doubting eyes of its own fans? Against the prejudgement of pundits here has this club not proven itself time and again? There is no doubt that the impossible becomes the possible. I believe with his return greatness however so impossible it may seem to some is very possible. AND if it doesnt manifest itself so, we FANS SUPPORT nevertheless!
There were times few years ago when many thought Pippo was done. Some of us thought he was no good when he first signed for us, amongst those, yours truly. Now that the learned past has manifested and gone by do we see the errors of our ways.
Yes! Sheva made a huge error in leaving this club. No one knows that better than he. Let us in good spirit and in good faith allow him the chance to regain this greatness and not allow the error of his to hold any more weight into the great possibilities he can do for this club we love.
Anything short of this will show that our errors as fans do much more damage to this club than the error Sheva made.

FORZA MILAN!

I was royally pissed off when Sheva left in 2006, calling him a Judas, a traitor and whatnot. Since then I have grown up a bit and come to realize that he probably did have very strong feelings for Milan, and that leaving was not an easy decision to make. I believe that he left for the sake of his wife and family, and any decent man would put his family first. His wife is American, and she wanted to live in an English speaking country. Is that really so strange?

We also know that Milan offered to match the wages Chelsea offered him, so it wasn´t about money or anything like that. He left because he thought it was the right thing to do. He had maybe 5-6 years left of his career as a football player, but his family will be with him for the rest of his life.

Now we know that things did not work out for them in London. He seemed unhappy since he first joined Chelsea, which I think is another indication that he did not actually want to leave Milan. His wife said in an interview today that she is happy when he is, and that this is the reason why they decided to come back to the city of Milan and the Rossoneri.

Probably they didn´t expect things to turn out like this. Nobody did. But I am happy that Sheva is back. We can´t expect our heroes to not be human, we can´t expect them to never make mistakes, and we should be flattered that Sheva came back to Milan. It says a lot about what a great club this is, and what kind of man Shevchenko is. By coming back he is admitting that leaving was a mistake, and it is surely not an easy thing to admit (some would even say it´s humiliating).

I think we should welcome Sheva back with open arms. I hope he gets a massive reception at the San Siro against Bologna next weekend, and I hope we can all be mature enough to forgive him for making the mistake of leaving us, when he is mature and humble enough to admit that it actually was a mistake.

And he will for sure return to his best at Milan. His problem at Chelsea was not that his skills had declined, it was that he didn´t actually want to play there. Forza Milan!

Why then Kaka is still here? Shouldnt he go "where's better" to Portugal or Brazil (Portugese speaking countries?) How come Zanetti is in Inter so long, they don't speak Spanish (language in Argentina if I'm right) in Italy?

That excuse is crap. If he went for his family, he wouldn't came back. He went because his love for Abramobitch was stronger than his "love" for Milan. And he got what he deserved. Go away traitor!

Why do Milan signed Sheva? Is it only because Milan loves him and he loves Milan?

Think, Galiani and our managment promised us one great attacker, one of Amauri,Drogba,Eto,Adebayor,Benzema and $heva(how they can involed him with the rest players?Great attacker?).
Why we finaly signed the worst of that list? Because we couldn't afford to pay the price from each club for their players.
All of Milan fans was dreaming that season one great attacker after hearing Galianis words and everyone was praying not for $heva because as you can understand the rest are far better from him and has more future than him.
And our club finaly signed the worst player, a 32 years old player. Thats a shame.
And then our managment and the players made comment's of Sheva always loved Milan so why he wanted to come back, or Milan always loved Sheva and wanted him back. It's like a love story!
But the truth is that we signed $heva because Berlusconi don't hear the chiken Carlo when he speaks of what he want for transfers. And because he doesn't wan't to spend big moneys and bring world class players.Berlu is not spending like in the past, our team needs seriusly good transfers and not crap players for 6 month.Look at Inter Man Utd Barcelona and Chelsea and imagine aour squad with their.Milan had not a good bench, if anyone from the starting 11 get injured then whoes gonna replace him equal?Favali or Maldini 40!?!?
Sheva's transfer was a bad choise but also a big lauh for everyone who learned that new.

