In the middle of this chaos of worthless threads, most of them not related to our team, I want to bring you back to where we belong: ACM-1899

For those who are new fans of Milan, or simply too young to have heard of this before, I will use this thread (and hopefully some of you will add more info) to let you know interesting details of how this institution became what it is today:

-Due to the commercial and political relevance of the city of Milano (capital of Lombardia), it became a point of access to the foreigners from the North,
who wanted to access the rest of Italy (cities like Roma, Napoli, Firenze, etc.)
This is how Football arrived towards the end of the 1800's.

In 1898, in Torino, the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) was created to give structure to this new popular game. The first team in Milan was the Mediolanum* FC.

Among the followers of the "new" sport were three young Englishmen: Kilpin, Allison, and Davies. On December 16th, 1899, they met at the Hotel Du Nord with two English business men: Edwards and Nathan, who would supply the financial support for the new club. That day, the Milan Cricket and Football Club was created, with Alfred Edwards as its first president.
