Born 17 March 1986 (23 years old). Bosnian NT player (needs a Non-EU spot), plays for Wolfsburg, the current German champions. He was the top goalscorer(was he?) of the Bundesliga and was voted as the best player in the Bundesliga. He seems to be carrying Bosnia too. His favourite player is Shevchenko and he is a Milan fan. He seems to be the ideal player for us up front. Tall, accurate finish, strength, great head. Here are some clips of Dzeko in the last season,

Latest news are that Galliani and Braida have met with his agent in Sarajevo. Please keep us posted on what happens to Dzeko here. Stitch seems to be the one with the latest details because he is his compatriot. Let's hope this is the first piece of the puzzle.

He wasnt bundesliga top scorer, his team mate Grafite was..regardless his just perfect, the only issue is Dzeko or Hernanes..I hope Galli finds a way to integrate them both(through some kind of loan or smth)..ony these two can satisfythe kakas sale..as i dont see us going after the big names of the football.
Someone please remind me why we are buying another striker, are we selling Pato too? I thought it was defenders we needed? If I'm not mistaken we were joint top scorers in Serie A last season. This Dzeko's style sounds just like Borriello's.
Well, Galliani definetly was in Sarajevo. His picture, taken in hotel "Hollywood" on Ilidza was in papers today. His manager confirmed that talks with Wolfsburg are on hold, because Dzeko wants to join Milan badly.
He and Graffite are the most succesful striker duo in the history of Bundesliga. I don't know the correct numbers, but he scored about 80% of his goals in second half of the season.
He plays great with Bosnian NT too. He is the best scorer of the european WC2010 qualifications (7 goals, I think).
I will be posting more informations later :) My co-worker's brother is a good friend with Dzeko, so I'll have "inside" informations :)
According to Bild (http://www.bild.de/BILD/sport/fussball/bundesliga/vereine/wolfsburg/2009/06/09/edin-dzeko/treffen-mit-wolfsburg-geplatzt.html), Dzeko representative missed the meeting with Wolfsburg but had time with Milan. :D
In the website there is also picture of Galliani, Braida and Dzeko ?consultant/adviser?.

That is true, but Dzeko is the best scorer in bundesliga without penalties shoot. Grafite shooted penalties for Wolfsburg;) Dzeko put the most golas in games;) and 20 golas in last 18 games.
it would be god for us i f DZEKO come in Milan>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Grafite is the top scorer of Bundesliga with 28 goals (8 assists) from 25 games but 8 from them are from penalty kick.
Dzeko made 26 goals (7 assists) from 32 games and none of them from penalty. He made also some goals in DFB-Pokal (German Cup), UEFA Cup and for Bosnian NT.

are you sure it's 4.5 and not 2.5 million euros? I read earlier we offered 2m euros a year and Wolfsburg offered 2.5
He will be a replacement for Inzaghi and not Kaka
It's probably 4,5 convertible marks (bosnian valute), which is, approximatly, 2,5 mil euros ;)

That could be true but Milan must not find the replacement for Kaka, Milan can take other option, to build a team without Kaka.

Wolfsburg have denied any interest of Milan and have said Dzeko is completely unsellable.

If Dzeko wants to go badly enough and Milan is willing to bid enough money, it will probably happen. A lot of clubs say this player or that isn't for sale to drive up the price.
That could be true but Milan must not find the replacement for Kaka, Milan can take other option, to build a team without Kaka.
Exactly. Perfect response.
In all honesty having Kaka was sometimes a burden, as he was starting to get a reputation as a ball hog. Just like Juventus, this is our chance to start a-fresh and have a new way of playing football.

Yeah but if Milan really wanted to sell Kaka for 70 mil, we should have secured Diego, and now Dzeko. Imagine Pato- Dzeko- Diego behind them. Niceeeeeee
Now Diego is with Juve and he will be one of the best players of Serie A next season.
yeah i'm thinking Wolfsburg only said these comments because they are trying to squeeze our bank balance. But whatever, i'm sure they'll come up with the goods. We need a big man up front. Its better if Borriello has a bit of competition next season.
Edit: In reply to Ricks comment.

Agree with the rest that it's just to get more money out of Milan's bank.
We have said the same thing about "I believe in Jesus" for 5 years. If he wanted to stay, he could have stayed.
Just like Gourcuff with Bordeaux.

I think this will be a difficult transfer. Not sure I see it happening anymore.
1) Their coach (Magath) left at the end of the season. The new coach doesn't want to lose one of the top players/scorers.
2) Wolfsburg just won their league, and want to do it again. IMHO, they were a surprise champ.
3) They know Milan is sitting on a ton of cash from Kaka and Gorky. They don't want to sell in the first place and only a ton of cash will force them to, which Berlu won't pay since he wants to pad his pockets (ahem... I mean pay off the supposed debts)
I think the only real possibility is if Dzeko forces Wolfsburg to allow him to transfer.
I would really like to see Dzeko at Milan, but am doubtful it may happen.

TO be honest, I want him to play for Milan and all. But I really don't want him force his way to Milan. As a fan I hate to see other clubs come and grab Milan players and it should work both ways.

Wolfsburg is holding out for atleast 30 million (i know it is crazy) and we are far from getting him. Expect a long summer/winter of bargaining!
Rumours have it that we will get Toni this season, and wait till next season to get Samuel Eto'o on a free transfer! I know it sounds stupid, but I could believe that!

