View Full Version : Bashing Oli Bierhoff...
Hello, i am here to introduce myself. Actually i am here to introduce myself for the 3rd or 4th time if my memory serves me well. I am following MM since the first year of its operation. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, fellow Milanisti, i consider myself a proud veteran of the infamous "1st Oliver Bierhoff War".
Yes, back in the days when MM members spent hours and days fighting over Oli Bierhoff and Perugia would occasionally come and win in San Siro. Hell, it's been so long i don't even remember on which side of the Bierhoff War Bodat was fighting. I stopped posting but i was always reading the forum.
Some of you ancient figures in MM might have a slight recollection of my first posting name, Stelios. That's my real name too. I am a 30 years old Greek guy living in Rotterdam, Netherlands and i watch and support Milan with all my heart since 1989. I did things for Milan nobody can ever believe they are true but that's another long story.
For a living i pour drinks in a hotel bar, i am a DJ in various Rotterdam bars and i used to write articles for Greek newspapers, magazines and websites.
Really glad to be back...
Though not part of it I remember it. It lead to a serious fight around here.
Welcome back to MM, many of the old members are not around anymore, I guess times have changed but the team is not what it used to be either.
I won't tell you welcome back ... just welcome !! :D
I don't know what was this "1st Oliver Bierhoff War" ?

Members fighting each other on the glorious fields of MM about whether Oliver Bierhoff was a football god or completely useless. Altogether fighting vs members who were sick and tired of reading insults thrown at every direction because of Oliver. I tell you, fun times...

Oh, so lately, there was some kind of replica with Seedorf/Slowdorf ... :D

welcome back to MM Stelios.

I think the more direct comparison would be the Gilardino discussions we had time and time again..but I'm not sure if you were already here for those.

I think I was there as I often defended Gila ... :D
I remember those days and I remember Stelios as a member of MM. :)
Trust me nothing, except maybe the polarization that came about as a result of the hiring of Terim as coach (and, for some reason 9-11), was as heated and generally silly as the Bierhoff wars. There were some battles back then...:D

Hey RIO, i nearly forgot about the Terim Wars. Good old times, i remember my then girlfriend was ready to leave me cause i preferred to wander around MM than to go out with her. She finally did when i went to Milano for a match vs Lazio without taking her with me. :5dito:

Not exactly the same kind of war, but there was a collision between two group of people here on MM. Romantic Boys Club:love: versus the not-so-romantic members of MM. It was fun too. Specially when my post really burned a female member here (I forgot her name). She cried all the time. Even her husband got involved later on. Anyway that was enjoyable time as well. And also this Gilardino conflict is also worth mentioning for the record. I always defended him as well, but many here didn't. Good times :)
I remember the good old times. And I remember some heated discussions about Bierhoff, but I wasn't a part of them,as I was only reading the forum at that time I think. I started reading the forum at the end of 1999/early 2000, because that's when I first got a computer with internet.:D I used to always be on MM, but I didn't know much about the internet or forums.....so I was always wondering how people were writing on here. haha It wasn't until a year later that I decided to join. :D
I guess I'm one of the ancient members on here, and I've continuesly throughout the years read the forum pretty much daily, although there was periods when i would only read and not post anything for months.
Good to look back on those days. I wonder how many of those old members still visit the forum regularly, even though they might not post.