I'm a little bit shocked that people are upset about Sheva coming back.

I really think a lot of you guys need to grow up and gain some perspective on things. Sheva left because he thought it was the best thing to do. Then he realized that leaving was a mistake, and now he is back. What did he do that was so wrong?

Sometimes people make mistakes. I have made huge mistakes in my life, hurting my family in the process. But even so, my family has always been there for me, and they have embraced me when I've come back to them. Shouldn't we do the same for Sheva, since we take such pride in Milan being a "family club?" He has, after all, admitted that he made a big mistake in leaving.

Are we really so immature and petty that we can't forgive him and embrace him like one of our own again?

Actually Kristen does speak Russian. However, she also speaks fluent English and maybe some of young fans will learn with time that a father cannot bear to hear his son chattering away in English with this mother and have to ask "honey...what is young Jordan saying?". Sure he could forbid her from teaching the kid English but that would be kinda mindless and not in the best interest of the kid.

Anyway...that's not the point of this thread is it? The point is that Sheva is now a Milan player whether we like it or not...so those of you who want to hate him for being a traitor can pi$$ off and support some other club for the next few years till Sheva retires :D LOL!!

Seriously guys...if you've ever cheered the likes of Javi Moreno, Jose Mari or Antonio Chamot...you can surely cheer on a guy you adored with a vengeance between 1999-2006. You don't have to worship him if you're pi$$ed, just don't berate him....he did a lot for us.

As for me...all is forgiven...I love you Sheva and will continue my worship right where we left off in 2006 (even if you don't score a single goal). Just seeing him in a Milan shirt again is enough to put my ghosts to rest.

He doesn't speak English also, so what's the point? His wife wears pants in their family? Even Berlu called him a sissy (or something like that) after he left.

Would you say he doesn't care for his family anymore because he came back to Italy?

Okay, so it's finally happened. I too was very angry when he left, but after seeing one of our own suffer the humiliation he did at Chelsea, I am very happy that he is now back home and will have a chance to reignite his career and prove again how lethal a striker he is.

That aside, are the technical considerations. And this is where I am against this transfer. We did not need a player like Sheva, we already have Pato and R80 who can play that role. We needed a first striker, someone like Drogba or Amauri. This is what I have been harping about. We should have bought the player we NEEDED, instead we buy a great player when the chance came up, and now have to make the player fit our system (R80 anyone?). My hope is now that we play Sheva as a mobile first striker and start him alongside Kaka/Dinho or Kaka/Pato.

We have a very competitive squad right now.
If we sign a quality DC, it will be almost perfect.
If we don't, never mind we'll do it next year.

FORZA MILAN

I think we're still far from perfect. This squad has an incredible number of questions surrounding it and there are still many improvements that need to be made.

In GK position, Dida and Kalac are worrying and Abbiati may be solid, but is hardly world class, and I must admit I'm still unconvinced he'll maintain his form all season.

The defence requires a lot of work still. A CB is an absoloute necessity to have a solid defence, as right now our options are Nesta, Maldini, Bonera, Kaladze and Darmian. Nesta is injured fairly often and is our only world class defender. Maldini can perform to a very high standard, but he can't do so with regularity, and thus must be given rest regularly. Bonera has the potential to be a great CB, but at this point is still prone to mistakes and even more can still get caught flat footed. Kaladze is another with potential of starting material, but injuries and some awful performances in the last couple of years make him a big doubt. Darmian is too young to be a starter. Quite frankly, none of our defenders fill me with great confidence outside of Nesta and Maldini. Considering the situation, a new CB is a must.

In LB, we have Zambro, Janku, Favalli and Antonini. Of those 4 only Zambro is good enough and plays with consistency to be a starter. Janku has good days, but is far too much a defensive liability which has hurt us a lot in the last couple of years. Favalli and Antonini are backups, nothing more.

RB is similar, we have Zambro, Oddo, Darmian and Bonera as our options. Zambro can't play both fullback roles so something has to give. Oddo has been atrocious over the last year and right now is unreliable. Darmian again is too young. Bonera can start, as he did superb in RB towards the end of last year, but it looks like we may look to use him CB this year (meaning we're going to be light in one of the roles unless a starter is bought).

