When Ronaldo used to touch the ball a while ago it used to excite me because I had this feeling that something is about to happen, but when he touches the ball now I get no feeling. He looks like a slug. You said he can serve us as Larsson did Barcelona, but as someone here already mentioned Barca didn't pay nowhere as near as what Real is asking for Ronaldo. Plus his salary would probably be one of the highest in the club if not THE highest of all players. I just don't think that he has anything near what it takes to deserve that much money. Now because he is your favorite player, you might think otherwise, but put your feelings on the side for a while and think realistically.
Second, I don't like Capello that much as I think he is very arrogant and always wants it his way even if it is wrong, but on Ronaldo I'll have to agree with him.

I'll keep your points in mind...please remember that Ronaldo has seen perhaps the worst series of events recently...I disagree with your take on the situation since I watch him a lot and it would be a dream for my favourite player to play for my favourit club. Maybe my love for him is blind, but so far I have referred to statistics to get my points across.
Ronaldo's main problem is that he is a victim of his own successes and high standards. For Example I remember his worst ever season where he scored 21 goals in the La Liga season....I mean ANY OTHER STRIKER ON THE PLANET scoring 21 goals would never be knocked...but Ronaldo was simply because he's capable of playing soooooooo much better. The season he scored 14 goals he played less than half of what he was supposed to.
The thing is whatever his position he is still a worldclass goalscorer and that is what we need. I agree that while his physical speed hasn't diminished much his decisionmaking is much slower.....but then again if everytime you faced a defender they gave you a tackle to injure you..I suspect you would be cautious as well. Also Ronaldo plays much more of a provider than he ever did. He set up Adriano this WC, and he had a couple of assists to Raul and RVN as well
