Gourcuff happy with progress

France Under 21 star Yohann Gourcuff is pleased with his progress at AC Milan, despite the club's disappointing results. Milan are undefeated in Serie A since November, yet the former Champions of Europe are only ninth in the league.

Gourcuff, however, is pleased with his time in Italy and admits that training with the likes of Clarence Seedorf and Filippo Inzaghi makes it all the more worthwhile.

"It is so motivating to train with such players that there are at AC Milan.

"It is not easy to see how Roma and Inter are far away in the table, and even if we concede a lot of draws, I am happy to be at Milan.

"People talk less about me, but it permits me to work serenely.

"It is true that sometimes I miss playing with my friends."

The reverberations of the death of a policeman at the Catania and Palermo match last weekend can still be felt, something Gourcuff is acutely aware of.

"I am so happy, even if the league is disturbed because of the problems.

"I can understand the passion of the fans, but hatred is inadmissible.