Milan Sign Edin Dzeko - Report
The Rossoneri have a signature on a pre-agreement. The next step is to convince Wolfsburg...
12 Jun 2009 13:31:29
Milan target Edin Dzeko has signed for the club, but fans will have to wait as it is only a pre-agreement, according to Sky Sports Italia.
The Italian news station claims the Bosnian hitman has put pen to a pre-agreement which will give the Italians first choice. Milan now have to convince the Germans of parting company with their man.
The pre-contract is based on an eventual agreement between Milan and Wolfsburg. So far, the Bundesliga outfit have claimed their man was not for sale, but Dzeko's decision to sign for Milan is likely to put the pressure on the Germans.
According to reports, Milan will try their luck again and a meeting with Wolfsburg directors is scheduled for next week. Voices claim the Italians will raise the stakes in terms of an offer.
It suggested the German side wants €30million for their man, but the Rossoneri are only willing to stretch to €20m. The player's apparent will to join Milan is in the club's favour.

Such big transfers take a long time, and by the end, we could have someone totally different. My dream is that we offer Wolfsburg 25 Milion Euro plus the services of Massimo Oddo. Sounds good?:hmm2:

All i can say to that is... :ilol:
The problem with our current group is, besides from Pato/ Pirlo, none of our players have a good resell value. At their age, each year that goes by, their value halves! Only Milan is crazy enough to pay the big money for these old players.

Ofcourse I do. I'm bosnian :)
I have friendlys, official games. Most of them are for bosania, dont have any of Wolfsburg.
But they are big to upload. I can send you the goal if you want, somehow :)
The player that I really want to see at Milan is Semir Stilic. Also played in the same club like Edin FK Zeljeznicar. Great player just has not made the brake. He is also 21 old. Midfielder, lefty, great player. :)

Gennaro Gattuso Approves Milan’s Attempt To Sign Edin Dzeko From Wolfsburg
The Italian international believes that Dzeko could be an important player for the Rossoneri should they manage to sign him.
13 Jun 2009 06:10:32
Milan and Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has given a thumbs up to the possible purchase of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko.
Gattuso believes that Dzeko is a type of player who the Rossoneri need, following the departure of Kaka to Real Madrid earlier in the week.
"Dzeko is an important player who we would need for the qualities he has," explained the Milan veteran player to Calciomercato.com.
"He's a strong player, just like [Milan striker Marco] Borriello, even though at Wolfsburg he played on the wing."
Recently it has been speculated that Paolo Maldini could join Chelsea as Carlo Ancelotti's assistant coach, something which Gattuso finds hard to believe.
"Knowing Maldini, I think it's very difficult that he will leave Milan," he continued. "I really don't see him doing that."
The Rossoneri are expected to remain in the transfer market headlines in the coming weeks as they continue trying to strengthen the squad following Kaka's exit.

Maldini will never join another club, not RM, not Chelsea.
He will surely stay in Italy, he said.

It is a question of money that's for sure, well atleast for Wolfsburg. There is no way Milan can't offer the wages for Dzeko, it is just that Wolfsburg are hungry for an extra 10 million euro in the transfer fee. Milan might get scared at the prospect, and i wouldn't blame them.:fright:

I expect there to be an official announcment on Dzeko next month at the latest. No one can drag it out any longer. Worst case scenario, Galliani annonces that they will look for other targets as Wolfsburg were asking for too much.
My opinion: after seeing Dzeko weave some magic, I reckon just give the money that Wolfsburg want and be happy with the talent we have just received. 10 million Euro, despsite the economic climate, is not worth losing Dzeko over. Would you feel good Galliani about missing out on a potential superstar of the future over a mere 10 million?

Probably not, first they have to go to a lower lige club prove them self and then maybe move on. But Bosnia is puting out some talents. Ibrahimovic his routs are Bosnian, Subotic from Borussia Dortmund, ofcourse Ibisevic and Salihovic from Hoffenheim. Ibisevic scored 18 goals in the first half of the season then he got injured and he was out for the last 6 months.

Problem is, half of these players perform well in their home league, and their home league only. Whether it be choking under pressure at bigger clubs, or just home-sickness, the majority of these talents don't make it. That is why it is vital to have a scout with great personality judgment above just finding the player with the ability. :sun:

and i forgot to ask for a source ?
How about 15 million, and the services of Boriello and Oddo? That sounds more realistic! If Wolfsburg continue like this, they will live to regret there salfishness by refusing to cash in! :frustrat:
Wolfsburg is a club that actually has as much money as Berlusconi. They dont need cash and only thing Milan has in their hands it the will of Dzeko to play for Milan... 30mln + Boriello means Milan needs to spend another 10-15mln to replace Boriello in our squad.

I feel if Boriello can properly recover and return to his old ways, Dzeko will become less relevant to the club's plans. As I said, give it a fair shot, but don't over do it and succumb to Wolfsburg's demands! :5dito:

We offered a new deal to Wolfsburg. 18 million euros, but they refused. They wanted to extend the contract with Dzeko, but he refused and replied, that he wants to be traded to Milan. Wolfsburg doesn't have other options than sell Dzeko to Milan.
Expect the deal to be closed in the following week. We will pay Wolfsburg around 20-23 million euros. And Borriello won't be included in the deal.
There is no way Boriello should be included in the deal. That just shouldn't be an option for Wolfsburg.

