If he was as good as his goal scoring record suggests then surely someone else would have been linked with him ? Like Zlatanov said how do we know we won't get another Luis Fabiano ? A player who promises much but delivers little. Fabiano's record was unbelievable at Sao Paulo, yet over here it's not so good.
I'm just trying to determine his pedigree.

Well, there could be a number of reasons why he hasn't been linked to other clubs (although he has actually been linked to Fenerbache, for what it's worth). For one thing, he's been back in Brazil rehabilitating from his injury. Also, until the past couple of weeks there has been no indication that the player was looking for a move or that Betis was willing to sell him.
The difference between Oliveira and Fabiano is that Oliveira has proven himself in Spain. Of course that's no guarantee of success in Serie A, but the same can be said of Fernando Torres and many others. If you're Milan, you have to watch the player and trust that if he can perform at such a high level in Spain, he can do the same in Italy.
In fact, speaking of Torres, Oliveira has scored more goals than Torres over the past two seasons despite having his season cut short by injury in November last year. Plus he does a lot of other things to help his teammates.