In Midfield, Brocchi or Emerson has to go. We're generally ok in terms of depth, but it depends on guys like Gattuso regaining some form. However, Flamini and Cardacio are going to be vital as they add a dynamic we were lacking last year.

Attacking midfield is also in reasonable shape. With Cardacio adding another option here too and Kaka, we do have some strength. Seedorf and Ronaldinho however are big questions. Seedorf when he performs is world class, but it really seems to depend on his mood. Ronaldinho is a similar questionmark, as right now no one can be sure what to expect from him. Our squad is made to utilise our strength in the AM, but if these guys don't perform, then we're in trouble.

The attack is a similar mess to the defence. We have many players but how strong are we really in attack. Sheva is a MASSIVE questionmark, who we don't know what to expect from. Borri has done well for one season in his career. Paloschi is too young to play regularly. Pippo is constantly injured and Pato is a quality player, but there are questions over whether he can excel with regularity and play as our attacking focal point at this stage of his career.

For me, a lot of work will be required next summer to really make us strong.

totti_jonaid
25-08-2008, 04:44
I agree with AC Milan 1983 our squad clearly lacks depth. The basic problem for me is that for some reason our management believes in quantity of players not quality. Plus I thought we would play with five midfield players and one striker this season. But the arrival of sheva means we are back with four strikers meaning we will play with the same formation as in the last season. But the Million dollar question is which four players will be first choice in the Midfield? (Excluding Pirlo cause he is 100% First choice)

I'm happy for Sheva to come back, we've done a great piece of business I'm sure, and he is where he belongs.
Do you think that he will address the fans in some way before the first match, wear a t-shirt with a slogan underneath or something? I was thinking it would be awesome if he for some reason wasn't available for the first match to go and stand where he did during the last match before he left, that would really be a strong statement.

Does anyone have a link to those pics of him standing with fans during that last match before he left? Thanks

But as you said "We dont know really what will happen come May 2009" then i can't tell anything else from these comments, i will wait until then. But my opinion is that we shouldn't buy $heva back.

Yoannis, I see this new Sheva as our next Pippo...

Pippo is maybe on his last season... and we can always use someone like him... remember Pippo and Sheva are 2 of the 3 top scorers in Europe ever (the other one is Raul)... and Sheva at 32-33 can be what Pippo has been the last 2 years for us... always ready for the big game... and I think Sheva in red/black is a different player... hopefully he can prove me right soon...

He started losing himself shortly after becoming a father... maybe not because of that, but about the same time... remember his wife used to be Berlusconi's son girlfriend (ouch)... then he changed himself, he even changed his looks... and "best MM's pundit, Zeekay" would say, his looks change how he perceives himself on the field...

did you realize he stopped taping his ankles? and stopped wearing the light colored Lotto shoes he wore for years? lost some leg muscle volume, etc.

Look at the pictures of his arrival to Milano yesterday... his face reveals a change, he does look older, but notice he doesn't have any fat on his face... if Milan trainers can just bring his legs back to shape, he should be back as his old self...

What????????? Sheva's wife was Berlusconi's son girlfriend! I didn't know that! Wow!

I got your point and how good and importan he can be for the club,i agree with you about that points, but my thoughts are .......
I hoped for him to hadn't comed back to Milan after leaving us just for some money and with a bad excuse.I didn't want to see him againg in Milan shirt. He was my favorite player with Maldini.I loved him very much as a player and for the good things that he have done for us.
He made his wrong choice going to Chelsea, but he wasn't a litle boy without a head, he was a 30 years old matured player with family.I can't like him again like the past in such a short time after coming again with us. It will take me a big time to change my mind about him. That only i can say about him.

The time will show.

My big question : Does he have heart and spirit like Pippo?

Spirit that can make Pippo younger than he actually is? Heart that forces Pippo to keep running and finding space to score? There are only few players that can play like Pippo in such age (over 32 years old).

I also think about Sheva as the new Inzaghi but my doubt is only if Sheva has same spirit like Inzaghi?