I will say Dzeko has impressive touch with the ball for a big man, much like Ibrahimovic. I will say though, he's scoring a bunch of a goals from a distance and the german teams seem to have very poor marking. It will be a challenge for Dzeko in Serie A where the marking is much tighter and the defensive schemes are better.

Its been said on few web sites. It is a little too much 30 mil, just because Wolfs payed only 4 mil for Dzeko, then again they got him for like peanuts, 50 000 euros.
Anyways lets hope he comes, it will be great for Bosnian nation, it will be a excellent buy for Milan :)
If I can I ll try to dig out the info from the youth of Zeljeznicar when Dzeko played, he was scoring a lot of goals. I remember a lot of games that I have seeing he scored every time. :)

Dzeko against US on San Siro!!Incredibille..
What was incredible? He must have been wearing the same boots as Nicklas Bendtner :D
So, what's the latest our Bosnian friends? Is he going to sign or what?
Today's news: It's all in the hands of the new Wolfsburg coach. Dzeko said he will respect his decision. "Sources close to Dzeko" (how reliable they could be, I'll leave it for you to judge) however, report that his transfer to Milan will be announced in a few days.

If I'm honest I think Wolfsburg are prepared to sell Dzeko now, they are probably securing a target of their own before it's confirmed. Both Dzeko's agent and Galliani said Wolfsburg are prepared to negotiate and they have made it clear they're looking for attackers right now. Everything points to Dzeko coming to Milan and Wolfsburg getting someone new to replace him (I know Peter Crouch and Wagner Love have been linked to them).

Didn't they categorically denie the sale today? I didn't read anything but some friends have told me so. Can anyone confirm and tell us the latest on the matter please?
Stitch: did Dzeko actually say that to the media that "it's in the coach's hands" or is it simply a report?

from milannews.it
can some Italian-speakers translate this? from what I understand, they say there's no meeting with Milan. It says something about next week but I don't quite get it.

Vlado Borozan, in charge of the mercato of Wolfsburg said the rumours of a possible meeting between his club and Milan next week were false: "No meeting is scheduled with Milan, nor at the end of the week, nor Monday. Wolfsburg will speak with the player next week and after that, we will decide what to do. If we already looked for a substitue ? No, we need another striker and we've looked for one since a while, but that has nothing to do with the question linked to Dzeko.

AC Milan chief Galliani: Dzeko must make move
20.06.09 | tribalfootball.com
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits Edin Dzeko is likely to have to demand a move away from Wolfsburg for any deal to happen.
“He is a great player, but Wolfsburg insist that they want to keep him,” Galliani explained. “From now on, the desire of the player will count because the rules are clear and worth everything.
“However, if the footballer wants to leave…”
Galliani then turned his attention to Aly Cissokho, the Porto full-back, who failed a medical at Milan.
“Porto didn't accept a reduction in price or a loan deal so the deal for Cissokho is off,” Galliani revealed. “Our transfer strategy will concentrate on the search for a striker."
Also, only a striker? We need new young player in every position of the pitch!

Actually, I think Dzeko is really hoping for the move. He's booked to meet Wolfsburg I think Monday.
Meanwhile, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani reckons the Rossoneri "have signed a striker" and literally everyone in Germany is convinced it is Wolfsburg ace Edin Dzeko.

This way Wolfsburg know that we must sign Dzeko to satisfy fans so they have no need to lower their demands. Maybe they have a surprise up their sleeve and they gonna get Eto'o or something.

Well one of the Bosnian site is reporting that some guy from Wolfsburg said they are not willing to sell Dzeko not even for 50 mil, not this year. Maybe next year, because they want him to play in CL. He wants to go, thats for sure, and he wants Milan.
It looks like Wolfsburg are listening to offers for Dzeko from us without even consulting the player as yet.... If someone else hijacks this deal i will be mad!!:frustrat:
Edin Dzeko's Move From Wolfsburg To Milan Still Possible - Agent
The Bosnian attacker is still being chased by the Rossoneri...
21 Jun 2009 07:26:09
Vlado Borozan, agent of Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko, has given his view on the possible transfer of his client to Milan.
According to Borozan, the negotiations are not easy and it is still too early to express a certainty on Dzeko's future, even though there might be some news next week.
"The operation of Dzeko to Milan is very delicate and complex," explained the player's agent to ilsussidiario.net. "Right now, anything could happen.
"The negotiation is open for any possibility, but next week there will be some new news. Wolfsburg wants to hold on to the player.
"The German club did not make any evaluations, maybe Dzeko is worth more or less €35 million, we don't know.
"However, the club wants to speak to the player to understand well what he wants to do and only then they will decide what to do; anything is possible."
So looks like Dzeko has not been given a chance so far to express his desires to his current club. Maybe because the Wolfsburg board memebers fear his repsonse.

