Report: Manchester City Owners Ponder Milan Takeover
According to reliable Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the owner of Premier League club Manchester City, is considering tabling a sensational €500 million bid to takeover 40 per cent of Milan.
It is reported that Fininvest, the company that controls the Rossoneri, has already given the go-ahead to start negotiations with the sheik’s Abu Dhabi United Group for Development and Investment.
Fininvest’s president Marina Berlusconi, the daughter of Italian prime minister and Milan chief Silvio Berlusconi, has allegedly been advised to sell off the club, who are now in debt to the tune of €31.98m, according to latest figures.
Mansour has already done business with the Berlusconi family in the past; his group holds a five per cent stake in Mediaset, the media group controlled by the Rossoneri patron.
Last month, the Citizens owner tried to lure Milan star Kaka to Eastlands by putting on the table a whopping €120m offer but the Brazilian ultimately pulled the plug on the move.