I'm not worried about the spirit but I"m more worried about physical deterioration. Physical fitness is less of an issue for Pippo (or Gila), but certainly so for players like sheva, kaka`, and even Pato...

Sheva is Sheva, I actually had a dream last nite that he scored for Milan in his first game back with Pirlo giving the assist from the right just outside the box.

Well, put it this way, Sheva cannot be as bad as R99, so thats a bonus.

I dont know, for me spirit and fitness can't be seperated. If you have the right spirit, you will mantain your fitnes and form, just like Inzaghi. Maybe there was no people or at least only few people predict Pippo (by looking on his fitnes in that time) can play till his age right now. Inzaghi was not like a type of Essien, Gattuso etc who were clearly had very good physical fitness, but he maintain his fitnes till a very old age for a striker. Is it really his fitness like that? Or is it his spirit which maintains his fitnes? For me both are in unity.

hahaha sheva is the new inzaghi now? both formed one of the most successful frontlines in the history of AC Milan. one completes the other. or you really think that Pato will be on the first 11?

Sheva is back with, but left many unanswered question.because Roman Abramawich so many time sheva transfer to milan with kaka to chelsea. I dont know but get the feeling that their is agreement that next seaon may kaka goes the other way? although Adriano Galliani insists there is no agreement for Chelsea to sign Kaka in the future.
what you think mats........

from acmilan.com

MILAN - Before the start of the reunion at the Lega Calcio offices, Adriano Galliani also talked about Kaká: "In the negotiation for Shevchenko, there was never, ever talk of Kaká. The fans must be calm because we've been saying it for two years."

If he deserves it he will be. Currently, he is probably our most prolific and in shape striker.

I agree; it's not age, experience, but form. Whoever is fittest will play.

Thanks for being candid and honest in your feelings regarding his return Keone (hawaiian for John, Giovanni, Ian, Johan and Yoannis). I am glad that he is back. And although you and I have different feelings about his return, I agree that he has a lot of make up to undo the hurt and damage that came with his departure.
Yes time will show. Hopefully sooner than later.

FORZA MILAN!

Major debate is going on around Italy on what number Sheva will take. He said he would be ok with 70, 77 or 76 just as long as there's a seven, whilst other reports say he might get the #7 jersey from Pato.

I am still one of Sheva's fan and I support this move to the very end, HOWEVER, if this means he will take the #7 away from Pato then I am against it 100%. Marketing or no marketing, if Ronaldinho was not given his #10, then Pato should not give his #7. I will get very pissed off if I hear Sheva is going to get his #7 back.

btw - does any one know if Boriello took the #11 jersey? and what did Zambrotta take? (I hope he took #2)

In all preseason games Zambrotta wear #15 and for Sheva #77 will be good nr. But i think when Pippo ends his carieer Pato will take his nr.9

These players have left so their numbers are available to.
Although except maybe nr 2 all the other probably won't get asked. Although isn't 43 Emersons birth year?:D

What's up with this whole birth year number thing: Sheva- 76, Dinho- 80, and now Flamini- 84? I prefer the old school 1-20 numbers. :)

sheva gave an interview in a greek paper that is published today..

i think the most interesting thing he said was about the fans
"i know that some fans feel weird about my come back, but i will say only one thing:i ll do whatever i can to win them back. And i refer to all these that may feel hurt.I am here and i want to correct everything.."

He also said that the real reason he did not do well(in england) was because he went through 2 surgeries(injuries):pom:..But now he feels okay although he needs some time ajust agian..And finally he said he missed acmilan, serie a,san siro, hes friends-playmates..

ps its a hole interview, and these were my favourirte points..

Ladies & Gentlemen - I am inviting you to fill out this less-than-5-minute survey (http://umich.qualtrics.com/SE?SID=SV_6okqks73wReTK7i&SVID=Prod) for me. This is just a pilot study (i.e., not used for any commercial or publication purpose) that I am doing for my class.

If you are a student (and never have any work experiences), please do not fill this out! If you are a student but have some kinds of work experiences, please help! I truly appreciate your response.
