My pragmatic side says: I am not sure that peaking now, is really peaking at the right time.
I would have preferred to see this sort of display in the final, even if I got an ulcer on the way there from tight 2-1 wins, or wins of a similar nature.
However, my optimistic side says: YES!! We are certainly getting into fine form at a cruical stage of our season overall. i.e. both in Serie A, and in the UCL..now, if we can get a 6 pointer vs Juve on Sat..then it will be roses..
Though again, I see the Serie A Pro-Juve conspiracy raising its head with us having one day less rest than they do, because we played on a Wed..but the same would hold were we to play on Sunday, but at least we would have had an additional day of rest....hmmmmm
Suffice it to say that its still early days yet, but this win, on the back of the Empoli victory, does show a gelling, an increase in "chemistry" a new solidity in the back, (Can Maldini even get Kaladze´s game after today´s stellar performance vs Bayern?)
, a certain compactness in the midfield, and with 7 goals in 2 games.... a razor sharp attack.
So, though I lean to the positive, I am still in two minds
