When Paolo was born (June 26th, 1968) his father Cesare had already lifted the Champions Cup (now UCL) 5 years before... so Paolo literally had it in his DNA.
As a teenager, when presented by the Milan youth manager to Mr. Liedholm (first team's manager), he said: - "Don't feel you have the obligation to take him just because he's Cesare's son... if you don't think you can use him, just say it"
Needless to say, they did find him useful. Although as a right back in the start.
