The main character in Goal isn't a real player, he's just an actor (though he probably likes football and can play a bit) and so is the guy with blond-ish hair in Goal 2. Neither of them are real players and it's not based on a true story or anything.
The Goal films are a trilogy, after the newly released second film there will be a final third film and naturally they all follow the rise and success of the main guy. I would imagine the third film finds the guy at the bottom, down on his luck and then rises back to the top again
These things are usually that predictable
I haven't seen either film, though i saw a clip of Goal 2 where Beckham takes a corner and it falls to the guy near the edge of the box and he volleys it into the top corner. The way that was filmed and shot was enough to make me not want to see either film. However Anna Friel could tempt me to watch them, she's lovely