I hope we sign Dzeko pretty soon by God's grace
now latest reports are suggesting that wolfsburg aren't going to sell him. but then again, Goal.com isn't that reliable.
No it's Sky Italia who's saying it. Goal.com is merely reporting it. Wolfsburg are just bluffing.
Now his agent says Milan can sign him. He told Telelombardia in an interview that he's available.
Seems that every day that goes past, this transfer keeps on getting more unlikely. Looks like the agent, and thus the player is willing, and Wolfsburg haven't completely closed the option. So it sounds to me that Milan is not putting enough effort into what should be the main target for our whole transfer activity this summer. Hope another club who is willing doesn't hijack these negotaitions....:moan:

it wasn't on the corriere dello sport website so i thought it was another story outside of italia.
EDIT: Quote
Does this play some resemblance to last season's Adebayor pursuit? In the end we pursued Dihno, after Arsenal asked for too much. I have nightmares that the same will happen this year, except that this time, we will actually get Adebayor (this time, it is a bad thing!)! :moan:

Not really. Adebayor was heavily linked to Milan but we always made it clear our first choice target was Dinho. Dzeko, like Dinho, is our first choice target.
Whether we get him is another matter though.
We work in a way that we sign a player and then the player himself needs to blackmail the club and then we pay in the end. Gila, Dinho, Cissokho, Beckham ( payed himself ).
DZEKO: "I WANT ONLY THE MILAN!"
Telelombardia and Antenna 3 have reached absolute exclusive Edin Dzeko, Wolsburg center of the object of the desires of Milan. "Everyone knows that my great dream is to play for Milan, as everyone knows, but right now everything is in the hands of Wolsfburg" said the Bosnian bomber. The words of Armin Veh, Dzeko prefers diplomacy: "I will not comment on why in the coming days to meet him, I think Saturday, I will have a meeting with him and the leadership of Wolsfburg, then I hope that everything is solved. My dream is to play for the Milan because for me is the best team in the world, Milan is something incredible for every player. " Finally, the wish to be the meeting of July 6 at Milanello: "I do not know, I need to talk to the coach and the new leadership, it would be incorrect to talk about it. Anyway I hope to be." Therefore important words which show a strong desire to Dzeko to wear the Milan jersey.

Jap Edin is a big Milanista, and he will come. IF he had the money like backham he would buy him self out. But I know he does not have that kind of money :)
I can't see how Dzeko can cost much more than £20 million. Torres was £26 million and the guy is nowhere near as good as him. I think his price should be more along the lines of Santa Cruz (£15-18 million), that would be a good deal for everyone involved.
Hopefully we'll see some developments soon!

To be honest, I think Wolfs might really want to keep him around to challenge for CL and I don't blame them one bit.
Thus, if Milan wants Dzeko, they must pay a fee where Wolfs feel they can use the money to strengthen the team, like 40mil.
Once the player firmly presents his desires and confronts the club directors, the transfer probability rises dramatically. Wolfsburg don't want to risk missing out on cashing in now, and having a disgruntled and out of form player next year.
It is not definite, but now we have something to smile about in regards to the transfer. It is now up to Galliani to keep the momentum rolling....:D

I kind of agree and disagree. Torres when he went to Liverpool wasn't a world class talent, but rather a promising young player who had shown he's capable of making the step up. Dzeko is essentially in the same position now, in that he's just had a phenomenal season that has shown lots of promise. Roque Santa Cruz is a good player, but has never shown the same sort of quality as either of the other two.
However, £20m seems a price which would be around the most we should look to spend (I agree on this). The reason I value Dzeko less than Torres is because I think England in general has extremely high prices, and Torres at the time he went to Liverpool wasn't worth £26m (though in hindsight it's worked out very well).

1) Torres was much more heavily recruited than Dzeko.
2) Most fans knew who Torres was, long before he moved to Liverpool. Most fans did not know Dzeko before this year and wolfsburg run to the german league champ.
Anyway, I would have gladly paid 26m (at the time) to get Torres. Everyone knew he was going to be a great player and many Milan fans were pushing for him to come to Milan (despite Spanish players general lack of success in Serie A).
I like Dzeko too, but he is a much bigger risk than Torres was, and due to the inflated prices, he'll cost more too. I do believe Dzeko will work out though!

Milan's Galliani Not Giving Up On Dzeko Deal
http://www.goal.com/en/news/10/italy/2009/06/28/1352066/milans-galliani-not-giving-up-on-dzeko-deal-lets-wait-and
Seems like Milan has got money to spend but can't attract anyone. The longer we go wihthout success in the transfer market, the lower our targets become, and the less Galliani is willing to spend, in order to further "balance the books." It is a stressful process for us fans, as we see players such as Favalli getting contracts extended, and Adebayor taking over as our top signing.
Galliani has to grow some B*lls, and bid highly for our targets, because his stingy methods aren't working the way we hoped to.... Take some risks for the good of our club, because now, there aren't any financial excuses.
Sali,
it's not about Milan "attracting" players... Dzeko has admitted his will to move to Milan but he's under contract and with Wolfsburg playing UCL next season they don't want him to go anywhere.
Okay, don't want to be the first to give up hope, but looks like Dzeko won't be with us.
Seriously, Adebayor as our next option?
Anyone have any proper suggestions of a player we could REALISTICALLY get, with similar qualities to Dzeko? :tongue1:
tardissun
29-06-2009, 00:08
It's the opposite. Milan has attracted the player - but they are unwilling to cough up the coin to pay the large transfer fee for a promising player.
If Inter wanted Dzeko right now, they'd make a 30m bid and he'd transfer but Uncle Fester has instructions to be as cheap as possible, even if it means we sign Brocchi instead of Dzeko.
One on hand, I understand. Transfers today are ridiculous, but on the other hand, Milan mgmt seems to be pocketing a lot of money these days.

It's not a rumor, I was just making a joke about Milan mgmt's trends in the transfer market. Milan usually go for cheap, old, freebies.
At the end of the day, when it comes time for B&G to part with the money, they won't. Therefore, welcome Ba, Brocchi, Panucchi, or other old cheap freebies. (Sorry, Galliani calls them "Champions". I thought that name used to mean something)

Edin Dzeko Breaks Milan Hearts: I'm Happy At Wolfsburg
The young attacker has given the Rossoneri more bad news.
Jun 30, 2009 12:38:13 AM
Photo GalleryZoomUefa-Cup: Wolfsburg - Portsmouth, Edin Dzeko (firo)Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko has put an end to the speculation surrounding his possible move to Milan, pledging his loyalty to the German champions.
This is a huge blow for the Rossoneri, who have not yet signed a big name player following their sale of Kaka to Real Madrid in the past weeks.
Dzeko said recently that he was being forced to stay at Wolfe against his will, but now he seems to have change his tune.
"I'm fine at Wolfsburg and I'm happy to be able to play in the Champions League," declared the Bosnian attacker to the Bundesliga club's official website.
"In the coming years I will play for Wolfsburg at 100 per cent."
According to Wolfsburg, it was a meeting between the club and the player on Sunday that convinced Dzeko to remain in Germany.
"From Saturday, Dzeko will be at the training camp at Sylt," announced the website.
"After a clarifying meeting with the directors, now he is sure: he will stay at Wolfsburg."
This means that Milan will have to start looking elsewhere now, with Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor now thought to be their main transfer target.

Well I`m hoping Dzeko is similar to kaka both in terms of quality on the pitch and on his given promises."Kaka was staying for sure too"
Actually I think this is over, we need to move on. The best option available would be Huntelar(and I think most of us would agree). He would come relatively cheap, 20-25 mil, also will leave an open position for Non EU. There Hernanes comes in, as we absolutely need his creativity in the CM position.Or D`agostino will come in handy definitely if Hernanes turns out to be hard to get.
Actually with some smart moves, we can end up with some good young players and management can be extremly happy as we havent spent a lot.
Cuz lets face it, they wont be spending their ass off, cuz then kaka sales would be just plain stupid.
Huntelar 22 mil
D`agostino 15mil(??)
Cisokho1 12 mil
Santacrocce/Zapta/mexes 20-25 mil (zapata is realistic target ,seriously)
With 70+ milion will be covered all over the pitch with great youngsters. And i think that our rebuilding will be over considering(Pato,Flamini,Tiago,Paloschi,Abate,Bonera are here too)
Huntelaar as Dzeko's next option? Maybe

I would really like to hear more from leo, and who HE wants. Hope this is not another puppet and master affair, with Galliani and co. getting all the say about who arrives.
Who does our coach want for god's sake!
Well, if our big moves are the triumphant return of Brocchi and a press release saying that having a healthy Ronaldinho and Nesta for 2009-2010 is like having bought six world-class new players, then you can be sure who's calling the shots.
It's all posturing, but that doesn't make all this any less annoying. Obviously, things are a bit slow on the transfer front for everyone so far (those mental cases in Madrid being the exception that proves the rule), but should pick up now that the Confederations Cup is over and the window is truly open for moves. Whether it picks up for Milan is another kettle of fish entirely. Just get something done for God's sake. At this point I'll beleive it when I see it...

Ah, yes. You must be referring to:
1) the sales of Kaka and Gourcuff.
2) the wise decisions the past few years to sign old and under performing players on high wages (Vieri, Emerson, Janku, Oddo, etc..)
3) Signing horribly performing players to huge contracts (Dida, Kaladze, ...)
4) or to the fact that we're barely holding on to remaining key players such as Pato, Pirlo, and Gattuso.
5) Of course, the money from Sheva, Kaka, and Gorky have somehow found their way to the inside lining of Berlu's pocket. (ie. in a nutshell, these sales paid for his teen girlfriends)
Whatever you are smoking, send me some of that please.

Yes, no matter how sympathetic you want to be to Berlu's regime currently (last 2-3 years), you can't avoid the fact that Milan's image is the only thing that is keeping them up at the moment. Sure, our president has been great, but it is time to move on. Find someone who actually has a FOOTBALLING mind, and knows that buying too younger players, or too older players will destroy a team. Even his son has more brains, and openly criticised Dihno's arrival, and the over sentimental signing of Sheva.
For this mercato i prefer to buy those player
1.Edin Dzeko - is the perfect palyer for atack with Pato
2.Cesc Fabregas - He can replace Kaka'
3.Aly Cisshoko - We ned a left defender
4.Hernanes - He is strong and will make the game more spedly not so dead like Pirlo
5.Kjaer - We ned a center back with Thiago Silva

Fabregas is perhaps a bit wistful.....
Kjaer?..... We need an older (25-28) experienced CB to guide Silva through the campaign.
We should have Cassano or a player of the sorts to replace Kaka. Versatile, he can score for sure, and better, create MANY goals with his wonderful assist ability. The only problem is his attitude...
And yes, Cissoko would be great yet not going to happen. Can't deny it, we need someone out wide of defense to replace Janko, who I believe is past his best by far....
We also seriously need a new keeper (Adler, Handanovic, Mandanda etc.). Many say it will be ok, and we should hold out for Marchetti next season. But have we got a deal done for him? NO. He is in demand, and there is a HUGE chance another club will snap him up b4 us. Abbiatti's injury can become chronic, just like Nesta's, and then who do we have? Dida, Kalac (No offense to them, but hardly Milan and Seire A standard)?
And yes, sell Pirlo to Chelsea for that inflated price and buy Hernanes. Pirlo has great technical ability but doesn't produce it enough these days. As a result, he helps further reduce the speed of our midfield. How can we cope with other Serie A teams, and English/ Spanish sides, if their midfielders speed around us as we have seen b4? Hernanes is a perfect mix, and together with the aggresive and attacking Flamini, and the man-wall of Gatusso, we have a formidable midfield. On the bench we also have the option of tough and scoring midfileder Ambro. Its not like a Madird transfer compaign, but it requires serious investment, and objective (NOT COMMERCIAL) purchases. :rone:

I'm surprised by comments like these. No matter what mistakes have been made in the past, Milan still remain the most successful team in the CL over the past 6 years--2 CL's, 3 finals, 1 semi-final, 1 quarter final, and I would dare say that our record over the past 20 years, ie the Berlusconi era has seen us being the most successful club internationally.
So this means that whatever our management has been doing has resulted in us winning trophies. I would rather we continue this way, than be another Inter that invest heavily on players (I'm sure their fans are happy every summer), and then end up choking in Europe.

I myself am suprised by your comments. Sure, berlu has been great in the past, but can you not see he has gone seriously astray in the last three years? The team that he set up long ago has been able to keep up with competition in that period, but we are struggling more and more. Coming 5th should have been a wake-up call for mgt. We should have been re-building last year rather than for this season.
I know what you're saying, but credit has to be given where it's due. Look at what this team has done over the last 6 years. We have acheived more in Europe than Man Utd have done in 10 years! Numerous players were brought in---some who have flopped, and others who have become superstars like Kaka, Pato, Pirlo, etc, but the bottom line is that we have won on the field.
I agree with you that we may have rebuilt perhaps one year too late, but to come out and say that Berlu/Galliani are incompetent, don't know what they're doing, don't know how to spend the transfer budget, give big contracts to unworthy players, etc, etc....is just ridiculous.
We are now in a rebuilding phase after an era of success. If we don't start winning BIG again in 2-3 years, then we can start pointing our fingers at management and calling them names. For now, we have to trust in the history of this club under this managment and see what happens.
And, BTW, what is the benchmark of a successful transfer season? Is it the quality of players brought in? If so, Inter and Real Madrid are the most successful teams of all time. Or is it the ability to win on the field? If it is the latter, then we have to let this transfer season pass and regardless of who we buy, we need to wait and see what happens when the season starts. Because after all, there is only 1 football on the field, regardless of how many so-called superstars are present. If a team can gel together and play as a team, trophies will be won. If a collection of superstars don't click, then the whole team just disintegrates----try asking INter.
Bad news guys.....
Chelsea Preparing €23 Million Bid For Wolfsburg Striker Edin Dzeko - Report
The Blues are looking to succeed where Milan have failed this summer…
4 Jul 2009 09:20:00
Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko and are planning a €23 million (£20m) offer for the player.
The Mirror reports today that new head coach Carlo Ancelotti, who is looking to add quality to his side and reduce the average age of the Blues’ squad, sees the Bosnia and Herzegovina striker as an ideal option.
Italian giants Milan have been courting Dzeko for most of the summer, but seem to have moved on to Sevilla’s Luis Fabiano after being frustrated by Wolfsburg’s desire to keep hold of the player.
But the Blues are still said to be hopeful of persuading the Bundesliga champions to agree a deal and Ancelotti has apparently told the club’s hierarchy to start putting out feelers to see if a €23m offer would be accepted.
The 23-year-old Dzeko burst onto the scene last season as he smashed 36 goals in 42 just appearances in all competitions in what was a fantastic campaign.
Dzeko, capped 17 times by his country, played for Zeljeznicar, Usti nad Labem and Teplice before joining his current club.
Chelsea completed the signing of starlet Daniel Sturridge from Manchester City yesterday and are still hopeful of agreeing a deal for left-sided Russian player Yuri Zhirkov next week, with significant funds available to Ancelotti.

I hope so Bosniaco (or whatever your name is).....and with Luis Fabiano coming we can dream another dimension of wolfsburg pairing -Fabiano come Grafite- :)
Anyway, i can see that Pato will eventually be sold to chelsea. maybe for 45 mil euros. that is twice the price we paid on July 2007.....

Even if it means waiting next season for Dzeko, and having Toni/Coruch for this season would be ridiculous. Bosinica, i admire your optimism, but perhaps it is time to move on from Dzeko. 20 million plus Flamini for Adebayor. That would defineintly work, but Flamini would be worth more than 10 millon himself. RIP-OFF.
Hunter wouldn't be a great fit, yet luis would be... But 20 million for a 29 year old. That is asking questions on how we should properly invest our cash....

I definitly dont like 20 mil plus Flamini. I mean the guy left Arsenal to come to Milan an a free and now send him back? Ridiculous !!! This scenario is not happening.
As far as the news is concerned, the Dzeko deal seems off. Let's hope you know something we don't Bosnaico!

Yes, from a business man's aspect, it would be fine including FLamini in the deal, as he came free anyway. But i personally believe he is the future of our midfield/Defense, and is better than Adebayor anyway due to his versatility.
And i still hold my case. Not trying to sympathise with Galiani, but 20 million for a 29 year old is pushing it.... After all, we are trying to wisely spend our cash. If we spend 20 million for Luis, we might as well cough up the 30 million required for Dzeko, who is far younger....
If we were to fail in bringing in any new players from now on, where do you think we would finish next year? Would top three sound optimistic
? Do you reckon that a young one will step up?
Seems to me that MGT themselves are losing hope to lure a new CF, and therefore, allow themselves to be satisfied with a top three finish next season. But if none arrives,it would be hard to even land in the top three. Napoli and Genoa (never forget Fiorentina) will naturally be pushing for these spots.

The thing is, Luis is more of a sure thing than Dzeko, in terms of scoring goals and blending with the team due to the Brazilian influence at Milan.
Dzeko might be great and all, but lang. and culture diff, could affect him. While I clearly don't see that as a problem for Luis.
Price wise. 20mil is fair and Milan better act fast, as ManU, ManCity and even Barcelona might jump in any moment to sign Luis.

The thing is finishing top 3 means beating the likes of Lecce, Cheivo and others in the league. Statistically, if Milan can beat the bottom half of the League(10th -20spots) in both home and away, they will have 66pts in their pocket. Lets say they then draw all home games with the top half of the teams while loses all away games against them. Thats another 8 pts. It will be 74pts. Which is good enough for the top three this past season.
To me thats a tough tough task without the Kaka's running and Beckham(freekicks).
Also with the current squad, it will be very difficult to achieve TOP 3 finishes.

How could you say 20 million is fair for a 29 year old? I am positive we could find someone else with that money. problem is, we have such a small "hitlist." Dzeko, Hunter, Adebayor or Luis!
Can't any of our scouts find someone? Lets move away from mainstream big names and find someone who is atleast more renowned or talented than Zigioni or Beretta.

Because he thinks he can get Dzeko on a cheap. Problem is Wolfsburg has money, they dont need it, so they say its eighter a big sum of money or he is not going anywhere.
But what Galliani wanted to do is take the attation away from Dzeko so that other clubs dont join the chase and then snap up Dzeko on the back door if you get my point

Thats going to work.
Like I said before, Galli's way to lower the prices would work in the 70s and not now. As there are plenty of clubs out there that can and will afford Dzeko for 30Mil or so. On top of that, Wolfs really does not need to sell him.

YES, yes yes! I have been ranting on about this for ages. Defense should be the main priority, and sealed up months before now through transfers.....
For those who seriously believe that Dida and Kalac are capable of holding the goals, I congragulate your optimism....
Abbiati's injury was horrid, and at his age, anything could happen. Just like Nesta, this injury could become chronic and then what? YOu want Dida/Kalac holding out against millito, Ibra, Diego, as well as strikers form the UEFA champions League (Rooney, Kaka,Benzema, Eto'o)?
We need a new keeper, young yet capable of seriously challenging Abbiatti for his spot. And if the worst happens, he will be more than able to replace our current no.1.
Suggestions: Adler, Bruno, Marchetti (although it will be impossible to get him), Mandanda....

Edin Dzeko Not Leaving Wolfsburg For Milan - Cristian Zaccardo
The Wolfe defender has given his two cents on his club-mate's future...
8 Jul 2009 07:20:23
Wolfsburg defender Cristian Zaccardo confirmed during an interview that striker Edin Dzeko will not be joining Milan this summer.
Zaccardo praised the German club for managing to hold on to their star player despite the pressure of such a big club like the Rossoneri.
"Dzeko is a very good player, Milan would have made a big hit, but Wolfsburg is not selling him," declared the former Palermo player to Antenna 3.
"We must compliment the club for managing to hold him. His will was that of going to Milan, but they convinced him to remain.
"He's a good lad and will not cause problems. I think that there are no more possibilities for the Rossoneri."
Milan are now focusing on other targets, including Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor and Sevilla's Luis Fabiano.
Glenn Debattista
Still, who is Zaccardo to be talking? He is crap, and wants a trnasfer to our team himself!

Yes, he is a gone player, which makes me disgusted when he talks about our club. He should mind his own business, and is now begging for us to pick HIM up! He should of joined us when he was good....
It seems Dzeko has suffered an injury to the joint in his right ankle. See, Wolfsburg should have sold him! ;)
Dzeko suffers ankle injury during team training
Abhimanyu Rajput - 10 July 2009 21:14
Dzeko has been sidelined for 10 to 14 days
Bundesliga champions VfL Wolfsburg will be without their prolific striker and AC Milan target Edin Dzeko for about ten to 14 days.
The news comes as a blow, the 23-year old will miss the vital pre-season preparations after an injury to his right ankle-joint during team training on Tuesday morning.
The Bosnian had a sensational season with Wolfsburg finding the back of the net 26 times, and finishing as the Bundesliga's second-best goal scorer last season, bested only by his Brazilian Wolfsburg team-mate Grafite, who scored 28 league goals.
He joined the Lower-Saxony outfit from FK Teplice in summer 2007 to score a total of 34 league goals in 60 Bundesliga matches.
Ha maybe Galliani can try and reduce the price now :)
Nothing serious, one month abscence at the most, and no surgery.....

Well, why would they swap a guy who scores goals for one who seems to have a problem doing it? I mean, I'd be happy if they would do it, but I don't think a German team would over-rate Borriello the way Italians tend to do.

I am sure if we offered 20 million plus Borri on loan or permenant, the deal would go through. but yes, MGT overvalues Borri and would probably think he is as good as Dzeko!

Nothing has changed, no news because of their new striker.
I predict, that Edin has already signed a pre-contact.
Both Milan and Dzeko have agreed on it. I have found it a bit odd, that Milan went so strongly after him, the weeks of talks and rumors, and later Edin said he is okay with staying one more year there. There is something we don't know about ...and I assume it is that pre-contact.
Would be very strange for all parties involved if Dzeko does make the move to Milan this year....won't believe it til I see it.

Why would he sign a contract extension if he were going to transfer to us this season? This move is as good as over.
He signed a new contract with a buyout clause.
Yes, but the buyout clause would be active from next season, no?
If the player wants to leave THIS YEAR, then there's no point even signing the contract extension. The clubs would just negotiate and the transfer concluded one way or the other.

In football you never know what is going to happen in the future. I can see this as the last season for Inzaghi, which opens up a spot for a Dzeko kind of striker. However, we already have Paloschi and Zigoni lining up to play in the same position so it will be tough to sign Dzeko even if Inzaghi leaves. At the moment, Dzeko joining us at the end of the season is close to impossibility. Still never say never.

leonardo has been asking for fullbacks, a creative midfielder, & a striker all summer...so we got Huntelaar, why do we need another striker? shouldn't we be worried about the other 2-3 positions we need to fill? why do we need a right winger(is he??? Krasic)
i think if we need anything offensively is someone to fill kaka's shoes because so far ronaldinho is falling way short...and i think the only offensive option we should be looking @ is a cassano: probably the most in-form player in the Serie A, ITALIAN, excellent age, talent, strength, and desire to play the world cup...

yeah from what i heard is that Krasic plays as a right winger (and i know nothing about his quality), but are we really playing with a wingers formation? who do we have on the left? Jankulovski??? not fast or skilfull enough....so i think that would require buying someone there as well....and given our obvious shortage of cash that's not something we can afford....also we have abate who can play on the right and who i believe is more than worth the chance...that's why i think we shouldn't be spending money on players who we don't really NEED and not sure they would really fit....we can't afford that

Anyway the point is very simple, Gila is scoring goals for dun against decent oppositions anywhere anytime  The guys scored the winner against Liverpool recently :5130: I have seen the likes of Vieiri, Del Piero, Ibrahimovic, Inzaghi, Trezeguet etc going to English land in the UCL and come up with failed performances for the Italian sides. Gila has the guts to do what those could do in the recent years under English domination. Anyway we have missed gem, and I will miss him for sure :wallbang:
Just wonder if this ACM # 11 shirt  has something to do with Rivaldo, Crespo, Borrie, Gila and now Huntelaar???
The curse of the number 11 shirt...... and dating Carlo's daughter
I m sorry, but you know very little about football if you say things like that. First of all they are not the same type of striker. Hunter is a Inzaghi, box predator type of striker, wheres Dzeko can be a target man, box man, Dzeko can dribble past defenders, he can out run defenders, he has a great shot outside of box, I don't know if I should continue.... :)
He is good, but he is overrated in terms of the praise he gets. Regarding his dribbling abilities, lets just say, it is not that great. He is not that fast either. He has a good shot and can play as a target man. He is not worth more than 10mill + Huntelaar. Back when Huntelaar was scoring 30+ goals season after season everyone was singing praises about him like they are for Dzeko, what makes you think Dzeko will turn out different that Huntelaar? Although, Dzekos characteristics suit us better than Huntelaar and Dzeko is the perfect complement for Pato. I think Huntelaar is class and in the right team he will be a 30+ goal a season striker, its a pity it won't happen at Milan though.

Come on man, you cannot be serious. Gilla was never a big team player, he is great in medium and small teams but for some or other reason he disintegrates when playing for a top team. The same thing that happened to him at Milan would happen if he had to go to any other top team such as Inter, Barca, Real etc. I think its a psychological thing that he will never get over, there are many players out there like him.

Huntelaar could well be a Mateja Kežman... and Dzeko could be our Vanbasten/Sheva...

dzeko is an unbelievable talent. i watch a lot of wolfsburg games just to see him play. he is great in the air, has a tremendous shot and surprising pace for a man his size. he has also shown an ability to play well in big games. WHEN (not if) milan get him it will be a great day for rossoneri fans.
I forbit people to call any of new players "next Van Basten and Sheva"! It is simply not olite to mention Van Basten's name next to young unproved players.

there's an article on milannews.it saying as long as milan qualify for the champions league next season dzeko will sign. i think a couple italian papers have said milan and wolfsburg directors have been meeting as of late and it seems milan are getting dzeko. if it's true it will be in june
